Press Conference
Q: After a another great month in league play you are now on top of the table by 9 points. This type if control over League 1 so far is something that none of the experts would have predicted. What would you say to everyone who doubted Morecambe is the reason for this success?
A: Our players are on great form right now. They are playing as some of the best in the league currently. Last month it was Chris Hussey to be named player of the month, and this month it was Marcus Marshall. The great play of our two wingbacks has been vital in our success since they are such a great representation of how well our attack as well as our defense goes. I think we will continue to go as they go throughout the season.
Q: A thriller of a win to advance in the J. Paint Trophy. You stated last year that even though many write this tournament off, you still saw it as a priority. Does that still hold true for you this year?
A: Any chance to win a trophy we won't take for granted. We were happy to advance in the match against Bristol Rovers. We felt confident going into extra time and that confidence paid off when Ryan Williams struck home the winner late into extra time. We hope to keep advancing in the competition and have a shot at winning the trophy.
Q: After struggling at the start of the season, Abel Molinero seems to have really found his form this month. What do you think were the reasons for the early struggles and the turnaround as of late?
A: Abel came from a foreign country and he has had to adjust to life outside of Spain for the first time. It's a transition that is seen in most players making a move like that. Now that he has settled down and gotten more comfortable with his surroundings as well as his teammates he has become exactly what we were expecting when we signed him on. He is a deadly attacking option and we always envisioned him as a key component in our attack.
