Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
I have question for the CM guys here. How many of you really rely on the skill moves. I have been trying to get established with since Fifa 14 but really cannot master them. So I wanted to see how you guys implemented them in your strategy.
I also know I have not updated Man U lately, that because I really gotten into Dagenham. Just to let you know where I am with them. I decided that I would do with Dagenham like I was doing at Lugo make the team completely over with my scouted youth players. I finished season one that saw us win Championship 2 title. We also took the FA Cup a lot of big name clubs went down. In season two we lost a hard fight to Man U (ironically of all teams) in the community shield match. I have brought some decent talent, but I need to get top notch scout. I have good trio in three ordinal players that decided will be a part of team all the to BPL a few seasons down the road. They are Hines, Hemmings, and Chambers.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
November Update
Matchday 10
Hull City V Southampton
1-0
A disappointing loss especially the way we conceded. Mat Ryan runs out for a corner and misjudges it and leaves an open goal for a header however he decided to jump and punch it...INTO HIS OWN NET! I thought well Fraiser Forster you may have just won the battle for number 1 GK!
Matchday 11
Southampton V Leicester
2-0
Two of our three classiest players scored and they were Dustan Tadic and Shane Long who for me is a surprise! Pelle has not yet score but has had many chances. A well played match were we were dominant all over the park.
Matchday 12
Aston Villa V Southampton
1-2
Well what an exciting match. Benteke scores a stunner in the 8th min. Then they did a typical Chelsea and parked the bus. It was so hard to beak through! Off a corner in the 68th min they head it clear and clyne is there to smash it into the net from long range. GAME ON! Then there was time for one final twist in the 90th min where James Ward-Prowse finds a hole shoots straight at Brad Guzan and Brad misses the shot completely! LUCKY!
Matchday 13
Southampton V Manchester City
1-0
Well what game in my opinion. Most of you will think boring but what a game for possession football overs! Keeping possession was key with this match. What really got me was they were playing fast paced possession football where i was playing slow paced possession football. The last 10 mins i turned it up to fast paced and that move payed off with Tadic doing some amazing skill moves to earn a penalty which he slotted home! Finished with a nice 3 points!
LEAGUE TABLE!
1-Spurs
2-Everton
3-Southampton
4-Chelsea
5-Newcastle
6-Man City
7-Man Utd
8-Stoke
9-Burnley

St. Pauli Player of the Month
Rubio Rubin
The man of the hour is none other than Rubio Rubin. He had a hand in both goals in the Deutscher Pokal final victory over Bayern, assisting one and scoring the other. His winner came late in the match as St. Pauli was able to hold off Bayern afterwards for the win.
Press Conference
Q: Congratulations on a wonderful win in the Deutscher Pokal final over Bayern Munich. How are you feeling after winning your first piece of major hardware with St. Pauli?
A: It feels great! This is a wonderful accomplishment, especially for a club who only this season became a top division club. We put in a lot of hard work for this, and it's amazing to see it pay off like this. Bayern is one of the toughest opponents we could have come against, and we had yet to beat them in any competition. There's a first time for everything though, and I am glad that it came in this moment.
Q: You had a chance in your last match to move into the top 6 if you had won by at least 3 goals. Unfortunately you lost 2-1 dropping you down to 8th. Are you disappointed to finish outside of the top 6?
A: Yes, I would say that it is disappointing. We were in position for it for the majority of the season, even sitting as high as 4th at times. To have dropped to 8 was all due to our terrible form over the last 3 months. Consistency will be the key moving forward though, and I know that we will come back better next season.
Q: Even though you missed the Europa League spot, you still qualified through your win in the Duetscher Pokal. How big is it for this club to be playing in European competition next season? And what expectations do you have for the club?
A: I am thrilled that we were able to still find a way in after falling apart in league play. This will certainly be a big challenge, especially with the amount of added fixtures, but we are up for it. I think we will have a good shot at getting out of the group stages, and if we can do that it's really anyone's competition to win at that point.
