I am finding the game much easier than 17. I'm on legendary level in career mode as Sheffield Wednesday and every game is so one sided. I moved up from world class because that was too easy and now I find the same on top level.
In five games the cpu has scored one goal. They haven't had a single shot from outside the box. The cpu keeps giving the ball away and it's getting monotonous.
I've tried the sliders in a variety of combinations to no avail.
The demo wasn't like this. The full game isn't anything like the demo.
Has anyone else found the game like this?

It does feel easier, but I think it might be because it's less janky, and the AI can't win the ball, and then move it on a counter as quickly.

One piece of good news is that cpu teams in MM seem to field their best starting XI now. I did a combination of exploring this through simming Champions League matches and using the Import Team Sheet viewer to examine it. Finally every single team I looked at was starting their best GK, and best players were all in the starting XI and the rest on the bench.

The bad is that I don't know if there are any injuries to other teams, or at least for other teams not in your league (it may have always been like this), and the starting XI is still very rigid based on position. So if Man U is deploying a formation with no "CM" and two "CDM's," Carrick is going to start over Pogba at the second CDM spot. However, unlike in the past, Pogba will be on the bench and not dropped from the team entirely.

Similarly, it is rigidly based on overall. Hence why you see Ibra starting over Lukaku in the attached screenshot. It's still an improvement from the crappy and nonsensical starting XI's of past editions, and editing the formation and players outside of career mode can easily be done to maximize who the cpu uses.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for simming out a few years.
I'm going to spend my last hour doing the same.

There are injuries to teams outside your league. I saw the AI lose a few players for prolonged times. I was using Everton, and I saw in the top news thing that Barcelona lost Messi for 4 months. Monaco lost Lemar for a month. And I think a couple others.

So far I'm not seeing anything odd. In 2021 I'm not seeing any position hording on the big clubs. There's some turnover, and some players who I believe are too old to be on some of the top clubs, but the nonsensical transfers seem to be fixed.

As far as Man U's strikers to start 2021, they have Lukaku and Harry Kane, but then there are no world class players beyond that. They have two other strikers who I believe are both youth regens or something. One is rated 62 and the other 59.

EDIT: I have to say I absolutely hate the transfer negotiation cutscene system. It's just a worthless and unnecessary layer to the process. It's also just generic and irritating. It's like an attempt at pretending significant attention was paid to career mode. It's just bad design when the player has to skip through the same small talk sequences over and over in order to get to a radial menu of options, and then menu through a couple more options in order to complete the negotiation. As stale as it was before, the old, quick and dirty, menu-ing was a far better user experience.

However, I do think the little animated news alerts are a positive example of added detail, and provide some life and immersion without detracting from the user experience.

I recommend using the delegation 'feature'. It works fairly well, because you can set a hard line price where you won't go any lower or higher. That way they deal with it and you can just say yes or no.

I think we're seeing a shift here, and it is completely unexpected.
I went back and watched a bit. It was nice to see up struggle with crosses with Napoli's tiny frontline. I can't imagine how often I've seen Dries Mertens win headers against me in PES

Can someone please confirm if Tournament mode (League and Custom) is still in the game? I've looked everywhere and can't find an answer.
