Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
AUGUST
Shrewsbury will travel to Ashton Gate to take on Bristol City in the 1st round of the Capital One Cup
FOOTBALL LEAGUE 2
SHREWSBURY 3
Grant 8’
Collins 33’
Robinson 82’
STEVENAGE 0
It was the perfect start for Wilson as new Shrewsbury manager as he saw his side ease to a 3-0 win over Stevenage. The strike partnership of James Collins and loanee Bobby Grant was in full flow in the first half as they both claimed a goal and an assist. Substitute Andy Robinson rounded the afternoon off with a cool finish underneath the ‘keeper to put Shrewsbury top on the opening day.
CAPITAL ONE CUP
BRISTOL CITY 3 (AET)
Agard 69’
Freeman 103’
Elliott 117’
SHREWSBURY 2
Grant 19’
Akpa Akpro 120’
Dean Wilson’s second game as Shrewsbury boss ended in defeat at Ashton Gate. His side had taken a surprise lead in the opening quarter of the game through Bobby Grant, but they couldn’t hold on. Kieron Agard equalised with 20 minutes to go, sending the game into extra time. 2 goals in 14 minutes from Freeman and Elliott mean Bristol City will advance, despite a late consolation from Akpa Akpro. Disappointment of course for Wilson and his men, but they can have their heads held high after a strong performance.
FOOTBALL LEAGUE 2
DAGENHAM 1
Hines 67’
Cureton missed pen 79’
SHREWSBURY 1
Woods 31’
It was a tale of two halves at Dagenham where Wilson’s men dominated for much of the first period, but struggled to cope with some periods of real pressure after the break. Ryan Woods struck on the half an hour mark to get his 2nd ever goal for the club. But Shrewsbury could not withstand some serious pressure from the home side in the 2nd period, and were pegged back in the 67th minute when former West Ham man Zavon Hines drilled home from close range.
SHREWSBURY 1
Collins 45’
WYCOMBE 1
McClure missed pen 24’
Contreras 38’
Wetson’s Shrewsbury got another point on the board in a very even contest at New Meadow where neither side deserved all 3 points. The visitors took the lead when debutee Contreras headed in from close range, but they were not able to sustain their advantage. James Collins notched his 2nd of the season to focus even more attention to the missed penalty in the first half.
SHREWSBURY 1
Griffith 68’
SOUTHEND 0
Shrewsbury picked up their second win of the season and their first in 4 games. Anthony Griffith’s 25 yard strike was enough to overcome a poor Southend side who offered little in the 90 minutes. The Shrews created a host of opportunities and their failure to convert them will definitely frustrate the manager, although he must be happy with a clean sheet.
EXETER 1
McAllister 90’
SHREWSBURY 3
Grant 25’
Goldson 34’
Lawrence 70’
Shrewsbury rounded off the month in impressive style with a dominant performance and victory over Tex Bumosix’s Exeter. Bobby Grant bagged his 3rd of the season in the early stages, and centre half Goldson powerfully headed in from a corner to make it two before the break. Liam Lawrence scored with 20 minutes to go, claiming his 1st of the campaign, but a late equaliser from former Shrewsbury man McAllister robbed the Shrews of the clean sheet. Wetson was still very pleased with his side’s display as they picked up their first away win of the season.
BREAKING TRANSFER NEWS
Shrewsbury announce the signature of left back Dilan Zuniga on a season long loan deal. The 18 year old Chilean can provide cover on either side of the defence and it is understood that Wilson pursued him with regards to a permanent deal. Whether this can be arranged throughout the season will be unveiled in due course.
Player of the month for August
Bobby Grant
The 24 year old loanee bagged 3 goals and an assist in his 6 appearances in August, consistently demonstrating his potential to succeed. He has started to form a partnership with captain James Collins, and if he can keep his good form up, he will prove to be a critical member of the Shrews’ squad this season.
Standings at the end of August
After 5 games
1) Luton Town 13
2) Newport County 12
3) Shrewsbury 11
4) Oxford United 11
5) Tranmere 9
6) Northampton 9
7) Plymouth 8
Other teams of note
Morecambe – 9th with 8 points
Exeter – 15th with 6 points
Dagenham – 22nd with 2 points
Wimbledon 24th – 0 points
We have been able to catch up with Dean Wilson for a chat about his thoughts on his sides start to the season
Dean, firstly congratulations on getting the job and also on a fantastic start to the season!
Thanks, yes the season has started well for us. We have showed that we are capable of playing some good stuff but it’s still early stages. The season isn’t dictated by 5 games. Of course it has set us up well but there is still a lot to do.
What are your thoughts on the transfers the club made in the summer?
I must say I am delighted with the talent we have been able to acquire this summer. I sat down with the board at the start of June and we discussed areas to specifically focus on. We agreed that we needed a solid back line, so that was a particular place we targeted. The two loanees have settled really well in training and Jake (Bidwell) is already a proven player on the pitch. Ben (Wilson) is a young talent in the England so we should be grateful he has chosen to spend a year here. With regards to Tommie (Hoban), it was a deal I never thought we would be able to pull off. The fee was minimal for a player of such talent. Then there is Jack (Grealish). He is a really exciting talent in world football let alone British, so for him to come here is something special for all our fans.
Do you have any comments on the dismissal of Micky as manager after he was in charge for just 3 weeks?
What happened with Micky was unfortunate, but it does not involve me. He had his reasons, but I have been assured by the board that I have their full backing
Well thank you for speaking to us today and good luck in the coming months.
Thank you

