Do you expect any bit of a let off of the gas pedal in the league with the Cup final coming nearer and nearer?

Thanks! I'm trying not to ease up on the league since I still want to shoot for the league title, but it's starting to feel like the other teams already know now to play against me. The matches are getting much tougher now and it reminded me of what Indi said a while back about having to switch up the formation and tactics every once in a while because it feels like the other teams catch on to them. I'm thinking about playing the B team in the match before the cup final in order to give my first team enough rest. There is 3 rest days in between the two matches which should be enough for the players to rest up, but I want them to be at 100%.

"Now that we have that out of the way, I want to discuss the transfer policy. Indi, care to run me through your proposal?"

"Thank you, sir. You know that we want to build up long-term for this club, and as Mr. Bell has pointed out, our transfer policy is going to be one of the most important things in that. We don't have the kind of money to do what Chelsea is doing, but we don't want to end up like Liverpool. We still need to focus on young players, but we have to exercise greater discretion."

"I'm with you on that 100%."

"One more thing. I'd like all our players to be British. We owe it primarily to the English national side, but also to the greater UK culture. Others may or may not follow our lead, but it'll only be good for the game in this country."

"Indi, I'm from Serbia. If I don't understand patriotism and nationalism, who will? You're absolutely right when you say that we do have to consider our obligation to the country we all live and work in. That said, I must also do my part for my nation. That's why I would like you to look at Serbian players."

"They're not cheap, Mr. Mandaric. And the learning curve for English could take a while to overcome."

"You let me handle the finances, Indi, and the English lessons as well."

"Very well, we'll look at Serbian players, too."

"Now suppose you don't find a British player who fits the bill? What then? And what about the players who are still here?"

"None of the boys who are already here are subject to this, obviously. I think anyone who's already here has earned the right to stay if they prove they're good enough. However, if we do look to bring someone in and can't find a British player who fits our profile and budget, we'll look to countries with cultures similar to that of the UK."

        "What about temporary players?"

"I think we don't need to apply these restrictions to anyone who's not going to be part of the bigger picture. I want a cohesive, common cultural basis for the players who are going to be at this club permanently and for the long term. A short-term solution doesn't have to come from one of these countries, but it must be someone who's familiar with the European game."

"Indi, I think we are on the right track. I'd like you to draw up a formal proposal for this transfer policy for me, if you'd be so kind."

"Sure thing, boss. Can I have it ready by day after?"

"That would be perfect. I'm looking forward to it. Oh, and one more thing."

        "What's that, Mr. Mandaric?"

"Please don't make life difficult for the Serbian boys, if you understand what I mean?"

        "Sure thing, boss."

        SWFC Transfer Policy

        1. Signings, whether permanent or on loan, must be from England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Serbia, Republic of Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada, or USA. Loanees from these nations may return for subsequent seasons, and permanent signings are eligible for contract renewals.

        2. At least 51% of the squad must be aligned with the England national team, and at least one player must align with the Serbian national team.

        3. Any player from a country not listed above can join on a short-term basis if he holds European nationality, or has been with a European club for at least three seasons prior. However, loanees may not return for a second season, and permanent signings are limited to one-year contracts without extension. There is no restriction to the number of players who fall under this category, so long as the criteria in point 2 are fulfilled.

        4. Any player signed prior to his 19th birthday or through the club's youth academy is considered a homegrown talent, and will be considered eligible for a permanent contract regardless of nationality.

        5. Croatian, Bosnian, and Albanian players are off-limits altogether.

        6. Players who are already at the club and who do not satisfy these criteria will be phased out beginning at the end of the first seasons. For example, a Portuguese player with a one-year contract will not be given an extension, while a Cameroonian with a three-year deal must be sold or released in summer 2015.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

@Indi: Man the build up for this is insane. Can't wait to see how you approach these updates once games start. Good to see you set your transfer policy, I had a feeling you would go with a British one, although the Serbian factor is interesting.

@Falaph: Back to the form I was expecting! The lead table is quite the spectacle haha. I wonder which month you had actually secured the league in. If my math is right, that makes 33 wins, 4 draws, and 0 losses. Çiftçi is tearing it up as well which is good to see!

@Keano: Strong start to the month, but a tough finish against some top clubs. Glad to see you are still in the top 4 in league play and top 2 in your Europa League group though. Obviously it is still really early so anything can happen this season. I'm really looking forward to a deep Europa League run from you though!

