Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

    Dagenham '18-19 Season
    April Update

F.A. Cup - Quarter Finals, REPLAY
    Chelsea - Dagenham (3-0)
    Demir 11'
    Oscae 27'
    Demir 62'

Recap: Both teams saved their first squads for their game against each other the very next day in Champions League action, so this game simply confirmed that Chelsea's depth (the Starting XI they put out wouldn't finish in relegation) is far superior than Dagenham's. The Daggers' youngsters tried their best but were clearly outmatched and Paez's squad ends up bowing out of both local cups at the same stage.

Champions League - Quarter Finals, 1st Leg
    Chelsea - Dagenham (0-3)
    Locadia 51' (Victor Andrade)
    Locadia 56' (Landa)
    Kim 65'

Recap: Looky here looky here, how quickly things change. After a tightly-contested first half it were the Daggers who earned a 3-0 victory in this one thanks to timely and clutch goals from Jurgen Locadia followed by this hard-earned goal from Kim

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/AccTaDuHyMY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    League Match 29
    Southampton - Dagenham (1-2)
    Caseres 23' (P)
    Caseres 28' (P)

    Austin 66'

Recap: The B squad was called upon once again for this one and even though they have struggled as of late to score they pull of this road win thanks to a pair of perfectly executed PK's by Caseres (one to his left, one to his right). Considered a double victory since the A squad was able to rest for the next game vs Chelsea.

Champions League - Quarter Finals, 2nd Leg
    Dagenham - Chelsea (1-3, 4-3 agg)
    Van Aanholt 37'
    Locadia 47' (Kim)
    Demir 60'
    Mikel 77'

Recap: The Daggers are creating a horrible habit of flirting with elimination (they were also on the bring of it against Porto) but they manage to eliminate the Blues after a wacky game. Van Aanholt got the scoring started with a perfect shot from 35 yards out off a deflection but Dagenham was able to keep the game in control for the rest of the first half. Then at the beginning of the second half Kim and Locadia got together for this:

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/8MXeD9hXGRA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

And just when you thought that all but sealed the deal Demir put Chelsea back on the board by sifting through the Daggers' defense, then with about 15 minutes left to play Mikel also scored for Chelsea after a serious of reflections. Suddenly Chelsea needed just one more goal to advance on away goals; but Dagenham had been doing an outstanding job of keeping possession, and they made an even bigger effort during the final moments of the game ending with 63% possession and completing an astonishing upset.

    League Match 30
    Dagenham - Aston Villa (4-0)
    Locadia 3' (Reyna)
    Locadia 15' (Kim)
    Vilna 23' (Locadia)
    Klok 78' (Jones)

Recap: Dagenham is officially on fire and their form is coinciding with Jurgen Locadia playing his best soccer this season. The Daggers had been hard to figure out for most of the season but if Locadia can keep up form to complement what Victor Andrade has been doing this season then this team could really pull off a few surprises.

    League Match 31
    Arsenal - Dagenham (1-2)
    Locadia 41'
    Kondogbia 64'
    Wilkinson 67' (Toral)

Recap: Going into this game the Gunners and Daggers sat in 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the standings but thanks to their ability to carry on with their winning streak Dagenham jumps ahead of Arsenal. It was a game as tense as the score indicates, with Locadia putting the visitors ahead before the half and Kondogbia finally equalizing the game for the Gunners who had been letting it all out in their attempt to equalize the game. But shortly after, a corner kick from Toral found the Daggers' captain on a header in the box that hit a side post before going in, leaving Arsenal's goalkeeper hopeless and going on to become the difference-making goal.

