How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

    Wolves Career Update

    Finally out of transfer window!

Managed to sell Moli for 50k and another one for 50k can't remember who to allow for swap deals

Completed the Brandt swap, Souttar swap and the Madrigali swap deals and now I have a solid defence for the future

Also managed to pick up Camdal and Azogue from the free agents list

Couldn't sell Ikeme or Stearman which is unfortunate could've use the wages and funds for players like Jon Flanagan and Simone Scuffet

Still have 300k and 3k wages left and will probably start saving up to afford some of the pre-contracts I set, will hopefully get one or two if I sell some players in January that aren't being used

Also I have a lot of LM's. I have Josh Murphy, Julian Brandt, Michael Jacobs(who I play as RM), Fabrice Olinga, Ibrahima Mbaye and Anthony Forde

Mbaye and Olinga are on loan and adde for depth(seems I have too much) and both has a future fee of 2,000,000

Will try and sign Mbaye because I mostly use him as a backup left back for Gatagov (there are heaps of games in League 1)

Anthony Forde will be sold in January if possible

    Final dealings of transfer window:

    In:

    Richard Sánchez
    Héctor Bellerín
    Liam Moore
    Jamaal Lascelles
    Soslan Gatagov
    Julian Brandt
    Ryan Gauld
    Paulo Dybala
    Mamadou Tounkara
    John Souttar
    Jacob Murphy
    Pedro Azogue
    Valentino Lazaro
    Tank Camdal
    Saverio Madrigali
    Josh Murphy

    Loaned In:

    Fabrice Olinga
    Breel Donald Embolo
    Ibrahima Mbaye
    Islam Feruz

    Out:

    O'Hara
    Elokobi
    Dicko
    Henry
    Sako
    Batth
    Clarke
    Doherty
    Davis
    Flatt
    Moli
    McAlinden
    Edwards
    Berra

    Loaned Out:

    Ricketts

As you can see I completely transformed Wolves and set it up for the future

    Catch ya next time

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Hey guys, need a bit of help. I'm not able to get into any of my careers. Discontinued Marseille before trying out Chelsea and Ajax, but I can't seem to get into either.

A group of superstars (Chelsea) isn't my cup of tea right now, nor do I want a ready-made team assembled for me (Ajax). I want to build my own team from a mixture of players already at the club, my own recruits and youth talent.

One way to do this is with a lower-tier club and work my way up, like I did with Nottingham Forest but less quickly considering I won't have £40 million to help me on my way.

Alternatively, I could pick a club with players whose sales could finance what I want to do, or one with the kind of budget that would let me do it right away (£12-15 million).

      Ideas/suggestions?

Manchester United is a team I've found to be great to work on. They have a few solid players in Rooney, RVP, Juan Mata, but there's a lot of room for improvement. I've just finished the first season and I'm in love. I've bought the likes of Ward-Prowse, Luke Shaw, ter Stegen, William Carvalho, and Bakkali (to name a few).

You have a transfer budget that may not be on the level of PSG, but you have enough to make several promising signings. You also have enough funds to higher several scouts and run a strong youth academy. Revitalizing a team can be one of the most ridiculously fun things on CM.

If you're looking for something more challenging and in a lower tier, QPR in the Championship already has good quality and the transfer budget is somewhere in the region of $8 million if I remember correctly. They're a club that's really fun to fight for promotion and build a higher profile with.

In the BPL Southampton is a joy to manage. They have a decent budget with some really good youngsters to build around. If you sell your older players you will have a nice amount of money to work with. Depending on the difficulty you play on you shouldn't win the BPL with the team for 2-3 seasons

Fulham is also very fun if you look to stay in the BPL. They have an older team that needs to be transformed into a team for the future. They aren't doing well IRL and should be challenging to turn around in game

If you want to leave theBPL try out Sevilla. Not considered title contenders but a very decent team they need a turnaround after just selling some of their stars in Jesus Navas, Negredo and Kondogbia

They have decent kits and a classic kit as well which is cool

This might sound weird but AS Monaco is actually quite enjoyable. A very good budget but not a very good team(excluding 2-3 players). It definitely needs a lot of improvement but personally I heavily dislike the kits so I grew out of the career mode

At the moment I am doing a Wolves RTG and really enjoying myself. It's a challenge working with limited funds but I enjoy a good challenge.

