With Morecambe looking like it had control of the game, Ryan Williams refused to go down easily to his old club. He put Exeter on the board with a thunderous strike from the right side that found it's way perfectly into the top corner on the near post. Sercombe then tied the game up after receiving a pass from Williams and then dribbling through the defense and finishing past the keeper. With the game tied up, Williams played a beautiful ball to Cummins who fired the ball into the back of the net to give Tex Bumosix his first win against his old club after the last match ended in a draw.
Portsmouth 0 - Exeter City 1
EXE - Wilson 90'
Both teams had several chances to open the scoring throughout the match, the best being Portsmouth penalty in the 27th minute. Taylor stepped up and struck the ball. The keeper went the opposite way, but the ball struck the post and was cleared out by an Exeter defender. The game was back and forth the rest of the way with no team able to break it open. Finally, in the 90th minute, Wilson took the ball away from the last defender and went through on goal before placing it just past the keeper for the one and only goal of the match.
AFC Wimbledon 1 - Exeter City 1

With the F.A. Cup semi-finals just 2 days away, Exeter played with their reserve side. Cummins struck first after he got past the defense and blasted a shot past the keeper. A chipped ball over the top landed at Sainted-Luce's feet on the left wing and he crossed the ball into Tubbs for the open back post finish to secure a point from the match. Bumosix and Chicobass shook hands as the Wimbledon manager made sure to make time to congratulate Bumosix on his club's promotion.

Reid then came down the other end and faked left before bringing the ball back right and beating the keeper to cut the lead in half. Exeter then won the ball back in the midfield before playing it forward to Ariyibi on the left wing. He crossed it in to Sercombe for the back post tap in and a tie game going into half. Aston Villa then took advantage of a counter attack getting out ahead of the defense and getting it to Delph's feat for his second goal of the night and the winning margin of 3-2 to advance to the F.A. Exeter City Player of the Month
Ryan Williams

Williams really established himself as the true midfield general for Exeter this month. He repaid the manager's faith in bringing him over with him from Morecambe by displaying great poise and vision on the pitch. He played a hand in several of the scoring plays this month, assisting in several, and taking part in the build up for several more. With two matches left in the season he looks poised to take home the assist title for League 2.
Press Conference
Good to see you all here. I am in a great mood tonight after we have earned our spot as champions for the league. I am going to open up the floor to questions now.
Q: Congratulations on winning the league first of all. With two matches left in the season, will you be committing much to these last two? Or will you just play some people to get experience out there?
A: In another circumstance maybe, but our next match is against Plymouth Argyle. Regardless of the situation, this derby is one that we will always want to win. We don't get to play teams from Devon very often, so we know this is a special match for the fans. On top of that, this is our last home match of the season as well. We are going to give it everything we have. The last match is against Dagenham, and I have yet to make a decision on that one.
Q: Unfortunate loss in the F.A. cup to Aston Villa on their late goal. What do you think of your performance this year?
A: I think we went above and beyond all expectations to levels no one thought possible. The loss was a tough one since I felt we were right in it, and possible even about to take a lead with how we were attacking their goal. Unfortunately the ball just rolled the other way, but we have nothing to be ashamed of.
Q: You managed to beat your old club, Morecambe, in a thriller of a match. Were your emotions running high throughout that match?
A: Beating Morecambe was something that I was hoping for. I certainly did not want to lose to them after only managing a draw in the first match this season. Ryan Williams looked to have the same fire and passion for the match that I did and he essentially won it for us with his play. I still have a lot of good memories with that club, but Exeter is my new home now, and I feel the win really helped to move past that now.
Q: With the season winding down, you have some decisions to make in regards to next season. The first being if you will exercise Wilson's option to buy, and the second being what moves you will need to make to improve for League 1 next season. Can you give any insight on your thought process for both of those?
A: We would be absolutely thrilled to keep James with us on a permanent basis. We do have a clause giving us that option, and the wins in the F.A. Cup certainly gave us some funds to work with. The rest us up to James on whether he wants to stay here or not. As far as what to improve on next season, we have contracts worked out already to bring in two new players as we have discussed before, and other than that we may look at some targets in the midfield. If James moves back to United, we will be looking to bring in a replacement striker as well.
