* Falaph - 1st time commenting on your CM but I like your team choice. I'm a fan of the Lingard acquisition and wondering how he's doing for you as a playmaker. What formation are you playing with? (sorry if you've stated this and I missed it). Nice to see you in 1st place already, everyone knows the Championship was a battle for me at Dagenham for 2 seasons.

* Indi - is Aristeguieta still out? ok that's not all I care about. Nice to see you go with the 4-4-2 diamond (I role with the wide formation but still). Congrats on making it to the group stages of the Europe League, I think you could come out on top of that group (04 will be your toughest challenge). Would love to know how the experience of playing in France has been for you as opposed to the main leagues we all play in all the time.

Admittedly it'd also be hard to pay attention to it for 10 minutes given my limited time, but I really liked watching them before when I wasn't so busy. I respect that you try to adjust your formations so often especially running a different scheme with the B team, I never take the time to do that and just run everyone on the 4-4-2 wide diamond (and try to acquire players to fit that scheme). Would I be wrong in guessing you're not afraid to play your B team so much in the early going because staying away from La Liga for one more season wouldn't be the worst thing in the world?

* Cruzzer - good to see you back again from injury. Scoring against my Daggers huh? It's cool, nice work. I think Morecambe loses ONE game in March.

* SHoward - I've been looking forward to commenting on your CM since the moment I saw you going to Argentina, one of my favorite leagues as I watched a lot of it growing up. You got my interest too by laying out the team's history, what made you interested in them? Looking forward to the first few games, my Alcorcon CM started at Boca Jrs for 1 1/2 seasons before applying at Alcorcon. If you are able to land Ramiro Caseres from Velez I'd recommend him.

Unrelated question: Have you thought about which national team you might use in 15?

I think I've decided on one to wait for, and I have a small connection to the country through my grandmother so I will make use of that somehow in my story for taking over if I ever get the offer.

Man good question. I hadn't even thought of that. I usually go for a national team that's close to my club, but I wouldn't want to manage Spain since they have loads of talent. I think I would wait for an offer from either the United States or Mexico, since I plan on scouting a couple youth players from there.

Thanks man means a lot. Always good to read that my updates aren't a pain to read or anything lol I wouldn't mind not being promoted, but my board has their eyes set on it. My season objective is to achieve automatic promotion so I don't think I have a choice really. I always try to give the B team 1 or 2 matches per month. I usually give my first team at least 4 matches and let the B team have the rest, or if the match schedule is too tight the B team comes in for support. I know I've been using the B team a lot, but I actually want promotion lol

You should try giving the B team a different formation. Feels like a different team and keeps it from feeling repetitive if you've ever had an issue with that. Sometimes I actually look forward to matches with the B team if I am trying something new with them.

Barcelona B accepted a $1m offer for Quinti but in the end I couldn't go through with it and chose to use the money elsewhere. That's from first season though so I don't know how much more expensive he gets later on. I think he's rated in the low 60s though so he would be a player for the future not for immediate game time. :/

At Wimbledon I had Jack Robertson and he was awesome. Not sure how much you could get him for but you should give him a look. Also I'm not sure how high his overall will be on 15 I think he starts off in the 65ish range

October 2014 - Season 1

CA Osasuna 2 - 1 CD Recreativo
REC: Molina 51'
OSA: Guillermo 56' 90'
When Molina scored for Recreativo in the 51st minute, all we could see was long faces on the Osasuna bench and even on the field. It looked like the Reds were going towards their 3rd defeat in a row, and our sources indicate that the board has already expressed their unhappiness to Chavez as they witnessed their team drop further and further on the league table. Then, only 5 minutes later, the 21 year old Guillermo rose to score a header for Osasuna and equalize the match! The entire bench jumped up in celebration, but not Chavez. Yes a draw is better than a loss, but he knows he needs to begin adding by 3 if he wants to keep his job. Then, as the match was coming to a close, Sisi made a run down the sideline, cut into the box, continued to dribble and then unexpectedly passed it back to Guillermo also in the box, who then took an amazing curved shot into the bottom right corner of the net. Osasuna had flipped the score line and won in the final minute of the match, finally ending what was beginning to look like a losing streak! Finally, we saw Chavez crack a smile.

