I did a similar thing that I posted earlier and used custom squads with some of the best u/19's in the BPL

      LIVERPOOL CAREER MODE

      Match 11

      Sunderland 0-4 Liverpool
      Sturridge 2
      Sterling 50
      Mangala 62
      Sturridge 87

Sturridge opened the scoring with a terrific volley from a ball by Rakitic. Sterling extended the lead placing it into the corner around Mannone. Mangala then headed in a corner emphatically. Sturridge got his second after he turned Celutska and fired in.

      Champions League Match 4

      Liverpool 2-0 Brondby IF
      Suarez 13
      Suarez 44

Suarez scored first after heading in a Sterling cross and the double his tally by tapping in a hard and low ball in by Sturridge.

      Match 12

      Liverpool 0-0 Fulham
Stekelenberg kept Fulham in the match saving everything. Suarez hit the bar with a free kick in the last chance of the game.

      Match 13

      Aston Villa 1-0 Liverpool
      Helenius 74
An unfortunate goal to concede after the ball floated over everyone onto the Villa man's head.

      Match 14

      Liverpool 1-0 Swansea
      Suarez 61
We broke the deadlock when a run of loads of passes found Suarez to curl in at the far post. Ruffier made loads of saves to keep us out for most of the game.

      Champions League Match 5

      FC Porto 1-1 Liverpool
      Martinez 8
      Ings 73

Playing a weakened side, Martinez knocked in after a looping header went over the whole defence. Allen tackled and played through to Ings, who slotted into the bottom corner, booking our place in the last 16.

      Match 15

      Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool
      Sterling 49
      Ivanovic 72
      Matic 78

An unfortunate defeat. We gave it everything but now they are 10 points clear. Sterling gave us the lead with a diving header on the rebound but from a corner, David Luiz's header found Ivanovic to toe poke in at the near post. Matic then ran clear on the counter and smashed in.

To make things worse, Verratti has picked up an injury in training that will keep him out for 3 weeks

I've done that as well, but I did under 21s. But still it was very fun for those 5-6 years. I think it's more fun to do it with Rangers and put them into League 2.

            LIVERPOOL CAREER MODE

            Match 16

            Liverpool 3-2 Burnley
            Jones 3
            Suarez 16
            Fernando 28
            Vokes 57
            Sturridge 72

Burnley took the lead early on when Jones was played through to smash in at the near post. Suarez levelled it with a nice curling effort before Fernando was played through beautifully to finesse in. Vokes equalised after a defensive mix up left him in front of the open goal. Sturridge won it when he ran clear and prodded it in.

            Champions League Match 6

            PSG 0-2 Liverpool
            Allen 87
            McManaman 90

We broke the deadlock late on when a great pass by Flanagan found Ings, but Douchez made a grat save, only for Allen to volley in. McManaman then broke free in stoppage time and curled it round the keeper.

            Match 17

            Southampton 1-4 Liverpool
            Gerrard 5
            Sturridge 23
            Osvaldo 50
            Suarez 76
            Sturridge 88

Gerrard scored first when he found space and smashed it into the top corner. Sturridge then ran clear and slid it into the corner. Osvaldo got one back with a terrific volley on the rebound but Suarez scored his own rebound volley, after his shot was saved and then so was Sturridge's header. Sturridge then ran clear, stopped the ball and smashed into the top corner.

            Match 18

            Liverpool 2-0 Stoke
            Sturridge 28
            Mangala 41

Sturridge opened the scoring when he cut inside and smacked it in off the post. Mangala then headed in from a corner.

            Match 19

            West Brom 0-2 Liverpool
            Sturridge 37
            Sturridge 68

Sturridge scored first with a strike into the top corner and then a cross by De Sciglio found Sturridge's head for 2-0.

            Next Match: NORWICH

You should manually change the players that you're not gonna keep on the team using customize squads. That way, once you start the career in League 2 you won't be a 5 star team anymore and your objectives won't be crazy high. Also, the press and board could get mad if you're selling off all your best players and replacing them with low overall players. The game won't understand what you're doing. So change your players manually, and then since City has a high budget use that budget to buy any player you want to bring in. Assuming they're gonna be low overall players for the first couple seasons it won't eat up your budget.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Heres what I am doing... Starting a CM with Carlisle United (recently relegated from league 1 IRL) I am going to gut their roster to their current 11 person roster via wikipedia and their website.. Then Im going to fill the missing wholes with F/A players I think fit in nicely. Then im going to relegate them to league 2 and go nuts.. I will be recording and posting videos, its going to be extremely realistic and a tough journey.. The goal is to make it to the BPL.

                    Carlisle United
                    Manager - Jason Kiefaber
                    Pitch - Brunton Park

Someone please help to get interest in career mode again. After 2-3 seasons of playing I get sort of bored because I am dominating everything and there seems like there is no challenge. Someone help me pick a new team to use that was fun in your opinion whether its using mostly youth players from the academy or a league 2 team, someone just please tell me what you find/found really fun. P.s I play on semi-pro cause I am just horrible at high difficulty.

Try any of the sliders from the main forum. Those would definitely help you with the "easy" part of playing. I would suggest moving Rangers FC into League 2 of the English league. Many people have done it and it's very fun and challenging to bring them into the Premier League. Plus, they have only youth talent, so you'll be able to see players grow every season.

If not Rangers, try out 1860 Munich in the 2nd tier of the German league. They have the same stadium as Bayren Munich (because in real life they share the stadium) and they have good youth talent also.

Sturridge got a perfect hat trick, cutting inside and hitting with his right, the nodding in a cross from Sterling and finally hitting a thunderbolt with his left. In the midst of this, Verratti had broke free and rifled in from close range.
