Re: Everything Else Forum Removed
Ditto, I actually woke up this morning and forgot all about it, I guess the move was needed, I didn't even realize the fact that a lot of youngters were reading those "R-rated" posts. Just like a previous poster indicated, is there some liability issue involved if something had happened due to one of the threads/posts?... And o yeah...I'm actually suprised this thread as lasted this long.Originally posted by SullyYeah, same here...

And so the fallout ends....
I guess cats are waking up to a new day, and it's like "meh".... Move on, do what you gotta do... There's other message boards that I post on, but they don't have that sense of "community"... I have hope that the EE forum will be back.... Steve stated yesterday in another thread that the change could very well be temporary, and Sully has stated that several times in this very thread... I think it would be best if people just ignored the way some answers or comments were given and just wait and see what happens.Comment

Re: Everything Else Forum Removed
The explanation given by Sully and the other staff members has satisfied me. The Entertainment forum and OS Neighborhood forum are still available for most of the things I liked about the EE forum.Originally posted by TarHeelManAnd so the fallout ends....

$.02 from a regular ol' black-named user:
I liked the EE forum. Not because I was there a lot (I may have went in there 5 times ever), but because I thought it helped do a good job of keeping the forums I like a little less messy. Kinda like giving the kids a rec center to spend time after school instead of getting into trouble.
I never cease to be amazed at the number of people willing to unload seemingly every bit of their personal lives on a messageboard for all to see. Whether it's genuine or just hype and BS, this is Operation SPORTS, not Operation EVERYTHING ELSE. Maybe I've lost complete touch with this site, but I still think sports videogames are the heart of this site.
What's stopping those of you that are in such an uproar about this from starting your own board just for everything else? It looks like most of you have donated here, so why not contribute to an offshoot site with a small forum just for this purpose. You could be your own mods/admins, which it's clear many of you want to be, and have fun all the live long day, discussing any and everything under the sun, from what kind of underwear you wear to whatever diseases you and your family may or may not have. If you ever wanted to discuss sports videogames, you'd know where to go, back here at good ol' Operation SPORTS.Comment

Re: Everything Else Forum Removed
Clay, I appreciate everything you have done and continue to do for this site. I'm sure nobody can truly understand how much work goes into a website like this without actually doing it. I get roped into website design at work all the time, so I know how time consuming it is. The only thing that bothers me is the way you react to people. I think you may rub some people the wrong way with the way you respond. People have opinions, right or wrong, and your responses to those opinions tend to be, at the very least, sarcastic (even people that aren't bothered by it comment on it all the time). I think everyone understands that they aren't "owed" anything by this site, but the nature of people is to dislike change. This was a pretty major change, at least for a forum that some people spend hours frequenting. Some people are bound to react negatively to that change. There's nothing wrong with letting them express their frustrations. At least it's all contained in one, easy-to-manage thread. As has been shown today, many that were angry yesterday have now moved on to acceptance.Originally posted by Clay_OSWhat are my true colors?????
That I've spent more money then half the people in this thread have earned in their lives on things like games, trips to E3, and family time to help build OS... to help Steve keep it afloat.... to write reviews... to write features... weekly articles... Blogs....
I dedicate more time to OS then I do to Sports Gaming!!! I've been gaming for as long as there has been gaming and I've lost a ton of my passion for it over the last 5 or 6 years because I see it from the OS side first before anything else. If THAT is my true colors... guilty.
Please... don't persecute me for giving a **** about this site. You have no idea!
Again, thanks for the hard work you guys continue to put into the site. Look at it this way...If it weren't such a great site, there wouldn't have been such a reaction to the change.Mario Kart Wii: 1203 9969 5095

Re: Everything Else Forum Removed
I think you have lost touch with this site... In the downtimes of seasonal sports, the Everything Else forum was the one constantly jumping area on the site... There's nothing wrong with people unloading their problems, their triumphs here... Like I said earlier, I posted about the loss of my father two years ago in that forum... It wasn't like I didn't have other outlets to express my grief... I had family, friends that I could turn to... Remembering the outpouring of support at that time really helped me see the "community" aspect of this place.Originally posted by ycbsMaybe I've lost complete touch with this site, but I still think sports videogames are the heart of this site.
But, really, I think folks are moving on to acceptance... It is what it is... But it will be missed, for however long it's out of commission.Comment

in the past i have really enjoyed your posts.. mostly because of your humor etc.. but your response to bgarret really bothered me. it was in the heat of the moment i guess, just seeing such a stern response from a person who donated to an online fourm. but its the next morning.. and i feel totally different than last night when it first came to be. just ignore that i ever said those things if you would please and continue your barbed responses.Originally posted by Clay_OSWhat are my true colors?????

People: Stupid! I want my money back!
Me: You're not owed your money back. Donating is not purchasing
People: Waaa... Waaaa...
Me: Get over it
Why can't I have my opinions?
Why is me thinking it's not a big deal and different than people here thinking it is?
If anyone places false power on the Staff at OS... it's the Users... not the Staff itself. The Staff are Posters also. They get to have opinions. Some of them won't be popular.Listen to The Remodeling Clay Podcast!
