Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Congratulations on the wedding and the pup, Chico! Great to see you back on here. Your little fella is absolutely adorable. He definitely has some terrier in him! Warms my heart to hear that you adopted rather than supporting the breeding industry. Adopted dogs give you nothing but pure, unbridled love and affection. You can see how grateful they are to be loved, and it's given back to you many times over. Here's to a long and healthy life for the little guy.
Thanks man! The shelter said he's a shepherd mix but everybody tells us he looks like a Jack Russell terrier. He's been growing pretty quick though so who knows. Doesn't seem like he's going to be a huge dog which is a good thing; we can barely handle him in his current size! So far I haven't seen that forever lasting gratefulness that adopted dogs give since this guy is a little devil haha he's probably too young to even know what the shelter really was lol thanks for the kind words Indi great to hear from you again. Are you still in Russia?

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Alright, let's do this.
Spoiler
Breaking news out of Kenilworth Road, Luton Town FC manager Nathan Jones has officially parted ways with the club as he has decided to return to Brighton & Hove Albion as a member of the coaching staff with potential to take the reins of the first team in the near future. In the meantime, Luton Town have made a desperate move to quickly get a replacement and have signed L. Chavez to take over the managerial responsibilities. Chavez joins the Hatters after serving 2 seasons as the AFC Wimbledon sporting director, but has zero experience as a manager. When asked about his decision to leave the Dons, who are currently seen as candidates for promotion to League 1 this season, Chavez stated, "It was a tough decision but the right one for my career. Although I very much enjoyed my time with the Wombles, my passion is on the field. I leave Wimbledon with the feeling of accomplishment; I think they are set to accomplish great things now and it should be an exciting fixture when we face them. My work there is complete. I needed a career change now, and Luton were the first to present the opportunity to me."
Chavez received several manager offers from other football clubs, but Luton Town were the first Football League side to make an official offer. It is unclear if this is a permanent offer from Luton or if Chavez is seen merely as a temporary replacement, not to mention that Luton have a long history of financial problems which could also cost Chavez his job in the future. To this, Chavez commented:
"Yes, I am very much aware of the club's history, but aside from financial troubles history also shows us that this club is full of fighters. They get knocked down and they pick themselves up again. The club always has promotion in mind, and I intend to deliver that to them."
The risk is great, but the contract has been signed. Chavez leaves a comfortable role with a team in ascendance to join a club with an uncertain future. Luton were promoted to the football League 2 after the 2013-2014 season, previously losing to AFC Wimbledon in a penalty shootout in 2011 which saw the Dons achieve promotion to the football league, and have a long history of many promotions and relegations. Luton Town has played in England's top division, but they were last relegated from the top tier in 1992.
Dressing Room Crisis
As usual when a team gets a new manager, the players are worried that their playtime will be diminished as they have to start from scratch and impress their new coach. Some players are confident that their play time will not be affected, however the Striker department is where the most uncertainty is coming from. The team has a total of 5 strikers on the squad: the Scotsman Mackail-Smith (67 OVR), McQuoid (66 OVR), Pigott (61 OVR) who has recently secured a permanent move to the club, Marriot (60 OVR) and Banton (53 OVR). Luton Town were previously playing with 2 strikers which meant more rotation, and with a diamond in midfield sometimes there were several strikers on the field filling different roles. However, Chavez has previously stated that his preferred style of play includes only 1 striker on the field usually as a lone man up front. This could mean that some of the squad's strikers will not see as much playing time - at least not in their natural position. We have not received further information on how this has impacted the squad's morale yet.
Conclusion
Folks, in the few days of my return you have inspired me. Reading all of your careers again, and for example seeing something like Cabee's career and how he developed Exeter into a monster, has tempted me to return to England for the first time since Wimbledon. I chose not to use Wimbledon again in order to honor my original career, and instead I chose Luton Town. I remember seeing a Luton career on here before but so far it didn't look like it's still active. I plan on handling this career very similar to my Wimbledon career where I will only be signing players from the UK, with perhaps one or two exceptions at the beginning of the career. I'll also try to not sign any players I used with Wimbledon. I will be playing on legendary, and I will not be participating in any of the preseason tournaments cause their prize money is way too high (they were all $2m+!) I felt like it would be cheating if I got extra funds that way, so I will refrain from playing in any preseason tournament until I reach the premier league and the club has a bigger reputation therefore more realistic to be invited to a tournament. Also, I will be playing with a strict board just because I like to suffer and to better reflect Luton's tendency to struggle financially. I don't have wifi at my apartment yet but yesterday I actually took my PS4 over to my parents to update the squads; I'll be playing with the May 26 squad download. My next update will include the start of the season and my thoughts on the squad. Since I rejected to participate in a preseason tournament I guess I don't get a preseason at all so I've got a full month of nothing to do but player training. I can only imagine how long it's gonna take me to get to my first match. It's good to be back!
