Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

I decided to put my Bayern career on the back burner for the moment and launch a PSV career after all the talk about the Eredivisie.

Playing 10 minute halves, world class Gonira sliders.

I'm in mid January right now. I'm currently top of the table, with 47 points after 19 games. I had a rocky start with a few draws and multiple injuries (Zoet and Locadia both are out until February, have been since September) to deal with, although I feel I've overcome quite well.

I am feeling a real lack of height in the midfield. I signed Januzaj for 3 mil (cheated Man United imo lol), looking at bringing in Mero (sp?... Bor. M'gladbach) who is a 58 rated CB, but I've always seen him grow to the high 80's. I'm also in a deal at the moment with PSG for Bruma. I play on selling Jozefzoon and Depay, probably Narsingh too. I don't play them much and I already have plenty of short players.... My goal for the summer is to grab a great keeper.

I finished 2nd in my Champion's League group, so I have already met that objective.

Will post more later! Really enjoying this so far.

So my final question for CM freaks like me, is there a MLS team that meets my requirements, if not, can you list other clubs that do meet requirements of mine?

Also, I play professional-6 minutes and it seems fine to play with for me on Xbox 360.

I will continue to update the forum once i've selected a team with some help from my fellow CM-ers!
Take your MLS team of choice and switch them into one of the lower Euro leagues, like England's championship or the Bundesliga 2.

MLS careers are kinda limiting imo.

They don't have a HUGE budget (20 million sterling I think), but they have a decent team to work with that has all sorts of young players (Meyer, Draxler, Fahrmann) to develop. Its a good league too, with competition from Bayern and BVB Dortmund. You also get Champions/Europa League play if you qualify. In my Bundesliga careers, I usually see them finish anywhere from 2nd down to 8th.

You could also go with Manchester United…. lol they probably won't win any trophies IRL, so the game might be fun. They have a decent budget too.
I know theyre limited but I like balanced play from clubs, theres no OP teams, no messi, ronaldo, etc... But ive played in bundesliga as Bayer 04 and some great times but it seems to easy. Ive tried such challenges as playing in the swedish league it was terrible but I understand what your saying, ive done Man United and fixed that situation already lol I want speed also, thats the biggest thing for how I play. But I might give the Bundesliga another shot

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

In my 2nd year at Everton I signed a 17 year old LW from Japan that i have been scouting since year one. I got him a little early, only a 62 OVR with a max potential at 89, but I wanted to get him some time on the pitch and....

THIS KID HAS A STRAIGHT UP ORANGE MOP TOP HAIRCUT.

He looks so Japanese it isn't even funny. So awesome.

He is fast as hell, but still has major trouble finishing...a work in progress indeed, but I will always know where he is on the pitch with that hair.

Things like this make scouting and career mode worthwhile for me.

If it becomes too easy, bump up the difficulty. I usually do that until I get to the point where I beat the teams I'm supposed to, and lose to teams that are a bit better than me. If you're Bayer 04, that is one of the better Bundesliga sides. The "good" ones are Bayern, BVB, Schalke, and Bayer 04. Although Wolfsburg threaten occasionally. A good mid table team would be Stuttgart (capable of finishing in a CL spot, but usually finishes 5-8 for me). Bor. M'gladbach is decent. Hamburg is a decent side too. Idk about their budget, but they are struggling badly IRL, so it might be fun.

In regards to playing with/against the best players in the world, I find that rather rewarding. When you manage to sneak a draw at Camp Nou or the Bernabau while you are a lowly mid table team, it always feels satisfying knowing you held level with one of the best teams.

I also tend to impose some rules on myself so that the career doesn't move as fast. The ones in my Bayern career are rather simple:

            1. I must have at least 2 youth academy players promoted to the team for every player over 80 that I want to sign. (Keeps it so the rosters don't get too stacked with world beaters, and I can have a steady influx of homegrown talent)

            2. Bosman transfers can only happen if it is IRL (Lewandowski to Bayern), or if the player is under 85.

            3. If I need to bring in a new player, I must search the Bundesliga for a player first. If I can't find a suitable replacement, I will search other leagues. The only exception to this rule would be bringing in a German player from a foreign league back to Germany. (ex: buying Ozil for my Bayern career)

            4. Keep realistic profit margins. Just because I have 100 million to spend, doesn't mean I will. (wish the game had some sort of upgrading system you could purchase better facilities, etc). I think my record transfer in for Bayern career through 4 seasons has been 12 million? (draxler). I am averaging about 105 mil/450k a week.