@Jamie: What an amazing end to the season. To go from thinking you had lost out to Chelsea, to Liverpool saving you at the last possible second. Glad to see you didn't let Chelsea steal YOUR title! Crazy that Villa finished only a point behind Chelsea, and 3 points off the title.

@Moose: Good to see Carroll in such good form, I feel like he is always a key factor for you in the past couple editions of FIFA. I am really impressed by your defense right now, something I have been struggling with personally lately. It always feels a little more rewarding when you grind out wins like that rather than just blowing teams away.

@Vrabbit: This season will be one we will all be following closely. I feel you should have set your goals a little higher though In all seriousness though, you have the squad that is capable of doing great things. Your only starter that isn't an 80+ OVR is your LB and he is still pretty close. Nice signing in Courtois, he should be a wall back there for you. Can't wait to see how this turns out. Treble or bust!

                January 2018 Transfers
                Inspired by Indi

                December 25th, 2017

We had just beaten QPR in the league and I was in the bus with the rest of the team, about a fifteen-minute drive away from the office. The board wanted to talk about something. That's when I got a call from my agent, Mino. Yes, that's mister Mino Raiola himself. How can a young and inexperienced manager like me have such an amazing agent like him, you may be wondering. Well, we met during my first season with Verona in a restaurant after a game with Juventus. We talked a bit and he said that he sees something special in me which lead to a contract between us two.

                "Mino, what's going on?"

                "Your team was sh*t today."

                Ah, typical Mino.

"Listen, if I wanted to know your opinion I would've asked for it. I tried to call you for a reason earlier. Come meet me at the office in half an hour. And don't use your car, you need to lose weight."

                "Fu*k you."

                ----------------------------

To be honest, I don't like the bosses very much. Sir Alex is the only exception but he's also the only one who communicates with me outside of work. Now those greedy pigs wanted to see me. God knows why.

"You wanted to see me, mister and mister Glazer."

"That's right. We trust you completely, but we don't think that it's a good idea to let our best defensive midfielder go, especially if you want to replace him with an attacking minded player like Arda Turan, Koke or Luka Modric."

"Nemanja is getting old and he hasn't been good this season. Arturo is a very good player and he can play everywhere in the midfield which includes the defensive part of it."

"Yes, we know that well but don't you think it's a bit risky?"

"Of course it is. This is football. Now, with all due respect, I'm the manager of the team and if I recall correctly I was the man who lead this team to four titles last season. I can resign every moment and let you destroy the team. The coice is yours."

Those two really pissed me off. I know it's risky to talk like that to the most influencial persons in the organization but I had to do that.

"I think you should trust him."

Finally someone who believes in me. Luckily for me it's no other than Alex Ferguson himself.

"Uhm, right, you're the manager and the decision is yours. Of course. Go ahead but be careful."

I turned and started walking out of the office.

"Oh, and by the way, the fifteen million you've given isn't enough."

I didn't feel too confident. Manchester didn't feel like a great place to manage in anymore. I had felt like that for the past few months and my wife wanted to live somewhere where it's sunny and warm. That's also why I wanted to talk with Mino. He was waiting for me outside of the office.

                "What's so important?

"I don't feel like Manchester United is the right club for me. I can't explain why, it just doesn't feel right."

"Are you fu*king serious? You're living the dream, managing the biggest club in the world."

"That isn't my dream. The club is too big for me and there's way too much pressure coming from everywhere. I want to move away from here after this season."

                "You're crazy."

"And you're fat. Welcome to life."

                ------------------------

                January 4th, 2018

I was interested in signing Luka Modric since the summer but we weren't able to do so. When I contacted Real Madrid they just asked coldly for forty-five million euros. We didn't have that much money but RM didn't have a good defensive midfielder. I decided to offer Nemanja Matic, who had been told that he should prepare for a move, and four million euros. A couple hours later I received a call.

"Señor, the amount of money offered is too low. Luka is the best midfielder in the world and we want fifteen million plus Matic for him."

Greedy bastards. Like they don't have a rich and crazy grandpa leading the club.

"He might be one of the best midfielders but he's also 32 years old. He has about two years left in him and after that you won't get anything for him. Manchester United is willing to go up to ten million for him but if you decline the offer you won't get anything. No Matic, no money. Nothing."

It didn't surprise me when two day later I received an interesting email where Real Madrid told us that the player is happy to move and that they want ten million for him. The following day Luka flew to Manchester for the medical which went well. Then we had to sign the contract.

