Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Making Them Dream
SEASON 3
Match 7
Everton 2-5 Liverpool
Rodriguez 12
Sturridge 16
Baines 39 (p)
Balotelli 54
Naismith 57
Balotelli 78
Balotelli 90
Rodriguez opened the scoring with a drive into the bottom corner. Sturridge then scored after being played through by Balotelli to smash in. Baines got one back from a penalty that I still don't know what it was for. Balotelli scored a thunderbolt from distance before Naismith headed in. The ref gave another penalty, despite Mangala clearly getting the ball, but Baines hit the post. Balotelli then scored from close range before heading in to complete his first ever Liverpool hat trick.
Match 8
Liverpool 4-1 QPR
Taarabt 11
Sturridge 49
Sturridge 58
Ings 88
Sturridge 90
QPR took the lead when Taarabt skilled through the defence and slotted it in. Alonso, on his first match back at Anfield, thread Sturridge through to fire in. Sturridge scored again with a header and completed his hat trick with an outside the foot shot, either side of an Ings shot across goal into the far post.
Match 9
Sunderland 1-3 Liverpool
Sturridge 45
Balotelli 52
Dost 70
Balotelli 88
Sturridge opened the scoring with an amazing header from the edge of the box, floating into the top corner. Balotelli then scored with a strike into the top corner from just inside the box. Dost headed in a goal back when Mignolet failed to catch the ball. Balotelli then smacked into the bottom corner to reach double figures for the season in just 9 games.
Champions League Match 3
Liverpool 1-1 Schalke 04
Ings 67
Draxler 74
Ings opened the scoring, lightly toe poking into the bottom corner of the half volley. Draxler smacked in the equaliser from outside the box.
Match 10
Liverpool 2-0 Hull City
Balotelli 19
Balotelli 36
Balotelli nodded in a Mangala cross after Rakitics free kick was expertly tipped onto the post by the keeper. Balotelli then nodded in from a corner for his 12th of the season.
League Cup Match 3
Barnsley 0-1 Liverpool
Lallana 41
Barnsley played really well, forcing Mangala and Ilori to make blocks on the line. Lallana scored the only goal, calmly slotting in with his left foot. Pastore smashed the ball off the post twice. Unfortunately, Mangala broke his collarbone and will be out for 3 months.
October Thoughts
Mignolet did not do himself any favours this month, needing the defence to clear off the line because he couldn't handle the ball. Lallana is proving to be a brilliant signing to play in midweek fixtures and Pastore is finally proving his worth. Losing Suarez appears to be a blessing in disguise because Mario has been playing great. Sturridge doesn't seem to be effected by losing the other half of the SAS. Rodriguez is taking a while to get used to English football, but he has shown signs of excellence. Mangalas injury further shows the need for a new centre back.

How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
AFC Wimbledon - The Return of The Crazy Gang
Chávez has been named head coach for The Dons becoming barely the 5th coach in the club's history.
The team was founded in 2002 by a group of angered fans after their beloved Wimbledon FC was relocated to Milton Keynes by the Football Association over 50 miles away, losing the original team's identity and renamed MK DONS. AFC Wimbledon began their journey in the 9th tier of English football and achieved 5 promotions in 9 years, placing them in the Football League 2.
The board wants to continue their journey for vengeance and glory and want new manager Chavez to fight for promotion this season. Chavez has shown his devotion to achieve that by requesting upgrades to the current stadium so it may be fit for the Premier League, even though the top flight looks very far away at the moment. The board also expect a cup run to the round of 32, however what better way to get back at the FA than by claiming the FA Cup? That's how Chavez feels, no doubt impressing the already loyal fans.
The Dons are prepared to overcome all obstacles on their path to glory. The squad is not one of the strongest of the league, however play with heart as they are motivated by the supporters that have been behind the team since the Combined Counties League. The anger is evident on the field as the club strides to return to their rightful place for the fans after the FA selfishly pushed them aside. The rivalry with MK Dons grows more and more intense as the "other" Dons push for promotion. Soon these two teams will meet each other, be it in League 1, the Championship, or even the Premier League. There is no way to avoid it, and both teams will want to establish who the REAL Dons are.Last edited by _ChicoBass; 05-31-2014, 02:30 PM.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
September
The season moves on into September with Reading sitting top of the table. So far unbeaten in all competitions, will that form continue into September?