Real Betis 0 - 1 CA Osasuna
OSA: Guillermo 57'
Last month Osasuna showed several times that they have a shaky defense so we didn't think they would be capable of holding the clean sheet after Guillermo scored but thanks to Riesgo they did! Real Betis, managed by a so called Sports Freak, (no really that's what he calls himself... Don't ask) were clearly the better team on the field but Osasuna's midfield managed to defend well enough and link up with Guillermo to score as well. Having 3 men in midfield has really improved Osasuna's game but the back line really needs to step it up. Betis threatened to equalize time and time again especially when Chavez decided to park the bus, but luckily Asier Riesgo was up to the challenge and managed to get to the end of every shot before it reached his net. Osasuna may not have played the best football, but they got the win.

CA Osasuna 2 - 0 Mallorca
OSA: Sisi 8' Guillermo 62'
Chavez's new 4-3-3 is paying off extremely well this month, and Osasuna managed to get a comfortable win against another potential promotion candidate. Sisi has been a surprise so far, as he really struggled to play well last month as a RM but now as a RW, he's been helping the team score goals and now scoring one himself. Sisi made a run past his marker and Guillermo sent him a perfect lob pass anticipating his run, which Sisi was able to bring down in the box and shoot past the incoming keeper. In the second half, Guillermo would receive the ball at the edge of the box with his back towards goal, shield it, then quickly turn around to run into the open space left by the marker he had on his back and shoot towards the far post and into the net. Many questioned the young striker's arrival, but he's backing it up with goals this month.

Copa Del Rey
CA Osasuna (B Team) 2 - 1 CD Lugo
CDL: Aganzo 73'
OSA: Alonso 76' Camarasa 90'
Osasuna's B team stepped out to take on the team's first appearance in the Copa Del Rey of the season against a team that the first team defeated very comfortably earlier in the season by the score of 3-0. It seems Chavez underestimated Lugo, previously managed by Poulka, as they completely dominated his players and pressed his back line, making it hard for his wing backs to overlap. Lugo were well aware that Jose Garcia was the brain in Osasuna's attack, and the defenders immediately established their presence with two very hard slide tackles against the young 17 year old. The match was very entertaining to watch, as Osasuna didn't stay back too much despite being pressed, and always tried to go forward. This being a cup match, Chavez knew he couldn't just sit back and wait for his opponent. The worst came in the 73rd minute though, as CD Lugo scored the first goal of the match very near to the end. Osasuna did not look like they had a chance, as Lugo had been on top and Osasuna weren't even close to troubling Lugo's goalkeeper. Chavez immediately changed the formation, dropping the 5-3-1-1 and instead going with his first team's 4-3-3. The Reds began pressing forward as Lugo gave them the space and sat back to defend their lead. Osasuna were given a corner kick which the Lugo defenders headed the ball away from danger, but straight to the feet of Marcos Alonso. Alonso then took the risk and shot from outside the box. The ball bounced off one of the many defenders in the box slightly and managed to get past the diving goalkeeper and into the bottom left corner of the net! Osasuna had equalized and were finally looking dangerous. The match wasn't over yet though and Osasuna wanted it to end in their favor. The midfield pressed forward and Julian Luque played Camarasa through on goal, who took a first touch shot into the net and gave his team the lead! It was too late for Lugo to come back, and Osasuna passed to the next round of the Copa Del Rey.

UE Llagostera 1 - 3 CA Osasuna
OSA: Torres 55' PEN 61' Onwu 86'
UEL: Perea 69'
Osasuna visited bottom of the table team Llagostera, who relied on their physicality to compete against Osasuna. Very early in the match, Guillermo received a hard tackle that forced him to leave the field. Once on the sidelines, the team's physio informed him it was only a minor injury, and Guillermo returned to the pitch to continue playing. Osasuna had a tough time getting past Llagostera's physical game and the first half ended 0-0. Once in the second half though, Chavez chose to press forward, leading to a headed goal from Roberto Torres who was able to head the ball without any power but just enough direction to get past the keeper. Six minutes later, Guillermo was taken down in the box with another hard tackle but this time the referee called it as a foul and a penalty as well. Torres stepped up to take it and powered it into the bottom left corner; 2-0. Chavez decided to take Guillermo out of the game as he was already playing injured and the Llagostera players were still very aggressive toward him. Eight minutes later Llagostera's Perea got one back to equalize the match, and now they focused on pushing forward. Osasuna were just barely holding on, which was a surprise for us given both of the team's position on the league table. Onwu, who had came on for Guillermo, was able to strike from a counter attack though and gave his teammates more room to breath with a 3-1 lead, which is how the match ended.

