I don't talk much as it is, I find OS to be a way where I can express myself with the possibility of getting made fun of, because I would in "real life" because of my stuttering.

That's my excuse for liking to get involved in discussions, because unless someone is really my friend, I won't talk to them very often.
You make a valid point. The EE forum was great, I liked it a lot, probably just as much as you. The thing is, life as we know it will not end. Comparatively, there are soooo many things in the world that are much more important than one forum on one gaming site, so there is no reason to get worked up about it.

I don't understand why there's a freaking riot going on here. The world is not ending. Had we been more mature and actually been able to discuss such topics, it would have stayed around. The only direction we can point the finger at is towards us.
Most of my friends are not as intelligent as me, nor do they usually enjoy talking about things like this. EE was a place I could come to read intelligent posts about what is going on in the world, rather than real-life discussions about drinking, smoking weed, girls, and all that other college guy talk all the time. Most of all, the EE forum was entertaining. There were some hilarious/classic threads in there.

Where is this riot? People disagree with it, who cares? And you trying to judge people you don't know is laughable.

If the EE was as intelligent as you make it out to be, it would have never been removed in the first place. I will agree that it was entertaining.

And 8 pages at 40 posts per page in under a few hours classifies what I will call an "internet riot".

And lastly, you said "who cares". Ok, so I disagree with you, who cares? I'm just putting in my opinion.

Interesting decision, to say the least.

I understand why you did it, so I'm not going to lose sleep over this, but I am a little shocked that this extreme was taken. But hey, I'll just continue to post in the other threads I posted in, no big deal.

5 posts in a now 306 post thread, and I'm getting worked up?

I just want to put things in perspective. I bet that if no one complained, and we all acted like mature people, the EE forum would return faster than it will by complaining and calling out 'nazi mods'.

                  Re: Everything Else Forum Removed

Everything I'm about to say has probably been said about 20 times by now but I'll say it for a 21st anyway.

I don't like the idea of no Everything Else/Off Topic forum. Now before I get criticized about not having a social life, believe it or not I do, now onto my $0.02, I came to OS about 4 years ago (not all with this account, and was a lurker for a while) for the sports gaming and sports forums, and to this date I still do. But over the course of that time I got to know the posters on this board and enjoyed being able to see their opinions on various topics outside of the world of sports and sports gaming.

I could go join another message board and debate this stuff, or call/hang out with friends and discuss this stuff, but I already visit other boards and talk to my friends about this stuff, but I also enjoy being able to talk to the people of OS about these topics because they bring opinions to the table that sometimes make me look at something from a new light, I'll definitely miss that.

                    Re: Everything Else Forum Removed

I agree with the sentiment that this is a horrible decision. Every forum I go to has an Off-topic forum of some sort for people to discuss non-site related things. And in almost all those cases, the off-topic forum is the most popular on the site. With the amount of posts EE had generated, along with the response it's gotten for being shut down, I'd say that it's the same case here.

I helped run a gaming site similar in size to this one for three years. Not only did we have an off-topic forum, but we had an entertainment forum, sports forum(non-sports related site), technology forum, advice forum, and debate forum. We wanted to make sure that if members felt the need to discuss something, they had a place to do it, and it worked out fine. All the forums were active. The members at that site basically all fell into the 13-17 age range, meaning they were quite immature about things, but never did we have to consider closing the off-topic forums over it. We just made sure we had enough help to monitor over the site at all times.

I think by the reaction you guys have recieved, you really should reconsider your decision. I know I don't have as many posts here as others, but I lurk around here way too much, and I spend more time in the EE forum than any other. Without it, I don't think this forum will be the same.

A bit off-topic, but...If you're going to get rid of the EE forum because it's not related to the site, then why add an Entertainment forum? What does music, tv, and movies have to do with sports gaming?

BTW - Before someone accuses me of taking the forum too seriously as well, trust me, I won't be losing sleep over it. OS is a place I come to for entertainment, whether it be sports talk or non-sports talk. It just makes it less entertaining and gives me less of a reason to visit without the EE forum.

Just because a lot of the threads were pointless, does not mean that intelligent discussions did not take place. And yes, it was entertaining. Easily the most entertaining forum on this site.

People are voicing their opinions. Does that make it a riot? No. Do you see people freaking out, talking about how they will never visit this site again? No. On a site with thousands of users, I suppose you should have come to expect a response like this when a huge portion of OS's forums was just removed.

And other people are doing that as well. Does that make them losers? If you say so. Call me a loser all you want because I have 8,000 posts on a message board. I have friends, I have a girlfriend, and I am not here at all on the weekends. As a college student, I have a lot of free time between classes that I spend on here. I don't watch any TV or play video games, so yeah, I must be a loser. I love when people here try to judge the personal lives of others, talk about taking this forum way too seriously.

Another thing, if modding the forums has become such an overwhelming task, why not ask for help? I'm sure many people, including myself, would gladly help mod a forum. Getting rid of forums altogether is not the answer, IMO at least.

Yeah wouldn't it be easier to add more mods (even designate them to only mod the one section if thats the only area needing lots of help)? Like OHguy said I'm sure many people would gladly volunteer their time for it.

You have to remember, this is a sports gaming site. The Entertainment forum is up now. I don't get what you else you guys want? There were so many useless threads that would end up in arguments in the EE forum that it was sickening to mod. I think some of you are complaining just to hear yourself talk and complain.
