Walcott's a beast for me, beats defenders of the flanks and brings in great crosses. If you could wait 'till next summer or have enough cash.... Reus or Draxler would be nice signings. Draxler has a 4/5 star weak foot so no problem in his natural LM position and Reus is an absolute beast.

Draxler costs less but Reus is obviously the better player so Walcott and cash could get you them.

I suggest Draxler over Reus. They are both great but Draxler is more realistic AND he is a frikkin beast. That 5 star weak foot and 4 star skills is amazing and he is so OP even when starting career mode even better when you sign him when he is around 85 overall... I did that when he was 23 yo and 85 ovr an he grew to 87 by the end of the season and is an absolute monster. Crosses brilliantly with both feet and scores from range with both. Also very effective at both wings and CAM

How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Since I havnt heard back from you guys about my youth project I decided to tweak the rules a bit. Allowed to use any U/21 player from Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal excluding those with over 70 ovr
Will use ALL Man Utd U/21's seeing that I am a big fan

OR I want your guys opinion... Should I do this with:
A certain nationality? (If so which one)
      A certain league?
      A certain team?
      Mixture of big 5 leagues?

      Suggestions please guys!!
Would love to do something like this where I customise squads and don't make any signings myself except youth squad that I build myself

I would always advise you to do anything you find interesting. Personally I enjoy reading anything that doesn't follow the usual template of: win everything in season one, buy best young players, rinse and repeat ad nauseum.

I've always been intrigued by possibly trying the old Football Manager challenge of making no signings and adding only your own academy graduates on FIFA, if starting with your own hand picked group of players makes it more enjoyable for you then go for it. Lower league games can be a grind if you're stuck with unfamiliar players who you're not particularly invested in .

Reasons: BPL is my favourite league and to play with u/19 reserve players from it and starting at League 2 and only adding scouted players along the way would be great. Took the 5 "big" teams because I know their youth players best and it limits my options a bit. TBH this squad isn't premier league winning material, even if they all reach their full potential, so adding scouted players will be key and a great challenge to only do that. Will put Man Utd in League 2 with these players and buy scouts with the money. Current Utd players will all be put in their respective clubs that they were part of before joining Man Utd or the clubs that they are currently being linked with IRL.

The Utd transfer budget WILL NOT be used to purchase any players except youth squad players.

Will post a few updates every weekend on this career mode and I hope you guys enjoy it!

This is my favorite as well. I started mine with Bury and have built my club up through my academy. I like to think of my players as being the club legends that will always be remembered by the fans.

In the year 2020 now and my starting XI looks like this ratings wise.

            GK - 90
            RB - 79
            CB - 80
            CB - 81
            LB - 77
            CM - 81
            CM - 87
            LM - 81
            RM - 80
            CF - 79
            ST - 83

and several solid subs as well. It makes it feel so much more accomplished to have brought these players up and really feel like they are a part of my club and it's now fictional history.

I actually got both on mine (was a lot of bargaining and negotiations, traded in some also)...
Both are actually beasts but Reus doesn't do as well in crossing like Draxler although Reus scores a good lot, Draxler, even for me, is the better buy, even if you get him at 81. He is a beast, agree with you.

To the one who was asking for suggestions to fix up his left flank, another solid player that's a realistic Gunner signing is Griezmann but I don't feel him as much as the two Germans.

I've done this with the past few fifas, it's the only cm I ever stay interested enough to make it past season 2.

The only difference is instead of sending out Chelsea players to clubs they are linked with, I just spread them out to a few random epl clubs and then just straight swap the remaining squad with a league 2 team. It's a lot of work but it ends up making the epl more competitive in the long run. By the time I get to the premier league there are usually 8 clubs fighting for those top 4 spots.

Hey. I was wondering if it would be all right if I could do something like this and post it along with my Liverpool Career. It sounds like a really cool idea to try, possibly extending it to more than the top 5.

If your interested in doing it there is nothing stopping you
I was going to do the whole league but I wanted to limit it to top 5 because I know their youth players better and the whole BPL youth there are too many good ones for what I am trying to do

                        My Question to You:

Are there any players you feel deserve more/less playtime?

Give your youth players like Toral, Akpom and Eisfield games in the Capital One Cup and FA Cup
Whenever I am a big team I try to limit my Cup games to just my really young inexperienced players and see how far I can get.
Try to do it in the second cup because the board objectives are only for the first cup on your calendar month (for example if there is a FA Cup game before a Capital One Cup game then you only need to meet the board objectives for the FA Cup and vice versa)
                        Hope this helps

                          Season Preview: West Bromwich Albion

It's tough to know where to peg the 2014/15 West Brom side. Last season the consensus was that they underachieved in finishing 17th, the season prior 8th was though to be performing beyond their relatively modest means. That they were forced to undertake something of a minor squad make over this summer only muddied the waters. Though their response to the early season cull of eleven senior players wasn't as dramatic as the 9 or 10 incoming players many suggested they would need, Albion still added six new faces to their squad, a significant number.

