    SkyBet League 2 Match:

    Dr Peter Riou (Senior Physiotherapist):
“The medical staff have cleared Graham Cummins to return from his injury so he can rejoin the first team squad’s training sessions.”

    Tranmere Rovers 2 - Exeter City 4

    TRA– Richards (PEN) (39’)
James Rowe feeds the ball to Tranmere captain, Marc Laird, on the edge of the penalty area and he manages to get some room on the goalkeeper and he tries to shoot but his legs get tangled up with Jordan Tillson, who had to start because both Jordan Moore-Taylor and Scot Bennett got suspensions at the same time for getting too many yellow cards. The referee decides it is a penalty but Tillson gets away with nothing. It’s rather harsh but it’s been given. Eliot Richards steps up and hits the ball down the middle and Pym dives to the right to make Tranmere go ahead.

    TRA Rowe (45’)
Cole Stockton receives the ball on the right and then out paces Pat Baldwin to deliver a whipped ball into the middle of the box where James Rowe gets in front of Ribeiro and heads the ball over the diving Pym and it dips into the net. They deserve it based on Exeter’s lacklustre first half.

EXE Jay (PEN) / TRA – Power (Two Yellows) (60’)
Cummins is taken off at half time due to looking quite slow and clumsy on the ball and he is replaced by Nichols who instantly has an impact. Liam Sercombe nods the ball down to Nichols after a clearance and Nichols drifts to the right and into the box where a slide from Max Power takes him off his feet and Power does not touch the ball at all making it a penalty and a yellow card to the midfielder but Power already has a yellow so he is sent off. Nichols has a little niggle from that challenge and allows Matthew Jay to take the penalty and it’s hit into the top-right hand corner and the keeper goes the wrong way. Exeter might get back in this now that Tranmere only have ten men with thirty minutes still on the clock.

    EXE Reid (69’)
Bee’s substitutes have really flipped this game around! Jimmy Keohane and Jason Pope come on for Matthew Jay and Aaron Dawson respectively in the sixty-ninth minute. Keohane takes a corner from the right. He whips it in to the near post where Jamie Reid gets away from his marker and easily heads home past the goalkeeper for the equaliser.

    EXE –Nichols(PEN) (79’)
Wheeler runs down the right after ten minutes of knocking on the door and he delivers a low cross into the direction of Jimmy Keohane but Janoi Donacien is all over Keohane and they both fall to the floor together allowing the ball to roll into the Tranmere keeper’s hands but the referee thinks it’s a penalty. Nichols is feeling fine again so he takes the penalty. Nichols flicks the ball to the left and the keeper guesses the right way but it is just too high for the goalkeeper to reach.

    EXE Nichols (81’)
Jason Pope finds himself as a striker and skips past Donacien to take a shot that stings the palms of the keeper and out for a corner. Keohane delivers the ball into the box where Nichols shakes off his marker with a great run and then heads the ball into the far corner to end the match for Tranmere.

Our Best Performer: Tom Nichols (When Nichols came on for Cummins he changed the whole course of the game and gave us that hope which allowed us to get the three points)

    SkyBet League 2 Match:

    Exeter City 2 – Plymouth Argyle 1

    EXE Reid (40’)
Exeter score first in the West Country Derby from a corner which is taken on the left by Grimes. It’s cleared away but only to the feet of Jamie Reid on the right. He skips inside the box and then rolls the ball through a blanket of Plymouth defenders and it somehow goes past the goalkeeper before clipping the post and going in.

    EXE Nichols (60’)
Reid picks the ball up on the edge of the penalty area and then delivers a lovely back-heeled pass through the legs of a defender and into the path of Nichols who smashes it past the goalkeeper. The Exeter City fans are going wild at St. James’ Park!

    PLYReid (68’)
Lewis Alessandra collects the ball on the left and beats Craig Woodman for pace. Alessandra drifts into the box and crosses to the back post where Ruben Reid easily nods the ball in.

    PLY PEN (75’)
Ruben Reid runs at the defence dangerously and he gets into the penalty area where Jordan Moore-Taylor sticks a foot out and takes the man. It was unnecessary from Moore-Taylor as Christian Ribeiro and Scot Bennett could have got a challenge in from a better position. Ruben Reid has been particularly dangerous since scoring and he is chosen to take the penalty. Reid stutters his run and hits the ball into the bottom right-hand corner but Christy Pym gets fingertips to it and pushes it onto the bar and the rebound is smuggled away before a Plymouth foot could get to it. It was a great penalty but it was an amazing save!

