LOL.... I feel like Chris Rock in the movie "Boomerang" when Eddie Murphy gets played by Robin Givens.... "Damn... First the Fat Boys break up, now this...."
First the Babe Forum is taken out (that was for good reasons, as I saw the pic that did it in), now this...
Wow. I certainly wouldn't have donated a couple weeks ago if I knew this would be happening. Absolutely horrible decision. What's the point in even coming here if the board I posted on primarily up and disappears? Oh well, looks like I just got screwed out of $20.
I'm well aware that this won't be a poplular decision, however, as Operation Sports continues to grow, so do the problems associated with the EE forum. The majority of the topics that are deemed questionable ( race, religion, politics, drugs, etc.), all originate in the EE forum.
The removal of the EE forum may be temporary, it may be permanent. At this time, we are still undecided.
Well done. An extreme solution, but it makes a lot of sense.

Can I ask why you donated to a sports videogame board when you wish to discuss neither sports nor videogames?

I don't have a problem discussing sports or videogames, I am quite fond of both. And the reason I donated was because OS is a message board that I quite enjoy -- and because my username sucked. However, with the board I was most fond of being taken down, I'm left reconsidering why I wasted my money donating in the first place. It will be very hard for me to justify spending $20 on a board where I will now only be making a handful of posts a week, if that.
Personally, I think this is a stupid decision. Then again, I followed the TOS yet I'm getting "punished" so to speak.
That was the main forum I posted in.
I really do not understand this, I'm sure a lot of people would get bored of talking nonstop sports/videogames. The EE forum was different, that's why it was EASILY the most frequented forum.
Donated $40 and this happens? This is so fascist-esque. =/
Wow....I sure didn't notice a heavy influx of inappropriate material that would have led to this decision. All this means is that people will post off-topic material in the other forums, or just not come here as much. Both net losses, imho.
But as others have noted, it ain't our site to run....
Helen: Everyone's special, Dash. Dash: [muttering] Which is another way of saying no one is.

People came here at different times in their lives(2-3 years ago) when videogames were a big deal to them, but grew out of that. Yet they still managed to find a group of people with discussions that they enjoyed, and that became the biggest draw. That is my story anyway.
If I was coming here for the sports and games only I would have stopped a couple of years ago.
Oh well, thanks for running this site, it had a great run for me, hopefully it keeps being a popular place for sports and sports videogame discussions.
If this is the case, shouldn't this same fate apply to the NON-Sports gaming and OS Neighborhood forums as well. If this truly is supposed to be a "Strictly Sports Discussion" Site?!
