RIP EE forum. You helped me through a bunch of mindless hours waiting for experiments to be completed at the NIH.

Not to resurrect the thread, but it seems that a lot of users that were always here are not as much...

This thing has to be a little more loose. We should still be able to talk about school, X-Mas, weather...Last edited by Vince; 12-16-2005, 11:27 PM.Comment

I dont see why we cant discuss personal stuff like that in the OS Neighborhood forum. It would qualify as "Get to know the OS Staff and fellow OS'ers."Originally posted by Vinceanity2k3This thing has to be a little more loose. We should still be able to talk about school, X-Mas, weather...Comment

That's what the daily "What's Up" thread takes care of. It's a little harder to follow because everything gets mushed into one thread, but it's not bad."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: Everything Else Forum Removed
I gotta say, to me it kinda sucks that that EE forum is gone. I mean, that just means no 2006 Babe Showdown!
I also gotta say that part of me doesn't really care. I actually was going less and less to EE. Seemed like it was endless threads about somebody's new album or yet another girl advice thread. It seems like the EE forum has steadily gone downhill in the last year or so. It actually was better when we DID discuss religoin, politics, etc.
The one thing I can understand though is the sense of community that's been established. True most of us were drawn here for sports/sports gaming. And I still do 95% of my posting in these forums. However there have been some relationships established over time. And the community themselves I think are what makes OS different from other sources.
Sports and Videogames are the center, no doubt. But the community is important too. I guess more people will be using the Chatroom now?PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: Everything Else Forum Removed
Maybe it's just me, but I enjoy discussing the NFL, College Football, Hockey, Videogames, etc...with the OS community much more than I do "What holes someone's girlfriend is taking it in". In the end, does the change effect the OS community? Maybe. However, the impact isn't as significant as some are making it out to be.Originally posted by JisticThe one thing I can understand though is the sense of community that's been established. The majority of the discussion in the EE forum revolved around entertainment, which we now have a forum for. The OS Neighborhood forum can handle some "light" personal discussion. For those that prefer to get intimate, there's the daily "What's Up?" thread.Comment

Re: Everything Else Forum Removed
Well the some that is making it a big deal (not me, even though I do disagree with the decision), are the members of the board, which is in fact the OS community.Originally posted by SullyIn the end, does the change effect the OS community? Re: Everything Else Forum Removed
Wow, I'm not on the site for a couple days and I miss all of this.
I don't agree with the decision, but it's not my choice to make either.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers

Re: Everything Else Forum Removed
I think what Sully is trying to say is, we can do without certain types of discussion without negatively impacting the OS community. All the good stuff is still allowed in the Entertainment forum or OS Neighborhood.Originally posted by ILLCHILLWell the some that is making it a big deal (not me, even though I do disagree with the decision), are the members of the board, which is in fact the OS community.Comment

Re: Everything Else Forum Removed
The EE forum has been my favorite for a long time. Sure not every thread is a good one, but why change it? No question the change doesn't improve the site. At best its just a lateral move. Change for the sake of change, not for improvment I guess.Comment

Re: Everything Else Forum Removed
This has to have been the most entertaintining and funniest thread i ever read on this site.
RIP EE forum, you did more harm than good, such assanine questions and replies, it became a crutch for many on this site.
The site still has developers on and they answer questions, it has SPORTS forums, this aint myspace this aint friendster this and facebook its about sports.
I may be in the minority, but i think its a very savy and sound move.Comment