Kenny: Seriously tough break not being able to finish in the Champions League places, looking at your point total that has to be the highest points on record that a team ever picked up at didn't qualify for the CL so you were absolutely robbed. You should really keep improving though into next season and with Lukaku hopefully staying fit the entire time you'll make your Champions League push successful for sure.
Keano: I agree with the others that you could go to a more defensive formation, but also the instructions could play a huge part if you want to keep that diamond formation. Instruct a couple more players to stay back, or adjusting your team tactics so that your team plays narrower defensively could also help you out. It's funny how a team can also just go through a rough defensive patch which you may be doing now, because for example if you look at my West Ham team with Oxlade-Chamberlain, Delph, Downing, and Noble now taking up the diamond compared to my diamond last year of Noble, Song, Kouyate, and Downing, you'd probably expect us to be more offensive. Whereas we are actually giving up less goals than last year but scoring less. So you may just be going through a rough patch that will straighten itself out with time.Check out my Pitt Panthers Dynasty (NCAA Football 14)

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
I like to use skill moves a lot but I only use a few of them. Those few are stepovers, fake shots, Ronaldo chops, Berba/McGeady spins and the new skill they added in Fifa 15 and the world cup game where the player rolls the ball with his backheels to perform a 90 degree turn.
Usually I use them on the wings to cut in or get past a player but I also use them in the middle to get past a defender or to get space for a good pass or a shot. Stepovers and fake shots are very handy when you're 1 on 1 and running at the defender.-Simppu12-

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Glory Glory Man United
December 2017
Manchester United 4 - 0 Chelsea FC
Vidal 23', Sterling 32', Lacazette 53', Bale 90' pen
"A wonderful performance against our rivals. Everything seemed to go our way and the whole team played well. Everyone concentrated on the game and gave everything on the pitch. Raheem (Sterling) had a very good game and he assisted Vidal's goal."
AC Milan 2 - 1 Manchester United
Valencia 88', El Shaarawy 90'
Bale 80'
"This is unbelievable. All we needed to do was defend for ten minutes and we would've finished first in the group but our defenders forgot why they get payed. On top of everything else it had to be Antonio Valencia who scored. We need to forget this game quickly and concentrate on our round of 16 match-up with Borussia Dortmund."
Manchester United 4 - 1 Fulham FC
Powell 2', 51', Chicharito 40', Bale 81'
McCormack 20'
Simulated.
Manchester City 0 - 3 Manchester United
Bale 18', 65', 73'
"I think we were great in this game. Once again we controlled the game and our opponents failed to score. Gareth (Bale) was unstoppable again. Arjen Robben came back from his injury and he got an assist after coming off the bench which shows that he's still the same good player."
Newcastle United 0 - 1 Manchester United
Lacazette 90'
"The players didn't play well enough today but we got the three points which is the most important thing. Our attacking wasn't good and we lost the ball too often. I'm disappointed but we won and that matters the most."
Manchester United 2 - 0 Tottenham Hotspur
Robben 61', 80'
"I don't understand why we play better against bigger teams. We were bad against Newcastle last week but now we were good again. Arjen (Robben) played the full game and he got a brace and won the game for us."
Player of the Month
Gareth Bale
Believe it or not, Gareth Bale was Man United's best player this month. Again. Does this even surprise anyone?
Hot or Not
Gareth Bale
He scored, he assisted, he was good. Just like every month.
Alexandre Lacazette
Karim Benzema had another bad month and Alexandre Lacazette had to step up from the bench. The younger French attacker scored two important goals, both off the bench.
Arturo Vidal
The Chilean midfielder makes his second appearance in a row after having another good month in the midfield of the Red Devils. Vidal scored the first goal against Chelsea and he controlled the tempo of the game in pretty much every game. He ran, defended, passed and attacked.
Not
Karim Benzema
Karim Benzema has now failed to score in six consecutive games which is a big problem for a player of his calibre. The 30-year-old picked only one assist in December and that's the only impact he had in the whole month.
