I feel ya, as much as it hurt to miss out on promotion with Alcorcon two years ago I realized it was a blessing in disguise as I wasn't financially ready to be in La Liga. Glad to see you brought this CM back, this was the one I initially saw from you.

You know? I was trying to think of a comparison and yours is spot on. I hope I'm able to replicate your success. I really left a lot of points on the table in this first half and I can't repeat that mistake in the second half. I would like to get 6 of 9 points this month but I would settle for 4.

It represents workrates. So he would have High attack and Medium defense workrates.

            Better, Best, Basque

            October

            Athletic Bilbao 3 - 1 Villarreal CF
            Ibai Gomez 45', Aduriz 60', 69'
            Pina 65'

Bilbao continued their inconsistent form but this time it went positively. The Lions faced a strong Villarreal side with lots of talent but they were no match to Bilbao. Bilbao passed the ball with a quick tempo trying to get goals. The first one came right before half time when Iker Muniain crossed the ball from the left wing. The ball was punched backwards by Villarreal's keeper and Ibai Gomez was positioned perfectly for a diving header. Fifteen minutes into the second half Oscar de Marcos played a cross in which found Aduriz. The tall man headed the ball in the bottom right corner out of keeper's reach. Five minutes later Tomas Pina got one back but few minutes later Aduriz scored another header to finish the Yellow Submarine.

            Athletic Bilbao 1 - 2 Valencia CF
            Laporte 7', Jonas 10' pen, 68 ' pen

Did someone say inconsistent? In Athletic Club's second game of the season they got to a great start when the young defender Aymeric Laporte scored from a corner. Only few minutes later Iraola slid in to get the ball away from Jonas in the box. The right back got the ball but the referee called the penalty. After looking at many replays on San Mames' screens the referee's decision was right as Iraola touched Jonas' knee half a second before the ball. Jonas walked behind the ball and the Brazilian slotted the ball to the top right corner. Ruffier in Bilbao's goal dived the right way but he didn't manage to save it.
Bilbao pushed for a winning goal but unluckily Valencia got another penalty, this time for a hand ball after a corner. Jonas put the ball on the spot and the 29 years old Brazilian didn't miss. Again. This time he put the ball down the middle. The Basques tried to get an equalizer but they failed in it. A disappointing game for Gancherribia's side.

            Getafe 1 - 1 Athletic Bilbao
            Borja 25'
            Aduriz 38' pen

            Athletic Bilbao 2 - 1 Elche
            Kike Sola 7', Ros 84'

            Atletico Madrid 2 - 3 Athletic Bilbao
            Mandzukic 22', 53' pen
            De Marcos 7', Aduriz 45', 65'

In a huge game between two really good teams Bilbao came out victorious. The game began well for the Basques when they played a long pass which reached Thibaut Courtois in Atletico's goal. The Belgian keeper took a bad first touch and De Marcos managed to steal the ball from him. The fast man ran past Courtois and he shot the ball to the net easily. Great start for Athletic Club but their joy didn't last long. Arda Turan managed to get past his marker on the left and he crossed the ball to Mandzukic in the box. The tall Croatian doesn't miss those kind of chances and this time wasn't any different and Atletico equalized. Bilbao kept on attacking and keeping possession and they got their reward before the referee blew his whistle for half time. Iker Muniain delivered a high ball in the box and surprisingly Aritz Aduriz managed to head the ball from between two defenders and he put the Lions in the lead. Gancherribia who is known for being calm exploded on the bench and he was jumping all around the technical area.
About ten minutes after the start of the second half the referee made a handball call. Mario Mandzukic took the penalty and he put it to Ruffier's right. Once again the French keeper guessed the right way but he didn't manage to save the ball. At that moment it didn't look good for the Basques but ten minutes after the penalty Ander Herrera played a beautiful ball over Atletico's defenders. Aduriz was the first one to get to it and he kept the centre backs behind him with his strong body. The Spanish striker ran at the goal and he released a great shot from left to right which ended in the back of the net. Once again Gancherribia went mental on the bench. Athletic Club managed to hold on to their lead and they got important three points from a great team!