Slow down the career and it lasts longer. I know it doesn't play as fast, but it'll become more enjoyable when you actually set rules to intentionally slow it down. I usually only play the big games for the league and all CL matches.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Just beat the Spurs in the Cap1Cup, Season 3, Quarter Finals, 120 Min.

Spurs hit first with a Soldado goal in the 32' minute.

The Ox had asked to be played for this big game, and with some good games off the bench I couldn't tell him no. In the 61st minute he went down with a sprained knee. Hello, Giroud. In this match I had started Draxler at the ST for some experimenting before the transfer window. Draxler moved back to LM with Girouds entry.

In the 73rd minute, Giroud connected with Draxler who split two defenders then beat a third in the box for the equalizer.

OT came and the Team Captin, Ozül, who is playing lights out (21 Goals, 11 Assists, 22 appearances across all tables) connected with Pogba for the lead.

Switched to a defensive base with possession tactic and buckled down for the win.

I sit on on top of the table with a diminishing four point lead over Chelsea and ManU. I blew taking that leap ahead with a tie in Stoke.

I have Hull (H), Bordeaux (A, Champions Cup Group Stage), ( Chelsea (A), Everton (H), Liverpool (A) before January transfer window opens.

              Possible Out Players:
              Gnarby 73(+2) RW
              Sanogo 71 (+1) ST
              Afobe 67 ST
              Coquelin 76 (+2) LM
              Chalobah 74 CDM
              Dongou 67 (+2) ST

Nothing against these guys but I can't seem to find playing time for them. Dongou has 16 appearances, 6 goals and 7 assists and I can't get him higher than "content". Coulibaly has only 2 appearances but I enjoy using I'm more. His morale has been high so I haven't really used him as he was a "next year project purchase".

Gnarby hasn't been good for me and Coquelin has Wellington Silva, Walcott, Draxler, and the Ox in front of him. Tough players to break past when they've all solidified their playing roles.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

My first post on this forum! Hello people!

So my first career mode was with Man City, and I won everything on professional haha. So I decided to give myself a new challenge, and I decided to play as Brighton on World Class!

With my Brighton CM, I decided to apply one of the financial investors, but I hate how it is only there for one season and doesn't come back ever!

I revamped the team with a mix of purchased players and loaned players and finished 1st in the Championship, won the Capitol One Cup, and made it to the round of 16 in the FA Cup and lost on a cheap goal by Chelsea.

At the start of my second season, my squad currently looks like this:

                (1)4-2-3-1
GK: Jack Butland (73, age 21)
RB: Deandre Yedlin (69, age 20)
CB: Mateo Musacchio (79, age 23, free summer transfer)
CB: Joleon Lescott (80, age 32)
LB: Jack Colback (75, age 24)
CDM: Rohan Ince (69, age 21, on club before I took over)
CDM: Sébastien Tauil (68, age 17, Youth Squad)
RM: Zakaria Bakkali (77, age 18)
LM: Kazenga LuaLua (72, age 23, on club before I took over)
CAM: Angel Correa (75, age 19)
ST: Yassine Benzia (71, age 19)

                Key bench/reserve players include:
Raphael Guerreiro, LB (68, age 20)
Marcos Lopes, CAM (67, age 18)
Ryan Gauld, CAM (67, age 18)
Leonardo Ulloa, ST (73, age 28)
Nathan Aké, CB (67, age 19)
Solomon March, RW (67, age 20)

As you can see, I've basically changed the entire squad save for a few players, and I'm now looking to pick up some young central midfielders, a third striker, and possibly a young CB I can develop, and I'm mainly going to focus on my youth squad to get new players b/c the financial takeover only lasted for a single season.

