How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

      ImageUploadedByTapatalk1401681116.421462.jpg

With limited funds Chavez has struggled significantly to strengthen the squad on this first transfer window. After a full month and 1 week AFC Wimbledon have managed to bring in young Jacob Murphy from Southend United in exchange for Strutton and cash. Chavez made a huge effort to bring in Max Clayton from Crewe Alexandria who is valued at $160,000 but Crewe would not accept an offer lower than $600,000. In the end, due to insufficient funds, Chavez managed to bring in Max Clayton on a year long loan with a future fee of $500,000. Chavez tried to bring in Hause from Wolverhampton but after several attempts Wolverhampton decided to block all further offers from Chavez. Chavez pushed for Lee Evans also from Wolverhampton but soon realized Evans' wage was too much for League 2 and therefore had to retract his offer. The last target on Chavez's list (that has not been blocked by the player's club yet) is Tyler Harvey from Plymouth Argyle, but unfortunately negotiations have not been advancing.

Some quick words from Chavez when asked about his transfer activity:

"We're still hoping to bring in Tyler (Harvey) but if we are unable to I'm still rather satisfied with what we have so far. It is difficult to convince clubs to let go of players since we are all fighting for promotion, and even if we are able to convince them it is even more difficult to convince the player himself, especially if he is from League 1, since signing with us would mean dropping down a level. This is why I'd like to recognize (Jacob) Murphy and Max (Clayton) for hearing us out and getting on board with our project. This is all in the name of the fans after all. We wouldn't be here if it weren't for them."

Chavez won his first match 2-0 against Hartlepool where the team dominated possession and immediately imposed his style of play, defending with a 4-1-4-1 formation that quickly becomes a 3-4-3 in attack as the CDM Sammy Moore slides in between the two CBs to allow the fullbacks to push forward. Kevin Saint-Luce, a squad player before Chavez's arrival, netted the first goal and assisted the second. Chavez has deposited his trust on the young winger and it is paying off so far.

Max Clayton made his debut for the Dons on game number 2 of the season, a Capitol One Cup fixture vs Crawley Town, where he dashed through Crawley's defense for 90 minutes and netted a hat-trick. Chavez decided to give his starting striker Hylton a rest and it couldn't have gone better. The Dons pass to the next round after a 3-0 victory over Crawley Town.

Jacob Murphy had a very promising debut showing great football on both the left and right flanks. Chavez appeared very happy with the lad and there's no doubt he will be fighting for a spot in the starting 11.

#10 Jack Midson has failed to impress Chavez since the preseason. However, judging by the last practice, Chavez is still giving him more chances to show his unquestionable talent.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Hello again, guys. I still don't know which team to use for a career. I decided to put Real Madrid Castilla in League 1 and to do an RTG with them, but it isn't working that well and I'm not enjoying it that much. Any interesting teams for a career mode?

Also, it's looking great, Indiblue! Hope you do well with them.

And as for the guy, who asked about favourite players, here's a short list:

        GK:
Hmm... there isn't really a favourite.

        RB:
Danilo from Porto. Starts at 77 I think and in the second season he's 82 or 83. Also Carvajal is good.

        CB:
Varane. He's amazing and young. And Sergio Ramos, but he's expensive.

        LB:
Maybe... Alaba. Or Alba. I don't have a go-to LB.

        CDM/CM:
Easy. Pogba and Vidal. From older players Xabi Alonso is pure class. Modric as well is good.

        CAM:
This is a hard one. Probably someone like Götze or De Bruyne.

        LM/LW:
A hard one. I don't have a favourite. Neymar is okay.

        RM/RW:
        Bale. He's amazing.

        ST:
        Balotelli and Adrian Ramos.

So yeah... many of them are expensive and stars already. But I love them in the game.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

I'm going to start a new career with Man United after my cousin came over and accidentally overwrite my Arsenal CM. I was getting a little bored with it anyway.

Here are the ins and outs of the summer window:

          In:
          W.Carvalho €15 million
          Mangala €20 million
          Candreva €9 million + Nani
          Coentrao €9 million
          Rojo €6 million
          Bakali €3 million
          Shaw €2 million
          5* 5* scout €9 million

          Out:
          Evans €9 million
          Carrick €6 million
          Ferdinand €4 million
          Evra €4 million
          Cleverly €4 million
          Fletcher €4 million
          Buttner €2 million
          Amos €200 k

Sitting third with 11 points from 5 games, which isn't bad considering we had Chelsea, Liverpool and City.

            Making Them Dream
            SEASON 3

            League Cup Quarter Finals

            Wigan 0-5 Liverpool
            Ings 20
            Rodriguez 26
            Rodriguez 36
            Pastore 45
            McManaman 85

Ings gave us the lead, nodding in after Carson spilled Rodriguez's shot. Rodriguez then latched on to an Ings shot that smacked off the post. He got his second running clear and smashing in, as did Pastore. McManaman headed in to make it 5. We deserved to win, the stats don't lie: Wigan shots: 0, Liverpool shots: 16, on target: 13.

            Match 16

            West Brom 1-2 Liverpool
            Sterling 4
            Aboubakar 6
            Rodriguez 32

Sterling gave us the lead with a header early on but immediately after Aboubakar used his blistering pace to get on the end of a shot parried by Mignolet. Rodriguez won it though after cutting inside and hitting it in.