Results
Reading 4 - Bristol Rovers 1
18' Santos
27' Roberts
45' Green
76' Pearce
82' Drenthe
Reading 2 - Birmingham City 1
11' Depay
12' Nilsson
17' Elber
QPR 1 - Reading 2
11' Johnson
23' Green
84' Green
Reading 2 - Watford 1
20' Ranegie
48' Depay
84' Karacan
Brighton 4 - Reading 2
8' Ince
15' Mackail-Smith
22' Depay
32' Depay
34' Orlandi
76' Stephens
Reading 1 - Derby 0
18' Drenthe
Reading has suffered their first loss of the season, but finish still sitting at the top of the table. The goal scoring dropped towards the end of the month. Will this be a concern moving forward? The manager has started looking at attacking options to pair with Depay for the January Transfer window. So far Depay has been the main man in form, but he looks to need some help in the attack.

Brighton & Hove Albion
Taking Flight
Preseason 2013
Brighton 0-0 NAC Breda
Man of the match: Jelle ten Rouwelaar (NAC Breda)
I think we had a good first game. Their keeper was outstanding to deny us several times, and he thoroughly deserves his MOTM award. Fitness is getting better.
Greuther Fürth 0-2 Brighton
Mackail-Smith 6' 13'
Man of the match: Gordon Greer
It was a wonderful defensive display from us, and Craig grabbed a couple of important practice goals to get on the road to scoring form. Excellent work today.
Brighton 1-3 Fulham
Hoskins 27'
Sidwell 9', Tankovic 17' 76'
Man of the match: Scott Parker
It's not ideal to concede three, but this is a very good Premier League side that beat us. Parker pulled all the strings for Fulham.
********************
August 2013
Brighton 2-0 Newport (Capital One Cup)
Mackail-Smith 22' 78'
Man of the match: Liam Bridcutt
I'm glad to begin with a win, especially a cup win. This is a great foundation, and we have to build on it.
Watford 0-1 Brighton
R. Ince 71'
Man of the match: Rohan Ince
It was a tight game for us as well as Watford, and I wasn't sure if we could find the breakthrough until Rozza capped off his great defensive game with a fine volleyed goal. Unfortunately, we lose Upson to a broken ankle for three months.
Brighton 3-1 Ipswich
Mackail Smith 7' 83', Hoskins 23'
Murphy 21'
Man of the match: Craig Mackail-Smith
I don't like to isolate one player for praise, but Macca was just amazing. He ran the show in Ipswich's half, and the lads just had to follow his lead to grab a crucial three points. Great game.
Barnsley 0-0 Brighton
Man of the match: Luke Steele (Barnsley)
What can I say when we have 16 shots on goal yet come away with nothing? Their keeper did a fine job, and we will need to work harder against teams that defend deep.
Brighton 1-0 Middlesbrough
Mackail-Smith 7'
Man of the match: Tomasz Kuszczak
I wasn't too sure about how things would proceed after we went up early on, but somehow we managed not to concede despite not scoring again. I have to credit Kuszczak for his fine form not just today, but in the last few games as well.
Reading 1-2 Brighton
Keane 27'
Ulloa 74' 89'
Man of the match: Adrian Mariappa (Reading)
When I sent Leo on, I was just hoping we could grab the equaliser. Late winners are what the best teams need to pull out of their hats, and we managed just that. I think we have had a brilliant first month here on the seaside.
August 2013
Cup: Round 2 of the Capital One Cup
League: 13/15 points
********************
September 2013
Millwall 3-1 Brighton (Capital One Cup)
Henry 44', Abdou 48', Keogh 67'
Bridcutt 87'
Man of the match: Adam El-Abd
You can't win them all, but I'm slightly disappointed that we lost by three. I said in the preseason that we would have to be careful not to concede too many goals, and that's just what cost us. We will bounce back in the next game.
Charlton 0-3 Brighton
Mackail-Smith 20' 24', Greer 42'
Man of the match: Craig Mackail-Smith
This is a fantastic response from the lads. Charlton came at us hard and fast from the first minute, and two five-minute spells won us the game. I'm proud of the way the lads rose to the challenge after bowing out of the cup.