Our Best Performer: Jamie Reid (Reid played in the striker position in this game and he really shone in that position. His pace is his main asset and he used it well up against Plymouth. He got a great goal and he also set up Nichols. Credit to Christy Pym who made a great save to deny Ruben Reid’s penalty.)

    F.A Cup Match:

    Exeter City 0 – Sunderland 2

    SUN – Giaccherini (25’)
Jack Rodwell passes the ball to Giaccherini on the far left and all he had to do was waltz down the left, turn into the box and flick the ball around the goalkeeper to make it the first goal of the evening.

    SUN –Rodwell (Two Yellows) (26’)
Nichols starts play again and runs into the Sunderland half. He squares up to Jack Rodwell and flicks the ball past him before his outstretched leg could get to it. Rodwell takes down Nichols and gets his second booking.

    SUN Fletcher (67’)
Bridcutt turns away from the goal and flicks the ball over the sliding Grimes to Steven Fletcher. He takes a touch on the edge of the box and smashes the ball into the top right-hand corner.

    SkyBet League 2 Match:

    Burton Albion 2 – Exeter City 2

    EXE – Sercombe (17’)
Liam Sercombe gets the ball on the edge of the penalty area after a bad clearance from a Burton Albion defender. Sercombe nudges ball to the side and shoots. It’s blocked but it falls to Sercombe again who takes a touch into the box and slots the ball under the body of the keeper to make it roll past the line.

    BUR – Beavon (PEN) (39’)
The ball is crossed into the penalty area where it falls to John Mousinho who is muscled off the ball by Liam Sercombe but the referee decides that it is a foul. Stuart Beavon puts it to the right for the equaliser and Pym only watches as he stays in the middle.

    BUR McGurk (55’)
A pass from Stuart Beavon to find Adam McGurk in the box. McGurk abruptly stops before dipping the ball over the goalkeeper and into far corner.
    EXE –Edwards (OG) (65’)
The ball is booted up field to Nichols who runs to right wing and crosses to Cummins. Cummins chests it first time and the ball accidentally goes onto the head of the jumping Phil Edwards who’s trying to get in the way of the cross and it goes straight into the corner of the goal and even the diving goalkeeper cannot get a touch on it.

    BUR Beavon (Two Yellows) (85’)
The first yellow was for a challenge on Nichols when he skipped past Stuart Beavon and Beavon sticks out a leg to bring him down. The second was when Beavon was tackled by Tom Nichols and Beavon tries to recover but just slides straight into Nichols and that gets him his second yellow.

Our Best Performer: Liam Sercombe (He was a driving force in the midfield. When he was in position, he won the ball a lot and set the team on the counter attack but he did get caught out of position a few times.)

    SkyBet League 2 Match:

    Exeter City 2 – Bury 1

    EXE Cummins (14’)
High pressure makes the Bury defence kick the ball out of play deep in their half. Jamie Reid takes the throw-in from the left and it goes to Grimes who skips past a defender’s challenge and run into the box where he cuts it back for Graham Cummins who side-foots it into the bottom left corner.

    EXEGrimes (44’)
A corner from Bury is cleared away and it falls to Grimes who turns and dribbles past the defender to be one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Grimes flicks the ball to the left to take it past the goalkeeper and he then just rolls the ball into the empty net.

    BUR – Soares (65’)
Woodman is pressed highly on the left and passes to the goalkeeper who tries to clear it but Soares jumps in front and deflects it into the net. It was a poor attempt at a clearance by Christy Pym...

Our Best Performer: Matthew Grimes (He dominated the midfield with Liam Sercombe and he also scored and assisted.)

    SkyBet League 2 Match:

    Luton Town 0 – Exeter City 1

    EXE – Reid (75’)
Grimes picks the ball up on the half-way line and passes to Reid on the left. Reid drifts into the middle and Liam Sercombe makes a great dummy run to lure a defender out of position so Reid can sprint into the gap and smash the ball into the top left-hand corner. It took a lot of skill to make sure that he kept the ball under the bar. None of the new signings had anything to do with that...

Our Best Performer: Jamie Reid (He was a constant source of danger for Luton Town and was a little unlucky with some of his crosses.)

Exeter City’s Player of the Month:
    Jamie Reid

Jamie had a big impact this month and has been a reliable source of assists throughout the whole year so far. He got a few assists and some crucial goals. He also really stood out in the Luton Town game!

    Press Conference:

Q: Are you happy with your new signings?

A: Very. They can all individually bring something to the team and they are all top quality signings.

Q: Last month, I asked you if you would consider selling Christy Pym, Graham Cummins or Tom Nichols. You said ‘absolutely not’. What changed your mind about Nichols then?

