Not a bad month putting aside the Sassuolo game which you simmed anyway.

The Bayern result looked a little difficult to take but the calibre of their team is sometimes just too much. Hope that you stay at the top and continue to fight off Roma for the top spot!

This month was great even if you take the Real Madrid game into account! It's nice to see you in 2nd and I'm looking forward to you pressing for the top spot if possible!

Kalou, Kalou and even more Kalou! Every time a read one of your update for Hertha Kalou's name would have to pop up sooner or later within it! Nice one for him getting the golden boot and nice one on getting the most clean sheets in the league with Kraft!

6th position is a solid part of the table to finish in by the way! Good luck for next season and i'm looking forward to seeing who you sign!

Firstly, i like the use of the screenshots that you've been doing! It adds a nice dimension to your updates!

It's nice to see that you're still at the top of the table despite the draw against Sporting Gijón and the loss against CD Tenerife. You did well to bounce back with the one-nil win against Recreativo after that loss though. The game against Lugo in the Copa Del Ray looked like a fun one to be involved with too.

Pedro's looking like one of you main men at the minute and was involved in many of your goals that month.

It's looking quite tight in that top section of the table but hoepfully you stay at the top and good luck for gaining promotion!

Your counter attacking style seems to be working!
Thanks! I hope that my new signings will be good enough to effectively rotate with my current squad. It looked promsing in the Chelsea game and I'm hoping that they keep performing well!

I was incredibly annoyed after the Chelsea goal but there was not much that I could have done to prevent it anyway and as you said, taking a point away at Stamford Bridge isn't too bad.

Just over half a million to keep us in the league... I was a little disapointed but hopefully at the end of the season i'll get a nice cash reward!

I'm very happy with my results so far! It was a little tough to accept the Chelsea game but we bounced back with some solid results. In my next updates I'll be sure to mention the upcoming games that i have.

Thanks! The league is definitely very tight, although I believe we have enough quality to get promoted. Malaga is next in the cup so lets hope we can sneak a result over the 2 legs!

Chico was the first one to do them! I just thought they'd be nice to do and I'm glad you like them. Pedro has been a really important player on the left for me! The whole team has been pretty good. The only areas I'm looking to strengthen are the CB and CDM positions. Both primarily due to age, 2 CBs are over 30 and 1 CDM is over 30, and considering I only have 2 CDMs with 1 of them on loan, a nice young potential player would be good to get in in the next window or 2.

Cuenca playeda ball over the top of the defense for Postiga to run on to inside the box. Postiga headed the ball down to the ground and then used his toe to poke the ball just inside the left side of the goal for the only goal on the night from either team.

            DEP - Medunjanin 28'
            VAL - Feghouli 41'

Medunjanin lined up a free kick from 35 yards out to the left side of the goal and fired it around the left side of the wall curving perfectly into the top left corner. Perez played the ball to Feghouli on the right side of the goal and he took a touch around Insua and blasted a shot inside the near post for the equalizer just a few minutes before half.

Victor flicked on a cross from Stuani into the middle of the box and it fell to Aduriz for the easy finish past the keeper to open the match. Cuenca sent a corner into the box that was deflected out to Riera who's shot went wide and into Costa. Costa was able to control and and turn and fire it past the keeper for the equalizer. Lopo lost a challenge inside the box leading to a series of passes from Espanyol that led to Aduriz getting an open look to complete his brace and regain the lead. Lopo then redeemed himself by getting his head on a Cuenca corner kick that looped over the keeper and settled under the crossbar in the top right corner.

Deportivo La Coruña Player of the Month

            Germán Lux

Germán Lux was on top of his game this month taking home man of the match honors in 2 of the 3 matches. His performance between the sticks also led to him being named the La Liga player of the month.

            Manager Comments

Look who's on top - We have climbed to the top of the table now, even with recording two draws this month. Our form is better than anyone could have imagined at this point and we need to focus on maintaining this right now.

Academy Update - We have added our first new prospect to the academy. Juan Guerra is an attacker that has yet to determine his final position, but could play on either wing or in the middle. He is the first piece of our new approach to building our future, and we will be watching his development closely.

Keeper in form - Germán Lux is in outstanding form right now, and even took home the La Liga player of the month for October. He currently leads the league in clean sheets with 4 and has still been impressive in those that he allowed some in. The defense is gaining confidence having him behind them and we are getting better each month as a result.

Fabio Borini: £3.6 million to Lazio

              Match 1

              Liverpool 0-0 Southampton
In a good game between two quality sides, neither team could find the back of the net. The first real opportunity of this game came to us, Forster producing a remarkable save with his foot to divert Sturridge's first time effort onto the post. Sterling had whipped the ball in low and Sturridge's effort went through the defenders legs but the unsighted Forster made a wonderful save. Sturridge then missed a good chance, flicking it past Bertrand before smashing into the side netting. Just after half time, substitute Lambert was brought down in the box by his former team mate Jose Fonte, but despite being stonewall and unbelievably obvious, the ref waved play on. Duricic hit the post for Southampton on the break after the bad decision and then it became an end to end battle of who has the best defence.

