    Exeter City F.C.
    FIFA 15 - Season 1

    The Grecians

    April

    Exeter City 3 - Morecambe 2
    EXE - Williams 70', Sercombe 78', Cummins 85'
    MOR - Fleming 11', Wright 30'

Morecambe opened against their old manager when Fleming tracked down a ball that was saved by the keeper and finished it easily for the early lead. They then extended the lead to 2 after shook off a defender and blasted a shot into the net. With Morecambe looking like it had control of the game, Ryan Williams refused to go down easily to his old club. He put Exeter on the board with a thunderous strike from the right side that found it's way perfectly into the top corner on the near post. Sercombe then tied the game up after receiving a pass from Williams and then dribbling through the defense and finishing past the keeper. With the game tied up, Williams played a beautiful ball to Cummins who fired the ball into the back of the net to give Tex Bumosix his first win against his old club after the last match ended in a draw.

    Portsmouth 0 - Exeter City 1
    EXE - Wilson 90'

Both teams had several chances to open the scoring throughout the match, the best being Portsmouth penalty in the 27th minute. Taylor stepped up and struck the ball. The keeper went the opposite way, but the ball struck the post and was cleared out by an Exeter defender. The game was back and forth the rest of the way with no team able to break it open. Finally, in the 90th minute, Wilson took the ball away from the last defender and went through on goal before placing it just past the keeper for the one and only goal of the match.

    AFC Wimbledon 1 - Exeter City 1
    WIM - Tubbs 90'
    EXE - Cummins 25'

With the F.A. Cup semi-finals just 2 days away, Exeter played with their reserve side. Cummins struck first after he got past the defense and blasted a shot past the keeper. Exeter held off several Wimbledon attacks, until they finally cracked in the 90th minute. A chipped ball over the top landed at Sainted-Luce's feet on the left wing and he crossed the ball into Tubbs for the open back post finish to secure a point from the match. Bumosix and Chicobass shook hands as the Wimbledon manager made sure to make time to congratulate Bumosix on his club's promotion.

    F.A. Cup Semi-Final
    Exeter City 2 - Aston Villa 3
    EXE - Reid 40', Sercombe 43'
    ASV - Westwood 5', Delph 39', 80'

Aston Villa got on the board first after Westwood received the ball deep in the box and fired after a quick turn for the easy opener. Aston Villa then displayed great passing ability as they drew the defense out of position before laying it off to Delph for the open finish to extend the lead to 2-0. Reid then came down the other end and faked left before bringing the ball back right and beating the keeper to cut the lead in half. Exeter then won the ball back in the midfield before playing it forward to Ariyibi on the left wing. He crossed it in to Sercombe for the back post tap in and a tie game going into half. Aston Villa then took advantage of a counter attack getting out ahead of the defense and getting it to Delph's feat for his second goal of the night and the winning margin of 3-2 to advance to the F.A. Cup Fina.

    Exeter City 3 - Hartlepool 2
    EXE - Ariyibi 27', Wilson 37', Grimes 80'
    HAR - Loza 45', Harewood 60'

Williams received the ball on the right side of the pitch just past the center circle and paused to read the field. He spotted Ariyibi making a run on the opposite side towards goal and played an absolutely beautiful ball over top that landed perfectly in his run and he struck a first time volley to open the scoring. Wilson then doubled the lead after beating the defense up the middle and firing from just inside the box past the keeper. Loza cut the lead in half after a nice fake gave him an open finish. Harewood then headed home a cross to even it up at 2-2. Wilson received the ball off a corner before firing, but it was saved. Grimes found the loose ball and knocked it in for the winning goal.

    Youth Academy

Aaron McKenzie (England) 16 years old 59-63 OVR 74-80 POT.
-At only 16 years old Aaron McKenzie still has a lot of growth to accomplish as a player. The youth coaches seem to have found a role for him on the left side of the midfield and he seems to be a natural fit there with his strong left foot. He is known to be highly technically gifted.

Ben Devera (England) 15 years old 47-51 OVR 65-69 POT.
-The 15 years old favors playing in the defensive midfield in a holding role. However, he is known for his playmaking abilities giving him a lot of versatility in the middle of the pitch.

Drew Tootle (England) 17 years old 54-58 OVR 70-74 POT.
-The young keeper is a giant at 6'5" and only 17 years old. He has the potential to be the future first choice keeper for Exeter if he develops properly.

Fraser Walker (England) 17 years old 52-56 OVR 64-68 POT.
-The 17 year old player is making the majority of his appearances as an attacking midfielder in the academy. He is known for his technical gifts in the midfield and has the potential to make the senior squad next season if he continues to develop well.

Isaac Fryers (England) 15 years old 53-59 OVR 72-80 POT.
-The young 15 year old prefers to play right in the center of the pitch. He plays with a more defensive mindset, but has a tendency to play more in the center rather than in the traditional holding position.