"Alright, mister Modric. The contract is for two years and we are offering you five thousand euros less per week than what you get in Madrid. On the other hand, you will receive big bonuses for every trophy that you win, the amounts and other details can be found here. Manchester United football club will also make sure that you get housekeepers and a beautiful apartment."

Come on, sign the paper already. Luka turned to his agent said something to him in Croatian.

"My client is very happy to sign the contract and to be part of your club."

Hell yeah! We just replaced a good midfielder with one of the best ones available.

                ------------------------------

                January 17th, 2018

I was sitting in my office, preparing for our next game. That's when I received an email from Bayern München.

"Fussball Club Bayern München is interested in the availability of the goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois."

I whipped out my iPhone and called Thibaut's agent.

"Listen, Bayern want to sign Thibaut. Ask him what the thinks about that and call me back."

A few minutes later he called me.

"Go ahead with the deal and contact us when you're ready with the deal."

Then I replyed to Bayern, asking for seventy-five million which is twice as much as we payed for him. Two hours later a bomb landed: they were ready to pay that for him and the next day Thibaut Courtois was officially part of Bayern München. Now we needed to sign a new keeper. There were two options: Manuel Neuer, the best in the world from Bayern, and Hugo Lloris from Juventus. I made offers for both of them but we wanted Manuel from the first second. It was upsetting when they asked for eighty million but after a douzen of phone calls and negoatiating we were able to offer them sixty million and Javier Hernandez. He was our best player in my first season but after that he started playing very poorly and this season he was dropped to the reserves. The deal was the best option for both of us.

Manuel didn't want to relocate which made the negoatiating tough. At the end we had to pay him a lot more than what he was earning at Bayern to join us but I'm sure he'll prove to be worth it.

                ----------------------------

                January 26th, 2018

                Another email, again from Bayern.

"Let's see... an offer of thirty million... for Phil Jones. Interesting. That's a lot of money for our third-choice centre half but could we get more?"

I decided to talk with Mino about it.

"Hey, you fat prick, Bayern just offered thirty mill for Jonesy. I want to accept the offer but we might be able to get a bit more. What do you think?"

"Thirty million for Phil Jones? Accept that offer right now before they realise what they're doing."

And that's what I did. Only two days later we received the money. Wazza got injured in our last game and Rob Firmino wasn't in good form so I decided to buy an attacking midfielder and an English defender to replace Jones. Our scouts suggested Eric Dier and Stephen Caulker. I didn't ask them about an attacking midfielder because I had someone in mind. Someone, who had been our target since last year's winter:
Francisco Román Alarcón Suárez, or simply Isco. The Spaniard was another Real Madrid player and I wanted him a lot. Real wanted thirty-eight million for him which was more than we were able to pay. Firmino wasn't happy and Real Madrid is a dream of every player. He was glad to move to Spain so I threw a bid of twenty million and him at RM. And they accepted the deal on 30th, the second to last day of the transfer window.

Meanwhile we had reached an agreement for Dier's deal. I was his manager in Verona for a few months and he was a great player. Now I would manage him in Manchester.

"Ten thousand per week more than at Spurs, role of a third-choice centre back after Ramos and Hummels and bonuses... anything else?"

"Looks good. I'm very happy to sign this deal."

Of course you are. You're joining Manchester United and you'll get a lot of money.

On deadline day Isco arrived for the contract. We offered him a lot of money to join us because there wasn't much time left. Luckily for us he accepted the first deal.

I would call this a successful transfer window.

                Spoiler

I know this is a very long post and I tried to make it shorter. I know it's not as interesting as Indi's but I wanted to try this. January results wil be posted later today or tomorrow.

After an impressive first season in the Bundesliga, the board decided to reward Tex Bumosix with a handsome transfer budget. Having spent his first season in the Bundesliga having no increase in transfer budget from the first year in charge, his success gave the board faith that their position in the top tier will be on a more permanent basis. Bumosix will be prudent in his application of the funds, looking to improve the problem areas, and not overspending on unnecessary players.

                    Transfers In

CM, Melker Hallberg 20 years old (69 OVR) - €1,700,000 from Udinese

Swedish born Melker Hallberg is a young midfielder who most recently played for Udinese. Spending only 2 years in Kalmar FF's youth system, he became the youngest player in club history to make his debut at 16 years old and became the 4th youngest goalscorer in Allsvenskan history. He made his way to Udinese in 2014 and continues his development against higher competition. With St. Pauli looking for midfielders who can contribute in the attack, Hallberg appears to be a bargain option that could be exactly what they need.