A: It was solely the amount that was offered. Nichols was amazing at the club and I had no plans on selling him but Colchester offered big money for him and I couldn’t refuse. His estimated market value is ninety thousand pounds but Colchester offered five-hundred and seventy-five pounds for his services. Around six times as much as expected!

Q: Graham Cummins, despite scoring against Bury, has been looking awfully slow.

A: It is to be expected due to him just recovering from an injury and I hope he starts playing like he used to in the next couple of games because he was crucial to our success throughout the first half of the season.

Q: Is Graham Cummins going to get less play time now that Jake Sinclair and Albian Ajeti have come into the team?

A: To be honest, it is quite tricky to say but if his performances are the same as usual, then no.

Q: Your latest transfers have left you with no official wingers. What was your reasoning behind this?

A: There was no reasoning behind it. It was something I had no time to handle due to how busy we were, but Paris Cowan-Hall will be our next official winger at the end of the season and before then; Tim Payne, Jamie Reid and Aaron Dawson are perfectly capable of playing on the wings and there are a few more who could go out wide if need be.

@ Keano16 - For the love of god, please try and get McCarthy. He is just outstanding in FIFA and will effect your team defo.

@ Jamiec47 - Love those signings, I am a tad surprised that you gave Tiote away and for so little aswell.

I've been enjoying everybodys career modes over here, yet I was wondering, wouldn't it be easier to actually have seperate threads for everyones career modes? Just a thought, I am not certain if it is possible or not.

Nothing like a PK's filled final, I bet the feeling was similar to what I went through with Alcorcon against Barcelona in my first Copa Del Rey final (also a W!). You were in charge in the league during most of the season and were able to win it for a 2nd consecutive year which is also an amazing feat especially considering you brought a team from the ground up (and let's not forget your roster restrictions)! All in all, once again you continue to set a pretty high bar for the rest of us and I applaud you for having one hell of a career, looking forward to the next one!

Thanks Rabbit. Means a lot to see you took the time to reply since I know you've been very busy lately. The feeling must have been very similar to your first Copa del Rey final, but yours was probably more exciting since in that time Barcelona had a far superior squad than yours on paper. I hope work gives you some slack soon so we can see another Dagenham update!

Regarding deadline day, some nice business. I'm a little surprised you let Tiote go. He seemed like he'd be a beast. You've steadied up defensively signing Toure and Dijk. Oliveira is a nice addition up front as well. And of course Ronaldinho!!! He should be fun to use. How old is he now btw?
Yeah, I really like Kampl and Begovic and the offer for Krul was too much to say not to!

Toure is solid, haven't used Dijk yet though so I can't comment. Olivieira is looking good and Ronaldinho is so fun to use. He's 34 though so

Tiote kept screwing up defensively so I was willing to let him go. Every other offer was £4 million and no higher so I took what I could get.

            Glory Glory Man United

            September 2016

            Southampton 1 - 3 Manchester City
            Rodriguez 7'
            Di Maria 31', Chicharito 45', Firmino 79'

            Champions League
            Manchester United 6 - 1 Bayer Leverkusen
            Rooney 6', Benzema 12', 45' pen, Sterling 57', 78', Chicharito 88'
            Calhanoglu 43'

Manchester United started off their Champions League campaign impressively with a huge 6-1 victory against Bayer Leverkusen. Old Trafford was full and the home fans got many reasons to cheer. The captain Wayne Rooney opened the scoreline only six minutes in by dribbling into the box and shooting the ball over Berndt Leno who tried to catch it and failed. Six minutes later the man in form Karim Benzema scored the second goal of the night from Raheem Sterling's parried shot. Leverkusen managed to pull one back a few minutes before half time when the free kick god Hakan Calhanoglu scored with a beautiful free kick from the edge of the box. In stoppage time Benzema got a brace from the penalty spot and ten minutes into the second half Sterling scored himself with a shot that hit the crossbar. The ball was going out but the keeper Leno hit it into his own net. Twenty minutes later Sterling got a brace from a counter attack. A couple minutes before half time Javier Hernandez scored the last goal by cutting in from the left and finishing the ball into the top right corner.

            Manchester United 2 - 0 Tottenham Hotspur
            Benzema 80', Chicharito 86'

This game was very hard for both teams as neither of them managed to score from their chances for the first 80 minutes. At the end of the game Tottenham parked the buss and like many times under Sir Alex Ferguson's command the Red Devils scored in the last ten minutes. Karim Benzema scored the winner after dribbling in the box and getting past a defender before shooting the ball into the top right corner. Six minutes later Chicharito scored from a counter attack.