              Match 2

              Spurs 1-2 Liverpool
              Skrtel 14
              Kane 48
              Eriksen 90

The first good chance of the game came to Harry Kane against his former club. He beat 2 defenders for pace before Lloris made an excellent save to deny him the opener. However, minutes later Skrtel powered in his header from a corner at the near post. Lloris made another excellent save to deny Kane 10 minutes later before Eriksen struck the bar with a header and Soldado missed the rebound. Kane finally got his goal against his former club just after half time, and what a goal it was. A wonderful one two between Moreno and Gray left Gray running towards the byline. He whipped it across goal and Kane bundled his header in to cap off an excellent team move. Mignolet was forced into an excellent one handed save from a Soldado screamer just after the hour mark. Lloris made another great save a few minutes later, denying Gray what would have been an excellent solo goal, beating three defenders with skill before Lloris made an excellent save with his legs. Spurs got one back in stoppage time, Eriksen firing in beneath Mignolet after an unlucky rebound off the back of Sakho.

              Match 3

              Manchester City 2-1 Liverpool
              Nasri 38
              Dzeko 45
              Ibe 49

We had the first clear cut chance of the game, the ball played through to Lallana who smashed it wide when one on one with Hart. Minutes later, Nasri capped off a wonderful passing move, smashing into the top corner and Dzeko made it 2 soon after, smashing into the bottom corner. We pulled one back just after half time through substitute Ibe, prodding into the corner after great team move. We couldn't break down the defence after the goal and City held on for the win.

              Match 4

              Liverpool 1-0 Aston Villa
              Balotelli 24 (PEN)
We took the lead in this game from the penalty spot when Kane was nudged in the area and Balo stepped up to calmly place home. Balotelli got injured soon after, breaking his ankle and joining Lucas Leiva and Martin Skrtel on the side lines. Benteke fired over for Villa before Ibe forced a great save from distance. Sturridge rounded Guzan but took an extra touch and put it out for a goal kick and we couldn't make it 2.

              Manager Notes

Given a budget of £54.5 million at the start of the season, we spent just £10.4 million this transfer window. We made no marquee signings, but that doesn't mean we didn't try. There were attempts for Asier Illarramendi, Giovani dos Santos and Gonzalo Higuain, but none went through. I wanted to sign young players as well, and preferably English to keep a good home grown status. I cast my eyes to Spurs striker Harry Kane as my number one target. Young, strong, quick and a trademark poacher, he would fit in perfectly as a backup. Now he will be first choice next to Sturridge for 3 months till Balo gets back. Clyne was brought in for good reason. A quality right back in his mid 20's. Younger than Glen and on lower wages. I got rid of dead wood and bought in a wonderful full back. Bishop and Gray are gambles. Both young I bought them in initially and planned to loan them out, however Gray impressed me so much against Spurs I decided to keep him and Bishop had no takers. Hopefully my faith is repaid.

I would like to build my team around an English core of Sturridge, Henderson and Sterling with more British players around and then some flair filling the gaps. The defence will need improving next window.

Yea the League should be easy to win. Roma is definitely surprising me. I figured it would have been me and Inter at the top. Yea the B team got the Sassuolo game because it was only a day after that defeat at Allianz Arena. I am hoping when Bayern comes back to face me at home, I am hoping for a draw at least. I think I am only the 2 points back as the goal differential is te same for each of us at 2.

Yea Sassuolo I wasn't surprised at because I was playing my B squad because of a tight schedule. I had Bayern on Wednesday and then on Friday I had Sassuolo.

Yea I wasn't a loss to Bayern but man that is a great squad. I played the game to the best of my ability but Lewandowski killed for the 2 goals. Yea I simulated because I wanted to get more games in and that loss to Bayern really deflated my confidence.

Also the reason for simming was to finish the month because I am also running a career with Man U. And man my team is scary. I brought in Ronaldo and Thiago Silva. Also I got Xavi and Pirlo to rotate in the midfield. Also I got Aymeric Laporte. So I have been playing that career mode as well. Because my attack is deadly. I am running a 4-3-3, that looks like this:

                  Valdes (just sold De Gea)
                  from left to right:
                  Shaw-Laporte-Silva-Carvajal
                  Herrera-Pirlo/Xavi
                  Di Maria
                  Ronaldo-RVP-Rooney

My team is now deadly. The first was even better because I was running a front 3 of Ronaldo-Falcao-Rooney. And I was scoring in bunches with that team. But I figured RVP was capable of filling the hole of Falcao and he has. I also used a financial takeover to bring in Ronaldo as the Silva signing took up most of my budget. So I think I paid around 40-50MM plus Mata for Ronaldo. And I have never looked back.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Okay time to play some catch up.