LM, Timo Werner 20 years old (74 OVR) - €10,000,000 from VFB Stuttgart

The most high profile prospect to have joined St. Pauli, Timo Werner has agreed to a move from VFB Stuttgart for a club record transfer fee. Having been at Stuttgart since his youth starting in 2002, Werner established himself as one of the most promising young players in Germany. He announced himself on the senior scene when he became the youngest player in Bundesliga history to score a brace. Bumosix will be looking to pair him with Nikolas Storm on the wings to create a deadly attacking combination with his strikers. Werner will be handed the vacant #11 shirt, a sign that he will be factored into the first team right away.

CB, Jonathan Tah 20 years old (72 OVR) - €5,000,000 from Hamburger SV

The third and final player to join in this transfer window. Jonathan Tah is a young central defender who came through cross town rival Hamburger SV's academy, becoming a regular senior team contributor in 2013 before being sent out on loan to Fortuna Dusseldorf for the 2014/15 season. He makes the second central defender from Hamburger SV to join St. Pauli in this window after the pre-contract arrival of Lasse Sobiech, creating a partnership that already has experience next to each other. At 6'4" Tah is known for his strength and ability to push forwards around. With the poor defensive form to end last season, it is no surprise to see Bumosix spend big on a defender to try to solve the problems in the back line.

                    Press Conference

Q: After being rewarded by the board for your impressive first Bundesliga season and Europa League berth, you used the funds to immediately break the club transfer record two times in just this one window. How big of an impact must these players have to justify their cost?

A: That would be Timo Werner and Jonathan Tah you are referring too. They are both immensely talented players, and will be players who can contribute and improve our club for years to come. Timo is a special talent who will find ways to contribute all over the pitch for us, while Jonathan is a promising young player at one of our most problematic positions. Each of these players will grow into their roles nicely within the club, and I don't think it will take long for them to find a place in the squad.

Q: The three transfers completed in this window were all young, 20 year old players. Are you worried about the inexperience in these players that you are seemingly going to rely on this season?

A: I'm not worried about that. Yes, they are all young, but we have experience elsewhere in our squad. Each of these new signings is part of an effort to develop the future of the club. We don't just want to be good now, we want to be great for as long as possible. These players are all players who will only increase in their abilities, and each will justify their fee sooner rather than later.

Q: Adding Jonathan Tah to your pre-contract agreement to bring in Lasse Sobiech this season give you two new defenders both from your cross-town rivals, Hamburger SV. If Hamburger SV was willing to let both go, especially to a rival, does that concern you that they may not be as good as you had hoped?

A: I have no doubts about their talents. We have personally seen what Lasse Sobiech can do after he spent a season with us on loan in the 2. Bundesliga, and Jonathan Tah certainly wasn't easy to pry away from them. The fact that these players know each other, and have experience together is a factor that really drew me in. Having a partnership that understands each other is vital in the defense, and we were hurt last season always trying to find a partnership. I envision that these two could finally solve that problem for us, and give us years of high quality defending.

                      Capital One Cup Match:

                      Exeter City 1 – Newcastle Utd 2

                      NEW – Cabella (30’)
Samuel Eto’o drifts into the box from the left and flicks the ball back to Remy Cabella who shoots first time with his weaker foot and it’s just inside the post. Nothing Glen Mabil could do about that...

                      NEW –De Jong (64’)
Samuel Eto’o whips the ball into the box from a free-kick and Siem de Jong rises above the rest to head the ball over the keeper and make it dip into the far corner.

                      EXE –Sinclair(PEN) / NEW – Janmaat (Two Yellows) (70’)
Moore-Taylor gives the ball to Aaron Dawson on the left who sprints into the penalty area. He tries to deliver a cross but a reckless challenge by Daryl Janmaat takes Dawson off his feet and it’s a penalty. Because Janmaat had a yellow for a previous foul he got a second and now Newcastle are down to ten men and Exeter City have a great chance to get back in the game. Jake Sinclair takes the penalty and shoots to the right, Tim Krul guesses the right way but he cannot reach it. Exeter are now back in this.