                          Tranfers In:
Matteo Musacchio - Villarreal - Free
                          Ben Davies - Swansea - £2.5m
                          Sam Byram - Leeds United - £2m
                          Jordon Mutch - Cardiff - £2.5m
                          Ryo Miyaichi - Arsenal - £1m
                          Cedrick - Betis -£2m

It's claimed that the new boys have injected a freshness and energy into a squad battle weary after last season's trials and tribulations. Certainly it feels like a more dynamic group than when former technical director Dave McDonagh added the likes of Nicolas Anelka, Diego Lugano, Goran Popov et al last summer. But with that comes the caveat of risk. Musacchio and Cedrick have never played in England and will need time to settle, Byram has never played in the Premier League, Miyaichi has made only cameos for Arsenal and Jordon Mutch was relegated last season.

                          Predicted Line-up
                          Foster
                          Byram - Musacchio - Olsson - Davies
                          Mulumbu - Yacob
                          Miyaichi - Sessegnon - Brunt
                          Berahino

Certainly Albion look stronger defensively now, Musacchio exudes quality and calmness at the heart of the defence and the full backs bring the pace and stamina that were lacking last season. The worry is can they score enough goals. Saido Berahino showed glimpses of his huge potential last term, but asking him to lead the line with only Victor Anichebe as back up is a big ask and puts a large burden on the trio behind to carve out presentable chances.

One thing this Albion squad does have is a sprinkling of home grown young players. Obviously Berahino is the jewel in the academies crown, but Bradley Garmston, Craig Noone and Gary Ritchie all played significant parts during pre-season and can expect to see time on the pitch this season.

                          Full Squad
                          GK - Foster 79 / Myhill 72 / Rose 56
                          LB - Davies 74 / Garmston 63
                          RB - Byram 71 / Noone 71*
                          CB - Olsson 76 / Dawson 71
                          CB - Musacchio 80 / McAuley 71
                          DM - Yacob 78 / Ritchie 75*
                          DM - Mulumbu 77 / Morrison 73
                          LAM - Brunt 74 / Cedrick 71
                          CAM - Sessegnon 77 / Mutch 74
                          RAM - Miyaichi 71 / Dorrans 73
                          ST - Berahino 71 / Anichebe 72

                            PSV

                            De Telegraaf
                            AUGUST 9th

Tonight is a historic night for PSV, in their 100th year since their creation, for the first time ever the first Non-European Manager will mange a competitive match for PSV. We caught up with Jake Gaspar for a one on one interview yesterday after their three pre-season games.

Reporter: One win, one lost and one draw in preseason. what do you think?
Me: I saw promising signs in all three games we didn't field out a strong side in the first game and to get a clean sheet was very nice, unfortunately we didn't score. The second game tested me, we played a great first half leading 1-0. However we got lazy and let two goals in from bad defending. The third game I felt sorry for Patrice Garande. They dominated us, However they didn't capitalise. Jeroen (Zoet) played like a world class goalkeeper and in the end Memphis (Depay) scored a nice goal late on to get us the W.

Reporter: In your first press conference you said don't be surprised if you made a signing. Well you bought Clasie from Feyenoord for around seven million euros. Not cheap, why did you sign him? Was it to replace Strootman?
Me: You can't replace a player like Strootman he is one step away from being world class. We needed a midfielder that could track back and help the defenders. Jordy (Clasie) I thought could do that job and thats why we spent the money.
Reporter: do you think he has done that job?
Me: In the two games he has played he has done a great job. During his first game (second friendly) I thought he was a third centre back. I think he will play an important role in our hunt for success during this season.

Reporter: The Injuries to Tytoń and Locadia have tested your depth in the team. Will they be back in time for the game against Roda JC?
Me: Prze (Tytoń) will be in the squad for Roda but Jürgen (Locadia) won't he is still a few weeks away. Thank god it was only a sprained knee. We all thought he had done something bad.

Reporter: Thanks for the time and good luck against Roda.
                            Me: Thank you.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Hey guys, long time. I finished my project earlier than expected. Things went really well, and I'm going to have loads of free time over the next 2-3 months.

Unfortunately, I've kind of lost interest in my Sunderland career having been away from it for so long. I booted it up today to see what my brother got up to while I was away, and he's in summer of season seven with a budget of £120 million having won trebles the two seasons prior. The kid left me a front three of Balotelli, Neymar and a glitched Tom Ince (88 OVR).

So I want to announce that I'm going to be doing a new career mode with Brighton & Hove Albion. Not only do their kits look sharp, but their stadium is mint. The Amex seats just over 30,000 but could probably be expanded to 40,000 seats without much hassle. In addition, Brighton isn't burdened with as much debt as some other English clubs. Last I checked, they have losses of about £15 million.

But what does that mean for my career mode? You all know I love realism and interesting angles, so here's the deal. Promotion to the EPL (and staying there) would significantly boost Brighton's attendance and matchday revenues. And what top-class footballer wouldn't want to live by the beach in a town with warm, sunny weather? I'm going to make sure that once the debt is paid off, the club evolves into one of England and Europe's finest footballing forces. How? You'll have to read to find out.

Ah, it's good to be back.