-At only 15 years old, he has found himself a role as a right back within the youth squad. He is a pacey right back who likes to get involved in the attack with his ability to overlap with the midfielders.

Exeter City Player of the Month

    Ryan Williams

Williams really established himself as the true midfield general for Exeter this month. He repaid the manager's faith in bringing him over with him from Morecambe by displaying great poise and vision on the pitch. He played a hand in several of the scoring plays this month, assisting in several, and taking part in the build up for several more. With two matches left in the season he looks poised to take home the assist title for League 2.

    Press Conference

Good to see you all here. I am in a great mood tonight after we have earned our spot as champions for the league. I am going to open up the floor to questions now.

Q: Congratulations on winning the league first of all. With two matches left in the season, will you be committing much to these last two? Or will you just play some people to get experience out there?

A: In another circumstance maybe, but our next match is against Plymouth Argyle. Regardless of the situation, this derby is one that we will always want to win. We don't get to play teams from Devon very often, so we know this is a special match for the fans. On top of that, this is our last home match of the season as well. We are going to give it everything we have. The last match is against Dagenham, and I have yet to make a decision on that one.

Q: Unfortunate loss in the F.A. cup to Aston Villa on their late goal. What do you think of your performance this year?

A: I think we went above and beyond all expectations to levels no one thought possible. The loss was a tough one since I felt we were right in it, and possible even about to take a lead with how we were attacking their goal. Unfortunately the ball just rolled the other way, but we have nothing to be ashamed of.

Q: You managed to beat your old club, Morecambe, in a thriller of a match. Were your emotions running high throughout that match?

A: Beating Morecambe was something that I was hoping for. I certainly did not want to lose to them after only managing a draw in the first match this season. Ryan Williams looked to have the same fire and passion for the match that I did and he essentially won it for us with his play. I still have a lot of good memories with that club, but Exeter is my new home now, and I feel the win really helped to move past that now.

Q: With the season winding down, you have some decisions to make in regards to next season. The first being if you will exercise Wilson's option to buy, and the second being what moves you will need to make to improve for League 1 next season. Can you give any insight on your thought process for both of those?

A: We would be absolutely thrilled to keep James with us on a permanent basis. We do have a clause giving us that option, and the wins in the F.A. Cup certainly gave us some funds to work with. The rest us up to James on whether he wants to stay here or not. As far as what to improve on next season, we have contracts worked out already to bring in two new players as we have discussed before, and other than that we may look at some targets in the midfield. If James moves back to United, we will be looking to bring in a replacement striker as well.

That is all I can say for today. Thank you all for being here. I hope you have enjoyed this season as much as I have. Our focus is now on beating that other Devon team now. Have a good day.

        Swansea City 2-1 Vfb Stuttgart
        Swa Sigurdsson 47’ Dyer 60’
        Vfb Ibisevic 68’
        MOTM: Ibisevic (Vfb)
Terrible displays from both keepers. Fabianski was beaten by a chip while still on his line, leading to my purchase of De Gea but Vlachodimos somehow palmed the ball into his own net from Dyer’s shot, which was aimed straight at him. (Note: Goalkeeper Ability put up to 49)

        Empoli 0-2 Swansea City
        Swa Montero 63’ Gomis 90’
        MOTM: Zabret (Swa)
Montero is a beast. He was brought on with 30 mins to go, after a dour first half, and scored a 25 yard screamer, as well as providing the cross for Gomis’ goal. Zabret, filling in for Fabianski, made several top saves to earn himself the MOTM award.

        Swansea City 3-0 SC Bastia
Swa Rangel 11’ Sigurdsson 58’ (Pen) Donnelly 66’
        MOTM: Samuel (SCB)
The game started off quite quickly, with Rangel scoring a stunning half-volley from the rebound of a corner, and a few brilliant saves from the Bastia keeper. After half time, Donnelly was brought down in the box, and Sigurdsson converted the resulting penalty. Donnelly got through on goal again, and easily converted unhindered this time. Samuel barely kept the match from becoming a massacre, with 3 top class saves in a row in injury time. (Note: Goalkeeper Ability was increased to 50 after this game)

        Press Conference

Journalist: Firstly Mr. Williams, congratulations on those 3 excellent wins in preseason!

Williams: Thanks, it was great to get wins in all our planned matches, and to give some of our younger lads game time.

Journalist: What was the reasoning behind letting Bony go?

Williams: Well, Wilf is a world class player, and he wanted to be at a club where he could get European football this season. Once we got the offer from Arsenal, we decided to allow him to leave.

Journalist: What about the rumoured Ashley Williams and Routledge departures?