Thanks for Reading!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Tex: Well somebody is having a tough time in front of the net! All the scoreless draws actually don't worry me as much as the fact that in the games where you were able to score, the most you could score was 1 goal. Looking at your team and formation I thought you could net some more, with a striker like Sharp up front and your youth graduate right behind him. I played with Leeds for a bit last year and even though Sharp wasn't the highest rated he was my striker of choice in the squad.
EDIT: Alright now there you go! Someone is finally banging the goals in. Big 4-0 win to make us forget about your difficulty to score. Shame to see you lose out of the FA Cup but making it to the semis is a huge accomplishment with a squad like Sheffield. Your youth squad looks very promising how many stars is your scout?
My youth scout is 2/2 stars. I always thought those ones brought a good level of talent in without them finding 1-2 future super stars every season.
Also love the Luton Town choice!Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
FIFA 16 - Season 2
The Blades
May 2017
Ipswich Town 1 - 2 Sheffield United
IPS - McGoldrick 85' (PEN)
SHU - Abraham 16' (PEN), 28'
MOTM: Long
Match Summary: The referee liked the sound of his whistle this match and called three penalties throughout the game. The first came in the 16th minute and Abraham finished it easily. Cuvelier led the counter and found Abraham in a gap up the middle and he powered it past the keeper on the near post. Ipswich got a penalty of their own and McGoldrick placed it into the bottom right just far enough to get past the keeper's reach who had guessed correctly but couldn't make the save.
Wigan Athletic 1 - 1 Sheffield United
WIG - Mesa 9'
SHU - Abraham 24'
MOTM: Long
Match Summary: Fraczczak sent a ball into the box from the right wing and Nugent mistimed his jump allowing Mesa get his head on it and direct it past the keeper for the early goal. The excitement was short lived though when Chow was sent off just 3 minutes later after a bad challenge on Davis. The Blades took advantage of the numbers to push forward and it resulted in a cross from Odubajo crossing it in from the right for Abraham to head in on the near post for the equalizer. They couldn't get another the rest of the match though and had to settle for just a point.
Sheffield United 2 - 0 QPR
SHU - Cameron 43', Abraham 61'
MOTM: Long
Match Summary: Cameron got the ball running down the right wing and he cut it towards the middle to fire a hard shot that hit off a defender's foot and that was enough to push it just past the keeper for the opener. Townsend did well to work his way to the middle and fire a hard shot that was saved by the keeper but Abraham was able to chest down the rebound and then tap it in to double the lead.
Sheffield United 0 - 0 Leeds United
MOTM: Davis
Match Summary: This one was a purely defensive display on both sides and no one was able to make a difference on the scoreboard. The Blades barely pressured the away side, and while Leeds had a few more opportunities, nothing was of too much concern. The result was deserving for both sides.
Blackburn Rovers 0 - 1 Sheffield United
SHU - Cameron 61'
MOTM: Barcham
Match Summary: With a spot in the playoff all locked up, the manager for Sheffield United decided to give three more players their senior debuts tonight and get them some experience. It paid off when Tom Linley despite taking a knock early on played a ball through to Cameron on the right side of the box and he powered his shot off the keeper and into the goal.
League Table
Championship Playoff Leg 1
Sheffield United 1 - 0 QPR
SHU - Harris 81'
MOTM: Odubajo
Match Summary: With most of the match gone by and no result for either side, Pearson played the ball to Abraham at the top of the box and he laid the ball off perfectly for Harris running in from the left and he first timed the shot across the goal and inside the far post to give them a goal advantage going into the second leg.
Championship Playoff Leg 2
QPR (2) 2 - 2 (3) Sheffield United
QPR - Fer 31', Emmanuel-Thomas 63'
SHU - Townsend 68', Pearson 77'
MOTM: Woolford
Match Summary: Phillips beat his man to get free on the right side of the box and he slid the ball across for Fer running in on the near post to finish past the keeper. Diakite timed his pass perfectly and he sent Emmanuel-Thomas through on goal to beat the keeper in a 1 on 1. Woolford got free on the right side and he took the ball to the end line before finding Townsend in the middle who took a touch and then powered a shot off the crossbar and in to tie up the aggregate and give them the away goal advantage. It was officially put away when Townsend's shot was deflected back to the middle and Pearson was there to control it and then put it in the back of the net.