Simppu - Hertha: Really strong performances down the stretch of the season to make up a lot of room from where you took over. A 6th place finish is impressive considering you didn't have much opportunity to make it your own team. This offseason will be huge for you since you will be able to start shaping it the way you want it.

Oxford United: September had some mixed results, but they were overall solid. The beat down you put on Wimbledon was something though Good job on leading the table.

Sportsfreak - Balotelli went absolute beast mode against City and what a match that must have been. Solid start to the season though. Liverpool are such an interesting team considering the talent they have combined with the young players in their squad. There is a lot of ways you can go with them though, and it will be interesting to see how you develop them, as well as what formation you choose to focus on.

BiloxiSmitty - Good signing with Pastore, shame you had to send out Enzo Perez, he is a player that I personally like. All English teams in friendlies which is interesting, but those were some tough teams to try to prepare for the season against haha. Good way to follow those up with the SuperCopa win over Barca on aggregate. You absolutely dominated them in that first leg.

Keano - You're performing really well with Zaragoza, and Borja Baston keeps scoring at will from what I can see. I was also happy to see some other players get in on the action and Pedro Sanchez win the POTM. 1 point clear at the top with a long way to go, but I think you should manage just fine this season and be in La Liga soon enough!

10cabee - Had some tough losses in March, but you held on to the top spot. It's a shame that you were knocked out to Arsenal in the quarter final of the F.A. Cup especially when they were down a man, but they are obviously a really talented team. Quite a few draws in April, but you more than held your own to finish on top of the league! Congratulations! Finally Exeter in the Premier League where my career crashed. Can't wait to see you take them to where I wasn't able to!

YOEL VAN NIEFF! Haha, I know me may not get much time with you now, but he is always a favorite of mine. A great FK specialist, and I would recommend playing him as your LDM. His secondary position is LB and he has some solid defensive stats, but when he gets forward he's got a powerful shot and can really hit them from distance and put them on goal.

ChicoBass - Fantastic finish to the season, and grabbing the 5th spot is something to be very proud of. So close to a Champions League spot too, but it's nice to have at least another season to build before getting into the CL. Looking forward to how you do with the added Europa League fixtures next season, your B team will be playing a bigger role for sure.

Jagger - What a variety of results in October. Some high scoring matches as well. You earned some good points in some of them, but gave some away in others. You just need to find the right style for your team and once you have that things will start rolling!

Redsox4evur - Juve on top of the table as expected, and you are just a point behind Bayern in your CL group as well. Roma is still hanging in there with you though, and I personally think it's more fun when you have someone you can kind of rival with for that top spot throughout the season. Hopefully there is enough drama to keep you motivated and you come out on top at the end of the season!

Jamiec47 - Liverpool is back for you! I love when you do this since you have a passion for the team. Clyne and Kane are great signings, and you didn't have to send out much the other way so you conducted some very good business in this window. Mixed start to league play though, but you had some tough opponents with City and Southampton. A solid win over Spurs though.

Moose - Nice win over Arsenal and it was well deserved! The Liverpool match was rough with the injuries you picked up, especially Ox being out for 3 weeks now. Dybala was really coming into form for you too, but he shouldn't miss much time. Still, there's some big matches coming up and it would have been nice to have all of your players available and rested.

I'll say this much: "Im not doing what I did with Monaco. Im going to do more with my pipeline this time around and I will be doing writeups similar to the ones I did with Monaco in the transfer windows as well as use the interview concept like I did with Betis before I saved over the file. I've got big plans for this CM and I hope you guys will enjoy it

I think they will be right there with me. I think it is going to come down to the next time we meet. I also think that Inter will make a charge and try to climb there way to the top. I will be motivated to keep playing it as is but my Man U career is also so much fun for me to play with though because of my attack presence. My front 3 is Ronaldo, RVP, Rooney. And behind them Di Maria, Pirlo/Xavi and Herrera. So that team is scary.
I am considering posting that one in here is as well. Just because I am having a lot of fun playing with that team. If yall want to me post that career I will as well. And I start from the next month I start.

                            MOTM: Postiga

Postiga opened the scoring after Medunjanin played him through on the left side of the goal and he finished to the left side of the keeper. Rodgriguez found Pedro Leon in a gap in the defense and he was able to tee it up and finish to the bottom right corner. Fariña attacked the left side of the box and sent a low cross in that found Postiga for the tap in from in front of goal. Castro played a great give and go with Oscar to get through on the right side of goal and chipped the keeper as he dove at his feet and saw it go off the crossbar and in for the equalizer. Luisinho found Perez at the edge of the box and he attacked to the right before finishing across the goal to the bottom left corner. Cavaleiro sealed the win after dribbling from the right side of the box to the middle and firing it past the keeper into the bottom left corner.

