Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

How can I scout the opposing teams? I see that most of the players have some check boxes instead of a range of numbers for all attributes is it normal?
This is when clicking on team stats on last tab I think this is the name.
Is there any way to make an idea about what kind of players you go against?

Can anyone help in making Bosman transfers? I've noticed that some clubs snap up Ronaldinho for free and I was wondering how it can be done.

My Spurs CM is going just like the real Spurs season.

Winning 1-0 all the damn time, haha. Although most of my goals come from open play instead of the penalty spot

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Level – Professional; Controls – Manual; Half Length – 6 mins; Club – Spurs; Sliders – Orion’s latest post-patch set (amazing, thank you)

I’m really starting to enjoy this game, things are starting to flow nicely. I only switched to manual controls in FIFA 13, and despite wrestling with it at first, I will NEVER consider switching back. Since the switch, my shooting is far from deadly as yet (though it’s a damn sight better than it was! STEEP learning curve or what), so I ALWAYS go through a patch at the start of a new FIFA yearly edition where I can’t score, or struggle to create chances, but HOPEFULLY that is now mostly behind me. One thing I’ve noticed this year is how many different types of goal you can score. There don’t seem to be any ‘go-to’ plays or ‘easy’ goals this year, which is superb, and MUCH more realistic. 1on1’s are still tricky, but I’m getting there. I also did away with the inverted wingers, as things became far too congested in the centre of the pitch. Left footers now play on the left etc. Genius ;o)

          Played - 23
          Points - 50
League Position – 2nd (behind Liverpool on GD)
Goals scored – 26 (very low…but creeping up of late, normal for me at first for sure)
Clean sheets – 16 (Lloris can have a lie down ;o)

Got an FA Cup QF vs Man United to look forward to, and a 2nd round Europa League tie vs Ajax.

The board are happy, I’m happy, the sky is blue, birds are singing. ;o)

I always make a point of keeping the Spurs squad as it is UNTIL I win the league, then I spend the cash. I think I’ll play this season, and MAYBE crank it up to World Class, and increase the half-length too. The constant Global Transfer Market emails got right on my nerves so I’ve scaled back my scouting now.

Finest incarnation of FIFA, and indeed of football yet, by some distance. :o)

Set up my new Udinese CM, and got the website going, but won't get in any games until November 9th at least (taking the kiddies to Disney World). Should be an interesting CM, and first I've ever done in Serie A, so if I get bored it could turn into a Manager CM if I decide to leave, but don't see that happening for awhile, as their budget is enough to bring in some young talent (1 or 2), but not what I would call world class talent, so it will be a building process to compete at the very top.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

a little off topic here but I was wondering if you guys could help me. I first loaded the game and played as a player career and it gave me the option to use my virtual pro. Now for whatever reason when I go try and play as a player I cant use a virtual pro. I have to create a player or play as a real player. Any of you guys had this problem and if so how do you fix it? this is really irritating me. I remember in years past that you had to create a virtual pro then go back to the main screen to change his position. Is this still the case. Any help would be nice as I'm utterly frustrated. thanks in advance

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

I have started a CM with Sheffield United, and after 15 games I am top of the league on 3 points, one point above Preston who are on 33 points. This is my team at the moment, in a 5-2-2-1 formation:
                GK: Long
                RWB: MacMahon
                RCB: Maguire
CB: Zakauni (c) (signed from Peterborough)
LCB: M.Keane (on loan from Manchester United)
LWB: Ake (on loan from Chelsea)
                CM: Baxter
                CM: Caskey (signed from Brighton)
                RW: Obita (signed from Reading)
                ST: Marlon King
                LW: Murphy

Some very good young players, so the future is looking bright!!

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Hey lads! To be honest, I hear a lot of people not enjoying FIFA 14 so far, but for me it's the complete oppsite! Just the turfs look fantastic when i play..
But anyway[sorry for my bad english, you may see mistakes at places]..