Sergio Ramos
December is a month Sergio Ramos will want to forget. He defended poorly in many games and he is the reason why AC Milan scored two goals in the last five minutes of the Champions League game.
Nemanja Matic
The big and strong Serbian continues to underperform in his role as a holding midfielder. Matic made a few nice tackles but he also left his man unmarked, didn't stay in position and passed badly.
Champions League Group
1. AC Milan, 14 pts
2. Manchester United, 12 pts
3. Ajax, 7 pts
4. Bröndby, 1 pt
Barclays Premier League
1. Manchester United, 54 pts
2. Chelsea FC, 46 pts
3. Tottenham Hotspur, 37 pts

Simp: A very disappointing result against Milan. When Bale scored that goal in the 80' you must've thought you had the game, and the group, won. But Valencia got his revenge and then the goal just 2 minutes later in the last minute must have really annoyed you to say the least. Winning all your games in the league was very good though. That 4-0 win against Chelsea must've been the highlight. I'm looking forward to seeing who you bring in next month. I'm guessing a CDM unless you give Malanda the starting spot.Comment

Premier League
Matchday 1
Stoke City 1-1 Arsenal
68' Sanchez (PEN)
78' N'Zonzi (Diouf)
The first game in the Barclays Premier League was Stoke-Arsenal. It was also the debut game for the new coach of the Gooners, Thomas Cruzerr. The game was rather one-sided, as Arsenal kept the ball and created a lot of chances. The first goal came from a penalty, as Wilshere got taken down in the box by Huth. Huth was then awarded a red-card.
Sanchez stepped up to take it and shot it just over Begovic to take the lead. However, 10 minutes later, the home team in Britannia managed to tie the game up. Diouf managed to cross the ball in over Debuchy and the man running into the box, Steven N'Zonzi, made sure to header that in. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, a result Stoke could be happy with, yet the Arsenal fans - not.
Premier League
Matchday 2
Arsenal 2-1 West Ham United
45' Nolan (Cresswell)
65' Ramsey (McCarthy)
80' Ramsey (Cazorla)
The first game for Arsenal at the Emirates came up against the tough West Ham and Big Sam. Coming off from the tie at Britannia, Arsenal and Cruzerr had everything to prove. The game started rather one-sided, as West Ham were dominating on possession, yet couldn't actually get any shots off. Arsenal played for the counter-attack, but they were unlucky aswell, as shots from Sanchez and Welbeck went wide.
West Ham managed to take the lead just before half-time, as a cross into the box by Cresswell was won by the captain Kevin Nolan. Arsenal had a lot to think about going into half-time.
Second half, rookie coach Cruzerr made a few changes to the team, and they worked. Arsenal was playing better passing football and getting better chances. As the ball fell into Özil on the left wing, he quickly passed it to McCarthy. He turned infront of the goal and gave a through pass to Aaron Ramsay, who tucked it away. Things were looking up and the Gunners did not stop there, as some good skill by Cazorla got him into the box. He gave the pass to Ramsay, who turned around Collins and scored. Adrian did a poor job, as the ball rolled between his legs. A bit of luck was needed, but Arsenal won their first home game and first game of the season, 2-1.
Premier League
Matchday 3
Sunderland 1-5 Arsenal
28' Welbeck (Özil)
45' Sanchez (Özil)
48' Welbeck (Wilshere)
59' Özil (Oxlade-Chamberlain)
69' Larsson (Fletcher)
70' Sanchez (Wilshere)
The third game of the season, second game away and last game of September was against Sundeland at the Stadium of Light. After coming off a good win, most critics were still sceptical on how Arsenal play away from home. However, the Gunners were keen on showing the critics that they were wrong.
The first goal came in just in the middle of the first half, as some good passing between Özil and Welbeck leaves Welbeck one-on-one with the keeper, and he made sure that he would put it away. Arsenal did not stop there, as just before the end of the first half, Özil played a great ball over the defenders and infront of Sanchez, who also had a clear path on goal.
