Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
DeAndre Yedlin is a class player at 68, and turns into a stunningly good full back. Nicola Murru is decent as well. I don't know how much Jung goes for but he'd probably be a pretty good option. I'd try and go for Yedlin for about 1.25 million and then bring in Murru or even Daniel Opare as a more physical guy.
YES! Yedlin was someone I was looking for and Murru has a great growth.
I like Piszcek as my RB, but he's getting quite old and I want to start switching him more and more with a young RB. Whoever I have now on my bench doesn't cut it. Thanks for the advice.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Regens: Cheltenham would be great because you'll have Terry Gornell in your squad. Hartlepool would also be a good one because you'll have Luke James. BUT, Torquay and Mansfield would be huge challenges and very interesting to see a CM on! Both clubs were on the bottom of the table, I think somewhere in the bottom 5, when I was in League 2. Don't know much about Torquay, but Mansfield have Ryan Tafazolli who has been vital in my Wimbledon defense. Looking forward to your decision!
Tauterhat: Great choice! Keep an eye on Tyler Harvey. He starts with really low overall but he has 79 potential. He's naturally a striker but the game has him listed as CM. Unfortunately, he's only at 67 overall so far. Hope he works grows faster with you since you'll already have him on the squad. Good luck!Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
I've narrowed it to 2. Torquay and Hartlepool. Torquay in real life last season finished 24th [bottom] which is... just... depressing... and the other team I really like is Hartlepool because of the nickname "The Pools" as well as I like how Luke James looks in the game. 74 potential, however, I've heard of people getting him to 77. I'll get back to you in a little bit with my final decision.Comment

Q: While the results weren't as strong as last month, it was still an unbeaten month, extending your unbeaten streak in league play to 17 matches. You were also able to separate yourself even more from the rest of the table. What is the feeling around the club with the continued success of the season?
A: We are ecstatic. We have completed half of the season now and we are on the fast track for promotion to the Football League Championship. The board has shown faith in me since they hired me, and I'm glad that I have been able to repay them so far with this success. But I know that success can't be expected to just happen, you have to work for it. I will make sure that this team is always focused and to prepare this team to have a chance to win every match we take part in.
Q: News is coming out that Andrew Fleming has put in a transfer request. Is there any truth behind the rumors circulating over his potential departure? Many are whispering that the play of Jack Bowditch has left him feeling his future no longer lies with the club.
A: Andrew has been an impressive player for Morecambe since I took over. He has been talking to me throughout the past few weeks and he has expressed his desire to leave the club. We will do our best to find a good destination for him, and we regret that he feels Morecambe is no longer the club for him. As for the talk of Jack Bowditch, he, nor any other player's names were brought up in my discussions with Andrew. He knew that there was still room for him on this squad regardless, but still felt it was time to move on.
Q: With the transfer window now open do you have any major plans for squad movement? Will you be finding a replacement for Andrew Fleming as he will be on the way out?
A: We have begun contract negotiations to call George Humphreys up to the senior squad. I think that he is ready to fill into Fleming's empty role and we should hopefully see him on the pitch soon. As of right now we don't have any major movement in mind. Several clubs have inquired about Ryan Williams already, but it will take a hefty sum to pull him away from us. If a player we rate highly becomes available for the right price, then things could change of course. But for now, we are happy with where the squad stands.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Torquay United hire Orlov as new boss
Vladimir Orlov has been hired as new boss of Torquay. After being fired from Sampdoria 3 years ago, he returned to the MLS where he managed Toronto FC. He coached the past 2 MLS All-Star games and won them both over Chelsea and Tottenham. He stated that he wanted to return to England, and Torquay offered him the job. He is the new boss, and he is here today.
Bill: Hello, Mr. Orlov, how are you today?
Orlov: Good, just because I see they hired a new guy for this job. If you are not good, I get you fired.
Bill: Yeah, moving on... are you excited about taking the job at Torquay?
Orlov: Very. You might as well call this team Orlov United, because if you ask people in England about Torquay United, they ask you, "What's a Torquay?". This team is me. If we win, it's because of me. If we lose, well, it's probably because of our players... or the board.
Bill: Right, glad to see your insight on that. Do you think you can some day get to the Premier League?
Orlov: I can. I don't know if this team can, maybe the club if we get a completely new roster. Has anybody looked at this team? How can you even think of Premier League. They finished 24th in the league last year. 24th. Let's think about that. They are officially the WORST team in England. That is all.
Bill: Well, that's all we have time for today, and it'll be quite interesting to see how Mr. Orlov can handle with Torquay United. Come back tomorrow.
Yes. Vladimir Orlov is back. I have my first target in my sights, and I am ready to fire. I won't do it after the first month, but after the second month. Hope you enjoyed.