                            Cordoba CF 2 - RC Deportivo 0

                            MOTM: Rossi

Ghilas opened the scoring when he received the ball off a run between the two center backs and fired a well placed shot into the top right corner. Borja found Fidel free on the left side of goal and be blasted a strong shot past the keeper on the near post to double the lead.

                            RC Deportivo 2 - Real Sociedad 0

                            MOTM: Postiga

Fariña used some great skill to beat his man down the left wing and send a cross into the box that found Postiga for a strong header into the right side of the goal. Perez lined up a corner and sent it into the box picking out Postiga for the header to the far post to secure a brace and double the lead.

                            Atletico Madrid 0 - RC Deportivo 0
                            MOTM: Moya

Atletico had a slight advantage in the the possession battle with 52%, but their accuracy in front of goal left something to be desired only putting 3 shots on target to Deportivo's 6. Postiga registered some good chances, putting 2 on goal, and having another ruled offside, but ultimately nothing was getting through Moya in goal for Atletico.

                            Hélder Postiga

Hélder Postiga was in top form this month bagging two braces for a total of 4 goals. He was a disruptive force up front for the opposing back lines and really proved why he continues to his name in the starting XI week after week.

                            Manager Comments

Midfield Crisis - Another midfielder has gone down with an injury as Alex Bergantiños suffered a sprained ankle and will miss 2-3 weeks. This leaves both him and Juan Dominguez out of the selection. We still have some quality options, but those two were certainly big pieces to our strategy.

Academy Update - We have added another prospect to our academy. 16 year old Rafael Ansaldi is a true enigma on the pitch and can play just about anywhere. He seems to be a very physical player and should settle most likely into the center midfield, or as a central defender.

League Form - Even though we have began trailing off a tiny bit, we are still in second and winning more matches than we are losing. I am happy with the performances so far. Taking a point from Atletico in Madrid is huge, and no easy feat by any means. Our confidence is high, and we need to keep it going.

Copa Del Rey - Copa Del Rey starts next month with both legs against Levante coming up. Our form right now is ideal heading into this, but anything can happen, especially over a 2 leg competition. We want a good cup run, so this will be a priority.

Yeah, the injury bug has really started to bite us hard after getting through the first 70% of the season unscathed, we've now seen Cresswell, Jenkinson, Tomkins, Nkoulou, Dybala, and the Ox pick up injuries in about the span of a month. Thankfully they weren't all terribly serious so hopefully we can power through we the depth that we have to stay at least in the top 4.

Tex - I was gonna compliment you on drawing with Atletico and having a solid month on the back of Postiga doing fantastically for you, but it seems the Atletico match was more of points dropped based on your place in the table! Hopefully you can keep up the form, as this is definitely what you expected to be achieving I'm sure, but you can definitely relax about any relegation fight.

Simppu - You always seem most comfortable at Hertha, so I'm expecting good things from this career. 6th is a fantastic finish for you, as your boy Kalou was a monster and stole the season. I see in your recap you said he's starting to decline, so do you have any plans for a backup/replacement striker?

Jamie - Good to see Liverpool back, as your first Liverpool career is really the one I associate you the most with. Some smart buys as well, with Clyne becoming a definite upgrade and Kane a lethal finisher (if he carries over his form to FIFA). I'm surprised that you loaned Can out, what is your plan with him?

Keano - Looks like you should be on your way up to La Liga at the first time of asking, though the table is very tight all the way down to 8th or so. Your defense has really been rock solid, and I'm gonna have to keep reading to learn about a lot of the players you come into contact with/use in the Liga Adelante.

10cabee - Great work, you've done fantastically and really rose through the ranks to get to the Prem. It should really be interesting to see how you do, and hopefully you aren't saddle too much by a tough board and can just stay up this season in order to strengthen the team before making a real run for Europe. BTW that was an absolutely BRUTAL budget to have to work with!

Hopefully you can keep up the form, as this is definitely what you expected to be achieving I'm sure, but you can definitely relax about any relegation fight.
Haha, I really have no idea how I am up in 2nd right now. Although my schedule has been generous so far for the most part. I've been playing against mostly the bottom half of the table. The only real challenges so far were Real and Atletico and I was able to take 1 point between the two combined. 2nd half of the season should turn into a grind I would think. Finishing so high would kind of ruin my 5 year plan to build this team slowly. So, while I won't be throwing any of the matches, I wouldn't be too upset if I started losing some either. If the form continues then so be it I suppose, I'd just rather have the chance to start developing some of my youth first before I am competing at the top like that.