Champions League - Semi Finals, 1st Leg
    Dagenham - Real Madrid (4-1)
    Sarr 10' (Vilna)
    Reyna 30' (Victor Andrade)
    Vilna 45' (Jones)
    Locadia 63' (Jones)

    Cristiano Ronaldo 89'

Recap: If you needed any confirmation that Dagenham is EN FUEGO this should do it for ya. A game many thought would mark the beginning of the end for the Daggers' Cinderella-ish run in this competition turned into a festival for the hosts who slowly but surely jumped out to a 4-goal lead before CR7 scored what may prove out to be a very important away goal for the Merengues. Dagenham has previously jumped out to early leads vs Porto (4-2) and Chelsea (3-0) before ending up advancing by the smallest of margins (6-5 and 4-3 respectively) in games where they prayed for the final whistle to come. Will they be able to calmly put away Ancelotti's team in Spain or will they once again flirt with (and perhaps succumb to) elimination?

    League Match 32
    Dagenham - Newcastle (3-0)
    Locadia 25' (Victor Andrade)
    Victor Andrade 29' (Locadia)
    Reyna 85' (Kim)

Recap: An excellent win to continue a very hot streak actually became somewhat of a somber day for the Daggers as LCB Marian Sarr suffered a broken ankle about 20 minutes into the game that will sideline him for the rest of the season. Sarr and Wilkinson have been an integral part of Dagenham's hot streak and it'll be interested to see whether Paez's squad can go on without missing a beat.

    English Premier League - Standings
    1. Chelsea - 69pts
    2. Dagenham - 63pts
    3. Arsenal - 62pts
    4. Manchester Utd - 58pts
    5. Liverpool - 56pts

    6. Aston Villa - 55pts
    7. Tottenham - 54pts
    ...
    18. Crystal Palace - 24pts
    19. QPR - 23pts
    20. Swansea City - 23pts

The same team that was severely outplayed/swept by not just Fulham but also Sunderland is now just 7 points away from becoming the league leader. Amazing, isn't? What's even better? DAGENHAM AT CHELSEA IS THE LAST GAME OF THE SEASON, so if the Daggers are able to keep the pressure on and Chelsea misses out on some points we could be looking at a league-final type of game in late May. Dagenham would need to be at least within 2 points of Chelsea though as the Blues have a far superior goal differential (+39 to +22). Still, the fact that Dagenham is this close to a possible league title after the up and down season they have had is quite an accomplishment. That's without mentioning their amazing run in the Champions League where after putting away Chelsea they shocked the world with a convincing 4-1 victory and will go for a trip to the final in their first game of May (Atletico Madrid and Barca are battling on the other side). So Dagenham is alive for an European double while Chelsea is aiming for a domestic treble (they won the Capital One Cup and face Tottenham in the F.A. Cup final).

Locadia's outstanding month makes him jump ahead of V.A. in the league scoring table as the Dutch now has 13 goals to the Brazilian's 12. Southampton's Austin managed to jump all the way to the top of the table by raising his goal total to 18, an effort that help him earn Player of the Month honors (over an also deserving Locadia). V.A. continues to lead the league in assists with 12 while Nicola Leali has raised his clean sheets total to 8, good to be tied for 4th best in the PL but still only half as many as Courtois, the league's best. In Champions League, Atletico's Jovetic leads all scorers with 8 goals but Locadia and CR7 trail closely with 7 goals each. V.A. also leads this competition in assists with 7, while Lealie is tied for the most clean sheets with Barca's De Gea each of them with 5.