Championship Playoff Final
SpoilerMiddlesbrough 1 - 2 Sheffield United
MID - Al Soma 48'
SHU - Abraham 86' (PEN), Davis 103'
MOTM: Nugent
Match Summary: Nugent mistimed his clearance on a free kick and Al Soma jumped on the opportunity and placed the ball in the back of the net to put Middlesbrough one step closer to the Premier League. Odubajo was about to send a cross in and Adomah slid through his plant leg earning him a red card and conceding a penalty in the process. Abraham with the chance at the Premier League on the line stepped to the spot and went to the left side of the goal. The keeper went low but Abraham went high and the match was sent to extra time with the Blades having a man advantage. Abraham got the ball in the box and turned to attack but the defender poked the ball away only to see it fall straight to Davis who powered a shot into the back of the net and sent Sheffield United into the Premier League capping off an unbelievable season.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Newport County A.F.C.
2017-2018 Roster Review
The Exiles wrapped up a second consecutive highly-successful season, once again achieving promotion to the next tier of the English Football League by winning a league title a few weeks in advance. Furthermore, they won the J. Paint Trophy in convincing fashion, outscoring their semi-final and final opponents by a total of 7 goals. Many players played a vital role in Newport County having such a brilliant season so let's take a look at them individually.
Starting XI
GK - Emiliano Martinez (70 OVR) - 57 appearances, 16 clean sheets: The 25-year old from Argentina followed up a strong first season at the club with another solid showing. He had six less clean sheets than the prior season but considering he was playing against better competition that's still a pretty good accomplishment. He was also once again consistent, totaling grades of 7.00 or better in every competition he participated in (pre-season, League 1, COC, F.A., JPT). He rightfully earned a spot in the TOTS. 8.5/10
RB - Moses Odubajo(71 OVR) - 44 apps, 1 goal, 11 assists: The 24-year old from England turned out to be a steal at his price tag of € 1.1 million, turning into a model of consistency all season long. His 11 assists were a team-best, including 7 in league play which placed him among the league leaders. Most importantly, he was able to be an asset on both ends of the field, showing he can be a well-rounded fullback. We'd be shocked if he doesn't remain a starter when next season starts8/10
RCB - Juan Komar (71 OVR) - 48 apps: The 21-year old from Argentina had a second consecutive silently-good season with the club. He gets his job done defensively more often than not. Unfortunately he has failed to contribute offensive in two full seasons when given the opportunity on set plays which is a bit of a concern. Some question whether he'll be able to remain an effective starter at the Championship level. 7/10
LCB - Tyler Blackett (70 OVR) - 46 apps, 2 goals: The 24-year old from England wrapped up a good first season with the club after arriving from Man U for €1 million in the summer. He isn't quite the defender that Komar is but makes up for it with a bit of pace and he contributed two goals this season, most notable a clutch goal in F.A. Cup play to buy The Exiles a replay against Barnsley. Nonetheless, with Luan set to arrive this summer on pre-contract it's assumed that it'll be Blackett who will be moved to a backup role going forward. 7/10
LB - Jerome Binnom-Williams (73 OVR) - 47 apps, 3 goals, 8 assists: The 23-year old from England showed his performance a season ago was no fluke, repeating the amount of times he contributed to the team's scoring by scoring two more times to make up for the two less assists he accumulated. Much like Odubajo he contributes on both ends of the pitch thanks in large part to his outstanding pace.8/10
CDM - Rohan Ince (74 OVR) - 44 apps, 4 goals, 6 assists: If the 25-year old from England felt pressure in replacing Gary Gardner he didn't show it. Ince made up for a small downgrade in attack by showcasing his excellent skills as a defender and quickly adapted to his new team and his reward will be a return to the FL Championship. 8/10
RM - Jack Giles (70 OVR) - 45 apps, 12 goals, 3 assists: In his first full season as a starter the 20-year old academy product from England showed his worth, making up for a dip in assists by increasing his scoring total and showing good consistency with his form. More importantly, he put aside injury concerns that plagued him towards the end of last season. Giles may not have the top potential of some of his academy teammates but he produces which is really what matters.8/10
LM - Bondz Moore (70 OVR) - 44 apps, 4 goals, 10 assists: The 18-year old from England who is "showing great potential" wrapped up his first season as a starter after coming off the bench in the second half of last season following his promotion from the academy. He complemented Giles' play on the other side of the field by providing the assists the offense necessitates from the wings. Moore and Giles are natural wingers so they're not comfortable providing much on defense but they make an effort which is all you can ask for from the youngsters. 8/10