While most Sunderland fans were hoping that their team would bounce back in the second half, Danny Welbeck put those dreams to rest, as Wilshere dribbled into the box and passed it infront of goal - Welbeck only had to tap it in. Sunderland were getting man-handled, it seemed like there was only one team in it to win it. The forth goal came 10 minutes later, as the substitute player, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, gave the pass to Özil. The first shot got saved, but it bounced infront of him and he tapped it in. Clark did manage to clear it off the line, yet later it was shown on the goal line technology that it was a goal.
Sunderland did however score, as some scrappy play in the box got them the ball, Fletcher crossed it in right onto Larsson who put it away. That was the third goal Arsenal had conceded this month, all headers from crosses. Yet it did not matter much, as Sanchez put the game to bed with some nice dribbling and a good shot. A very poor game by Pantilimon gave Arsenal the 5-1 victory.
Capital One Cup
Rotherham United 1-0 Arsenal
70' Derbyshire
The first game of November and just before the International break was a Capital One cup fixture between Rotherham United and Arsenal. With Arsenal being the heavy favorites, Cruzerr had fielded most of the youngster, to get an idea about who could he use in the first team aswell.
It did not pay off, as Rotherham was the one who advanced in the cup - a mixup in the box got Derbyshire open, who managed to score it. The game ended 1-0, with Arsenal already out of one titlerace.
Premier League
Matchday 4
Arsenal 2-2 Crystal Palace
35' Germain (Boateng)
45' Giroud (Coquelin)
50' Podolski (PEN)
55' Germain (Bannan)
After the disappointing loss against Rotherham, Arsenal returned home to face Crystal Palace, which is one of the more interesting matchups - Pardew vs Cruzerr.
While the game itself started rather one-sided, it was the visiting team who took the lead, as a strong ground pass into the box by Boateng was hit in by Germain, who slid for it. Yet just before half time, Coquelin won the ball from Delaney and gave a pass to Giroud, who, 1-on-1 with the keeper, made sure to tuck that one in.
Second half things looked up for Arsenal yet again, as another mistake by Delaney gives Arsenal a penalty - he tackled Özil pretty roughly. Up stepped Podolski to take it and he made sure to put it away and give the Gunners a lead. It was not for long, though. Another great cross into the box was missed by two Arsenal defenders, leaving Germain open and letting him head the ball in with ease. Arsenal tried to get the lead again while Palace sat in defence - they came close, as McCarthy struck the post a minute before the end, yet they could not regain the lead. The final score was 2-2.
Champions League
Group Stage
Matchday 1
Arsenal 2-2 Fenerbache
35' Welbeck (Cazorla)
45' Welbeck (Silva)
45' Sow (Topal)
57' Potuk
The first Champions League game for Arsenal was at the Emirates against Fenerbache. The groupd is going to be difficult, as Arsenal have to face Fenerbache, PSG and Celtic twice. Yet things started well for the Gunners in the first half. Some lovely skill by Cazorla got him free in the box and a clear path to pass to Welbeck, who scored it gracefully. And he wasn't done there, as he added another one - quite similar, only this time it was Silva, who won the ball, got on a counter and passed it to Welbeck.
Fenerbache came back strong though, they replied instantly with a great over the top chip by Topal leaving Sow open in the box and scoring it. Their second goal was a rather lucky one, as a tackle by Gibbs makes Emenike miss the ball, yet it bounced right infront of Potuk, who smashed it in. Another 2-2 game at the home stadium - the Gooners did not look happy.
Premier League
Matchday 5
Leicester City 1-2 Arsenal
31' Cambiasso
60' Welbeck
89' Welbeck
Going to be completely honest over here, I wrote the text down but I somehow did not save it, so I can't really remember what happened. I do have the scorers, all I remember is that we played poorly and then out of the blue, Welbeck scored 2 and we won. Lucky as hell.
