Exactly, I dont want to go to a completely different forum with different people to talk about things that i want to talk about with the people from this forum.

I think you missed it.


People find another board, because there are hundreds, OS is nothing special, and then let other people know about it... finally, people can agree on a place to suit their EE needs. I've seen many other places do it when their current board shut down - including the ThunderPuck boards.

Wow. I can honestly say I'm shocked. I left the house for 2 hours, come home, get on OS, scroll down to the EE forum, click, and all the threads are gone, go back a page and I see "Entertainment" in the place of EE. I had to do a double take to make sure it was real. The EE and CFB forums were the most visited by me. I'm really surprised by this change. I visited the EE forum everyday. Bad move by the staff in my opinion, but oh well. It sure will be strange not seeing the EE forum in its rightful place.

That isn't the point. Simply "starting over" at another board just isn't that simple. It's like being at a high school where you are well acquainted with everyone, know their likes and dislikes... Then having to relocate elsewhere, throw yourself into the fire, become reacquainted with the locals and then become comfortable posting in that environment. It's something I've done many times, and thought I wouldn't have to do again since I found a nice "everything else" board here at OS.

Hey, we can still be a community. We just have to pretend that nothing else exists in the world except movies, TV, music and sports.

Oh, and we can't call each other names while we talk about those things.

Your opinion is out there. If OS isn't good enough anymore without EE... I'm sorry. And, in all seriousness, I like you Acid... I'd be sorry if this caused you to leave. But, we (the Staff) who have been here for over 5 years in some cases have to think about what's best for the site. Sometimes it's not popular. It may cost us Poster. It's our decision. Your opinion is duly noted. It's not personal.

I think it will. I already said before that it was dwindling on the edge of boredome with the way it was being modded. Now with this move, I'll be at the point of gouging my own eyes out for entertainment. Believe it or not, the rest of the boards in the forum dont stay active 24/7. The EE forum did.

While I'm apparently in the vocal minority, I disagree. At least in my perspective, the other forums have more than enough content to keep things interesting and to promote the original intentions of the site. Perhaps this will even encourage more posting in the forums that the board is intended to support and make more interesting, more varied discussion.

That said, I am just as disappointed as the next person that the EE forum is gone. It seems that this is one of those cases where a disruptional few ruined it for everyone. However, I don't have an iota of the work that goes on behind the scenes or what the staff had to do to keep EE under control.

I do hope that EE returns in some form in the future, possibly as (just throwing this out there) a donator-only forum.

Ditto, but it's never bothered me. I guess it's because of my situation here that I don't really care. I really just use this place for sliders and rosters, that's pretty much my primary use. So, as long as those forums are still around, I'm easy.