CAM - Clark Gordon (72 OVR) - 47 apps, 14 goals, 6 assists: The 18-year old academy product from Scotland, arguably the top prospect in the club (an exciting prospect), proved Marccelino right in his first season as a pro. The Italian head coach chose to move on from Mark Byrne, who had had the best form of his career in the previous season, to plug-in the youngster into this starting spot directly from the academy. Gordon had his ups and downs early in the season but righted the ship to finish with 9 league goals and most of his assists in the second half of the season. It'll be important for him to continue to develop his game as a distributor in this role.8/10
RS - Thierry Ambrose (74 OVR) - 18 apps, 17 goals, 4 assists: All the 21-year old from France did after arriving midseason from MCFC for €2.8 million was nearly score a goal/game. When taking into account his assists, Ambrose contributed to over a goal/game in his short time with the club in League 1. To be able to be tied for the 5th most goals in League 1 play after only playing in a third of the full season games is an amazing achievement. How he performs over a full season against better competition will undoubtedly be one of the most watched-for aspects of this club next season. 10/10
LS - Marcus Thuram (68 OVR)- 36 apps, 19 goals, 9 assists: The 20-year old from France seemed on his way to being the team's MVP this season before a collarbone injury sidelined him for the last three months. Thuram put any concerns about whether he would be able to be an effective starter to rest since the early going, finishing pre-season play with a rating of 7.0 and earning the same rating or better in the four competitions played during the season. All that being said, the inability to finish the season strong and continue to develop his game will once again create questions about whether he can be an effective starter next season against better defenses, but he has elite French blood in his veins and he's likely to be up for the challenge. 9/10
Bench
CDM - Cristiano Dall'Oglio (65 OVR) - 44 apps, 2 goals: The 18-year old academy-product from Italy, described as someone "showing great potential", more than double his number of appearances for the club after earning promotion from the youth squad midway through last season. However, his form dipped a bit from last season, most notably in COC games where he finished with a 3.7 rating in two games. It's way too early in the youngster's career to jump to conclusions, but perhaps he's feeling the pressure from his competition for the backup CDM role.6/10
RB - Mehmet Zeki Çelik (67 OVR) - 39 apps, 2 assists: The 21-year old from Turkey adapted well to his new backup role which is probably a better fit for him nowadays. Unfortunately for him he isn't progressing as quickly as some of the fullbacks coming out of the academy and may be in danger of dropping further down the picking order next season6.5/10
LM - Ben Potter (67 OVR) - 28 apps, 6 goals, 8 assists: The 18-year old academy-product from England (showing great potential) by all means had a very good first season as a pro. He constantly had good performances as an integral part of the B-squad which eventually made him the top choice to fill-in for any injured midfielders whether it was at RM, LM, or CAM. In theory Potter will eventually take over the RM role but so long as Giles continues to perform the way he has, Potter will will have to continue to find his niche in this super-sub role.7.5/10
LB - Nicolai Fernandes (70 OVR) - 28 apps, 2 assists: The 16-year old academy-product from Denmark showed coaches and teammates that while he lacks the pace Marccelino likes from his fullbacks he's still able to perform at a good level due to his skill-set in other areas. "An exciting prospect", Fernandes has played his way into being one of the first players coming off the bench for the squad, and he has cemented his spot as a starter for the B-squad. 6.5/10
CM - Hwang In Bein (72 OVR) - 19 apps, 2 goals, 1 assist: The 21-year old from Korea was a mid-season arrival after the departure of Konsta Salo, one of the highest-rated prospects for the club. It took In Beom a few games to get comfortable with his new teammates but once he settled in he netted a couple of scores and an assist. While he has yet to reach his ceiling we don't anticipate him taking Gordon's starting starting spot at any point in the future so he'll have to find his niche in this backup role.6/10
ST - Patrick Miller (66 OVR) - 19 apps, 7 goals, 2 assists: The Exiles righted a wrong this with the 19-year old academy-product from Ireland, recalling him from loan with Plymouth Argyle after realizing he wasn't receiving any minutes and recognizing he could be an asset with the B-squad. Although he isn't a highly rated prospect, he outplayed his much-talked-about counterpart out of the academy over the course of the season, which earned him a spot in the starting XI towards the end of the season after Thrum's injury. 7.5/10