Premier League
Matchday 6
Arsenal 2-1 Tottenham Hotspurs
41' Welbeck (Walcott)
45' Soldado (PEN)
89' Özil (Sanchez)
Probably one of the bigger games of the month, as the Gunners faced their rivals at home. While it was the first derby for Cruzerr, it was also a big day due to the return of the fan favorite - Theo Walcott.
Arsenal dominated early, yet couldn't score. Everybody felt the goal in the air and it was just a matter of time. A bit before half-time, Walcott got onto a counter and passed it to Welbeck, who got past his defender and gave Arsenal the lead. However, it wasn't for long. Tottenham got their first shot on target, when Moreno took down Eriksen in the box. Up came Soldado to take it and he scored it.
The home team was not done and they kept on putting pressure to the Spurs. It took a lot of time and a miracle, yet some good passing inside the box just before the end of the game got Özil open and gave him a goal. They might have left it late, but Arsenal managed to get the 2-1 victory.
Champions League
Group Stage
Matchday 2
Celtic 1-2 Arsenal
43' Commons (Johansen)
57' Özil (Sanchez)
69' Welbeck
Second game in Champions League and the Gunners went away to Scotland to face the Scottish champions, Celtic. It started rather difficult for the visitors, as the men in white and green held the ball and created all of the chances during the first half. It took time to break through, yet just before half-time, Commons got himself open in the box and put it in the net.
Arsenal regained their usual playstyle in the second half, as Cruzerr put on Özil to create goals. A good pass by Sanchez and good movement by Welbeck left Özil a completely open lane to the goal, which he managed to make full use of and tie the game. Welbeck got his chance aswell, as some mistakes in the defense of Celtic gave him the ball in the box and an easy shot to finish.
While it looked bad at the start, Arsenal managed to pull the game back and get the 2-1 victory, a score which is very popular among the recent games that the Gunners have had.
Premier League
Matchday 7
Leeds United 1-1 Arsenal
45' Sharp (PEN)
61' Welbeck (Chambers)
The first new team that Arsenal had to face this season - Leeds United, away. Everybody knew who were the heavy favorites going into the international break, so everybody figured that Arsenal should take it with ease. However, the first goal was scored by Leeds, as Chambers took a player down in the box and gave them the penalty. Sharp made no mistake and banged it in.
Second half, Chambers did managed to make up for his mistake, as his pass into the middle of the box was met up by Welbeck, who slid for it and scored it. The game ended 1-1, not a result that Arsenal should have gotten, yet probably a deserved one, considering how the game went.
Premier League
Matchday 8
Arsenal 2-0 Liverpool
59' Welbeck (Özil)
80' Welbeck (Oxlade-Chamberlain)
The toughest opponent Arsenal has had to face so far, as they went home to face Liverpool. Not much can be said about the first half - it was rather boring and only two shots were taken, both of them by Liverpool and both of them missed wide. During the second half, the Gunners got their game going, showing their usual great passing. After earning a free-kick from the edge of the box, it was Özil, who passed the ball to Welbeck. He smashed it from right outside the box to the top right corner - Emirates erupted.
A few minutes later, Danny got on a counter attack to score his second, but he sadly managed to hit the post. Yet his chance came again, as a pass from the Ox and a good fake shot to go past Lovren got him 1-on-1 with Mignolet and he made sure not to miss it. The fans were happy after the 2-0 victory, mainly because it showed that Arsenal can play against big teams again.
Champions League
Group Stage
Matchday 3
Arsenal 3-1 PSG
12' Sanchez (Debuchy)
20' Ibrahimovic (PEN)
22' Welbeck (Özil)
70' David Luiz (OG)
Arsenal had to stay home for their third Champions League match, against the reigning champions of Ligue 1, PSG. While most of the games that Arsenal has had this season have started slowly - not this one. It took a bit over 10 minutes to score, as Sanchez broke through and ran past the defense and scored, with a great chip over Sirigu. However, things went downhill from there. A few minutes later, Mertesacker took Cabaye down in the box and PSG got a penalty - Mertesacker was sent off. Up stepped the Swedish giant, Ibrahimovic, who shot it straight down the middle past Szczesny.