Brighton 2-1 Leeds
LuaLua 45', Bridcutt 65'
Diouf 76'
Red card: R. Ince 89'
Man of the match: Liam Bridcutt
Good game overall, though we could have done better to keep the clean sheet and score the penalty. Mistakes will happen. I think the sending off was a bit harsh, and we will miss Rozza in the next game.
Yeovil 1-2 Brighton
Foley 13'
Buckley (pen) 28', Dickenson 82'
Man of the match: Will Buckley
In football, you can never underestimate your opponent. Yeovil made us work very hard for this win, and their inexperience in this level of competition is the only reason they didn't come away with a point or even three. This is a team with great potential, and I think the manager will take them to wonderful places.
Brighton 1-0 Millwall
Ulloa 21'
Man of the match: Gordon Greer
I'm thrilled because today's result shows that we have learnt from our mistakes. We have to keep moving forward now.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Making Them Dream
SEASON 3
Match 11
Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool
Balotelli 42
Balotelli tackled Ivanovic to fire in just before half time for the only goal of the game against our nearest title rivals. The win means we have gone on an 11 game winning streak.
Champions League Match 4
Liverpool 5-1 Lokomotiv Moscow
Balotelli 11
Rakitic 17
Balotelli 45
Obinna 60
Rodriguez 73
Rakitic 85
Playing a strong line up because of our European struggles, Mario scored with 2 headers either side of a Rakitic strike from the edge of the box. Obinna got one back before Rodriguez cut inside and scored and Rakitic bundled in the 5th. Unfortunately, Verratti broke his tibia and will be out for 5 months.
Match 12
Liverpool 1-0 Cardiff
Sterling 78
In a dull game, the only goal was scored when Sterling leapt like a salmon to head home.
Match 13
Manchester City 0-3 Liverpool
Lallana 11
Ilori 44
Rodriguez 90
What a result. Lallana, in place of Verratti, opened the scoring by rolling the ball under Begovic after a magical touch. Ilori headed in from a corner and Rodriguez rounded off the result after running clear, smashing in to the top corner.
Match 14
Swansea 0-2 Liverpool
Balotelli 19
Balotelli 58
Mario scored his first by brilliantly chipping the keeper from the edge of the box, a magnificent goal. He got his second after tackling Chico and firing from a tight angle.
Champions League Match 5
FC Porto 1-0 Liverpool
Lica 29
Well this is a strange sensation. Our first loss (not on penalties) in all competitions all season. Lica broke through our makeshift defence, (De Sciglio, Wisdom, Martins Indi, Flanagan) and slotted in. Porto then began to "park the bus" and we couldn't break through.
Match 15
Liverpool 2-1 Aston Villa
Weimann 9
Pastore 81
Pastore 84
After Weimann gave them an early lead, we sought out an equaliser. We just couldn't lose 2 in a row. It didn't help when Sturridge came off with damage to his Anterior Cruciate Ligament and will be out for 7 months. But then, it did. Pastore came on, got the ball and smashed in. Balotelli chipped the ball over the top a few minutes later, and Pastore was there to curl in.
BREAKING NEWS
Jamiec47 has signed a 1 year contract as England manager.
"It is an honour to be manager of such a wonderful nation, my home nation. The birthplace of football will now be ran by not just an English manager, but a fan. No offence to Roy, but his football was boring, I will get us playing like the Spain and Germany of recent years. We have the class in our squad, I know that. I already work with Luke, Raheem, Daniel, Adam and Steven, and have worked with Glen and Jordan. I have also closely observed the likes of Wayne in play against Liverpool and obviously know the pace and ability in Aaron Lennon, otherwise I wouldn't have tried to sign him. I think we have 2 of the most formidable left backs in the world, 2 of the best strikers and a midfield to rival the Spain side of 08-14 or the Brazil '70 team. I can coach us to World and European glory."