AD Alcorcon 1 - 1 CA Osasuna
OSA: Onwu 59'
ADA: Gonzalez 69'
Next match on the calendar was a visit to Rabbit's Alcorcon who are unfortunately in the bottom end of the league table this season. Osasuna struck first with a goal by Manuel Onwu, playing for the injured Guillermo, but Alcorcon tied the game only 10 minutes later with an incredible passing play inside Osasuna's own box. Osasuna were the better team on the field, but they weren't able to get past Alcorcon's defense who chose to park the bus during the final minutes of the match. Rabbit ordered his players to take the ball to Osasuna's corner flag and shield it there in order to kill the clock. His plan worked, as Osasuna weren't able to get on the ball much anymore and Alcorcon earned a very important point for their battle on the league table.

The former Athletic Bilbao youth graduate earned his first PoTM award this month, as he established himself as a dangerous striker both at his club and in the league. The 21 year old's arrival at the club was initially criticized by a section of the supporters, but they all celebrated his goals nonetheless and Guillermo has proven why Chavez chose him. Guillermo, accustomed to competing against Kike Sola and Aduriz for playing time, handled the pressure from his new competition Manuel Onwu and Ansarifard very well, taking complete ownership of the starting spot. Guillermo's first two months with the squad were tough, but the rest of the league really needs to watch out for this player now that he has adjusted to his new surroundings.


Press Conference

Mr. Chavez, you just barely managed to defeat CD Lugo in the Copa Del Rey but have now drawn Cordoba in the next round. How will you approach your first match against a team from La Liga?

"Hi, good afternoon. We're very much looking forward to the Córdoba match because it will be a good test to judge our future. I feel our players have the right attitude to compete against them, and we want to get as far as we can in the cup so we will be fighting for it with everything we have."

How far are you expecting to get in the cup?

"You always have to have the goal of being champions on your mind. Whether that is possible at all doesn't matter. The attitude is what counts. We want to get as far as we can. As you all know our resources were shrunk after being relegated last season, so we want to tackle this opportunity with everything we have. I see us fighting for promotion in the league, so like I said the cup will be a good test to see exactly where we stand."

Reds On The Rise

Last month Osasuna finished on a negative streak which led the fans and even the board to question Chavez's arrival when the previous manager had left Osasuna as a promotion candidate. Hope has returned to the Basque community of Pamplona, Navarre as the capital's team has risen to 3rd place, only out of an automatic promotion spot on goal difference and only 1 point away from 1st place. Osasuna's 2nd match of November will actually be against the league leaders UD Las Palmas, which is expected to be one of the best matches of the season, as long as Osasuna can keep playing the way they are now. So don't forget to clear your schedule that weekend, because we will have a top of the table clash! The first leg of the Copa Del Rey matchup between Osasuna and Cordoba isn't scheduled until December, so Chavez has enough time to prepare his squad for their biggest challenge yet.