Our Best Performer: Liam Sercombe (This game was really disappointing. We should have got the equaliser easily. Jamie Reid hit the crossbar from a free-kick, Jordan Moore-Taylor found himself as a striker and unbelievably shot through the goalkeepers legs but only hits the post somehow. Appiah missed massive chances and provided awful crosses which all had too much on them. Liam Sercombe made great tackles in the midfield and was like a pacey Steven Gerrard with his amazing long and short passes.)

                      F.A Cup Match:

                      Exeter City 2 – AFC Wimbledon 0

                      EXE – Eastmond (43’)
Albian Ajeti runs down the left and cuts the ball back to Eastmond on the edge of the box who hits the ball first time and into the bottom left corner. Very sweetly taken!

                      EXE –Ajeti (89’)
Jake Sinclair gets tackled and the ball is passed back to the goalkeeper. He slips as he kicks the ball and the ball drops to Albian Ajeti who takes a touch and fires the ball into the empty goal.

                      Our Best Performer: Albian Ajeti

                      J. Paint Trophy Match:

                      Exeter City 1 – Northampton 0

                      EXE – Bell (1’)
Bell scores his first goal for the club and it’s very nice on the eye. Ajeti starts the game off and passes out to the left where Appiah holds the ball up and allows Bell to go on the overlap. Bell receives the ball and plays a one-two with Ajeti to allow him to get into space. Bell cuts in and drifts into the box where he slips the ball through the keeper’s legs and into the back of the net.

                      Our Best Performer: Amari’i Bell

                      SkyBet League One Match:

                      Rochdale 1 – Exeter City 2

                      EXE – Ajeti (10’)
Grimes sprints into the box and drifts to the right where he gets enough space to deliver a low ball to the back post where Albian Ajeti can slide in and poke the ball home. That’s Ajeti’s twentieth goal in all competitions this season!

                      EXE Appiah (25’)
For the latter part of some of the recent games, Bee has been experimenting by putting Appiah up top with Ajeti and it’s looking very promising indeed. Craig Woodman sprints down the left wing and his first attempt at a cross is blocked. His second floats into the box for Appiah to jump higher than his marker and head the ball into the bottom corner.

                      ROC Allen (44’)
Calvin Andrew is tackled by Pat Baldwin in the penalty area but the clearance is poor. The ball falls straight to Jamie Allen who can just place the ball into the far corner.

                      Our Best Performer: Craig Woodman

                      SkyBet League One Match:

                      Exeter City 1 – Brentford 0

                      EXE –Grimes (9’)
Grimes intercepts the ball in the midfield and charges at the defenders. Grimes does a few step-overs and manages to get past his marker. He strolls into the box before placing the ball into the near post.

                      BRE –PEN (10’)
Grigg wins the ball from Inniss in the penalty area and he tries to win it back but ends up just kicking Grigg. A penalty is rewarded and Grigg steps up. He smashes the ball straight down the middle and Glen Mabil easily saves it.

                      Our Best Performer: Matthew Grimes

                      SkyBet League One Match:

                      Exeter City 3 – Rochdale 0

                      EXE – Sinclair (11’)
Matthew Grimes spots the run of Jake Sinclair and opens up the defence with his through ball. Jake Sinclair takes a touch before lobbing the ball over the keeper and into the net.

                      EXE – Appiah (30’)
Craig Eastmond lifts the ball over the defence and into the run of Appiah from the left. Appiah drifts into the middle and curls the ball around the keeper and into the net.

                      EXE – Sinclair (84’)
Jamie Reid crosses the ball low into the middle where Jake Sinclair can easily tap the ball into the net.

                      Our Best Performer: Jake Sinclair

                      SkyBet League One Match:

                      Notts County 1 – Exeter City 4

                      EXE – Ajeti (12’)
Ajeti presses the defence and slides to win the ball back for Exeter City. The ball rolls to Ollie Watkins who puts the ball in front of Ajeti. At first, the goalkeeper looks favourite but due to Ajeti’s pace, he makes up for the gap and he manages to slide in and poke the ball underneath the keeper and across the line.

                      NOT – Haynes (16’)
Mustapha Dumbuya prods the ball to Liam Noble who is on the right corner of the box. Noble crosses the ball in over Moore-Taylor and to the middle where Danny Haynes simply heads the ball into the corner for a quick equaliser.

                      EXE Watkins (18’)
It looked like it was coming for Watkins as he steals the ball off of a defender and beats another two to be able to cut into the box and curl the ball around the keeper and into the top right corner. Great individual skill!

