Wow, as much as I love OS I gotta say I'm very dissapointed by this.

The EE forum is where you really got to know the OS members and created a great sense of community. We all know everyone comes here for one of two main reasons; sports and/or videogames. But the EE forum was great because it let everyone show what made them unique. I think this is going to greatly limit the sense of closeness on this site. I guess that will have to come via the "What's Up" thread each day now.

Truly a sad day for OS.

it's not like you can't still view the EE forum. You just can't post in it.

what would be the point of just reading the EE forum?

Meh. I gotta agree with the mods and admins on this one. The thread topics were getting a bit too mature lately. I mean, no offense to Giggas or anything, but a virginity thread and everything that was posted in it, really doesn't need to be on a site like this. I mean, you have a lot of 13 and 14 year olds on this site. They don't need to be reading about all that. And I'm sure parents would not be happy either.

Besides, as long as OS has all of the football forums and the college basketball forum, I'm happy

Meh, actually looking around at everything I'm okay w. the change. It just weeds out alot of teenage puberty thread and things along that line.

LOL, funny thing is that some people complained in the past that OS was "too mature" and this will make it even moreso, but I'm okay with that.

                    Re: Everything Else Forum Removed

Well, I am a little disapointed. Im sure I made plenty of threads that should of been question, locked or maybe even banned for (thanks for not doing that) in the EE forum. But, I would call a lot of guys on this site friends and the reason I know them, at least I think, is because of the EE forum. You got to really know about people and their personalities, without it..I may or may not have been to the site as much and I may or may not of got to know guys around here like I have. I can only talk sports or sports gaming so much. I know there are other sites out there that I can talk about a certain things, but to be honest I really dont want to. I know the community, we all know each other (all the regs etc) and we all could crack jokes etc because we know each others past on the site. I will def miss that part. Or people posting things their children did, them getting married or even sad times when people just needed a boost. When my mother passed , I made a thread about it..not because I dont have real friends or real family to talk to, but because it was my escape. I also look at some posters as friends. Its sad there isnt an outlet for things like that anymore, but life on OS will move on, the site will still be great and im not going anywhere.

I guess...I was probably going a little overboard this afternoon about the change...but now...it's not that big of a change. After all, it is just the internet.

Similar to what Dookie said, I'm okay w. this change because I already know a majority of the "hardcore" OS'ers very well. However, there is no doubt that I made these relationships and got to know these people through the EE forum.

I just hope this change doesn't prevent new members from establishing the same type of relationship w. other OS'ers.

Basically what I'm saying is that I hope a few years down the line there isn't some great divide of "I was here before the EE died" and we all act like elitists or something dumb.

This decision shouldn't come as a great surprise to anyone who's been here for any length of time. I'm surprised the EE forum lasted as long as it did...

I enjoyed the forum, but if the mods and admins believe its removal will improve the site and/or make their jobs easier, I'm cool with it.

Maybe if the rules were more strict on what should and should'nt be posted it would be better. Again though, if we can still post about family stuff, positive and negative and the like, which I believe we can, it should be okay.

the other day a poster was asking about sex and the like so I can understand where the mods are coming from. I just think maybe with some fine tuning it could be added again if it was more specific perhaps.

it's just too bad because I thought there were mostly good threads in EE, and the odd one that clouded it up. However, when I think back about what the interesting threads were, I remember discussing hip hop, family stuff and music in general.

Its not the end of the world by no means, but I wish the mods didnt insult the users of this site so often whenever there is a disagrement.

Anyways, the irony of all this is that this thread almost needs to be locked IMO as its served its purpose as an update to the situation.

I came to this site several years ago, just looking for information on NCAA Football... I lurked for a minute, and gradually became a frequent poster... But the posts were usually just about sports and video games (I guess, as they originally intended)... I appreciated all the work that went into running the site, as it bacame my top place to get info on all the latest games and strategies... But once I got to the EE forum, that was where there was a true sense of community...

I don't know that I could ever legitimately call these dudes "friends" in the traidtional sense of the word, but they were knind of like a cyber-"Cheers", if you will... Where everyone knows your name. I remember when my father passed away two years ago... I felt compelled to say something about it here, because of these people... And they responded in kind... Their kind words and thoughts were truly appreciated.... Then my son was born... I shared that with them as well, by means of the EE forum... Others, too, have shared life's little triumphs and tragedies here, because of that sense of community... That's the reason that they're upset, because of that being taken away...

I don't agree with the decision, in fact, I think it sucks.... But I'll continue to post here, as it is still the #1 site for sports video games on the web... It's just a shame that something good had to be brought down... It's not my site, so who am I to say what should be done with it... But I can disagree wholeheartedly with the decision...

So, dear friends, I guess we'll never find out if dieselboy finally conquered the love of his life, and we'll never know the details of PDiddy's wedding and honeymoon (or better yet, if Greg Jones was actually involved), and most regrettably of all, we will never hear of asianflow's latest porn findings... Rest in peace, Everything Else forum... You did your job well.....