ST - Kjetil Ringdal Støvland (64 OVR) - 19 apps, 5 goals, 3 assists: The 17-year old academy-product from Norway is by far the club's top striker prospect and is among the top overall prospects for the club (an exciting prospect). "RS", as he's often referred as, started the season in really good form but cooled off as the season went on. It'll be important for the club to continue to manage expectations with him at such a young age and therefore RS is likely to remain a mainstay in the B-squad lineup while he battles Miller to be the first striker option of the bench (assuming no strikers are acquired this summer). He could also become a loan candidate. 7/10
CDM - Hikaru Ichigawa (65 OVR) - 14 apps, 1 goal, 1 assist: The 17-year old academy-product from Japan was promoted from the youth squad midway through the season and received a good number of opportunities to compete for the backup CDM role vs Dall'Oglio. He's also "showing great potential" so this is a battle worth watching going into next season as each prospect tries to get the most playing time to develop in a way that will allow them to reach their full potential. 7/10
CB - Taylor Moore (67 OVR) - 13 apps: The 21-year old from England accepted a demotion to the bench and gave a good effort each time out with the B-squad. Assuming he continues to commit to provide depth at the position, Moore should be an asset to the team going forward. 6.5/10
LM - Devante Parker (67 OVR)- 13 apps, 1 goal, 4 assists: A special review goes out to the 22-year old German loanee from FSV Mainz 05 who remained ready when called upon with the B-squad and helped that unit perform well this season. That kind of performance this season earns high consideration when the team looks for players for a similar role next season.
The Academy
CAM - Daniele Martella (55 OVR, 79-94 POT)*: 17-year old from Italy who is very highly rated by our staff as well as outside sources. While he isn't as advanced in his development as other prospects in our club we're committed to working as much as needed with him to help him become a future part of our roster and hopefully reach his potential.
CDM - Doke Boëtius (58 OVR, 80-94): 16-year old from Netherlands who joins a crowded group of youngsters at CDM (Dall'Oglio, Ichigawa, Kagome). He'll need to be patient and work hard in the academy and he's been doing just that so far.
CAM - Andrea De Girolamo (62 OVR, 69-89)*: 17-year old from Italy whose potential isn't as high as his countryman's in the academy but who looks much closer to being ready to contribute to the roster in some way or form. Standing at 5'7", 145lbs, De Girolamo is a demon with the ball at his feet in the academy thanks to his combination of agility (75), dribbling (73), acceleration (71) and ball control (71).
RB - Willem Van Hout (46 OVR, 75-93): This 16-year old from Belgium is still very raw but exhibits very good potential and coaches in the academy are trying to make sure he remains focused on working on developing his game. Doesn't possess the pace the team would like at the position but Marccelino is keeping more of an open mind when it comes to that after watching Fernandes play.
* Recent addition
Other notes: A year ago during this review Gordon and Potter were mentioned as names to keep an eye on and they responded to the praise by performing well this season. With that in mind it's worth noting that David Fox (RM, 64 OVR, showing great potential) will make the club at least consider giving him the role Parker had this season while Gregorio Miranda (LB, 64 OVR, showing great potential) is close to giving Celik a run for his money as one of the club's main backup fullbacks. Taylor Nelson (LW, 64 OVR), the second academy-product promoted by Marccelino (Giles was the first) during his tenure at the club, will be returning to the club after a very successful two-year loan tenure at Crewe Alexandra and may give Fox a run for his money, while Hayato Matsuki (GK, 64 OVR) continues to develop quickly and may start getting consideration to become the B-squad's keeper. After all, 6'7", 196lbs goalkeepers don't come around every day. All players mentioned in this segment are Newport County academy graduates.
You may have noticed no player was voted as team MVP for the season. That's because we would like YOU to tell us who you think should receive the award. We look forward to your comments/suggestions.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
August 2016
Greuther Fürth 0 - 4 VfB Stuttgart
Werner 17', Ginczek 39', 90', Maxim 49'
We got off to a great start in our campaign to earn promotion back to the Bundesliga. All of our attacking gems did a fine job in attack, scoring a goal or two each. Hopefully this result is a start to a brilliant winning streak.