                      EXE Ajeti (60’)
Watkins passes the ball down the right wing for Jamie Reid who delivers an early cross which leaves the defenders for dead as Ajeti runs into space. Ajeti watches the ball carefully as it drops down and he hits the ball first time on the volley with his weaker foot into the far corner. The goalkeeper didn’t even bother moving. Amazing finish from the man in form!

                      EXE – Watkins (78’)
Liam Sercombe collects the ball on the left and beats the right-back for pace. He drifts into the box and lifts the ball over the last defender and to the back post where Watkins nods into the back of the net.

Our Best Performer: Ollie Watkins (He was so close to getting his first hat-trick!)

                      EXE – Reid (32’)
Sinclair jogs down the right and delivers a high ball into the back post where Jamie Reid nods past the goalkeeper at his near post.

                      SHE –Wallace (37’)
Callum McFadzean passes the ball to Wallace on the edge of the box. James Wallace spins around Moore-Taylor and slots the ball into the bottom corner.

                      EXE –Sinclair (55’)
A cross is delivered in by Appiah on the right. Ajeti flicks the ball with his head to the back post where Sinclair can easily finish.

                      Our Best Performer: Jake Sinclair

Aaron Dean (United States) 16 years old 51-59 OVR 81-94 POT
                      - Aaron Dean looks to have great potential if he can knuckle down and get a lot of first team action. He favours to play on the left but this left-footed playmaker looks like he would also be comfortable in the middle.

                      Press Conference:

Q: Due to your win against Sheffield United, you are now fourteen points ahead of everyone else. Surely, you’ll get promoted again...
A:Well, it’s very reassuring to hear that people have the confidence in me to bring Exeter City into the championship but we are only half way through the entire season. A lot could change in those games and we need to make sure that we keep our eyes on the prize and hopefully the time will fly by.

Q:Any news on where Jamie Reid might be going?
A:Already, some teams have expressed interest but I want to discuss the teams with Jamie and see where he wants to go. I really hope that he gets plenty of time on the pitch and is able to achieve great things.

Q:You were very unlucky to get the equaliser in the Newcastle game and you could have even have gone on to win the game if you had scored against the ten men. What have you learnt from this?
A:We’ve learnt that it’s all well and good exploiting the weaknesses of a side and getting a bit of luck but if you can’t take your chances then you’re simply not going to score.

So I wasn't feeling it with Peterborough so I decided not to continue with them

I'm extremely tired at the moment so tomorrow I will start my new Career Mode.

I liked the recap of previous seasons in your post by the way very nice addition. Looking at your squad I think you have a really good chance of achieving the objectives, but being in the same league with Barcelona and Real Madrid sure makes that complicated. You fired first already though by taking Courtois from Barcelona. He is incredibly difficult to score on but you won't have to worry about that anymore. I'm glad you'll be able to count on Farago this season too!
Thanks, landing someone Courtois was something I never thought I'd be able to do at a club like this. I'm glad Farago is staying around too (though the transfer window is still open )

Yeah on paper it makes sense to upgrade at LB but Ramirez's best traits are exactly what I look for in an LB (speed, crossing, defending) so I'm staying put with him, plus I barely acquired him last winter.

Glad you guys dug the update, I'm looking forward to this season as well. August is wrapped up so it's just a matter of posting the update (first I have to post Dagenham's August update though)

                            January 2018

                            Manchester United 2 - 0 Stoke City
                            Lacazette 20', 59'

                            Simulated.

                            Round of 64
                            Leyton Orient 0 - 4 Manchester United
                            Benzema 12', 16', Bale 59', Lacazette 71'

"A stable performance against a team that's a lot worse than us. We controlled the game and had twelve shots in the game which is a good amount. Karim (Benzema) did well to get a brace. Hopefully he continues to score."

                            Semi Final, 1st leg
                            West Bromwich 0 - 0 Manchester United

"We were horrific in this game. Everyone looked unmotivated and no-one wanted to play well. Only the defence did well. On top of everything Gareth Bale got injured for a month. We will concentrate on the second leg and make sure that we beat West Brom in the second leg."

                            Manchester United 2 - 1 Manchester City
                            Benzema 15', 28'
                            Higuain 72'

"I'm very happy about the way the team played today against our big rivals. We controlled the game and Joe Hart had to make some nice saves. Luka (Modric) made his debut in this match and he was wonderful. He even got an assist."