Capital One Cup Round of 32
            Manchester United 1 - 0 Bolton
            Powell 8'

            Stoke City 1 - 2 Manchester United

            Benzema 23', Firmino 85'

            Champions League
            Anderlecht 0 - 3 Manchester United
            Henderson 23', Chicharito 45', Di Maria 77'

Manchester United continued their great run in the Champions League by scoring three past Anderlecht away from home. The first goal was scored by the English midfielder Jordan Henderson who shot the ball into the top left corner after Angel Di Maria passed it to him with his heel. Twenty minutes later Chicharito cut in from the left wing and curled the ball into the bottom right corner. In the 77th minute Angel Di Maria scored the final goal by tapping the ball into the net from a counter attack and a pass by Raheem Sterling.

            Player of the Month

            Karim Benzema

Benzema continued to perform amazingly this month for Manchester United and he netted four goals. The French striker also assisted a goal and he continues to be a very dangerous player for the opponent's defenders. He has been playing a lot better than Robin van Persie did before leaving.

            League Table

            1. Manchester United, 16 pts
            2. Chelsea FC, 14 pts
            3. Manchester City, 12 pts
            4. Liverpool, 12 pts
            5. Arsenal FC, 12 pts
            6. Southampton, 10 pts
            -------------------------------------------
            18. QPR, 4 pts
            19. Everton, 3 pts
            20. Wigan Athletic, 3 pts

            Press Conference

You got off to a very good start and you're first in the league by two points. How have you done in these two months?

I think we have done amazingly. Yes, we have let in some easy and stupid goals but we have won all but one league game. We are still unbeaten in the league and this time I'm sure we will win it. With this squad we have everything less than the title will be a disappointment. If we don't win the league I promise that I will resign.

The Champions League campaign started well, too.

You're right. The game against Leverkusen was our best one so far in my opinion. We dominated that game and managed to score six goals against a team that plays in the Champions League year in year out. I think they could've saved at least two of the goals but I'm not taking anything away from our boys. They went out there and showed that Manchester United is back.

You beat Anderlecht and Leverkusen easily. Can you do the same against Valencia?

Yes, I think so. Maybe we won't be as dominant against them but I believe we can beat them.

Why did you change the squad so much in the summer?

Because it needed to be improved. We sold a lot of dead wood for a good amount of money and we sold two starters who weren't that good or they wanted to leave. The signings we made are pretty obvious to why they were bought. Our defence was horrific last season and every defender needed to be replaced with a better one. I want to address that we didn't sign Thiago Silva on purpose, it was an accident. I though I was signing another paper but it was his contract. Nemanja (Matic) arrived because we needed a stronger holding midfielder. Karim (Benzema) was bought because we needed to replace van Persie and Raheem Sterling is here because our right winger wasn't efficient enough last season.

            Have the signings worked out?

Yes, they have. The only question mark is Thiago Silva because he is getting older and he is starting to get slower so we might try to replace him in January. All the other players have been great and I think the squad is a lot better thanks to them.

Thank you for reading this post! I hope you have enjoyed it! Any feedback or suggestions will be appreciated!

Winning the Champions League and Premier League in one season is a tremendous way to sign off, and I'm sure you'll be loved at this club forever more. That said, I can't wait to see what you get up to next. It'll be a challenge to dive into it with as much enthusiasm as you did Wimbledon, but you'll get there.

As for my new career, the only thing I've decided is I'm going to play 4-4-2. Beyond that, I'm having trouble choosing a club. I know a lot of you say that sides in the lower divisions are more rewarding since you build your team from scratch, but I don't think that sort of career is for me, not now anyway. I don't really like fielding a team of 86-rated players for £40 million, but I lack the patience to work a team up from the third and fourth divisions.

I want that to change, especially since the PS4 makes this game so amazing, so I will pick
[FONT=Trebuchet MS] (and stay with) a League One team later on in the season, most likely Notts County or Preston. But for now, I think I'll go with one of the more vibrant top-flight sides. Below are the club's I've shortlisted across Europe, and the foundations for the storyline I will use if I pick them.

Thanks Indi it truly means a lot to see everyone's replies to my last Wimbledon update. I can only hope to create another career that will be as well received by you guys as the Wimbledon career. It really is a little difficult to start a new one now since I played with Wimbledon for so long. I started a Guadalajara career to adapt to the new game and prepare for future updates. So far it's had its ups and downs. Does anyone else feel that it takes longer to play matches on 15 compared to 14? With all the new animations and player instructions I take about 30 minutes to play through one match and I'm on 7 minute halves. I haven't actually timed it myself but I noticed when I check my phone after matches that it's been about 30 minutes or so.