The calendar reaching May means the final evaluations have been handed in from the academy so let's take a look at how the youth squad looks:
    • Pavel Vrhovec (CF, 65-69 (+8) OVR, 87-93 POT): 17-year old from Croatia has now been confirmed as the top prospect in the academy. He would be no better than the 5th striker on the team right now so the board and coach are trying to figure out whether it's better to hold off on promoting him.
    • Sean Foran (LM, 66-70 (+4), 83-89): 16-year old from Ireland has now been on hard for 2 final reports from the academy and you have to wonder whether he'll be happy staying in it for another full season.
    • Victor Soriano (GK, 61-65 (+1), 83-89): While the 15-year old from Venezuela joined the academy being highly rated he did not show a lot of improvement this season so it'll be important for him to grow his game a lot in the upcoming season.
    • Franco Gomez (CAM, 65-69 (+14), 80-86): One of the most improved players is this 16-year old shorty from Venezuela whose promise makes up for his size (5'5"). Described as a playmaker.
    • Esteban Navarro (CM, 61-65 (+11), 80-86): 16-year old from Venezuela also described as a playmaker. His skillset may not necessarily be a good fit for the diamond but he surprised coaches with his vast improvement/
    • Damiano Janse (CB, 61-65 (+18), 79-85): 16-year old from Netherlands earns the title of "Most Improved". He'll actually be tried at CDM since his stature (5'11") isn't ideal for a CB.
    • Fabrice Mengual (RM, 58-62 (+2) 78-84): 17-year old playmaker from France who actually projects as more of a CAM. He's a candidate to be promoted soon since he may not progress a whole lot more in the academy.
    • Matthieu Maupay (CAM, 61-65 (+4), 74-80): 16-year old from France described as an attacker who would benefit from another full season in the academy.
    • Rodrigo Marquez (RB, 53-63 (+10), 73-85): 16-year old from Venezuela who will be played at CB due to no speed and a solid frame of 6'3", 178lbs.
    • Victor Soriano (CF, 52-58, 71-79): 16-year old from Venezuela is the second prospect from the country in our academy with that name and last name. Unfortunately as a late newcomer to the academy he was not evaluated for progress.
    • Stef Gilissen (CB, 52-56 (+14), 74-80): 16-year old from Netherlands who has settled to play at CB. Physically strong.
    • Ciaran Kavanagh (CM, 59-63 (+1), 72-78): 16-year old from Ireland who also projects as a technically-gifted CAM.
    • Siem Reijnen (CB, 50-54 (+9), 73-77): 16-year old from the Netherlands described as physically strong.
    • Pablo Ruiz (CF, 49-57 (+11), 66-78): 16-year old from Venezuela possessing outstanding physical tools (6'4", 178lbs, physically strong). The team is hoping to develop his skills enough to make him a contributor

    * Denotes recent addition to the academy.

    Opponents in May:

5/1 - Real Madrid (Champions League)
    5/4 - Liverpool
5/7 - West Ham (East London Derby)
    5/11 - Manchester United
    5/14 - QPR
    5/18 - Everton
    5/26 - Chelsea

Jikes, that doesn't look like the easiest of the months for the Daggers. Can they keep up form after losing Sarr to injury? Will they be able to go into the final league game of the season with a chance to win the Premier League? Will they reach the Champions League final? Can they possibly win an European double? I don't know, but I bet you're going to want to read the End of the Season Update!

    STAY TUNED!

What a month! You and Chelsea have quite the rivalry going, and it could shape up to have even more drama with that last match of the season being against them. And what a thumping you put on Real too! You are working through the Champions league really well right now. I really liked that goal with the link up play between Kim and Locadia. This last month is going to be intense.

        The Monkey Hangers
        Road to Glory
        Season 1

        November 2014

        Nov 1st
        Sky Bet League 2
        Match 16
        AFC Wimbledon 0-1 Hartlepool

        James 78' (Hawkins)

        MotM: Stuart Parnaby

Due to having to play Shrewsbury in 2 days time we had to field a slightly different team. We went with a 4-4-2 narrow diamond to keep our wide players fresh. It was a tough midfield battle that we just edged. Stuart Parnaby, usually a RB, was outstanding in the CDM position today. Young man Lewis Hawkins got a rare start and did well in the CAM role providing the assist for Luke James' 12th league goal of the season.

        Nov 3rd
        Sky Bet League 2
        Match 17
        Hartlepool 2-0 Shrewsbury

        Woods 53' (Compton)
        Compton 66' (Walker)

        MotM: Jack Compton

We came up against one of our title contenders today who are currently sitting in 3rd place. It was not our strongest side due to fatigue. 2 corners was all it took to beat the tough Shrewsbury side however. We dominated the game peppering their goal with shots. Donnelly and Franks were denied before a Jack Compton corner was met by Woods in the centre of the box. He guided it into the corner past Leutwiler. Compton then got on the receiving end of a Brad Walker corner from the opposite side. He beat Rebolledo in the air to head in at the near post. Leutwiler saved a Donnelly penalty late on after James was brought down. Akpa Akpro missed Shrewsbury's only real chance of the game shooting wide on 80'.