November Thoughts
Well where do I start. We lost a match, not great, but the run we've been on is amazing. The injury plague continues to watch over us, two of our best players out for the majority of the season. Verratti will be back for the run in at the end of the season, but Sturridge will be out for the rest of the season, and maybe even the Euro's. (If we qualified- I can't look at my group). But we have still won every match in the league so that's a bright point, and maybe Pastore will shine without Sturridge.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Cardiff City Career Mode
Quick side note, I've decided to do most of this career mode in interview and press conference form so instead of having list of results I'll have them embedded in the interviews the manager gives. Hopefully it will make it different to some of the other career modes on this forum.
Press Conference after Cresswell and Ings signing
Question - Why did you feel you needed to make these additions to the squad
BossMan - I've watched these two play in the Championship for a while, at Yeovil I always wanted to sign them, we just never had the funds. Danny (Ings) is a huge talent. He combines pace, aerial ability and he is a born finished. I think he will be rotated with Frazier (Campbell) until one of them gets some form. Aaron (Cresswell) was a no-brainer to sign. He's been excellent for a few seasons and looks like he could develop to be a really exciting talent soon. I like the attacking threat he brings to his full-back position and we needed a rotation right back anyway. Until he's is a stand out first team player he will be rotated I think.
Question - Are there going to be anymore signings this season
BM - As you know I can't reveal much as it will affect our attempts to sign the players. What I can say is that there will be at least one other signing. I would like a marquee player, someone who brings a bit of wow factor into the team. I'm an admirer of a number of players in the BPL at the moment and we will be looking to sign one of them soon. I have full backing from Mr. Tan to make one further signing and I feel that we can make that signing in the coming weeks.
Question - You have set up a youth academy, any particular reason as to why
BM - I think all great football teams need to not only sign great talent but also develop it. With the scouts we have signed so far, I feel we can develop some really promising home grown players who can do great things for Cardiff City in the future. One final question please.
Question - There are rumours around that Jordan Mutch is in talks with Chelsea, can you confirm these rumours.
BM - Jordan's a wonderful player, so when I took this job I always knew I would be dealing with offers for him left, right and centre. Chelsea are one of the teams in contact at the moment, but as of yet, no offer has come in. I cannot confirm anymore.
Interview after West Ham game
Geoff Shreeves - BossMan, 3 points is that what you wanted
BM - Yes, of course, we played brilliantly start to finish, I though Berget was outstanding and Wilf (Zaha) was also excellent. Perhaps we could have put away a few more chances and put the nail in the coffin earlier, but at the end of the day 3 points is what we wanted.
GS - Debuts from both Aaron Cresswell and Danny Ings, how did you feel they played
BM - They we great, both of them. Danny attacked well, took his goal well and his movement was superb. Aaron defended very well, in a 1-0 win you have to defend well and Aaron did just that. They should be delighted with how they played.
GS - Your next game is away at Man. City, will any changes be made
BM - Man. City are a world class team. I think we will try and defend well and counter them, so a different formation may be the ticket. The line up may well change although I cannot reveal too much yet. Cheers Geoff.
Hopefully you enjoyed reading that, I'm really enjoying this career mode and I hope your enjoying reading it. Posts may dry up soon as I'm back at school for exams this week. I'll try and post at least twice a week though I can't promise anything. I'm slightly ahead and the next post will be the games against Man City and Everton along with some more transfer talk.Last edited by TauterHat; 06-09-2014, 03:30 PM.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Fraser Forster from Celtic is my go-to keeper if I'm playing with an English side. He's never developed to less than 82-84 for me, and usually hits around 86 by season seven or eight.
The same applies at left back to Aaron Cresswell of Ipswich Town, though he never grows higher than 80 or 81. A quality defender with plenty of pace and energy, amazing crosser as well.Comment

Hehe. Thought I might give the cocky air around my management but I did guide Liverpool to the double in my first season in management and the FA Cup/Champions League double in my second season. Think "Jamiec47" has the right.Btw, I love reading your posts and it was your posts that gave me the layout that I have. Shame about the Sunderland career. I go for realism plus a few marquee signings here and there just for fun

October
Another solid month put together by Reading F.C. Ending on top of the table once again, the manager has the team looking in great form. While not as dominate as they were the first month and a half, they are still getting the job done behind the goals of Memphis Depay who leads the league in scoring.