Are you using a 4-4-2 Holding or Flat? I tried a 4-4-2 Holding during the preseason and it didn't work out for me. Felt like my players were too unorganized. I always struggle with 2 striker formations though. At Wimbledon I tried several before sticking with a customized 4-2-2-2. With Guadalajara I tried the 4-2-2-2 and tried to replicate the editing I had done for it with Wimbledon but it didn't work either. I then tried a 4-1-3-2 for a little and it felt much better. Right now I'm using a 4-4-1-1 Attack. I like the new additions to the Team Management menus but I do miss the layout when choosing formations a little. For example instead of seeing formations listed as 4-1-4-1, 4-2-3-1, 4-5-1 Attack, etc they are all just listed as 4-5-1.

Anyway, I've never been a fan of French football but since I was a younger I always thought of making a career with Bordeaux. I can't remember which FIFA I was playing back then but I just remember I liked the kits from that year. Looking forward to your decision!

I got to be honest Chico, if there ever was a career mode that shouid go into the HOF, it would be yours. Well done and very, very well finished aswell. Your career mode has given everybody a prime example how to maintain one and I really hope that I can do something like that, and I am sure most of us would.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Okay so formation talk time. I only have April amd May left in my season, after which I will be promoting two potential to be special CAMs. I need to find a way to fit them both into my plans since my current 4-3-3 only uses 1 CAM and 2 CDMs. I was a thinking of switching to a 4-4-2 diamond that would be a hybrid of narrow and wide.

I have a LW from my academy that currently plays out wide but his pace stats are high 60s, which is would work well to have a winger type player for the wide diamond. On the other side though I would play one of those new CAMs in a more narrow type position to keep him closer to the middle of the field. It works out though because I have a winger minded player as my RB so he would get he overlap down the right side while I have my LW staying out wide on the other side of the diamond. Yoel van Nieff is solid for playing the holding spot in the back of the diamond.

And I also have a defensive minded CM with potential to be special that will take that over eventually. That gives me a future midfield diamond of all potential to be special haha. And my two forwards would be James Wilson and Bradford Jamieson who have been an unbelievable pairing up from. I currently have Jamieson playing on the right wing but his natural position is ST so this could benefit him as well.

                  Thoughts? Questions? Concerns?

Your career mode has given everybody a prime example how to maintain one and I really hope that I can do something like that, and I am sure most of us would.

Thanks a lot man. I truly appreciate everybody's comments I can't stress enough how much it means to me. You guys have been great and I'm glad you guys enjoyed the career. I'm really interested in your player career. Like Simppu I'm not too big on player careers but you're doing yours much different, writing from the players point of view of what he sees and feels. The atmosphere around him and the concern for his future. The reward system sounds awesome too. I think your prediction on how the player will look was spot on, because had I been given the first pick the first thing I would do is give him the biggest Afro available haha. For the next 7 games I'm gonna go big and say you will score 7 goals.

                        Thoughts? Questions? Concerns?

Somebody say formation talk? Hell yeah! First off, your idea, love it. Since you first mentioned it a while back I thought the narrow 4-4-2 would be best for your two CAMs. If you were playing with 1 striker you would have more options of course, but it would be impossible to bench one of those strikers as they have been really good for you. Another thing you could possibly try is a 5-3-2, with a CDM and the two CAMs playing LCM and RCM. The CDM would have to be edited to ensure he stays back just roaming the area near the back line, since your CMs will most likely be pushing high due to their offensive mentality. However the 5-3-2 would possibly leave out your LW unless his stats allow him to play as LWB. Sounds like your current LB is more defensive minded so depending on his other stats he might fit well at LCB. He will still have to play a similar role to LB when he has to cover for the LWB anyway so it won't be something completely new to him. You mentioned your RB has a winger mentality so he would be perfect for RWB.

I like your idea of the 4-4-2 Diamond though. Pretty much you will edit it so you'll have a LM on one side, and a RCM on the other. I have never tried anything like that but I would love to hear how that works out. I've always had that in mind but on 14 I never tried it since I felt I would lose balance on the formation, but the players that you will have to work with should be able to balance it out. I'm heading out for my lunch break now so that's all I have time to say, but I'm really looking forward to hearing what you chose and how it worked out! Now we just have to wait for those players to be promoted first... Lol

It should be the most detailed formation I've ever built with the adjustments and instructions that will go into it. But the personnel is right to keep it balanced on both sides if I can get the instructions to work correctly. It will be interesting to see how it works out. First there are still 10 matches or so left this season to take care of!

That and then some, its an absurd number. Finally got FIFA on next gen, not too sure which team I want in CM yet though.