        Nov 9th
        FA Cup
        Round 1

        Hartlepool 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

        MotM: Ross Worner

The main talking point of this game was when Luke James was stretched off with a Broken Ankle in the 63rd minute. He probably had the best chance of the game hitting the post from the edge of the area just 10 minutes before his injury. Brad Walker had a chance to snatch the win at the death but MOTM Ross Worner was equal to it.

Luke James is out for 3 months with a Broken Ankle.

        Nov 11th
        J. Paint Trophy
        Area Quarter Final

        Hartlepool 2-0 Luton Town

        Hawkins 7'
        Donnelly 37' (Hawkins)

        MotM: Tommy Miller

With a fatigued squad I just about fielded a fresh starting XI mostly of fringe players. We caught a break 7 minutes in when Harewood charged down and blocked Tyler, the Luton keeper, as he was attempting to clear the ball. Hawkins was alert and steered in the rebound. Harewood managed to get the ball to Hawkins before being taken out by Smith. Advantage was played and Hawkins gave a first time ball into the path of Donnelly. He beat Wilkinson for pace and stuck it low and hard past Tyler. Donnelly then hit the post in the 68th looking for his second. And that was that, a comfortable 2-0 home win.

        Nov 15th
        Sky Bet League 2
        Match 18
        Mansfield Town 1-0 Hartlepool

        Drennan 41'

        MotM: Simon Heslop

Jonathan Franks was put up top with Harewood as Donnelly was away on international duty. The only goal of the game came from Drennan in the 41st minute. Heslop got away from Compton and Holden on the left and came into the box before drilling it across the face of the goal. Drennan had gotten in between Bates and Laing and poked the ball in with his left foot off the left post. Woods forced a save late on but we slumped to our second defeat of the league in an under par performance.

        Nov 22nd
        Sky Bet League 2
        Match 19
        Hartlepool 1-1 Dagenham

        Murphy 5'
        Donnelly 67' (Pen)

        MotM: Tommy Miller

Harewood made our striker problems worse going down with a bruised shoulder early in the game. We were playing a completely different line up today because the FA Cup replay was coming up in 2 days. Murphy scored with a volley after being left completely unmarked in the box. Batt's tackle on Hawkins earned him a red and gifted Donnelly a goal from the spot. We applied pressure on Cousins' goal but it finished 1-1. 14 shots and 10 on target for us while Dagenham ha only 3 & 1. That really shows how dominant we were.

Marvin Harewood is out for 5 days with a Bruised Elbow.

        Nov 25th
        FA Cup
        Round 1 Replay

        AFC Wimbledon 1-2 Hartlepool

        Donnelly 22' (Pen)
        Akinfenwa 55'
        Franks 58' (Reed)

        MotM: Jonathan Franks

The first game ended 0-0 with both defences being on top of the opposing attackers. Amazingly Wimbledon lost their discipline not once but twice inside the opening 30 minutes. Harry Pell and George Francomb both received their marching orders in the 19th and 22nd minutes. The second resulting in a penalty that was converted by Donnelly. We bossed the game from then on but couldn't score another. Akinfenwa gave the Wombles a lifeline with his effort from inside the area. Franks responded 3 minutes later turning inside and shooting early low past Worner. Some terrible news right at the death was Donnelly falling awkwardly on his leg after thundering a header off the crossbar.

Rory Donnelly will be out for 4 months while he is recovering from his Medial Collateral Ligament injury. With Luke James also out for 3 months this is a big blow as 35 year old Marvin Harewood is the only other natural striker in the squad.

