Good teams in the BPL which may be slightly more interesting, Newcastle, Everton, Southampton or for a bigger budget and better squad try Spurs. Teams in the Championship that I would recommend would be QPR (my team), Forest, or Leeds because of the club history. Or probably one of the best careers this year, Wolves. After suffering back to back relegation to League 1 they have by far the best squad and the best budget in the league and they're better than most Championship teams, so take them back to the prem possibly.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
I am new to FIFA this year and love building up low teams in NCAA through a long career system. I started out with Mansfield town in League 2 and after a few seasons have them promoted up to the league championship. I was shocked to see that my starting budget didn't go up by much and am scared that if I make it up to premiere league I'll never have the budget to compete - regardless of success. A few questions for you guys:
1 - Does the budget ever catch up?
1a - If not, is there any way to compete? Can you even afford it if you use all youth squad players and grow your salaries over time?
2 - I see that some people have gone the route of picking a PL team and swapping rosters with a League 2 team to do the build up. I could do this with some house rules, but that opens up the following questions:
2a- What is an appropriate mid range budget to give myself for league 2/1/champions/PL?
2b- What teams would you suggest that have a mid range PL budget (with decent kits)?
3 - What exactly does the financial takeover do? Will this be a one time influx of cash or will it update my budget to a more appropriate one for my league?Timeetyo

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Bro, what financial takeover is , is that all of a sudden your team gets taken over by a crazy multi billionare like Vincent Tan and decides to give u a fraction of his title. He will give u around £60m.
Secondly, how about Southampton. They have got a few talents like Lallana and Rodriguez or Everton, with the likes of Lukaku and Barkley.
Hey, I'd like to start a career with a team that is not that good but I want to make them invincible by bringing in young talents and making them win the champions league. Ideally a team out of BPL or maybe in it but have nice kits.
Have a look back at my 1st post and see if u could help me out bro. ThanksComment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Something I noticed in Manager Mode is that for example:
I'm currently the manager at Stoke City with a budget of $5 million.
I'm offered the job at Manchester City, which has a budget of $120 million.
If I accept the job, the $5 million budget from Stoke City carries over to Manchester City.
Is this a known glitch/do I eventually get the money that I'm supposed to have?NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse
Soccer: USMNT/DC United

1. The budget does eventually catch up. It takes awhile though. Last year, as Le Havre in the French Ligue 2. I started out with a budget of 2 million, but it gradually ballooned to 25 million in year 5. It depends largely on your team's overall it seems. I built a solid youth program there and used it to supplement my cash flow.
2. I'd recommend Southampton, Newcastle or maybe West Ham as a league 2 swap team. All three have solid kits and mid range budgets.
3. One time in flux of money
I will continue to supplement with selling players as I build up my youth squad.Timeetyo

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Ok, I think I have CM ADHD because I just can't seem to stick with one. At some point along the way I realize that I could've done some things better and restart in order to do so, aaaand I think I'm going to do the same again.
I recently started a CM with Arsenal by swapping their squad with Rangers and putting them in League 2. My plan was to play as if I had Rangers' budget, which I did. My issue now is with the Youth Academy and game difficulty.
I usually play on Legendary with Orion's/Gonira's sliders. Although I win most of my games I often get frustrated with the nonsense the game engine does to make the game harder (if you've played enough games on Legendary you know what I'm talking about). For about the past 50 games I played I've been going back and forth between World Class and Legendary, usually 10 games at a time to see which I like better, and I think the game plays better on World Class. To me it feels like in the more difficult games on WC the engine raises the CPU's playing ability to Legendary while on Legendary it nerfs my players' abilities, particularly with movement and ball control. I'll make WC harder if I have to but I can't get beat on Legendary without feeling cheated.
Second, and possibly more annoying than the Legendary nerfing, is the Youth Academy. Now, into my 3rd season, aside from a LB that I promoted to replace a starter that forced a transfer, I promoted my first batch of players. 5 players that went through 2 May 1st growths, with potentials of 88-94, overalls 70-75. Having watched these players, reloading a bunch of times when the CPU tried to take them away, I was very excited to reap the fruits of my labor. What did I get? A HARVEST OF SLOWPOKES!!! One was a 73 OVR CAM with 60 spd & 56 accel, another was a 70 OVR ST with 55 spd & 47 accel. 47!!! I remember how it was in '13 with prospects having low-*** physicals that don't grow and I don't feel like dealing with that this year.
Long story short, I'm restarting on WC, making it harder as I go along if I need to (likely by increasing Marking or GK ability since I get lots of shots) and starting my Academy from the Jump and being SUPER selective. Updates once it gets going.XBL GT: The Kingpin187Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Quick question. When a player approaches about wages, I go to contracts. If I decide to up his wage it adds another yr on his contract or does this cancel his previous contract. Gibbs has 4 yrs left but wants like 140k wage. I think it's at 110 now. If I adjust this does it make it 5 yrs or is his new contract just 1? I'm pretty lost, lol.5Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Thanks bro. Also I never had this happen and I'm kind of not wanting to give him the $ but also don't know what the pros or cons would be. Do you know? Also he's only asking 1 yr also.5Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
There are basically no pros of not giving him the wage increase. He'll complain again saying that nothing has been done and he's not happy and if you still don't do anything he will complain to the board, then they'll send you an email saying they've transfer listed him and you can remove him once a new deal has been agreed. I've always gave my players the contracts if I can afford it so I don't know what happens if you still don't increase their wage. But you'll probably end up being forced to sell him by the board or they'll sell him for youComment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
So here's an update on my career. I recently switched over from the 360 to the PS3 and I like it a lot. I'm using QPR and have them a league 2 team and advanced them up. This is my 2nd season I won the capital one cup to get into th Europe league and I'm really enjoying my team. I sold Park Remey Granero and Talbarat and bought Butland Martial and Amos. I did a sort of financial takeover by creating 2 players myself and that's it. So basically that's how I'm doing so far. I just lost in 2014 in the 2nd round of the Capital cup but that's ok that's not a major tournament for me updates coming soonComment