I started a Career Mode with Chelsea (my favourite team) and it's... tough. Cause I started playing on Legendary with sliders, but it was still too hard to score and there were too much matches ending 1-0 or 1-1, I was drawing quite a lot, and actually the 8 draws we have in the league really pushed us down.. I've decided going back to World Class, tbh that's where I belong..

So, it's 1st March 2014 and we have a game vs Fulham.
I can show you the table of the top teams..

                  1.Liverpool - 27g. 63pts
                  2.Man.Utd - 26g. 59pts
                  3.Chelsea - 27g. 56pts
                  4.Spurs - 26g. 51pts
                  5.Arsenal - 27g. 49pts
                  6.Newcastle - 28g. 49pts
                  7.Man.City - 26g. 47pts

As you can see, we are in the worst position from the title contenders and we need to make a really impressive streak in order to really challenge Liverpool. And in the final matchdays we have a game against them, so if we can get into that match with confidence [because we have games vs : Fulham, Crystal Palace, Spurs, A.Villa, Arsenal, Stoke, Swansea and Sunderland] we will hopefully cause some damage to the reds.

I switch between 4-2-2-2 and 4-2-3-1(the Chelsea default).
With the 4-2-3-1 we do have some freedom but i can see that the striker just.. gets a bit seperated/isolated from the game..and that's why it's Career Mode - to attach your ideas to the team you manage.. Nobody has ever said that Chelsea can only play 4-2-3-1, although I need to use players like De Bruyne and Mata on the wings sometime which is a bit of loss cause they are not the paciest guys eva.. But i switch betweenthe two of them..

                  I made some transfers aswell..

                  Out :

                  F.Torres -> O.Lyon [9,500 000£]He just had to go.. and I think he'll help Lyon.
J.Obi Mikel -> Schalke 04 [4,000 000£] Great CDM but his tackling and passing were just decent, but nothing more.
M.Essien -> Bayer 04 [2,200 000£] Again, he was fantastic the opening 2 months of the season but he started decreasing super fast.. His strength was like 85 and for 2 months it went down to 78..
D.Ba -> Arsenal [11,000 000£] Arsenal just went flying in with those 11 mil considering he was worth 7mil and not good enough..
                  K.Omeruo -> Middlesbrough [400 000£]
N.Aké -> 2 times on short loan. I feel like that helped him..
I.Feruz -> loan (doesn't matter the club) he is a really godd player for a lower side.. Take a look at him!

                  Total Earned - 27,100 000£ ( if I am not wrong )

                  In :

F.Coentráo from R.Madrid [9,500 000£] Cole is aging and Coentrao gets up to 86.
Rodrigo from Benfica [7,500 000£] Really needed some pace on the ST position, plus he fits our style of fast and 1-2's passing.
L.Muriel from Udinese [20,000 000£] Wow, a lot of money and.. he turned to have 3* skills.. I know he is fixed but when I started he was still 3*.. But anyway, skilling is not really crucial, plus he scored 2 goals in last match against Everton which gave us the win..
X.Shaqiri from FC Bayern [18,500 000£] He was a god on FIFA 13 and he's no worse at all now.
M.Vidal from Toulouse FC [1,200 000] Just wanted to have a keeper with decent potential and.. damn he is grown by 1 already for month and a half.
Ah, nearly forgot - I recalled Lukaku from his loan cause he was not playing and growing at all. So after I recalled him at January, he started growing like crazy!

                  Total Spent - 56,700 000£
..which means we have a 30mil loss but we had huge wages ( around 300 000£ wage budget ) and I turned it down a lil bit.
And at this moment I have 20mil budget with 150 000 for wages which will surely take me to the end of the season..

Transfer-wise I completely rebuilt my team, we have a lot of amazing players and that's why some of them don't play as much as they expect.
So we may not win the league but when next season L.Piazon and T.Courtois return, we are going to be just.. one step higher than the other PL teams..

Aswell, we finished 1st in the CL group with 14 points and no losses. Basel got through the groups aswell. We got matched up against Galatasaray (we met Drogba ) in the 1/8 finals and we tied the first leg, which was at their ground, so going into the 2nd leg with confidence.