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Hi guys, I've been lurking for a fe weeks and thought I'd sign up and hopefully participate a bit if that's ok?
I'm well into my third year on my MUFC Career so won't bother posting that, but definitely want to post a CM on here and was looking for some opinions on here to who I should go for?
Little bit about myself to help you choose?
I am an avid MUFC fan, but live about an half hour away form norwich and hold a season ticket for NCFC.
I play all matches on my career and don't sim at all.
I try to make realistic signings for the club I'm managing.
I play on world class.
I think that's it really?
So the question is does anybody have any idea who I should manage, I'm thinking it's between Norwich and Borussia Dortmund? Unless anyone has any objections on either of those?
Thanks guys
Jack.
If I were you I would pick Norwich out of those two teams. It's your local team which always adds something when doing a career and it will be nice seeing you take them to the top of England.-Simppu12-

Out of the two i'd definitely go with Norwich. There squad is 'ok' and should you get them promoted it will be a real challenge to build the squad back up to Premier League status. With your career mode style from the 3 facts you gave us i think you would prefer Norwich more as wellComment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Hey guys. I've been watching some stuff on you tube and stumbled across a series called youth team legends. Basically they have taken a league 2 side and put all there money into youth players and simmed 2 seasons. They then place a restriction that they can only sign players either from there own youth academy or players that are not real, just ones that the game created. I really like the sound of this challenge. Would you guys be interested in following this? The first 2 seasons I would just do a youth squad update and if I have promoted anyone but start proper updates in season 3. Kind of like I am the youth coach promoted to manager. I would run this alongside my Stoke City career. I was thinking of using Northampton Town as the club.

@Jackattack92 welcome to the forum these guys here are way cool.
@xstu78x I thought about doing that as well one time. I wanted to just to take a club and build solely through the youth academy. That might be a project that I will take on later and might do it with Champions League 2 team later for a REAL challenge.Currently playing: (In order of Most Time)

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
TORINO SEASON 1 2014/15
JANUARY
CHIEVO 2
Botta 3
Izco 89
TORINO 1
Quagliarella 33 (pen)
We were hit from a sucker punch straight from kick off and never really recovered. We were lucky to get back into the game after being awarded a soft penalty and as gutting as it was to concede a late goal we couldn't really complain about the final score as the better team won.
TORINO 2
Rafinha 5
Larrondo 90
AC MILAN 2
Honda 76
Torres 84
A really good game of football between two teams in the top 4. We got off to a great start when Rafinha turned the Milan centre backs inside out with clever footwork before curling his shot into the top corner. It was end to end stuff from that point on and it was a surprise it took until the last 15 minutes until the next goal. Milan looked to have win it with 2 goals in 8 minutes but substitute Larrondo stabbed after a goal mouth scramble deep into injury time to claim the draw.
TORINO 1
Rafinha 51
GENOA 0
A scrappy game in which neither team ever really had control. It was the in form Rafinha who won us the game, latching on to a through ball from Quagliarella and rounding the keeper to slot home. Nocerino went off injured during the game and it was later confirmed he had broken his toe and would be out for at least 3 months.
CESENA 0
TORINO 4
Rafinha 24, 28
Vives 45
Larrondo 88
We blitzed Cesena in the first half and Rafinha continued his excellent form with 2 more goals in the opening 30 minutes. Vives put the game out of reach on the stroke if halftime with another 25 yarder, his second of the season. We took it easy in the second half and had to wait until 2 minutes from time before completing the rout with Larrondo once again scoring from the bench.
ITALIAN CUP
ROMA 2
Gervinho 89
Totti 96
TORINO 2
Bennasi 50
Farnerud 116
PENS....ROMA 4 - TORINO 3
A thrilling quarter final which we controlled for a majority of the match and deserved the lead when Bennasi, in for the injured Nocerino, gave us the lead at the start of the second half. Roma didn't really cause us any problems but a minute from time we committed to many players forward at a corner and were punished on the counter. Totti gave Roma the lead at the start of extra time and it looked like being the winner until deep into the second period of extra time when Farnerud had a go from 20 yards out and the ball snuck into the bottom corner. That was enough to take the game to a penalty shoot out which Roma won 4-3.
SERIE A
1. AC Milan 41
2. Juventus 41
3. Napoli 37
4. Roma 36
5. Torino 34
6. Inter 33
7. Fiorentina 32
LEAGUE TOP SCORERS
1. Tevez (Juventus) 13
2. Quagliarella (Torino) 11
3. Gervinho (Roma) 11
4. Torres (AC Milan) 10
5. Palacio (Inter) 10
FEBRUARY FIXTURES
Serie A- Sampdoria (h)
Serie A- Verona (a)
Serie A- Inter (a)
Serie A- Cagliari (h)
Europa League- Hull City (a)
Serie A- Fiorentina (a)
Europa League- Hull City (h)
A pretty mixed month really. I'm disappointed to be out of the cup as that was a winnable competition in my eyes. We also dropped a couple of places in the league but have a game in hand over the top two so win that and we are still in the title race, although I don't see us maintaining a title challenge. I will be posting a transfer deadline day roundup tomorrow morning.
Thanks for reading.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
It is time for our Swansea City Novemer 2015 update.
The month of November was very good for The Jacks as we really climbed the table. This 7 game winning streak has us into third in the table 28 points. This also included an away victory at Stamford Bridge over league leading Chelsea 2-1. December gets rolling tomorrow with an away match at Old Trafford against Man U.
The team announces that Jefferson Montero is player of the month. His energetic play and key goal scoring has led Swansea on this amazing win streak.