        Nov 29th
        Match 20
        Sky Bet League 2
        Exeter City 1-3 Hartlepool

        Harewood 29'
        Sercombe 57'
        Compton 74' (Miller)
        Compton 78' (Smith)

        MotM: Jack Compton

Due to a lack of strikers and wide players a 4-3-2-1 was tried with 3 CMs and 2 forwards tucked in behind a lone striker. It worked well and we walked away with a 3-1 victory. Harewood used his strength and heading ability to knock in a rebound off a Miller shot. Cabee's boys got an equalizer through Sercombe when he curled around Flinders on 57 minutes. Miller assisted Compton, who enjoyed his role in behind the striker, for the lead before he added a second following a Smith back heel through the legs of Baldwin. Bennett's frustration got him a second yellow and ultimately a red card in the dying seconds.

        Hartlepool Player of the Month

        Jack Compton - LM, 6 Ovr (+), 2 ,England

Jack had a really good month impressing wherever he played on the pitch. He chipped in with 3 goals and 1 assist this month and will become one of our main players now with James and Donnelly both sidelined.

I need to get back on here to catch up. That should happen tomorrow after I go in for one final scan on my Achilles (looks about 60% healed as of now, so I can get back to moving about without these crutches).

Also, would you guys mind if I did a really long but really simple update for the months between November and the end of the season? Really can't bring myself to go with the usual format after so many games.

            Games

            Bundesliga
            Matchday 19
VfB Stuttgart 2-1 1. FC Köln

            41' Gruezo (Peszko)
            62' Didavi
            69' Drmic (Romeu)

So, since the text got deleted when my computer bluescreened, I will just give you a small summary. Basically, I was really excited to play this game, to see if Drmic and Böetius play better and to see how Gruezo play against us. So, just before the half, Köln took the lead, as our own man Gruezo hit a volley straight from a corner.

Second half however, we took the lead back, as Didavi scored a screamer outside of the box and Drmic got into the box and scored aswell. A 2-1 victory was a great way to start the month

            MOTM: Josip Drmic

            Bundesliga
            Matchday 20
            FC Bayern 2-2 VfB Stuttgart

            50' Agüero (Lahm)
            70' Maxim (FK)
            79' Drmic
            85' Thiago (Agüero)

The biggest game of the month was our second game against Bayern. I was pretty scared to face them, as they bought Agüero, who is a difference maker.

The game started similar to the first one, with them pressuring us and we trying to hold on and not concide. Their attack was giving us a headache, but we did well in the first half. Second half however, a cross in by Lahm was headered by Agüero. I told the guys to go attack and try equalize, no point of playing for damage control. Then, as Leitner got taken down at the side of the box, we earned a free-kick, which was hammered by Maxim. It was absolutely fantastic.

But we were not done. Bayern had the same idea, they wanted the win. Because of that they sent too many men upfront, so when we caught them in the counter, Drmic was gone with the ball and he finished it beautifully past Neuer. I couldn't believe it, we had taken the lead against the biggest team in Germany.

We went ultra defensive to hold the lead, yet some great dribbling by Agüero, got him to the box and he passed it to Thiago. Thiago then took a shot which went through Ulreichs leg and into the net. Sadly, that was the game. However, I was happy of how the team played over a long time.

            Bundesliga
            Matchday 21
            VfB Stuttgart 1-0 TSG Hoffenheim

            7' Herrmann (Maxim)

After the soild game against Bayern, we went up against Hoffenheim, a team we drew against earlier on this season. With Drmic as our new striker, I really wanted us to attack quicker and be a counter attacking team, instead of the target-man style that we had with Ibisevic. And it paid off early, since we got on a good attack. Drmic and Maxim passed the ball between eachother, and it resulted with Maxim passing it to Herrmann who struck it to the bottom left corner.

We were playing some great football, but so was Hoffenheim. They struck the post twice and Firmino hit a great free-kick right to the bar. While I thought they could pull one back, it never happened, so a one goal win was ours.

