First, let me say sorry for letting you all down. I have decided to start a career with Hull City and not Tottenham. I know everyone here was excited about Spurs updates (especially all you Gooners ) but after looking at the roster and thinking of transfer ideas, I realized I cannot sell anyone. Yes, I am one of those fans that loves the club so much, nobody is for sale. So instead of handcuffing myself like that, I went with a random team, newly promoted Hull City.
I think going with Hull is a great idea, nobody is doing Hull City, I started an Everton career mode and felt the same way...I just couldn't sell anyone!...Going with Hull is good because you can build the team too suit you! and it's a good challenge!!

Episode 2 for my Peterborough Manager mode should be up tomorrow!, I'm thinking of adding a press conference into my episode, so if you guys have any questions please i'll answer them in the press conference!

In how many seasons do you hope to reach the big time, the Premier League?

Do you think that promotion is a realistic goal this year?

My gameplan is to evenly split the field players between offense and defense so unless we're heavily backed up we're relying on our back 4 and our CDM to handle the opponent's attack. The wide midfielders and the CAM will come down near the CDM's default area if the attack is heavy. The fullbacks are key here because I do get them involved on offense (as noted by the red lines) so they need to be able to recover and go box-to-box (stamina is a big deal here). My CB's need to be able to mark and stand tackle well, I'm not looking to do a whole lot of sliding unless I absolutely have to. I need an all-around CDM that will more often than not halt the attack or at least significantly slow it down while the rest of the defense settles in. The green lines denote how easy I try to make it for my defense to come out playing, there should always be a window for the ball to get out. I'm not trying to be Tony Pulis and ask my CB's to make long passes up the field.

        Offense

Oh it's LIT. When we're right we can come at you in so many different ways. We're forcing you to commit either inside or outside and if you're not disguising it well (you can't be everywhere at the same time) we're gonna make you pay. It's a big deal for me to have a CAM I can trust and when I have him he has the green light to free roam which means it can easily turn into 3 attackers so I enjoy using the wide midfielders/fullbacks to come down the wing and cross the ball. Doesn't matter if they're not great at crossing or if the guys in the box aren't world-beaters in the air, the amount of bodies I get into the box means the ball has a good chance of finding someone. The wide midfielders are directed to run into the box on crosses from the opposing side. If I choose to attack on the inside that's where the CAM shines, he needs to be able to pass, I am a wiz at putting through passes mostly because I'm always looking to make that pass. That's why I get so many assists. That's where I played when I played regularly from the ages of 6 to 19, a midfielder always looking to move the ball.

You can sort of get the same ball movement in a 4-2-3-1 but there's an added dimension to your offense when you have 2 strikers. Again the passing is key here. Also from time to time if in rhythm the wide midfielders will be in the winger position and can cut inside with the ball which can surprise defenses.

        any questions/comments/suggestions?
So I've also been considering running the 4-1-2-1-2 with Forest, but since my methodology is quite different, so is my game plan. You could say that it's a combination of possession and counter-attacking. I like to keep the ball, play it short and work my way up the pitch. But on opposition corners and set pieces, or when we recover the ball in our own half, I like my boys to unleash devastation on the break. That means pace, power and strength across my front line. I generally play on the standard counter-attacking tactics, but it's not all about rushing the opposition at every single chance. More so about creating that little bit of space that lets a player burst forward at speed. I use LT often to hold the ball up, turn and make space. Another reason I want to use this system is I have a very clear idea of who I want to build my team around, but I won't have the funds to buy him until I make the Premier League at least, and I don't want to buy a stop-gap solution. Here's my dream 4-1-2-1-2 lineup based on players currently in form so you get an idea of how I play.

        GK Cech
        RB Carvajal
        CB Bonucci
        CB Huth
        LB Sidibe
        CDM Krychowiak
        RM Willian
        LM Matuidi
        CAM Payet
        ST Aubameyang
        ST Bacca

Who's Sidibe Indi? Matuidi is a bit unorthodox out wide but he definitely has the physical attributes. I'm assuming you are looking for him to come inside when you are defending to provide more solidarity.

In other news I should be able to get back to Accrington now that school has finished. I am going away for three weeks without any access to Internet on Sunday but I plan to get a couple of months done today and tomorrow before I leave.

            Few press conference questions:
1: What do you see as the biggest challenge this season?
2: What is a realistic goal for you this year?
3: Do you have any tranfer targets you're looking at?
4: Who's a player on your team that will be a big name in 3 years?

Djibril Sidibe is the most defensive-minded left back in Ligue 1. He plays for Lille and made the Ligue 1 team of the season but only the standby list of Deschamps' squad for the Euros. He contributes in attack and defence, and had the pace and stamina to get up and down quickly all game.

As for Matuidi's selection, I think the most important thing for any team is balance. With Payet and both strikers being so offensive-minded, I thought a workhorse on one flank would be necessary to make sure we don't get overrun. You could argue that with Willian's work rate, I could afford to field a more offensive but still complete player on the left, such as Asamoah or Alex Sandro. But I like Matuidi's skill set. He's got the energy to keep going all game, he's defensively aware and certainly is offensively capable, especially from just outside the box. And if I need to field two holding players against a tough opponent, I can slide him in next to Krychowiak without losing that extra man in attack.

My bad, I put his surname into Google and only found a retired Malian footballer. Looks a decent player and no doubt he'll move this summer.

I agree with your reasoning on Matuidi, he's a prime example of a box to box midfielder. But also good with the ball.

Bad news: Everton file got corrupted.

Good news: I have made a ****-ton more files.

"I don't know how to feel about this" news: My last save that is usable is in the transfer deadline window, so you really won't miss anything, but it more means that everything that I have written down so far has gone to waste. Everything that I have posted though is up to date, so there is that.

In short: Eh, nothing major happened?

That's frustrating, but at least you were smart enough to have multiple saves. I had to learn that the hard way in the past.