Williams: I can confirm that Manchester United came in with a £12.5M bid, and with that kind of money, we had to accept, however, I’m ecstatic that Ash has decided to stay with us, as losing your captain is never going to be brilliant for a club. As for Wayne, we’ve received no offers for him at the moment.

Journalist: Well, what about the De Gea arrival?

Williams: David won’t be starting for us tomorrow, as he picked up a knock in training, which is a shame as he wanted to face his old club. Zabret will fill in, due to Fabianski’s poor form. Now, I've got to be going for training.

        Manchester United 2-1 Swansea City
        Mun van Persie 21’ 87’
        Swa Dyer 40’
        MOTM: van Persie (Mun)

A poor performance in our first Prem game. Van Persie scored his first goal from a free kick that flew past Zabret, who was playing with De Gea injured, but Dyer equalised a little before half time. It looked to be finishing level, but the Dutchman scored a winner after a brilliant through ball from Shaw.

        Swansea 3-0 Burnley
        Swa Gomis 5’ 58’ Montero 61’
        MOTM: Gomis (Swa)

Much better this time. An early goal from Gomis set the tone, and Leon Britton left the crossbar rattling after he struck it from 30 yards. Heaton made a massive string of brilliant saves, leading to 10 corners, but the goalkeeper was once again beaten by Gomis and Montero to seal the Swans’ win.

        Chelsea 0-1 Swansea
        Swa Gomis 43’
        MOTM: De Gea (Swa)

Superb performance here. Not many chances on either side, but Montero swung a beautiful ball into the box, but Gomis missed it. Zouma took a swing to try and clear it, but missed, and gave Gomis a golden opportunity he couldn’t pass up. Chelsea bombarded the defence with aerial balls, so I brought Amat on and played 5-4-1 for the win.

        Swansea 3-1 West Brom
        Swa Campbell 11’ 23’ Gomis 15
        Wba Yacob 54’
        MOTM: Campbell

Campbell made his debut along with Illicevic, and both played brilliantly. We began well, with a Campbell tap-in after 10 minutes, and Gomis scored from Illicevic’s cross moments later. Campbell added another after a brilliant through ball from Sigurdsson, and it looked like it was going to be a walkover. However, West Brom came back, defended well after the 3rd, and Yacob added another after a corner, but it was too little, too late, as we took another win.

Table as of 1st Sept 2014

        Swansea 4P 9pts
        Aston Villa 4P 9pts
        Man Utd 3P 9pts
        Man City 3P 7pts
        QPR 3P 7pts
        Arsenal 3P 6pts
        ……….

        Hull 3P 1pt
        Sunderland 3P 1pt
        Everton 2P 0pts
        Crystal Palace 3P 0pts

        Press conference

Journalist: So, Mr. Williams, an excellent month, top of the table, but the teams behind you have a game in hand. So, care to tell us how you got these brilliant results?

Williams: Well, it’s just a result of the training and the players’ effort in games. We were disappointed after the United game, but now they’ve given 110% in the other games, and I plan for it to stay. I will give them a little rest from training over the international break though, as we’ve seen that the training can get a little strenuous, as evidenced by Rangel being out for 4 months after a nasty muscular injury.

Journalist: Gomis was awarded the player of the month award for this month, anything to say about that?

Williams: Well, not to depreciate Bafe’s award, but it’s not just his finishing doing the work. The wingers have been excellent, whipping in crosses from every angle, and contributing with a few goals now and again. David has also been a sensation between the sticks so far, and hopefully we’ll keep this up for the rest of the season.

Journalist: So, what was the reasoning behind letting Routledge go?

Williams: Well, Wayne wasn’t really fitting into the team very well, and he didn’t appreciate the longer training hours, so when we got such a big bid, we felt it would be best for all parties involved if the transfer went through. We also got Joel and Ivo in with that money, and they were both excellent in their debut match, and willing to work hard to break into this team.

Journalist: Final question, are you going to revert back to that 5-4-1 you were using when Chelsea were putting you under pressure at any point?

Williams: Yes, I think it’s a very effective anti-air formation, with our big centre backs and our nippy wingers able to hit on the counter. Now, I’ve got to be going, still got some paperwork to fill out after those transfers.

I'm finally getting used to World Class, and I'm very surprised by some of these results. An away win against Chelsea!

          Ha Ho He

          November 2015

          Champions League
          Hertha BSC 2 - 0 SC Braga
          Bahebeck 32', Höjbjerg 89'

          1899 Hoffenheim 1 - 2 Hertha BSC
          Acquah 82'
          Schär 15' pen, Lacazette 30'

          Hertha BSC 1 - 0 Nuremberg
          Lacazette 63'

          Champions League
          Hertha BSC 2 - 1 Paris Saint-Germain
          Lacazette 47', Bittencourt 90'
          Cabaye 43'

Hertha BSC are still unbeaten in the Champions League after they won their second game against Paris Saint-Germain. This game was much more even than the last one but Cabaye scored first from outside the box right before half time. Hertha's superstriker Alexandre Lacazette then scored the equaliser in the first minutes of the second half. He ran from kick off past PSG's players to the box and there he chopped past David Luiz before curling a shot past Sirigu. The winner was scored in stoppage time once again by Leonardo Bittencourt who cut in from the left flank. Then he shot the ball in the net and the stadium exploded.