            MOTM: Alexandru Maxim

            Bundesliga
            Matchday 22
            Borussia Dortmund 3-2 VfB Stuttgart

            20' Immobile (Mkhitaryan)
            32' Mkhitaryan (Kehl)
            40' Drmic (Leitner)
            61' Mkhitaryan
            90' Maxim (PEN)

Doing well so far, we went back home to face a team that beat us earlier and we wanted revenge against: Borussia Dortmund. But they were the first ones to strike, as Mkhitaryan got past the defense and passed it to Immobile to hit it in a open net.

We looked good, but we were up against their great. A few minutes later, Reus puts a cross into the box, which Schwaab manages to clear, but Kehl wins it back, passes it to Mkhitaryan, who smashes it in the bottom corner. Being down by two was not good, but we luckily managed to get one back just before half-time, as Leitner passed it to Drmic. Josip smashed it outside of the box straight to the top corner.

That gave us momentum to go and score again in the second half, yet it was Mkhitaryan who punished us again, very similar to the first goal, as he curved it outside of the box and put it in. We went attacking again and tried to get back into it. Their defense was on point, until the end of the game, as Drmic got taken down in the box and we earned a penalty. Maxim stepped up and scored it, but it was not enough to get back into the game. A good game for the neutrals to watch, but not the greatest game for us.

            Bundesliga
            Matchday 23
            VfB Stuttgart 0-2 Hannover 96

            10' Uche (Prib)
            81' Pander (FK)

Last game of the month was going against Hannover, and after the loss against Dortmund, I wanted us to get the win. However, I did feel confident, so I fielded most of the bench players so they could get some action. Yet, when Prib went through our defense and passed it to Uche, who took a fantastic shot and scored, I realised that I might have made a mistake.

The shot was good, true, but he shouldn't have been open in the first place and I think Ulreich should have done a better job - atleast jumped for the ball, he just stood there.

First time in the whole month I felt that we were not playing well. We were not great attacking wise and neither were we defensively - Hannover was getting too many free kicks for my liking. I figured that Pander scored against us last time from a free kick and I was hoping it wouldn't happen again - it did. Outside the box, stunning shot, keeper had no chance. A 2-0 loss and a second loss in the row to cap off the month.

A very good month but terrible luck with the injuries. The league table is looking good for you and you're doing well in the cup. Sunderland will be a challenge but you can get past them.

Pretty much a perfect month! You are basically through to the final of the Champions League so congrats on that! Good to see you beat Chelsea a few times. Now we'll hope for the best and wait for Chelsea to drop some points. You still did a fantastic job turning around the terrible start you had.

Some of those games were really good (like the Bayern and Hoffenheim one) but the loss against Hannover wasn't that good. It's good to see that Drmic is doind well for you! Oh, and Hertha are fifteenth. I guess the game isn't that unrealistic after all...

I will be going on a small trip during the weekend so I won't be here commenting or posting for the next few days. Heartbreaking, I know. And if you're wondering what's my destination, it's Berlin. And the Olympiastadion on Saturday. Yay.

So, I have some good news, some great news and some bad news.

Good news, I am going read up on everybodys posts tomorrow and probably post my own career mode aswell!

Great news, due to me finally being on vacation for a week, I am planning on finishing the season with Stuttgart during this month! Hurray!

Bad news, I had a bunch of plans for my vacation, but in my quest of becoming actually good at football, I have broken my leg, so there is where my free time comes from.

                    Woot for the first two!

Not so much for the last one. My bro broke his leg a few months ago while playing soccer so I can kind of know what's going on. Speedy recovery!

I haven't been able to log on as much, but damn Tex really sucks to hear about your youth academy! Now I'm scared to go into mine... Screw it, youth promotions for everybody! Lol at the same time it's good you'll get a second chance with the career. Hopefully Dominguez stays, just remember to be patient between your contract offers. Another good thing is that you already know how to use Valeron so you'll be able to use him right from the get go.

Simp loving the Tafazolli signing! Thanks for the indirect shout out as well lol I hope he plays an important part for you as he did for me. That guy was with me from league 2 all the way to the premier league!