ROAD TO RECOVERY
SEASON 3
End of Summer Press Conference
Jamie, many are criticising your business in the transfer window. Letting go of 2 of your best players and many saying you overspent on the wrong players. What do you have to say about this?
I understand. Nathan (Delfouneso) and Cyrus (Christie) are excellent players and will be a massive loss for our team but I had no choice. There was no depth in our team, just 19 players in the whole squad. The board didn't give us a good budget and the sales allowed us to bring in depth. What I don't understand is how they are the wrong players. Marc (Pugh) has been excellent in pre-season and scored a stunner against Burnley. DJ (Campbell) brings experience to the side, Premier League experience at that. Paul (Caddis) is a quality right back who has proved himself at this level, as has Adam (Clayton) who has slotted right into the spot vacated by Razak. Joe (Murphy) was a great keeper for us in League 1 and to bring him in as back up gives us 2 of the best keepers in the league. Terry (Gornell) was top scorer in League 2 for Cheltenham and I don't see why he couldn't make the jump. Finally, Clayton (Donaldson) was a gamble, but he has played well when he has started.
You mentioned Razak. He was arguably your best player last season and you failed to resign him. Why is that?
Simply his wages. I will not deny that I tried to get him on loan again but we simply couldn't afford it. We are unbeaten this season however, so that speaks for itself that the signings can't be that bad.
But with only 1 win in the 5 games.
Correct, but our fixtures were tough. Leicester and Burnley were relegated from the Premier League and Reading just missed out on the playoffs last season. Forest are one of the favourites for promotion so we did well in picking up no defeats in that spell.Comment

Well, first of all congratulations on a playoff position
Why thank you but we are only 10 games in, say that to me if we are still here at the end of the season.
OK. Well no-one expected you to be at this end of the table, many tipping your team fro relegation because of the loss of those players. What do you have to say to those people?
I wouldn't put your money on it. Yes we have lost some great players, have seen that Nathan (Delfouneso) is in great form at Stoke in the Premier League, and congratulations to him on making the jump and continuing to succeed. However, Chris (Dagnall) and Nathan (Eccleston) have played brilliantly and stepped up to the task. Terry (Gornell) and DJ (Campbell) make a brilliant back up pair. The team is gelling quickly and I don't see why we can't keep it up for the whole season.
You got your first loss of the season this month against Wolves. How was that?
It was not fun. Wolves are massive rivals and we are still bitter about the fact that they pipped us the League 1 title 2 seasons ago. Quite frankly though, we played badly and they deserved the win.
Your team has not had a single clean sheet this season. How are you working on that and does that call for dropping McCarthy?
No not at all. Alex has played well but he can't stop everything. We are working with the defence to improve their marking and have told Blair (Adams) and Tarik (Camdal) to push up less as the wings are exploited on the counter.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Plymouth Argyle Career Mode
Mr. OJ becomes the next new manager in League 2 after his surprise appointment after the departure of John Sheridan
League 2 had already seen many managerial changes including Wimbledon, Dagenham, Southend, Torquay (just for you Regens :P) and Morecambe all naming new managers and now it appears Plymouth Argyle have jumped on the bandwagon with the appointment of Englishmen Mr. OJ.
The announcement was made at 7:03 on the 15th of June that John Sheridan would be leaving the club and 10 days later the decision was made that it would be Mr. OJ taking over. OJ comes to the club a novice in the world of football management with this his first job as manager.
He has previously worked as a youth team coach for Yeovil Town before moving to coach Cardiff City and S.S Lazio youth teams. He then moved back to Plymouth in an attempt to work with youth teams in his home area. Instead he was giving the role of manager of the first team. This could be an exciting story as we watch Mr. OJ's attempt to take Plymouth Argyle to glory.
Mr OJ's first press conference as Plymouth Argyle manager
Mr. OJ, why Plymouth?
Plymouth are a team very close to my heart. I grew up watching them from the stands are Home Park and they always were a team I thoroughly enjoyed watching. I applied for a youth team coaching job but the chairman, Mr Brent asked me if I would be interested in taking the first team job. I had a think about it and after about a week of negotiations and interviews I took over Plymouth Argyle. I would like to thank Mr Brent for allowing me to take over the club, it's a real honour.
Plymouth are a side who, in theory, should be doing much better than they are. How do you plan on helping them realize their full potential?
I am a coach, first and foremost. I think in that respect I should be able to help the players on a much more personal basis. I am genuinely looking forward to working with some of the players and helping them improve all aspects of the game. We have the foundations of a team who could go far; an outstanding keeper, some brilliant defenders, some of the best midfielders in the league and a strike force, who on their day, are impossible to defend. I hope that I can take these players to the next level and with my team behind me, their is no reason why promotion isn't an option this year.
You are one of many new managers to be appointed this season. How do plan on setting yourself apart from the others?
I have massive amounts of respect for all the new managers, and as far as I'm concerned we are all in the same boat. We all want to put a stamp on our teams and all want to leave our mark on the world of football. Some may try and do that by taking the cup by storm and others may try and bring in flashy players who do the work for them. I will be trying to get this team to play exciting football, whilst winning games. If we can do that this season, then the others teams haven't got a chance of beating us. However, I wish all the other managers good luck, and hope to see them in the Premier League soon.
It is the transfer window currently. Are you planning on doing any business.
I've decided that transfers will not be my priority. I want to set up a youth academy first and then if we have any money left then I may, once I've assessed the squad, have a look at bringing in some players. But don't be surprised if I do not bring in anyone this summer.
Is there anything you would like to say to the Plymouth Argyle fans?
To all the fans who are on unconvinced about my appointment, have faith in me and the club. This is a club that is close to my heart and because of that, I will only do what is best for the club. Under my leadership, this club is going places. Keep supporting the club, keep watching our matches, and enjoy the ride, it's going to be a good one.