          Borussia Mönchengladbach 3 - 1 Hertha BSC
          Mlapa 18', 51', Nordtveit 86'
          Berardi 12'

A real catastrophy as Hertha failed again to get a victory against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Everything looked fine when Berardi cut in and scored in the 12th minute but only six minutes after that everything went to hell. Peniel Mlapa scored a header in the 18th minute and his team got the lead in the 51st minute with a near post shot. In the 86th minute Nordtveit got a third after a counter attack.

          League Table

          1. Borussia Dortmund, 36 pts
          2. Bayer Leverkusen, 35 pts
          3. Hertha BSC, 35 pts (game in hand)
          4. Bayern München, 29 pts
          5. VfL Wolfsburg, 24 pts
          6. Borussia Mönchengladbach, 23 pts
          --------------------------------------------
          16. FC Köln, 12 pts
          17. FC Augsburg, 10 pts
          18. Mainz 05, 7 pts

          Player of the Month

          Alexandre Lacazette

Lacazette gets his third award of the season after another succesful month. In November the Frenchman scored three important goals which were the deciders of the games. He has now finished 12 goals in the league which is four more than anyone else has scored. The striker has been really important for Hertha and the team has had scoring problems when he hasn't played.

          Press Conference

You had a really good month except for the game against Borussia Mönchengladbach. What happened against them?

I don't know at all. We are still missing Fabian Lustenberger in defence and it's showing. Our defence just isn't performing well without him and that's something I'm looking to work on in the transfer window. Mönchengladbach had a good game, props to them for that.

You are third in the league but you have a game in hand. How important will that prove to be?

I think it will be really important. We are a point behind Dortmund who are first and we can get all three points from our game against Stuttgart. We will see what happens and hopefully that will be enough.

You have secured your place in the Champions League knockout stages and you have won all of your games. How far can you go?

I already answered this last time but I'll answer this again. Realistically, we can make it to the quarter finals but everything is possible. If everything goes our way we can win the whole tournament.

Who are you looking to buy in the transfer window?

Thank you for reading this post! I hope you have enjoyed it! Any feedback or suggestions will be appreciated!

I don't know what I pressed, but I pressed something that closed all my tabs when in the middle of an update.

Things are not going well because it was the third time I was writing. So sorry but there will only be results, no press conferences because I had wrote so much!!!!!

That really sucks! I know how annoying it is from my own experience. Today is just not your day.

Don't worry, we'll enjoy the update. A little trick I use is copying the text while writing.

Leon Robinson (England) 15 years old 53-63 OVR 70-82 POT.

Ah unlucky in the semis man but a great season nonetheless. Gotta be pleased

                      Transfer Watch

If you were to ask anyone why Coventry have been so successful this season, they would point you towards the defence. Having conceded just 11 goals this season and having 16 clean sheets, things are going great at the back. Apart from in one aspect. Club captain Reda Johnson is out of contract at the end of the season, and Coventry can't afford his wages. This means he is available for free.

Coventry will be looking to trade him for someone, anyone, just so they don't lose a windfall on the man from Benin. Another player Coventry will be looking to ship on is striker Simeon Jackson. The Canadian doesn't fit the new policy and since Nouble hit form, he has not done so well.

So who will Coventry be looking at. Well they have been linked with Norwich centre back Ryan Bennett, who is said to be the replacement for Reda Johnson. Young and English, he fits Cee's policy.

Want away goalkeeper Tommy Lee of Chesterfield is also linked, despite the incredible form of Allsop. Another goalkeeper Wes Foderingham from Swindon has been linked on a Bosman transfer, as has striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Chris Dagnall.

Congratulations on making the J. Paint finals! Hopefully you can keep progressing in the FA Cup as well, seeing as Bristol looks like a difficult opponent. Who are you up against in the final? Unless you want it to be a surprise :0

Tough loss man. I was actually going to say on your last update that the only team I'd worry about would be Tottenham since in '14 they are difficult to play against, but it was Villa who kicked you out :/ You were making a comeback but they had to get a late goal. Reaching the semi final with League 2 squad is still a huge achievement though. I'm sure you still got a big prize money out of it!

Gillingham, however it is only the semi final of the full tournament. The JP Trophy is split into 2 areas and each area has a competition before the final against the 2 winners
