If alot of long time posters started leaving OS, would any of you really care? I'm not being sarcastic, just curious. I expect the answer to be along the lines of "Posters come & posters go".

Apples and oranges? Are you guys not the authority on this site? I treat the green mods the same way I treat the administrators. Just because I see a red name does'nt make me switch my lingo. I see you all in the same light because I have no clue what goes on behind the scenes. I dont see a pecking order.

Now was Doughty not a regular guy who enjoyed the power more than anything?

I really cant understand why some of you mods and I'm reffering to mostly the green mods, complain about modding forums and how sickening they are when none one put a gun to your head and forced you to mod.

You specifically mention the greens, which is what I was answering too.

Brent was not just a regular mod. He was the ONE and Only admin at the time. All decisions about the forums and how they were run were his and his alone. Apples and Oranges.

The current Mods and Staff have donated more time (and actual money) to this site then the rest of the 30,000 members combined. Why? For power? No... to keep OS alive. To help Steve... FOR the Users....

How much time has Eddie or Fossen or HD or Shawn given to YOU!?!?!? To speed up the site... get content... post news.... upgrade forums... write reviews.... WE do it all for you guys.....

Actually, ZXLT hasn't donated.

So, not the entire mod/admin/staff has donated.

Not to instigate, just throwing out some facts.

After calming down and thinking about it logically...

I'm taking management's side on this one.

They run the show, they make the rules. Don't like it? Tough. This isn't a democracy, nor is it a republic. It's a website, a message board. I've tried my best to evolve from the whiny uber-sensitive little kid I used to be when I first joined. Based on some posts here, the removal of the EE Forum has shaken the very foundation upon which some of you run your lives. Move on.

I appreciate everything that the administrators and moderators do here. I in no way think they are "facist" or "power tripping" or anything like that. And I've had my share of clashes with guys like BK, Clay, and Sully.

I actually think we could use more moderators on here. The ones we have are great, but there are times when they're not online, etc etc. The admins/mods here don't get paid, they do what they do out of the kindness of their hearts just so we can enjoy this site and these forums. And how do many people react when they make a decision that may not even be permanent? They get slammed for being "power hungry" and "oppressive".

Let me just be clear. I don't agree with the decision to remove the forum. But it's not going to tear this place apart, nor will I be thinking about it tomorrow or even later on tonight. I liked EE, but the removal of it doesn't change my opinion of the site or any of the people that run it.

If the Admins and Mods here got paid for every bit of criticism they received here (especially in this thread), they'd all be able to retire and move to Florida.

Thats a great marketing strategy to get more people to come to your site.

All Jokes aside, as long as we got the sports forums, the world is not ending without the EE forum, i just found it to be a good forum here but you do what you gotta do.

It just sucks that we wont get humurous threads anymore about things such as Tarheel's wife crazy family..

You'd have a point if this wasn't a free site, or if this was for profit.

Great post, that's how I view now that I've calmed down myself, I'm sticking with the avvy/title..just because it looks cool.

But yeah, I agree with what you said, however Aaron has implied the EE forum is long gone..

Outbreak in one thread. Outbreak that will end once you guys realize that a decision has been made and that unless some of the higher ups decide to change their minds, the EE forum will no longer be around.

The other 20 forums havent been affected by this change at all.

Doesn't really bother me, I've moved on, but it looks like it will be permanent.

Also, what ever happend to hdaniel?

HD is still around. He spends a ton of time doing behind the scenes things for OS. He mods late night (he's on Hawaiin time remember).

Hdaniel is still around.

I would care about losing certain long time posters but this decision was made for the good of the site. Am I gonna lose any sleep of OHGUY being banned? No, because he caused more trouble than he was worth. But I would care if we lost users who brought something to this site.

Ah, I was commenting on the money side.

I think Z's a great mod, so I retract that implication. I was talking strictly on the money donating, I think all the mods/admins do a great job. No disrespect here, it's a tough job, I know that.

If the EE was as intelligent as you make it out to be, it would have never been removed in the first place. I will agree that it was entertaining.

And 8 pages at 40 posts per page in under a few hours classifies what I will call an "internet riot".

And lastly, you said "who cares". Ok, so I disagree with you, who cares? I'm just putting in my opinion.

What I don't understand is how someone enjoying a forum is someone "without a life". I play football, wrestle, and run track and I still have the time to come here and talk to the people on here. It would be different if there weren't actual people that were talking back but they are. I don't see how just because you are talking to them through the internet that it's any less different than if you talked to them on the phone or something. There's nothing wrong with enjoying the people that frequent the site.

LOL okay...I'm taking management's side when it comes to certain posters jumping all over the admins/mods, claiming they are power hungry.