            Champions League Match 6

            Schalke 04 2-2 Liverpool
            Boateng 21
            Boateng 34
            Lallana 73
            McManaman 90

The most heart racing match ever. I was sweating on the side lines. A draw was enough for us to go through in second at the expense of our opposition on goal difference but it didn't go to plan. Boateng cut in from the byline and curled the ball beyond Mignolet. He then headed in to put us 2-0 down going into half time. From a corner, the ball was cleared away and Lallana picked his spot from outside the box. 1 down. As we entered stoppage time, I was making plans for Europa League football when Balo crossed in to find the head of McManaman to head expertly into the top corner. The crowd went wild, and so did I.

            Final Group Table

            Porto 12
            Liverpool 9 (+4 GD)
            Schalke 9 (+1 GD)
            Lokomotiv 1

            Match 17

            Liverpool 2-1 Newcastle
            Rodriguez 3
            McManaman 78
            Sissoko 81

Immediately from kick off, Rodriguez ran through the defence and slotted in. The game was largely uneventful until substitute McManaman smacked in after racing clear of Taylor. We switched off though and Newcastle came through with Sissoko latching onto the rebound.

            Match 18

            Southampton 0-2 Liverpool
            Lallana 63
            Lallana 83

Lallana scored first curling in against his former club into the far post. Lallana scored again late on smashing in.

            Match 19

            Liverpool 3-0 Fulham
            Pastore 32
            Rodriguez 72
            Ings 77

Pastore headed in the opener from a Rodriguez cross and Rodriguez got one in for himself smacking into the bottom corner. Substitute Ings ran clear and smashed in to make it 3.

Thoughts to Ponder Over the Christmas Turkey

We have to sign a new centre back or two. Hummels coming back is brilliant but Mangala is out until the end of the month, although he has decreased in ability due to injury. Marquinhos also has not increased at all so he will have to go. A new keeper will also be great for us. I'm glad that we stayed in the Champions League, my heart was pounding and we still have won every league game this season which I found out is a record. The previous top flight win streak was 14 games.

            Next Match: QPR

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

I'm in my send 2nd season as a Manager. Started at Boca Juniors since they've always been my favorite team and I was excited that the Argentinian League is now in the game. Started on Pro and found it too easy so I moved to WC. I came up short in two initial league and one final league. While on my 2nd season I started applying for jobs in Europe and was turned down a lot but was finally offered at AD Alcorcon in Liga Adelante which I immediately accepted since I'm looking for this sort of challenge. I've got everything I wished for: crappy roster, tough battle ahead. I've only got one player at 70 OVR with everyone else in the mid 60's and NO FORWARDS. Yup, no blue anywhere to be found lol. I also have no depth. Since I got the gig just after the transfer window I'm unable to sign anyone so I hired 5-star scouts and send them out to Argentina/Brazil and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna sign 16-year old kids as strikers.

CAN'T WAIT. Started in 18th place and I've moved up to 14th or 15th. Glad that I'm out of contention for La Liga this season because I'd get DESTROYED there next season and would be sent back down.

No forwards and you're wondering why we're not winning? Okay board... Lol that sounds like a challenge! When all my strikers are injured/tired I always go with the 4-3-3 False 9 and place a CAM as CF. I usually play a lot on the wings with crossing from both the full backs and midfielders but with this formation I have to adjust to the fact I have no striker to fight for headers so I play the ball on the ground. What will you do in the meantime?

Well I saw that what they were doing was just playing midfielders at forward so I'm rolling with that for now because I seriously have no options. Like I said I'm gonna take this 1/2 season to try to lay a foundation so I'm being somewhat patient, but I will continue to run the 4-4-2 diamond which is similar to what you mentioned in that my CAM can at times be that 3rd striker. I often use my RB/LB to move up on the wings depending on the opponent and mix it up by attacking patiently through the middle with the diamond and spacing. It's tough with the lack of talent though as they struggle to hold on to the ball. I'm definitely keeping the ball on the ground for now.

The bigger task is going to be when people get tired or if there's any injuries because I seriously have no depth. Signing youngsters is a must which is why I spent on 5-star scouts. I understand this team isn't attractive so getting players via transfers will be a challenge as well. Ideally I'd bring Leandro Paredes from Boca (high 70's CAM in his early 20's, I highly recommend him)

oh I forgot to mention, I was also hired by Colombia just before the WC and won it (lost only 1 game, final group game vs Belgium was pushed me down to 2nd in the group). Beat Uruguay in the final. Resigned afterwards to focus on Boca Jrs. but was recently offered Spain and couldn't past that up. Playing qualifiers for the Euro now.

                              Table

                              1. QPR - 42
                              2. Reading - 42
                              3. Wigan Athletic - 41
                              4. Leeds United - 39
                              5. Watford - 38
                              6. Leicester City - 36

At the end of November Reading have fallen from top of the table for the first time all season. However, they are even on points with QPR, but missing on goal differential due to a spotty defensive performance so far. The manager knows that if he wants to get this campaign back on track, he will need to bring in some defensive options in the upcoming transfer window.

Has anyone had this glitch? I'm nearing the end of my first month with Wimbledon and all of a sudden I can only select 5 subs. I was changing players for the next match through the career main menu and out of nowhere my bottom 2 substitutes dropped to the reserves as now if I start a game I only have 5 substitutes with me. Anyone know a fix to this? Can't figure out how to get 7 subs again.