Eintracht Braunschweig 1 - 1 VfB Stuttgart
Boland 85'
Kostic 90'
And there our winning streak goes. We dropped two points and more importantly were losing for a while before Filip Kostic managed to equalise the game with seconds left on the clock. We managed to create several chances but the ball just didn't go in.
VfB Stuttgart 3 - 0 Hannover 96
Werner 19', 45', Flum 77'
Nothing boosts our confidence as well as a solid win and a clean sheet against last season's relegation buddies Hannover. Werner got a brace in the first half and Johannes Flum scored a brilliant debut goal with a long shot after a corner.
1860 München 0 - 0 VfB Stuttgart
Uuuughhh, we need to be more consistent. One week we hammer Hannover and the next we fail to score against 1860 München. We really need to work on our scoring and consistency.
Bundesliga 2. Table
1. VfB Stuttgart, 8 pts
2. Union Berlin, 7 pts
3. SV Sandhausen, 7 pts
4. Arminia Bielefeld, 7 pts
5. FC St. Pauli, 6 pts
6. Fortuna Düsseldorf, 6 pts
-----------------------------------------
16. MSV Duisburg, 4 pts
17. FSV Frankfurt, 3 pts
18. Eintracht Braunschweig, 3 pts
My Thoughts
Consistency - What does the word mean? Judging by our results we have no clue. I'm starting to sound like a broken record but we need to find consistency in our results.
Defence - Quite unbelievably, the worst defence of the Bundesliga last season has conceded only a single goal in four matches. I'm not sure how this happened because the defence really isn't that great.
Challenge? - I'm actually extremely happy that we don't win every game by a huge margin because it keeps me interested in the career and we need to do our best in every single game. Every team in the league can beat every other team and this is the case with us, too.
Thank you for reading this post! I hope you have enjoyed it! Any feedback or suggestions will be appreciated!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Aquaman Alnwick was really good for you in the tournament. Really tough to lose to Tours FC on penalties, but those can always go either way, and they did have the match on their home soil in France. You have a nice amount of budget to work with, so looking forward to what you do with that. Nice start to League One with the win over Millwall. I enjoyed your mailbag segment too, very cool.
Keano Bit of a tough stretch there with the 4 straight matches in all competitions without a win, but that was still a solid result against Derby County with the 0-0 draw. The table really is very tight. Holding off Notts County and Portsmouth won't be easy, but I think you can do it.
Simppu Stuttgart is a great choice! It does seem weird with them being relegated, but I'm confident you can earn promotion right back to the Bundesliga. Kostic is a really good player and should shine in the 2nd tier. Timo Werner also has a bright future. I like all of your moves in the transfer window as well. Gunter stepping right into the Starting XI should get him developing quickly. As for results, an expected position at top of the table despite dropping some points. Really handled Hannover.
Cruzerr 3rd place and tied on points with Manchester City and Chelsea, plus doing well in Europe accounted for a very solid month. Oh, and a Capital One Cup victory too. You really took control after the loss to Villa with that win over Legia Warsaw and handling Spurs.
Josh The Southampton game was insane. I would be thinking my sliders were messed up too, but what a turnaround, unfortunately for you. You absolutely crushed Palace in the Capital One Cup, and some good results against United and Arsenal. Serge Gnabry on loan is a good move.
texasbum A lot of updates, but jumping to the end, wow! What a finish in the Championship playoff getting that 86th minute equalizer from a penalty and winning in extra time. Beating both QPR and Middlesbrough is quite and accomplishment as both of those clubs are extremely solid. You really turned things on at the end to get into 6th, and took full advantage of your opportunity. Can't wait to see you in the Premier League!
vrabbit 57 appearances for Martinez is mind blowing, but with so many matches between the league play and cup, that's just life as you work your way up in England. As for team MVP, I'm going to have to go with Thuram, although I could see Ambrose winning as well.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
September 2016
VfB Stuttgart 3 - 3 FC Nürnberg
Maxim 19', Kostic 78', Werner 86'
Füllkrug 25', Hovland 89', Möhnwald 90'
There you go, Josh, that's how it's done properly. Two conceded goals in the last two minutes of the game :P
SC Paderborn 0 - 4 VfB Stuttgart
Zwolinski 22', 55', Parker 80', Ring 87'
Very good performances from Zwolinski, Parker and Ring who all got their first goals for the club. Additionally, this was the first game with Mitchell Langerak in goal instead of Tyton who disappointed in the last game.
VfB Stuttgart 2 - 0 Union Berlin
Die 43', Parker 83'
This season we conquered the red side of Berlin, next season it will be the blue side.