Conclusion
• First and foremost, I have to say I completely underestimated Racing Santander. I initially wanted to make a career with them because they were just promoted from the Spanish third division, and looking at their squad I would have a lot of work to do, but damn they're higher than me on the league table! Not to mention they defeated me last month. Totally unexpected.
• Anyway, the 4-3-3 has worked out much better than the 4-2-3-1 Wide. The wingers are more involved, and having three men in midfield fits my game a lot more. One of the formations I favored with Wimbledon was a 4-1-4-1 similar to the 4-3-3 for that reason. I prefer having a CDM or if I'm using 5 at the back I prefer having the CB push forward like a CDM. Nekounam has done well as a CDM but he pushes forward a little too much for my taste.
• I forgot to check which round of the Copa Del Rey I am on so I apologize for not specifying. It should still be very early though as I've only played 1 match.
• We're nearing the January window so I have began scouting through the GTN. Since my budget is very low right now, I think I have 300k transfer and 32k wages, I will be focusing on pre-contract or Bosman signings, and I'll see if I can swap any of my foreign players out. I have a 700k option to buy for Julian Luque so I want to keep myself from spending too much in case I decide to keep him permanently.
• The B Team didn't get to participate as much this month and some of the players have already stated that they are unhappy, but that should be taken care of next month. The first match of next month is scheduled for the B Team so they'll be fine. I sense a mutiny in some of them. After the draw against Alcorcon one or two of them had the "management is poor" status, which of course offends me. I will see if they're just going through a little fit, or if they really want to go down this road. A dark path it is, they should tread carefully. We'll see if it changes after the B team match.

October was not the best month for Betis,
we had an awful run of form this month
and just could not win games

Game 1 of October was a match with
Celta Vigo which ended in a 2-0 loss for
Real Betis

Game 2 was a home match vs Malaga
This game ended 1-1
this was a defensive masterpiece for
both sides.

Game 3 was a reality check for Betis
as they faced bottom of the table
Granada and lost 1-0
in a game that they were favored in

Game 4 was a goal scoring spectacle for
Betis as the absolutely crush Sevilla
7-1 in the derby

Game 5 was a well fought draw away at
RC Deportivo which ended 1-1
This game really showed what Betis

I was thinking Czech Republic. I was thinking for several reasons.

1. My grandmother was from the old Czechoslovakia
2. Czech Republic borders Germany so it is close geographically to my club
3. They have several solid players, but aren't a power by any means.
4. It is a scoutable country.

Hey no worries, I understand. That said feel free to click through and just see the goals haha, that's really the best part, especially because I know I'll have a few crackers coming in the next 2 episodes. I'll try to make sure the standings are in the episode at the end of each in game month.

Mate, just seen the latest video. Glad to see Jarvis put himself up for a look in. He was mint for me when I did my West Ham career in 13 (didn't post it here). Ridiculously good fee for Maiga considering he won't be playing, but I really look forward to seeing how you fare with AOC in central midfield. Let me know if he drifts laterally often given his RM base position. Do you feel more solid with two top-notch CBs? Nkoulou is a massive upgrade from Tomkins/Collins. Also, I'm looking at Grenier myself. He's available for free next season, and I may just make a move to give myself that bit of depth at CAM.

Agreed with Jarvis, it's funny to see who will step up this season, because obviously with such a big squad and a lot of equally talented depth, we definitely have a ton of depth that can really make a lot of competition for places. Funny you say that about FIFA 13 Jarvis, because I had the same thing with my career that I ran and posted on FIFA 13, I had Lacazette up top with Aubameyang and Jarvis behind him and Jarvis led the league in assists and even was able to get a look and offer from Barcelona of all places haha.

Just in playing the first 3-4 games, I've seen AOC doesn't even necessarily drift out wide all the time in that he really just kinda drifts all over the place (in a good way). He seems to really have a great knack of finding acres of empty space on the pitch so that I can feed him the ball with plenty of space for him to roam forward. That said, he does definitely move out towards the right flank a lot to offer some definite width and pace.

The CB situation is interesting, because Nkoulou is a tank and a no doubt first teamer, but Tomkins and Reid are actually fairly well matched as Tomkins keeps improving and Reid has sort of stagnated in his development, so they both are getting opportunities to prove themselves to stay in the first team. Collins is even playing fantastic and well above his rating to make a case for more playing time.

That's exactly what I saw regarding Grenier as well, so I would love to get him on a free transfer for next season and I could potentially sell Morrison, who has been much like Zarate for me (bags of potential, but incredibly inconsistent). He would really class up my midfield.

@Vrabbit, I became interested in the Argentine league mostly because I've been struggling to keep to a CM, so I came up with an idea. Start alphabetically with the worst team in the league. Which was Argentina and Quilmes. After I win the league whether it be with Quilmes or another team in the Argentine league, I will move on the Australia and so on. Just so i can keep to CM's. Also, August is just finished. Should have an update within the hour.