10 men Arsenal did not fear, as they went on an attack of their own. Özil played a great chip pass over the defense and towards Welbeck, who volleyed it right past the goalkeeper. The game was tight, but even with 10 men, the Gunners looked to be the better side. Their third goal came from a shot by Özil, which was well saved by Sirigu, yet it bounced right to the feet of David Luiz, causing an own-goal. The final score was 3-1, with Arsenal being the top of their group in CL.
Premier League
Matchday 9
Manchester United 0-2 Arsenal
36' Wilshere
61' Welbeck (Özil)
It seemed like there was going to be one hard game after another, as now, the Gunners went to Old Trafford to face Manchester United. With all the momentum Arsenal had from all the previous games, they were the first ones to score, as a shot by Özil gets saved, yet the ball bounces infront of Wilshere for an easy tap-in. United got on a counter of their own, but Di Maria managed to hit the crossbar.
Manchester did have chances to tie the game up, but they did not take them - Rooney even missed the open net. But it was all deja vu, as Özil again chipped over the defense towards Welbeck, who put it in superbly. The final score was 2-0, a great victory for the new look Gunners.
Premier League
Matchday 10
Arsenal 2-0 Cardiff City
22' Giroud (Moreno)
36' Giroud (McCarthy)
The last game of the month was against Cardiff - a game which everybody expected a win, coming off from recent performances. Which is probably the reason why Cruzerr went with a completely new lineup. The first goal came pretty quick, as Moreno won a header, passed it to Giroud, who went past the defense and slammed it home.
He was not done there, as he scored another one - rather similar, only this time, it was McCarthy with the through pass. The game ended 2-0,a great ending to a even greater month for the Gunners.
Barclays Premier League Table
Champions League Table
Right, now that I look at it, it looks like it is really long - I'll make the next one 1 month, instead of 3 months, lol.
I hope you still enjoyed it though!Comment

That 4-0 win against Chelsea must've been the highlight. I'm looking forward to seeing who you bring in next month. I'm guessing a CDM unless you give Malanda the starting spot.vrabbit

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
I was out of town this weekend so I haven't been able to play or read much on here. I've been catching up though, but I just wanted to partake on the defending question.
When I use 4 at the back, I try to mark by zone rather than man mark. So, if there's a guy running down the middle and you're pressuring him with a CDM, but he starts to drift wide towards the sidelines, stop pressuring with the CDM. Switch to a full back and make the full back push forward to mark and let the CDM return to his position. If the full back already has a mark, then switch to the wide midfielder, who should have came back to defend by now. Chasing a player with an out of position defender will make your players unorganized and vulnerable to easy through passes. If your CDM was already out of position and they beat him one on one, leaving the striker alone against the two centre backs, don't sprint towards him. Don't rush it, especially with your centre backs, wait for him to come to you but at the same time jockey towards him in case he tries a long shot. Sprinting towards him will make it easier for him to dribble past you. Once he gets close, begin to shadow him and wait for the tackle. Your centre backs should never be out of position. That's all that comes to mind right now hope it helps!
For skill moves, I think I mainly use step overs to change direction and also fake shots here and there. Sprinting with the ball and then using close dribble also gets rid of defenders. With Ramirez this became very easy. I'll sprint, close dribble, then sprint again. The quick change of pace usually makes the defender make an early tackle that either results in a foul or leaves me with the wing all to myself.
Sportsfreak I like seeing you've been using B teams with Monaco. Let me know how it's been working out for you!Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Villarreal actually eliminated them from the cup. I was crossing my fingers I wouldn't have to face them because I know how tough they are when you face them lol I think I was actually more worried about possibly having to face Bilbao than I was about facing Barcelona haha
Really looking forward to this! I was originally going to start a Valencia CM myself before deciding to go to Liga Adelante instead. My teams: Cowboys, Knicks, Braves, Arsenal FC, Nittany Lions