If you want to look in Germany try out Schalke. They have some excellent youngsters to build around but it will be a real challenge overthrowing Bayern and Dortmund for the title

Italy's Lazio has a respectable budget and some youngsters with good potentials over 80(Antic, Crecco etc)
          That would be enjoyable

If you don't like any of those try something different like putting Galatasaray and Shakhtar in the Championship and using one of them

I really enjoyed making an in-depth super league type career mode. I put the best 20 teams in the games IMO in the BPL, the next 24 best teams in the chamionship , the next 24 in the football league 1 and the same for league 2. This way if a team gets relegated/promoted after a season the super league idea isn't lost. Usually I choose a league 2 team then because they will still be 3-3 and a half stars with a decent budget and good youngsters and bring them through the super leagues to the BPL. I really enjoyed this type of career mode.

That is how I enjoyed my career mode this year hope that helps you out!!!

Pretty close to what I did 2nd season. Dee Gee was home sick and when Dortmund made an offer I got ter Stegen, picked up Shaw, Daniel Agger, Juan Jesus. as I let Vidic walk. Nani (who I like) wanted out then changed his mind but I still transferred him accepting Spurs offer and got them to pay 19 Million. Then picked up Nacer Chadli from Spurs for 9 million and a 56 Defender. Picked up Kristic and Oiler just for fill-ins. Cleverly turned down his transfer contract. I rotate everyone making sure I keep RVP, Rooney, Walbeck, and Hernandez (Chicharito), Valencia, and Maata the most active and at least some playing time. Jones, Evans and Evra complain if they miss more than 2 games. Rooney is getting banged up. If I take him out with playable injury he's back for the next game. If he plays with the injury he's out 4-7 days. 17 games in and in 5th place 4pts out of first. 8W 7D 3L. I keep rotating with Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, New Castle, Man City, and Liverpool. 1st to 12th is bunched Lost 6-2 to QPR Lingaard had a meltdown with a 4.5 rating as I had no sub GK on bench. This years version on PS3 is a blast.

Realistically for next year Chicharito, Evra, Young, Fletcher, Cleverly, Vidic, Nani, Kagawa are more likely gone as Giggs and Ferdinand are retiring, Jones and Buttner are gone if Moyes stays. Good team to be creative with and rebuild a career with.
Steelers, Penguins, Penn State, Pirates, Red Sox, Manchester United.

I did a man Utd career as well

Sold Rooney for 65 million to Bayern
              Swapped RVP for Reus
Bought Gundogan, Pogba, Moreno, Shaw, Garay, Mangala, Kaya, Callum Chambers, Begovic swapped for Lindegaard, Muriel, Benzema

              Completely transformed them

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Manchester United is quite out of the question for a Chelsea supporter who can't separate his IRL club rivalries from the game.

I would say that one good CB and one good striker would complete Southampton, and that's not what I want. There are too many players to sell to make my own team.

Fulham is a decent option, though. Good players like Kacaniklic, Kasami and Mitroglou to sell or to build around, plus a good budget to start with. I've also been toying with a couple of other English sides. Leicester City and Wigan have good squads and budgets for the Championship, and Sunderland and Stoke both have the funds to assemble a really good team.

Outside England, I'm looking at: Schalke, Stade Rennais, Milan, Stuttgart, Real Sociedad, and a few others. Keep your ideas coming!

How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

I am thinking of starting a super league career mode to rotate with my Wolves one

Will play 5 games on one then 5 games on the other to keep it fresh and not so repetitive.

I will use the BPL, Chamiponship, League 1 and League 2 to put new teams in. (Best in BPL, then championship etc...)

These are the teams I am thinking of putting in:

                  BPL

                  FC Bayern
                  Real Madrid
                  Chelsea
                  Atletico Madrid
                  FC Barcelona
                  Paris Saint-Germain
                  Manchester City
                  Borussia Dortmund
                  Manchester United
                  FC Schalke
                  Liverpool
                  Juventus
                  AS Roma
                  AS Monaco
                  Arsenal
                  Everton
                  Galatasaray
                  Bayer Leverkusen
                  Olympiakos
                  Zenit

(Everyone who made it out of Champions League group stages and 4 teams who are doing well in their leagues)

                  Championship

                  Shakhtar Donetsk
                  Real Sociedad
                  FC Copenhagen
                  SL Benfica
                  RSC Anderlecht
                  Viktoria Plzen
                  CSKA Moskva
                  FC Basel
                  Napoli
                  Marseille
                  FC Porto
                  FK Austria Wien
                  Ajax
                  Celtic
                  Tottenham
                  Fiorentina
                  Milan
                  Lazio
                  Inter
                  Wolfsburg
                  Valencia
                  Swansea
                  Malaga
                  Athletic Bilbao