            Malaga 2 - 0 Athletic Bilbao
            Portillo 56', Eliseu 72'

            Athletic Bilbao 5 - 1 Levante
            Aduriz 17', Beñat 41', 58', 76', 90'
            Simao Mate 84'

Athletic Bilbao 3 - 0 Real Zaragoza, Copa del Rey Round of 32
            Aduriz 30' pen, 75', Beñat 37'

            Athletic Bilbao 3 - 1 FC Barcelona
            Beñat 43', 90', de Marcos 88'
            Messi 75'

Third against fourth. Only a point between the two teams. Athletic Bilbao, the amazing-at-home-but-alright-away Basque team against FC Barcelona, the Spanish and worldwide giant who had a terrible start to the season. Nothing was sure before the game. San Mamés was full of cheering and shouting Basque fans, all in white and red. The atmosphere was amazing and everything was set for a great game of football.
The home team started the game strongly. They were passing the ball around Barcelona's third and they were looking for chances. But that didn't mean anything. The match was balanced and the first half looked like it would end goalless. But then Beñat Etxeberria received the ball at the corner of the box. The freekick specialist cut in, running past Pique before shooting a powerful shot past Claudio Bravo in goal. The croud and Gancherribia exploded out of joy. Everything was perfect for the Basques.
The second half began and it was just a matter of time before Barcelona got a goal. The Catalonians were dangerous and Bilbao's defenders had troubles with them. Finally Messi managed to break free in the 75th minute. The magical Argentinian circled around Laporte and he finished the attack with a shot to the bottom left corner. The Basques were broken but they tried to get another goal. And they succeeded in it before the end. Ander Herrera timed greatly a pass over Barcelona's defenders. Oscar de Marcos got to the ball and the winger took two touches before slotting the ball from the right to the top left corner with a half-volley. The stadium went crazy and the whole team jumped on the man to celebrate. Two minutes later Iker Muniain put in a low cross from the counter attack and Beñat got to the ball. He put the ball under Bravo with his first touch from inside the box. Athletic Club were the winners of the amazing game!

              REVIVING TORRES

End of a very up and down month. First, let's go over the transfers made this month.

              IN:
              Marco Reus [31.5 + Koke]
              Julian Green [LOAN]
              David Luiz [16.5]

              OUT:
              Mirando [20]
              Tiago [7.5]

              Now, to the results.

              Sevilla 0 - 3 Atletico Madrid
              Greizmann 6'
              Benzema 57'
              Torres 66'

              Barcelona 4 - 0 Atletico Madrid
              Messi 28'
              Song 63'
              Juanfran 73' [OG]
              Messi 86'

              Atletico Madrid 3 - 2 Rayo Vallecano
              Torres 45' [PEN]
              Benzema 53'
              Larrivey 59'
              Longo 84'
              Torres 89'

              Atletico Madrid 0 - 4 Barcelona
              Alderweireld 41' [OG]
              Pedro 48'
              Pedro 66'
              Tello 73'

Good results, until you look at the Barca games. It was the Super cup Espana Final, and after the first leg I decided I should rest the first team in the 2nd game, although I left a couple first teamers in. If I would have thought about it more, I would have went 5-5-0 custom on Ultra Defensive right off the bat just to save some pride on here. But, we lose on aggregate 8-0 [Ouch] and that's not what bugs me the most. What REALLY bugs me is the OG's. Now, the press conference.

Q: How do you think you're results fully came out this month?

A: In the league, we are doing well. After 2 games we have full points, and not looking like we are going to stop. The Supercup Espana would have been nice silverware to pick up, but Barca wiped the floor with us. They are the better team, and hopefully one day we can overtake them.

Q: How do you think Fernando is doing?

A: Well, obviously when you're tied for the league lead in goals you're doing good, but it's not just about him. It's about the whole team. I think we've made some good acquisitions and we can do well in the league.