                            Chelsea FC 2 - 2 Manchester United
                            Schürrle 52', Piazon 90'
                            Sterling 7', Benzema 78'

"No way in hell did Chelsea deserve a point from this game. We dominated the game and they had only three shots on target. I'm very upset in the way our defenders lost their concentration in the last minute again. Sadly we lost Wazza (Rooney) for three weeks."

                            Semi Final, 2nd leg

                            West Bromwich

                            Blanco 45'

"We are out of the cup on away goals and that's awful. It's hurts even more because their goal was complete bullsh*t and because West Brom aren't a top team. I'm very disappointed and sad but we'll get over it in the next few games."

                            Round of 32
                            Manchester United 3 - 1 Chelsea FC
                            Benzema 8', Bale 13', 84'
                            Filipe Luis 80'

"Why the hell do we always beat the big teams while we lose against minnows like West Brom?! Anyway, we were really today and Chelsea didn't have almost any good chances. Bale returned from his return and he made an immidiate impact. Luka (Modric) picked another assist and he's becoming an important piece of the midfield."

                            Player of the Month

                            Karim Benzema

Finally! Karim Benzema finally found his form after half a season and he netted six goals in January after going goalless for eight matches. The absence of the superstar Gareth Bale could've made scoring easier for the Frenchman. Now everyone hopes that Benzema continues to perform like this.

                            Hot or Not

                            Hot

                            Karim Benzema

The French striker finally found his form which lead to him being chosen as the player of the month.

                            Gareth Bale

Even though Bale missed three games due to an injury he still scored three important goals and was clinical in attack. The Welshman has caused trouble to every defence he has faced since joining Man United and he's been in amazing form through out the whole season.

                            Luka Modric

Luka Modric arrived to Manchester before the game against Manchester City but he made his way into the starting eleven and took control of the midfield. He got two assists in three appearances in January and he's been playing well.

                            Not

                            Mats Hummels

The German centre back had a poor month and he made some mistakes that lead to easy goals.

No-one else had that bad of a month.

Another day, another session of training. Steve Bould was looking over his team while Cruzerr rushed onto the pitch.

"Sorry, mr Bould. I had urgent things to do, how is the training session?"

"It is fine, team is doing nicely and they seem to enjoy the new playing style."

"Good, good, always glad to hear that. Do you have any ideas of your own, mr Bould?"

"I do, Thomas. I think we should.."

Steve couldn't really finish his sentance, as a phone call came in for Cruzerr.

"Just a sec, mr Bould....uhh, hello, this is Thomas Cruzerr, who am I speaking to?"

"Yes, hello. I am miss Jackson from Sky Sports. I was wondering if you would participate in our interview tomorrow at eight o'clock? We would love to have a smart, intelligent coach like you for our new program - The Late Night Football Show."

Ahh, the media. Before all the glory, Cruzerr was being headhunted for everything he done - people were digging up evidence about his history and his past coaching experience, which he himself could say, was none in a high level. Yet now, with Arsenal doing well, people were praising Thomas and called him the best coach in the league - these people, a joke.

"I don't know, last time I got mentioned on Sky Sports, I was made fun of by one of your pundits."

"On behalf of the company of Sky Sports and me, we are truely sorry. Sometimes our pundits get out of hand and that can happen. However, I don't think you should be too offended and if you are, we can send you a fruitbasket."

"I'm sorry, but I am not going to stand for this, I think I deserve some respect. Good day, madam."

"Wait, just wait for a moment, mr Cruzerr. If you do this show, it will put you in a better light. You are the most talked coach in the english league, at the moment. Why ruin it? We are the media, we can do a lot towards that - put you in a bad light or a good one. Your call."

"This is blackmail, is this for real?"

"Please be here at 6.30. That way we can get you dressed and everything. Good talking to you, mr Cruzerr. See you then!"

Thomas knew that there were a lot of obnoxious people in the league, but that got a little too far for his liking. As he put his phone in his pocket, you could see the anger and disappointment. He was going to do something against his own will - be an absolute joke on TV. It took him a bit time to realise it, but Steve was standing right next to him and heard every bit of it.

                              "Who was that, Thomas?"

"Sky Sports. They want me to appear on some show tomorrow night."

"Can I give you some advice, chap?"

                              "Sure, go ahead, mr Bould."

"Look, we are doing really well right now. We kicked Manu right in the kisser and we are the top of the league. These programs try to ruin your image and our image with it. It is your call to go there, but just be careful on what you say, alright?"