Cruzzer I hope you can make a speedy recovery. Man with your injury and Indi's this thread is slowly starting to become a hospital like Keano's Hartlepool. By the way Keano this month was brutal but injuries like that make the game more interesting sometimes!

How long will you be out Cruzzer? I remember that when I finally started feeling like I was becoming really good at soccer, playing with more mentality instead of just sprinting everywhere, I strained my hamstring. My mistake was I tried to go back too early, and I haven't played anymore for almost a year now. Be patient, but come back strong Cruzzer!

I want to move out with my girlfriend by this year. I think it's that time already you know? I've been advised to rent a house right off the bat since apartments can be more expensive. AD Alcorcon - '21-'22 Season
                            April Update

                            League Match 30
AD Alcorcon - RCD Mallorca (1-2)
                            Valoy 41'
                            Silva 45' (P)
                            Sobiech 48' (Jimenez)

Recap: The B team once against surprisingly lets us down against a Mallorca squad that knows very well how to be a pain in our behinds. The visitors put a lot of pressure on the ball throughout the game, forcing some errant passes and keeping Alcorcon uneasy for most of the game. Luckily for us Barca also lost against Valencia so our loss doesn't hurt that much.

                            17/10-4 59%

Recap: Sevilla was unable to keep the excitement going from the 1st leg, being dominated from beginning to end by a superior Alcorcon squad. Granted, the first 40 minutes of the game were very tense but once the Potters opened up the scoring Sevilla was unable to handle the pressure and they eventually broke down. Here is a highlight of Knoll's goal:

                            Knoll 6' (Sobiech)
                            Knoll 45' (Imada)
                            Knoll 56' (Imada)
                            Knoll 85' (Samu Castillejo)

                            Cristian Gomez 90+

Recap: Even though they had flunked in the team's last league game, the B squad was given another chance in this game since the match against Barca B's team was to 2 days later and they had already lost against that team earlier in the season. Maximilian Knoll made sure the squad wouldn't let us down again with a career night, scoring all 4 goals for us in a rout of Castilla. There aren't many teams that can afford the luxury of having a player of Knoll's caliber coming off the bench and we're thankful that he has committed to being a team player so far. However, after this game you have to wonder what kind of offers the team will receive for him this summer. He's also a reason why the team has listened to offers for Farago in the past. This win also clinched, at worst, a top-6 finish for us, although we obviously have higher goals in mind.

                            League Match 32
                            AD Alcorcon - Barcelona B (1-0)
                            Farago 42'

Recap: Without a doubt we'll walk away from this season having nothing but a ton of respect for this squad, especially their goalkeeper Ondoa who was once again magnificent against us collecting 11 saves and a 7.9 game rating that earned him MOTM. His only blemish? A shot from Correa hitting off a side post and bouncing right in front of Farago who knocked it in to give us the 3 points. This victory also assured us of a top-4 finish.

                            League Match 33
AD Alcorcon - Malaga CF (4-0)
                            Correa 8'
                            Lopez 13' (De Sciglio)
                            Lopez 52' (P)
                            Knoll 78' (Lopez)

Recap: I considered playing the B team against a bottom-5 team in the league with the 1st leg of the Champions semis coming 3 days later and playing this game just 4 days after defeating Barca B, but in the end I chose to go with the regulars. Would had been fairer to Malaga if I had played the subs as this one was no contest from beginning to end. Knoll did get in on the action late and got to continue an incredible month for him.

Champions League - Semi Finals, 1st Leg
                            AD Alcorcon - Chelsea (1-1)
                            Van Ginkel 45'
                            Farago 84' (Sobiech)

Recap: It looks like a team has finally given us a challenge as Chelsea arguably outplayed us in this one and nearly came away with a victory if not for some fine maneuvering in the box by Farago. We had an edge in possession (54%) but Chelsea had twice as many shots (and shots on goal) as us so in a way we were kind of lucky to come away with a draw while only giving up one goal. The 2nd leg is going to be a battle.