But You never know, I am really enjoying this CM and I've decided to make it like a journey (not that it's realistic to start with Chelsea) and hopefully I don't get fired. You can expect that from Roman.. Cause i've never played more than 2 seasons in CM, idk what is up with me and getting bored of the same CM..

                        SEASON 2

                        Position: RF
                        Difficulty: Legendary (Gonira's Sliders)
                        League: Barclay's Premier League
                        Team: Arsenal
                        Objectives: Can't remember

I finished my first season on loan at Cheltenham Town a few weeks ago but didn't have time to play since then. I helped to get Cheltenham promoted via 35 goals and 14 assists. Despite such a performance I was robbed for Player of the Year by an Oxford striker who didn't have half as many goals as me and nowhere near as many assists. Thanks to all of the accomplishments I racked up I progressed to 80 OVR. Altogether a good first season.

I'm now back at Arsenal. After 2 friendlies I remembered why I would never accept a loan to a team with a lone ST formation. Right now my build-up in the final 3rd feels disjointed because instead of 2 ST I only have the 1, and to me he feels separated from the rest of the team.

Anyway, my first friendly was a 2-1 loss to Marseille where they scored in the 89th minute. Suffice it to say I was not pleased. That was supposed to be the only game I played yesterday but wanted revenge so I played my 2nd friendly against PSG. That game highlighted the difference between lower league and top flight teams. They played fast, accurately, and their defense was almost impossible to break down. Unfortunately for them I was pissed so they got wrecked 5-2. My defense was likely the biggest factor in my victory as they disrupted their shots leaving them with 14 shots on target of 22 (probably the biggest tally against me thus far). On the other side of the field my offense was extremely accurate as we had 5 shots on target of 7.

I'm thinking I might call this career a wrap. I only intended to use this career to get used to the game and while it's been fun, the lack of influence in more of the team is getting pretty boring. I think I'll go back to my Oxford CM until Xbone drops.

Just played my most exciting virtual pro match ever; My player who plays for Nottingham Forest but is on loan to Northhampton F.C. got recalled to play an international friendly for Mexico vs. Chile; There's something exciting about playing for your national team even though it was only a friendly. I am 3rd generation Mexican on my mother's side so even though I was born and raised in Texas, I am proud of my Mexican heritage.

Anyway, I was placed as RAM so I got didn't make any crosses like I usually do but I did attack more and made a lot of finesse one touch passes. Chile scored early but we had plenty of scoring chances in the first half; I placed a perfect through ball for Carlos Vela and he sent a booming shot that would have gone in but it hit the top post.

I felt like we dominated the game but couldn't score; it was down to the 90th minute as injury time just started; Rafael Marquez sent a long pass to me which I headed back to one of my midfielders; he lobbed a ball to the left side of the pitch as our LM ran to track the ball down. I saw this so I made sure I was onside before I made my run down the middle of the box. my LM sent a low cross right into my slide and I sent the ball right into the goal keeper but it went off his hands and literally as I got back up from sliding, the ball went off my butt and into the net. I may have scored the first butt goal in Mexican history.

It was a fun match; I used Gonira's sliders but human sliders for both HUM and CPU and played on world class instead of legendary. There were times I was dribbling down the pitch near the box ready to shoot when the opponent pushed me from behind causing me to take a weak shot; at first I was frustrated but then I realised, I am not in Northhampton Town anymore; my player is only a 72 overall and Chile has world class players.

As a last resort you could delete the games save from the HDD and start over. You wouldn't lose anything from the EASFC and you should be able to make another VP. If you don't have any saved games or careers that you care about that's probably your quickest and best bet.

If you don't have any saved games or careers that you care about that's probably your quickest and best bet.
Well I got one good career going in manager mode but I want my virtual pro lol. I have it saved on USB does that matter? Or do I have to go in and delete everything and start over? I had my virtual pro when I first loaded but not since then I mean I don't care about starting over. So a more help from you guys is appreciated