Thomas knew Steve was right, yet a part of him wanted to go to do the show. Even if he voiced his opinion about it and felt against it, there was something about being in the spotlight that made him want to go there. But first, they had to focus on training.

"Ehh, entrenador Thomas, how many more laps," shouted Santi right over the whole pitch.

"Two more, mr Cazorla, then you are done."

The very next day, Cruzerr arrived to the Sky Sports office, being 30 minutes late. Apperantly, the traffic in Morecambe isn't as busy as it is in London. He rushed into the recording room and was greated by the host, miss Maria Jackson.

"Mr Cruzerr, you are late. We are going live in a bit, could you please get yourself in the makeup room and get yourself dressed up? We don't want you to be on TV looking like that, now do we?"

Thomas wanted to say something, but Jackson already left the room. He was rather confused - sure, the makeup part, that is naturally, but getting dressed? He was wearing his best suit for crying out loud.

As he got dressed and his makeup done, he rushed into the recording room and saw something he wasn't informed on - apperantly, he was not the only one in the show. He wanted to talk to Maria but it was too late, they were going to be live in a matter of seconds.

"Good evening, ladies and gentleman, and welcome to the Late Night Football Show! My name is Maria Jackson and with me today are very special guests to kickstart this show. First off, he is the manager of the champions of England and a legendary coach, please welcome, "The Special One", Jose Mourinho!"

"Yes, hello. Thank for inviting me."

"Alright, so, next to him we have the newest coach in the league and the youngest one aswell. Ladies, try to contain yourself and please give a round of applause to Thomas Cruzerr, the coach of Arsenal!"

                              "Greetings, glad to be here."

"And the third one and most certainly not the final one, we have Alan Shearer, the all-time leading scorer in the BPL and a Newcastle legend."

                              "Hi Maria, hi guys."

"So, lets start off with you Jose. Tell me, what does it f...."

Yes, Cruzerr was not the only one on the show. The coach of the rival team in London and one of the greatest strikers in BPl history were also there. He felt slightly screwed over, but he did not care. He was thinking his own thoughts and waiting for his turn while Maria was asking questions from the other two.

                              ***

"So, Thomas! You have been quiet all night, tell me, how does it feel to be at the top of the league?"

"Uhh, well it feels good at the moment but it is difficult so I am hoping we can still keep our good form and get good results."

"And you are just 22 years old, wow. How do you manage?"

"Well, actually, I turned 23 in October, but yes, I just work hard and focus on every match in hand and keep a strict line with the team."

"Jose, where were you when you as old as Thomas over here?"

"Ahh, I was playing for Sesimbra, I think. Not even sure, it is such a long time ago that I can't even remember."

"Would you have liked to be his age and be the manager of Inter or Chelsea or any other team?"

"Ehhe, no, not really. See, when you are that young, you don't have much experience and that can really hinder the team. It is great that Thomas here has Bould and other fantastic coaches next to him to guide him."

"Hold up," Cruzerr was actually irritated. It was the perfect bait set by Jose and he took it. "So are you saying that I am not worthy of the coaching job because of my age?"

"Well, yes. I think so. I think Arsenal is playing fantastic, but you have a good team so it is not very difficult to get them playing well with the great staff you have there."

"I am sorry, but I am still the shot caller over at Arsenal. I believe my tactics and my ideas have gotten us far in the league and above your team, might I add."

"Fellas, lets all settle down for a moment? Alan, what do you think of this? Would you like to be in Thomas' shoes?"

"Well, it is a very tough job. It is a lot tougher being a coach then a player. I don't know how you are not wearing yourself down, kid. You have a fighter in you. I wouldn't have taken the job, to be fair, at his age. But if he pulls it off, then why not?"

"What is there to pull off, I mean, I have been a coach of many great teams - Inter, Benfica, Chelsea, Real. All teams that I had to work tough in. And now, this young person comes into the league and Arsenal are first? If Wenger couldn't do it, how can he?"

"Right, listen you old portuguese man. I promise you that we will not lose to you next month - trust me on this one."

As he got mad, Cruzerr ripped the mic off his shirt and stormed off the stage. One thing was sure when people saw Jose sitting there with a grin on his face - the mindgames had started.

To be honest the bolded transfer is the most shocking to me. Because you are now in your second season. In the careers I have played he has moved in the first window and usually ends up going to Atletico Madrid.

Also Simp, didn't you bring in Courtois on a transfer? Because if you why did sign Neuer and not sell off Courtois? But if you did not sorry, I could be confusing you with someone else.
