Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Looking for some help, I have mainly played in the BPL and as other top teams in Europe. But I am trying to do a manager where I can take a solid team from an average league and make them European Champion. I have 2 teams in mind, FC Porto and FC Shakhtar. I want to base this on 3 aspects, kits, money, and existing squad. I like both sets of kits and the budgets are similar (Porto 26.5M Shakhtar 20M) and I also really like both squads. Obviously Porto is probably better all around but, Shakhtar has literally 5 or 6 CAMs under 22 yo that are 74 or better. So while Shakhtar may not be as good overall, they have valuable pieces to sell off for more overall cash. Plus another FC Shakhtar question would be what league do I place them in? I think it would be kind of cool to replicate what Jose Mourinho did at Benfica and do it w/ their biggest competitor in Portugal. Any feedback is appreciated.
I'm kinda doing the same thing with Marsellies in the French League. My teams: Cowboys, Knicks, Braves, Arsenal FC, Nittany Lions

When you know it's time to step up your difficulty.....
When you beat City and Chelsea 6-0 each and Giroud has 4 goals in the latter. Overall in 26 games played I have won 24 and drawn 2 with a goal difference of 66-7!! In the BPL we are 16-1-0 with a goal dif of 42-4 and Man U are in second place already 13 points back. Our 2 draws were to Zenit in the Champions league and Hull in the BPL (Lol)

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Welp, this is annoying. I'm now in my fifth season overall (the fourth with Club Brugge) and I can't get hired on at a new team, regardless of how good or bad they are.
I've won Manager of the Year twice in a row, have three league championships, three league cups, etc. I've been meeting or exceeding all expectations and yet I'm not getting any job offers.
If I apply to any clubs I just get shot down. I've looked online and it seems other people have had this same problem.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
This is just funny! My last 5 BPL Results are
6-0 W at Manchester City
1-0 W home to Everton
1-1 D home to Hull
6-0 W home to Chelsea
1-1 D at West Ham (in the snow I might add)
Any predictions for the next 3 fixture?!
away to Newcastle
home to Cardiff
away to Aston VillaComment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Well we are in a dip of form by our own standards
1-0 W away at Newcastle (played in snow)
4-0 W home to Cardiff (our 3rd straight game in the snow!!)
0-0 D away to Aston Villa.
So we are in the meat of our schedule and our next 3 games were FA cup 3rd round followed by our 2 leg capital one cup semifinal w/QPR. I was planning on sending out a strong squad for FA Cup home to West Brom to win and then playing professional for the capital one semi. But that all changed when we suffered our first defeat of the entire career mode!! we fell 2-0 to West Brom on a Nicolas Anelka brace! It was devastating to me as I was hoping to win the FA Cup, BPL, and Champions league but whatever. Now QPR get to feel my wrath in the next 2 games!Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

5. Derby County - 36 points
6. QPR - 35 points
Last 5 Results
Barnsley (H) W 2-1

Leicester City (A) L 2-3
Wigan Athletic (H) - W 3-1
Cup Progress - League Cup
2nd Round - Nottingham Forest - W 2-1
3rd Round - Chelsea - L 1-2
Summary: Been a roller coaster season, but one with great results. Initially, I hovered around 10th to 15th with a multitude of draws. I saved a few late losses with late goals and also gave up my fair share of goals with spotty defending in the second half. After the transfer window closed, we hit our stride. I'm running a 4-5-1 and have so many solid options in the midfield and they have collectively led the team. Craig Bryson and Will Hughes have been dominant in the midfield and Johnny Russell is fun to play with. Only made one move, brought in Jon Taylor from Shrewsbury for 1.2 million US. He progresses well and at age 21, the 65 overall RM speedster seemed a good value. I have a four point cushion over Watford in 7th right now, so I feel safe that we'll meet our goal (Acheive High Finish (7th - 10th))
Top Goal Scorers:
Johnny Russell - 8 goals, 5 assists
Craig Bryson - 8 goals
Jamie Ward - 6 goals
Will Hughes - 6 goalsComment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
It's been a while since my last post, had a break from the game after raging at it. So I pondered on a team to start a new CM that wasn't in England as my beloved villa Just doesn't work for me this year and with bayer 04 opting for 4-3-3 this year I can't get into a career with them so after playing a few season games I decided to go with hamburg sv as they are currently struggling irl so I thought I would turn them into a German powerhouse
2013-14
Hamburg sv
6 min halves world class Orion sliders
First transfer disabled
I set some rules for the transfer window so I don't go over board
. Only 5 players can be transferred each window
. 2 must be loans
. 3 players must be German or play in the bundesliga
. 1 world class player per season
The team has great depth as most players can play more then one position so I went with a 4-2-3-1 wide and after the first few game I needed to bring in a few replacements, I need another natural RM, RB and ST as only have 2 ST and one is on loan.
It's been a decent season so far struggle against the top 4, decent games with the mid table and destroying the lower teams only big upset was being knocked out of the cup by a league. 2 team after a freak goal in the 89th min ( long through ball came from half way, my keeper froze, ball rolled past and in the goal) apart from that scraped a 2-1 win over bayern where all 3 goals were scored in the last 10 min
Currently sitting in 6th 8 days before the window so I'll update after the transfers !Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Certainly Blackpool is a good one. QPR also comes to mind however they will likely have a high expectation for you to gain automatic promotion year 1.Comment

Thanks for that! I decided to go with Leicester City at the end. They too expect me to promote to Barclays Premier League right away.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
So I managed to cram in some gameplay today and got to the end of the transfer window but disappointed as I dropped 6 point with 2 losses
Depart
Westermann - £2,500,000 - Sunderland
Demirbay - loan- notts forest
Baumann ( youth) - loan - can't remember
Arrive
Yesil. - Liverpool - loan
Benzia. - Lyon - loan
Rode. - Frankfurt - pre contract
weiser - bayern. - £830,000
Bonaque - almeria - £120,000
With shortage of strikers I went in with two loans in yesil and Benzia as backup I've used Benzia before so I know what to expect but yesil I'm looking forward to see how he plays.
I looked at rode as he played well against me even stopping van der vart in his place and to snatch him on pre contact is a bonus
Weiser was my target for RM I went in with a loan plus future fee but bayern didn't want to know but to seat him for under a mil is a bargin
Bonaque was pretty much a panic buy as westermann left on deadline day so I went straight to the transfer list and he seemed decent
I'll update in a few games timeComment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Started a new CM with West Ham Utd. Wanted to change their style a bit and put some passing into the team. Looked to buy CMs but soon found out that Ravel, Nolan and Noble are more than enough for the team.
IN:
Zakaria Bakkali
Marcos Lopes
Adnan Januzaj (loan)
OUT:
Youngsters/old players who were deadweight
After 5 games in the PL, I'm pleased to have notched 3 wins. Carroll has been a beast at ST, scoring 3 goals and providing an assist. Jarvis and Downing have been thunder as well, with Bakkali and Januzaj provide technical prowess and creativity that the team just doesn't have. I've been relying on passing football, but when things aren't going well I just lump it up to Carroll and hope for the best. Needless to say, I have enjoyed this CM a lot since every game is tight.Comment