                            League Match 34
AD Alcorcon - Granada CF (1-0)
                            Knoll 32' (Imada)

Recap: Playing 3 days after a draining game against Chelsea and with the rematch against the Blues just 3 days later the B squad got one last run in a busy month for them and came away with the 3 points thanks to further heroics by Knoll.

As it turns out the team I expected to come from the other semi-final, Arsenal (winners of our group), also failed to move on losing 3-2 in aggregate score against Manchester City ... we would had been in the final against Zeshin Yamura (now 85 OVR, btw). Once again, sigh ...

But hey, still great things to look forward to. We are in excellent position to win La Liga for the first time ever and have a 6 game lead with one less game played, meaning wins in our next 2 games would clinch us the championship. Those 2 games will be happening in a 3-day span but with that much at stake I'm pretty sure I'll be running out the starters for both of those. We also can still accomplish a double if we can beat Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey final on May 20th, and I'm sure the Merengues will try their best to give Cristiano Ronaldo (retiring after this season) the best possibly going away party. Other than that La Liga leaderboards continue to have Lopez (+12) and Farago (+5) with solid leads in the goals and assists departments respectively while the clean sheets battle is a bit more crowded with Real Madrid's Neuer (18) still being closely followed by Bilbao's Krul (16) and Alcorcon's Courtois (15).

The calendar turning to May also means final reports from the Academy. Let's take a look at the youth squad:
                            • Ohi Anthony Reinhardsen (GK, 64-68 (+7), 90-94): 15-year old from Norway is undoubtedly the crown jewel of the academy standing at 6'2", 158lbs. We're excited about continuing to develop him.
                            • Jaime Zavaleta (RW, 63-67 (+2), 83-89): 16-year old from USA showing excellent speed didn't show a lot of improvement this season. He's being advised to stay in the academy for another season.
                            • Chola Mayat (CB, 62-66 (+18), 78-84): 17-year old from Ivory Coast described as Physically Strong gets the "Most Improved" tag to confirm his outstanding potential. He's the hope for a continued line of development at this position and will probably be promoted at some point before he turns 18.
                            • Kristoffer Solheim (CDM, 60-64 (+14), 74-80): 16-year old from Norway showed some much improvement this season that he's moved up the academy rankings. We'll still like to see another season of him with the youth sqaud. He's described as Defensive Minded.
                            • Omar Vindheim (CDM, 59-63 (+12), 78-84): 16-year old from Norway described as defensive minded developed very well this season but we'd like to see him stay in the academy for another season. Stands strong at 6'2", 167lbs.
                            • Shola Sadami (CDM, 57-61 (+16), 81-87): 16-year old from Ivory Coast was the 2nd most improved player in the academy this season and we hope he can repeat his performance with another season in the academy. He makes up for less than ideal size for his position with a lot of strength.
                            • Alexander Antonsen (LB, 55-59 (+13), 73-79): 17-year old from Norway showed a lot of improvement this season but needs to stay in the academy for one more season otherwise he won't be called up. Will be developed as a CB due to his lack of speed and size of 6'2", 176lbs.

                            * Denotes recent addition to the academy.

Unfortunately Julio Gutierrez (LW, 56-60, 73-79): requested to be promoted before academy graduation and the team decided not to grant his request. This upset Julio, who decided to leave the academy. We wish him well.

Current roster (* Denotes player graduated from the youth academy):

Wouldn't you only face Germany if either one of you guys came in second in your respective groups. I see you winning your group easily. And Germany should win their group outright and probably in a clean sweep. The only matchup that is going to be a tough one on paper is Ivory Coast. But Denmark has proven me wrong before.

Allow me to add "sweaty." Yes, it sucks sweaty stinky hairy donkey booty. I can't believe it man! Of course it HAD to be FIFA 14's Chelsea and their bus (Sorry Indi) that won 1-0. I guess on the bright side the double is still a possibility. Well not only a possibility, but a requirement now. You HAVE to win that cup final to save this season man. You're doing great in the league though. Great job at starting strong and now close to finishing just as strong. Keep it up! If all else fails, at least you'll have your first La Liga title!!