Just wanted to share with everyone and get peoples opinions!

How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Ok guys need some help deciding my next destination. This is a player career mode and I play goalkeeper. Im in year 2020 and my guy is now 25 and rated a 84(I would be a little higher if I could manage to beat out Courtious and Chelsea for clean sheets and GK of the year but it's been impossible) For the last 5 seasons I've played for my favorite team Arsenal in a league I know a good amount about. We've won 3 out of 5 titles, 1 champions league and a few tourney trophies along the way. I started on the redbull and was loaned out to Atalanta for half a season before I landed on my favorite team.

Now here's the thing, I've been wanting to play for either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich (the big boys) and win Champions Cup after Champions Cup but I'm not to sure about leaving Arsenal. I made two game saves in the off season just to test out where I would go if I were to request a transfer. Low and behold I end up on Bayern Munich.

Should I stay or should I go? Spend a few years in the Bundesliga and then return to Arsenal(hopefully) in the future or be an EPL and Arsenal lifer?

I say go for Bayern! You've already done a lot at Arsenal by winning basically everything, go test yourself out in Germany! And if it doesn't work out, find a way back to Arsenal or at worst another top team!

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

somehow my PSV career got corrupted, so I had to disband it. A bit unfortunate.

So now i'm back on my Bayern career.

I believe my last post, I left off in 2017-18. I won all three trophies (again).

It is now August in my career. After a bit of a contract dispute with Lewandowski (he decided he was leaving, then changed his mind mid-march), I had to go to the market to sign a decent striker as a replacement. Lewa is the best striker in the game for my style of play (quick counter, looking for crosses into the middle for a target man), but the next best was Bony, who was on BVB and was available for a Bosman. I snatched him up, then Lewa wanted to stay. So I now have two strikers who fit my gameplan. I plan on selling Bony to someone as he will get almost no playing time (if Lewa is out, I run a 4-3-3 false 9, with Gotze playing the CF).

Joel Mero, previously on Bor. M'Gladbach was a free agent at the end of the season. He was 22 and 86 overall. I've seen a lot of people report that he regularly goes over his 78 or so potential as listed on SoFIFA. i signed him to give a bit more depth to the back 4, which now consists of Boateng, Badstuber, Mero, and Alaba (Avevor and Kirchoff rotate in).

I also have a number of youth prospects who are progressing at a much faster rate than I anticipated. My most promising one is Matthias Miller, a 20 year old German CDM. He is already 79 and on the cusp of breaking into the first team starting role. I also have a German CB, Christian Fuhry (18 y.o, 67 ovr) who has grown 3 points since signing him 2 months ago.

I have 3 youth GK's who are all vying to take Neuer's spot. Manuel has oddly GROWN up to 91 as a 32 year old. Very strange indeed.

Ribery contemplated retiring last season (he never did) and now again this season. Robben also is retiring. I'm hoping both retire for sure after this season, as they are both on 240k/week and essentially do nothing. However, I can't bring myself to sell them as they are heroes to the fans, and are player's from the start of the golden age of Bayern.

Thats all for now guys. I'll update again in January!

                        MIA SAN MIA!

Appreciate the input, I literally sat on this decision for a day. In the end I decided to go with Bayern. You're absolutely right, time to try new things and conquer new leagues. Off to a good start with 2 clean sheets in the first 2 games. The teams defense is like a fort and they are amazing when it comes to cleaning up my rebounds.

Gervinho is now 20 rated. All of his stats except for reactions are less than or equal to 6. In the player viewer, he has an exclamation point in a red circle next to his name. Anyone know this glitch, or what's happening here?

Just wanted to mark this as the day the acquisition of Kendrick Perkins sparked a debate about stacking your team.

Took my worst defeat in 3 Seasons vs Chelsea.
                                3-8.

An early red card and two penalty kicks. I had no answer. I wanted to forfeit by the half but didn't want to cheat Chelsea of their beat down.

Really wish FIFA would implement sim to end of game, and a mid game save file.
