Oh noooo, that's awful! Kind of. Not really when you think about the tournament as a whole but still. Beating Germany and Argentina is very, very impressive and reaching the final of the Confed Cup is also a good achievement. Sad to see that you lost the lead in the final but hey, it's Brazil.

What a start you had! Some amazing wins there, especially the one against ManU! Ings and Jutkiewicz have been terrific! The squad is looking very English already, now you just need to get the quality in. I'm interested to see how you do with Burnley.

You've been doing very well with Terek! Good wins against big teams being second in the league is very good. The match presentation is nice.

      FC Terek Grozny
      The Chechens

      Hulk 63'

After getting eliminated from the Russian Cup last month by Zenit St. Petersburg, Terek Grozny came to the Petrovsky Stadium looking for revenge. However, Luciano Spalletti's side again got the best of The Chechens as Zenit prevailed by a score of 1-0. The 1st half only saw one quality chance, that came from Zenit, but Terek's Yaroslav Godzyur parried away a Hulk attempt in the 32nd minute. The deciding goal would come in the 63rd minute when Konstantin Zyryanov sent a through ball into the box that Hulk made a perfectly timed run on against defender Dmirtiy Yatchenko and placed a shot into the left corner by a diving Godzyur. Terek would only get one opportunity to tie the game, but Antonio Ferreira sent his header off of a corner into the waiting arms of Zenit goalkeeper Vyacheslav Malafeev. With the win, Zenit vaults all the way from 5th place to 2nd, while Terek drops from 2nd to 3rd in the RFPL table.

      Jakubko 11'
      Mitrishev 77'

Terek Grozny returned home to the Akhmat Arena looking to regroup after their first league loss as they hosted 1-win Amkar Perm. The game turned out to be a frustrating endeavor as Terek dominated the contest, but had to settle for a draw. Amkar struck quickly in this one in the 11th minute when Martin Jakubko placed a shot from the top of the box perfectly past Terek's Yaroslav Godzyur. Kanu almost evened things up in the 15th minute, but the Brazilian was denied by Amkar goalkeeper Sergey Narubin. Narubin had an excellent game with 6 saves, but Terek would get the best of him in the 77th minute when
Adílson took the ball from defender Alexey Popov and sent in a cross that Magomed Mitrishev headed by the veteran Russian goalkeeper. Terek should have won the game in the 88th minute, but Narubin came up big again, stopping an excellent opportunity from Maciej Rybus and preserving a draw for the visitors.

      RED - Semshov 12'
      Rybus 77'
      Kanu 90'

Following a loss and a draw earlier this month, Terek traveled to Samara to face Krylya Sovetov in a game The Chechens felt they should win. They did exactly that against a 10-man squad for a majority of the game, coming out with a 2-0 victory. Early in the game Krylya suffered a big blow when veteran midfielder Igor Semshov was sent off in the 12th minute with a straight red card for a clumsy challenge on Terek's
Maurício. Terek would dominate the match from that point forward, but could not get the elusive go-ahead goal until the 77th minute when Kanu stole the ball from Ibragim Tsallagov and made a run into the box, sending a cross that Maciej Rybus headed past Krylya goalkeeper Sergey Veremko. Kanu then sealed the game in the 90th minute when the Brazilian beat Veremko with a shot from 20 yards out. Terek reserve goalkeeper Evgeniy Kobozev recorded his second clean sheet in as many matches, but he didn't have to work hard for this one as Krylya got 0 attempts on goal during the 90 minutes.

      MotM: Kanu

Terek Grozny Player of the Month

CAM Kanu, 70 Ovr, Brazil, 26 years old

Kanu picked up his second consecutive Player of the Month award on the back of a big game that the Brazilian midfielder had against Krylya Sovetov Samara. Kanu assisted on Maciej Rybus' game winning goal and scored one of his own, while also earning Man of the Match honors in the contest. For the season, Kanu leads Terek Grozny in goal scoring with 3 tallies in 7 matches.