Karlsruher SC 1 - 3 VfB Stuttgart
Hoffer 22'
Maxim 44', Zwolinski 45', Gentner 77'
October 2016
VfB Stuttgart 0 - 0 1. FC Heidenheim
A very disappointing result but on the bright side, we kept a clean sheet.
FSV Frankfurt 2 - 0 VfB Stuttgart
Gugganig 23', Zimling 63'
Yup, we just lost to one of the worst teams in the league (who got relegated to the third tier in real life). Nothing went in our way and our defending was very bad. We will want to forget this game as soon as possible.
VfB Stuttgart 1 - 0 Arminia Bielefeld
Ginczek 89'
We managed to bounce back with a hard-fought win over top four side Arminia Bielefeld. Daniel Ginczek did well to curl the ball around the keeper in the last minutes of the game to secure the three points.
Round of 32
VfL Wolfsburg 1 - 3 VfB Stuttgart
Kruse 9' pen
Kostic 18', Ginczek 71', Werner 90'
This amazing result just proves that we absolutely deserve to play in the top division instead of wasting our time in the second league. The underperformers of last season Wolfsburg managed to take the lead very early on with a Max Kruse penalty but under ten minutes later Filip Kostic equalised from a counter attack. The game then remained tied until the 71st minute when Daniel Ginczek became our hero as he headed the ball into the back of the net from a corner kick. Wolfsburg then threw everyone up the pitch to equalise but Timo Werner and Lukasz Zwalinski managed to take advantage of this in stoppage time as the Polish striker shifted the ball across goal to Werner for an easy finish in stoppage time. Next up SV Darmstadt 98.
November 2016
VfL Bochum 1 - 2 VfB Stuttgart
Mlapa 55'
Günter 33', Caleta-Car 59'
Our centre-back pair of Koray Günter and Duje Caleta-Car rose unexpectedly into the spotlight in this game. Both of our goals came from corners.
VfB Stuttgart 5 - 1 MSV Duisburg
Pulisic 5', Die 19', Werner 38', Zwolinski 45' pen, Mittelstädt 90'
Hajri 90', Wolze s/o 71'
What a first-half performance from our team! Our teenage star Christian Pulisic scored his first goal for the club five minutes in and then the winger gem went to assist three goals. Maxi Mittelstädt also scored his first goal for the club as the young left back shot the ball into the top right corner of the net from outside the box.
FC Kaiserslautern 0 - 3 VfB Stuttgart
Zwolinski 48', Kostic 63', Werner 90'
VfB Stuttgart 6 - 0 Fortuna Düsseldorf
Pulisic 35', 52', 70', Zwolinski 45' pen, 75', Mukhtar 88'
Madlung 45' s/o
What an unbelievable game from the whole team and especially from Christian Pulisic! The young man, or should I say boy as he hasn't even reached legal voting age yet, destroyed the Düsseldorf defence and certainly became the youngest hattrick scorer in Bundesliga history (I can't confirm this as I couldn't find the particular statistics). Hany Mukhtar also scored his first for the team while Zwolinski netted his fourth goal in three games.
FC St. Pauli 1 - 3 VfB Stuttgart
Sobota 32' pen
Maxim 8', Ginczek 18', 28' pen
VfB Stuttgart 1 - 1 SV Sandhausen
Maxim 44'
Ilner 71'
Brilliant, we dropped two points against the second-bottom team. I guess every team has its poor days.
Round of 16
VfB Stuttgart 3 - 1 SV Darmstadt 98
Parker 17', 45', Zwolinski 87'
Vrancic 69'
Two games against top tier teams, two wins. Our out-of-favour striker Shawn Parker got to start the game and he disappoint as he netted a brace to decide the game in our favour. We will face 1. FC Köln next and I believe that we can beat them.
VfB Stuttgart 5 - 1 FSV Frankfurt
Maxim 8', 43', Werner 17', Zwolinski 31', Pulisic 83'
Zimling 39'
A very strong first half performance was enough to secure the three points before the winter break. Maxim's brace helped him climb up to second in the goal chart with Lukasz Zwolinski leading them. Pulisic also picked a goal late on.