Q: How much longer do you expect Fernando to play?

A: I expect him to play until his contract is up, meaning until he is 34.

Q: What are your expectations this year?

A: I expect us to qualify for the Champions League as well as reach the quarter final in the cup.

That is all we have time for, thanks for coming bye.
That's it for this month, hope you enjoyed, another update coming soon.

Thank you for reading the post! I hope you have enjoyed it! Any feedback and suggestions will be appreciated!

Cruel world, he beat us 3-2! And on top of that, MANDZUKIC scored twice...

                  ROAD TO RECOVERY
                  SEASON 2

                  Match 26

                  Coventry 1-0 Ipswich
                  Thomas 31
Thomas got the only goal of the game to give us a deserved win with a slow ball that trickled in even from the edge of the box.

                  Match 27

                  Hull 0-1 Coventry
                  Eccleston 75
We got an unexpected victory against the league leaders when Eccleston ran clear and smashed in.

                  FA Cup Round 3

                  Coventry 3-1 Bristol City
                  Emmanuel-Thomas 5
                  Delfouneso 6
                  Moussa 49
                  Dagnall 64

                  Simmed

                  Match 28

                  Coventry 1-1 Brighton
                  Azogue 49
                  Buckley 80 (PEN)

Brighton seem to have a knack for getting bull**** penalties. Azogue smashed in the opener but when the Brighton winger ran into my player, the ref gave a penalty which Buckley converted off the bar.

                  Match 29

                  Wolves 1-1 Coventry
                  Keogh 7
                  Baker 21

Keogh opened the scoring after McCarthy passed it to him from a goal kick. Baker equalised with a strike into the top corner. In truth, Wolves deserved to win.

                  Match 30

                  Middlesbrough 2-2 Coventry
                  Razak 4
                  Razak 24
                  Tomlin 45
                  Butterfield 90

We somehow through a way a 2 goal lead to draw. Razak headed in before curling home. Tomlin headed in and Butterfield then headed in after McCarthy had saved a penalty.

                  FA Cup Round 4

                  Coventry 1-3 West Ham
                  Downing 12
                  Cole 48
                  Razak 62
                  Downing 76

                  Simmed.

                    David Luiz [16.5]

                    OUT:

What currency are you using because if it's £ then you got ripped off on David Luiz. I got him for £6 million in my Newcastle career

Well, after signing Marco Reus, I can say I'm disappointed. He has had 0 impact on the team, and I think I'm going to end up selling him come January. Plan to sign someone like Shaqiri, maybe even Jese Rodriguez or Isco. These are 3 possible replacements and it's really unfortunate that Reus wont perform.

Dollars. Also, it was from PSG so that may make a difference.

Oops. Forgot to mention Aaron Phillips went to Blackpool for £240,000 and I bought in Tarik Camdal as a replacement

So guys, I'm sorry to announce that I won't be continuing the Lazio career mode. I've been struggling to win games I should easily be winning and I've been getting injuries left right and centre and have just stopped enjoying it. I'll be trying out a few new teams tonight but if you guys have any ideas I'd love to hear them. I'm thinking teams like Everton and Bayer Leverkusen. Teams in top divisions who have the ability and budget to become world class but currently are not.

Leverkusen would be really interesting! They have a good squad and an alright budget with young players who have lots of potential. It would be fun to see you take on Bayern and Europe.

                                League Objective: Fight for Promotion

After the surprise sacking of former manager Chris Wilder his replacement will be a man by the name of Steve Johnson, who will be the first American to manage the club. Chris was said to be sacked because of a disagreement with chairman David Cardoza. Many of the fans are a bit spectacle of the new manager who has no managerial experience, but Steve hopes to put these doubters to rest when he is quoted as saying, "I believe that I can bring this club reason to celebrate and hopefully the fans will support me like the board has we have a good group of staff here that can take this club places in the next few years."

The next update will be combined of July and August. If you have any questions I will try and incorporate them into the updates. Please let me know what you think and give me any feedback you can.