(Champs league teams that didn't make it through and the rest is according to ranking(sofifa) and the rest will be like that as well)

                  League 1

                  Sevilla
                  Dinamo Moskva
                  Newcastle United
                  Spartak Moskva
                  Lokomotiv Moskva
                  Eintracht Frankfurt
                  AS Saint-Etienne
                  Cruzeiro
                  Hannover 96
                  Sporting CP
                  Olympique Lyon
                  LOSC Lille
                  Udinese
                  Parma
                  Stuttgart
                  Hamburger SV
                  Borussia M'gladbach
                  Southampton
                  Stoke City
                  Fulham
                  Genoa
                  Hoffenheim
                  Getafe
                  Levante

                  League 2

                  Norwich City
                  Atletico Mineiro
                  São Paulo
                  Real Betis
                  PSV
                  West Bromwich Albion
                  Sunderland
                  Stade Rennais
                  Montpellier
                  Torino
                  Atalanta
                  West Ham
                  Aston Villa
                  QPR
                  Granada
                  Newell's Old Boys
                  SC Braga
                  Boca Juniors
                  Cagliari
                  Sampdoria
                  PAOK
                  Palmeiras
                  Villareal
                  Corinthians

Now I want advice on who to use...

If BPL I am thinking FC Bayern, Chelsea or Atletico

If Championship I am thinking FC Shakhtar, SL Benfica or FC Porto

If League 1 I am thinking Southampton, Stuttgart or Sevilla

If League 2 I am thinking PSV, Stade Rennais or Villareal

                  (Yes I think a lot )

Champions League will be ruined but the league will be intense, the FA cup and Capital One Cup will be crazy as well

Good enough teams missed out that the Champions league will be slightly competitive at stages

Can you guys leave a team suggestions choosing from one of the three teams I chose from each league and then choose the one from those 4 you would use and tell me... Would be really helpful thanks!

Went with Hamburger SV as it ticks all the boxes: historic side, big city, real stadium, promising talent and a superstar (Rafael van der Vaart). Should win the Bundesliga in my third or fourth season.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

After two days of hardcore thinking, I finally decided to start a career mode with Valencia CF. Why, you may ask? Well, first I started with Southampton, but I didn't have "The Career Mode Feeling" in that one, if you know what I mean. So I stopped it after one in-game week. Then I thought about doing a RTG with Rangers, but I didn't want to, because their players are so bad in the game. And again, I didn't get that "Career Mode Feeling". After that I thought about Chelsea, Everton, Fulham and Liverpool but I didn't feel like doing a career with any of them. At that point I thought about Valencia's comeback against Basel and at Sofifa Valencia's Paco Alcacer is at the top. Also, my dad loves Valencia. I liked the idea. Valencia do have history and their team is good but it isn't ready to conquer Spain and Europe. Also they have a lot of potential and many loned players. And Valencia's budget is good.

So I chose Valencia and I used all but 5 million of my bugdet to recall good players or players for backup, for example Banega, Pabon and Guardado.

And now I need a young, talented and cheap centre back with minimum 70 pace. Any good suggestions?

Also, my starting XI (in a 4-2-3-1):

                          Diego Alves

                          João Pereira -- Ricardo Costa -- Mathieu -- Bernat/Guardado

                          Parejo -- Ever Banega

                          Vargas/Fede -- Jonas -- Feghouli

                          Paco Alcácer

I'm also doing a side career apart from my one with Milwall. And I have chose to play as Orlando Pirates, and I have put them and their rivals, Kaizer Chiefs into the Brazilian league.

They have a budget of $800,000 and only one or two major players. I thought this would be a great challenge and I think I might have more fun with this than Milwall in the Championship.

Does anyone have any suggestions for players who are cheap, like under $500,000 cheap??

                              Current Roster: 4-4-2

                              GK - Meyiwa (74)
                              DEF - Jele (69), Mahamutsa (67), Lekgwathi (64), Matlaba (70)
                              MID - Manylsa (70), Myeni (73), Klate (72), Ngoma (65)
                              ATT - Majoro (68), Bacela (70)

Side note, I'm trying to also have realistic signings too. Thanks guys.

                              NFL - Chicago Bears
CFB - Notre Dame (Attended Western Michigan)
                              Football - Chelsea FC

I don't know about realism, but I love most of the Chesterfield players (English League 2). Ryan is a 26 year old CM with a contract that expires in 2014, so he might be a nice cheap signing.