Bundesliga 2. Table
1. VfB Stuttgart, 41 pts
2. Hannover 96, 34 pts
3. Arminia Bielefeld, 33 pts
4. VfL Bochum, 31 pts
5. FC St. Pauli, 25 pts
6. Union Berlin, 25 pts
------------------------------------------
16. FSV Frankfurt, 17 pts
17. SV Sandhausen, 16 pts
18. 1. FC Nürnberg, 13 pts
My Thoughts
Herbstmeister! - After the first half of the season, we are leading the league with a very comfortable seven-point lead and, honestly, judging by our recent performances, I can't see us dropping down in the table. Overall we have been in great form, although we have dropped a few points here and there when we should've taken all three. Hopefully we are able to improve this in the rückrunde, or the second half of the season.
Statistics - We are dominating the top positions of scoring and assisting charts. Lukasz Zwolinski is leading the race for the golden boot with actually quite a low amount of eight goals, while Alexandru Maxim and Timo Werner are tied in second with seven goals each. Assist-wise our boys are even closer to each other: Werner is leading with seven and Zwolinski, Maxim, and Pulisic are all on six right behind him. As far as clean sheets go, Mitchell Langerak is second in the league with seven.
Player Performances - As you can probably guess, all of the attacking players mentioned above have been great so far. Zwolinski, Werner, Maxim, and Pulisic are all terrorising defences and especially Pulisic has been very impressive. He has already grown by five (!) overall points and he is very close to breaking into the starting eleven.
The most disappointing area of the team has probably been the defence, usually consisting of Kevin Großkreutz, Koray Günter (who has grown to 71 ovr), Timo Baumgartl (now 70 ovr), and Maximilian Mittelstädt (68 ovr), although Duje Caleta-Car has been getting a lot of playing time lately instead of Baumgartl. Even though we have kept a good amount of clean sheets, we can't thank our defence for that. Most of the time they fail to mark their man properly and they tend to be out of position which leads to many scoring opportunities. Then again, the average age of our defence, excluding Großkreutz, is only 19.3 so I'm not too worried about them being prone to mistakes. This should be fixed with experience and age.
Transfer Window - I'm expecting a lot of offers to come in for Maxim, Werner and Kostic. I don't really want to sell any of them but we are in the second division and I will consider selling them if we receive big offers from good teams. I will do this just to make it a bit more realistic and interesting.
As far as signings go, I might try to sign a winger for the right side of midfield as right now that position belongs to Christian Gentner and Alexander Ring, both of whom are central midfielders. I will also try to find a good goalkeeper as both Tyton and Langerak have been underwhelming.
If we sell someone big and need to replace him, I will not go for big names as it would be unrealistic for a second-tier team to sign big players. Instead I'll go for players from the Bundesliga 2, players who are not getting a lot of playing time from the first division and players from the top tier bottom three. That way it won't be too unrealistic.
I know I have been pumping these updates out like a cow pumps out milk but now that school is over I have a lot of free time and I'm enjoying playing with Stuttgart. This fast-paced regime will slow down when the Euros start in a couple of days and it will be completely gone between the 15th and the 29th of June as I will be abroad for those two weeks.
Thank you for reading this post! I hope you have enjoyed it! Any feedback or suggestions will be appreciated!

Simppu: I know your pain! Heartbreaking to watch 2pts slip away like that in a matter of minutes. What a great start to the season. You are flying through these matches and dominating the lower league. Though the dropped points against the very bottom teams is a little concerning but it looks like you are building a big enough lead in the standings that it might not matter. Would you really think of selling Timo? What would be the price you would put on him? Also, really like the formatting to your updates, perhaps I will steal a few ideas??
Texasbum: Sad to see the FA cup run come to an end. Though making it that far is great for an experience point of view. What a playoff run! Wow those two games must have been exciting. Congratulations on the promotion! Does this mean there might be a big signing coming for the new Premier League season? Or will you try building with youth academy and younger talent?
Sportsfreak96: Nice to see you back with the updates! And in first place leading the two powerhouses. How is
Serge Gnabry working out for you? I just received him on loan in my Hull season and in 2 games I am really happy with his style.

I made some moves in the transfer window to continue to develop the squad into my style of play. I was really happy with the players I brought in and I should have the update for the transfer window up either tonight or tomorrow maybe. I won't say too much about it now
Oh and as far as your last update there, all I can say is Jurgen out! Now do us Americans proud.Comment

George Long
George Long was the man in form all season. He added the Golden Glove for the Championship into his personal trophy case while organizing the league's leading defense. He kept 25 clean sheets all year in 54 appearances, nearly averaging a clean sheet every other game. There is bound to be tons of interest in him this offseason after his performances this year, it will remain to be seen if the Blades will be able to hold on to their sensational young player in goal.
