Just because a lot of the threads were pointless, does not mean that intelligent discussions did not take place. And yes, it was entertaining. Easily the most entertaining forum on this site.

People are voicing their opinions. Does that make it a riot? No. Do you see people freaking out, talking about how they will never visit this site again? No. On a site with thousands of users, I suppose you should have come to expect a response like this when a huge portion of OS's forums was just removed.

And other people are doing that as well. Does that make them losers? If you say so. Call me a loser all you want because I have 8,000 posts on a message board. I have friends, I have a girlfriend, and I am not here at all on the weekends. As a college student, I have a lot of free time between classes that I spend on here. I don't watch any TV or play video games, so yeah, I must be a loser. I love when people here try to judge the personal lives of others, talk about taking this forum way too seriously.

I've already agreed that EE was a good part of the forum, I liked it a lot. I don't think it should have been removed. That said, it's just not a big deal.

I really did expect a large group of users to show their dissappointment, but we're doing it the wrong way. While some have posted intelligent suggestions, such as yourself, we have others who offer nothing, no solution at all.

I never called you a loser, I never said you had no life, I didn't say that about anybody, and if you took it that way, I personally apologize. All I'm saying is that there are bigger things to worry about than the loss of a forum, especially when the internet is as large as it is.

You have to remember, this is a sports gaming site. The Entertainment forum is up now. I don't get what you else you guys want? There were so many useless threads that would end up in arguments in the EE forum that it was sickening to mod. I think some of you are complaining just to hear yourself talk and complain.

I think if there would of been some sort of notice people wouldn't be as upset. (since it was so extremely sudden) But I don't think they are complaining just to hear themselves.

You have to remember, this is a sports gaming site. The Entertainment forum is up now. I don't get what you else you guys want? There were so many useless threads that would end up in arguments in the EE forum that it was sickening to mod. I think some of you are complaining just to hear yourself talk and complain.

I understand what you're saying but entertainment doesn't cover everything, what about a big news story? Most of us like to see each others opinions on different topics but can't do that now.

Here's my $0.02 that have now probably been said alot already.

I’ve been on here for about 4 years now. I came here because this place was great for video game reviews, then the more I was around seeing all the different topics/threads going on and all the sports being talked about I couldn’t resist not joining. I talk about all the sports and even in the wrestling, but the EE forum was a getaway from talking sports or video games, because sometimes you need a break. I for one liked the EE because like I said it was a getaway to go and see what other subjects people are talking about and giving opinions on. It was interesting because sometimes you don’t want to ask your buddies on a subject and want to get a outsiders opinion that you don’t know that might enlighten you to see something a different way. Sometimes I get burnt out on talking sports because I have to talk about sports and watch sports nearly everyday with the career choice I’ve made in becoming a radio sports broadcaster. So, it does suck that EE is gone, but I’ll deal with it just like everyone else will deal with it. But my posts will go down.

I understand what you're saying but entertainment doesn't cover everything, what about a big news story? Most of us like to see each others opinions on different topics but can't do that now.

Like has been said many times, is OS really a place for major news? and every single time we've had a big news story, like Katrina, it spiraled completely out of control. Everytime.

Yeah wouldn't it be easier to add more mods (even designate them to only mod the one section if thats the only area needing lots of help)? Like OHguy said I'm sure many people would gladly volunteer their time for it.

Wow... isn't that convenient... when there was an EE Forum... there were too many Mods and they were power hungry and locking threads with personal agendas...

Now... you all want to add MORE Mods....

Basically, like CardsFan said, Entertainment doesn't cover everything. Breaking news stories, intelligent debates, etc...this is the only forum I post at and I don't really feel like I should have to register at other ones just to discuss these topics. Like someone else said, every forum out there has some sort of off-topic board for posts like the ones in the EE forum.

If that forum had become such a pain to mod, why not ask for help? I spend a couple hours on here a day and I'd gladly look over EE when I'm here, even if that means just reporting bad threads and not locking them. I'm sure there are others who would do the same.

And no, I'm not complaining just to hear myself. I really hope that wasn't aimed at me.

Stop sugarcoating it and give us the real reason for closing it.

And to avoid confusion, you can just answer this- does closing the EE forum have anything to do with UGO?

I don't recall saying there were too many mods, but the locking threads with personal agendas did occur. I don't think the task of modding EE is everything you are trying to make it seem to be. If you needed help, why not add a few more mods to look after EE? People you feel can be objective in locking threads.

The topics in the basketball forum are at least about basketball. How is a topic about "My g/f doesn't love me anymore" important to a videogame site, let alone a sports site?