      Manager's Thoughts
I was hoping for 6 points out of a possible 9, but we only took 4 thanks to a frustrating draw with Amkar Perm. It looks as if Zenit St. Petersburg just has our number as they have beaten us 1-0 both times we faced them. We don't score a lot of goals, but those matches against Zenit are the only times we have been shut out. It looks like I have a new Starting XI striker with Magomed Mitrishev as the 21-year-old Russian has been more effective than
Aílton in less playing time. Kanu stayed hot this month and really helped us in the win against Krylya Sovetov Samara. We did fall from 2nd place to 3rd place this month, but considering the club has never finished higher than 8th, I'm still happy with our progress. The new goal for this season is to qualify for Europe, and right now we're on track to do just that. Hopefully, we can keep it up.

      Terek Youth Academy
Still no new developments on the youth front. Scout Vasili Manakev has been sent to Moscow and is keeping in contact, unlike last month, but nothing has developed yet. Chairman Ramzan Kadyrov is beginning to lose patience with Manakev and a sacking could be in the cards as soon as November if things don't pick up quickly.

      International Duty
For the second consecutive month, midfielder Maciej Rybus was called up to the Polish National Team. Also this month, defender Juhani Ojala was called to represent Finland. Ojala first represented the Finnish side beginning in 2011. Terek Grozny congratulates both players on their accomplishments.

      Player Injury
Terek Grozny got horrible news at the beginning of October as it was learned that midfielder Oleg Ivanov suffered an ACL injury in training that will sideline the Russian for 4 months. Ivanov was Terek's August Player of the Month and has 2 goals and 1 assist in 5 matches this season. This means Kanu assumes the full-time role at the CAM position, and Terek will also become buyers in the January transfer window. Right now the top target is 23-year-old Russian Fedor Smolov of Dinamo Moskva who has appeared in 2 matches this season with 0 goals.

      November 2013 Fixtures
      11/2 - vs Ural
      11/9 - at Lokomotiv
      11/23 - vs Krasnodar

I will be looking to take 7 points from a possible 9 in these matches. We should dispatch of FC Ural Sverdlovsk Oblast in our first match as that club is currently at the bottom of the RFPL table. The game at Lokomotiv Moskva is tricky, but I would be satisfied with a draw. FC Krasnodar has really made a climb in the table going from 15th to 9th, but I still feel as if we can beat them at the Akhmat Arena.

Cruzerr Good to see you going with Burnley and keeping the English player emphasis like you did in your Manchester City CM. What a month beating Chelsea, Manchester United, and Swansea. Ings and Jutkiewicz were massive. Looking forward to more.

Simppu Really good month besides the Hamburger game as they always seem to give you trouble. You really handled Liverpool in the Champions League Round of 16. Kalou was still pretty good, but Calhanoglu really had a great month.

Chico Nice run to the Confederations Cup Final. You had some really good results over Germany and Argentina. Tough to lose to Brazil when you struck first with Chicharito. Will be interesting to see where Chicharito ends up and looking forward to the upcoming games against Egypt and South Africa.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

@Cruzerr I'm really liking the Burnley career so far. You've set some really good parameters for this one, and I think with the lower budget compared to City, it will offer a better and longer challenge. You're off to a flying start with a few wins that you probably didn't expect, but well done to get them anyway. Hope to see the announcement of Ings' contract extension soon.

@Simppu I see you're back to dominating the Bundesliga and Europe. Kalou is a monster, and I'm so happy to see him getting the plaudits he deserves, as he was one of my favourites at Chelsea. You don't seem to be as head and shoulders above Bayern as you were last time, but I'm sure you will get there in the end. Don't get bored of winning every last trophy in sight!

@Chico All I'll say about Osasuna is that you're overachieving by some margin. Absolutely digging that 3-1-4-2 formation with El Tri, which is the same I have been using with Derby in the opening stages. You also have 3 midfielders with H/H work rates, which I simply adore in formations with 3 defenders. Please give me your feedback on Raul Jimenez, because I've got him on my shortlist to pick up in a couple of seasons from now. Shame that you couldn't grab the trophy, but you really took it to Argentina and only lost out to the likes of Neymar and Oscar, so don't feel too bad.

@Southernmetalhead I was really curious to see how your career would progress as nobody had done a Russian team until you came along, so it's nice to see you picking up some big results against top sides. Well done to be second at this point, and while you have a long way to go, I think you should be able to qualify for European competition at this rate.

@Keano I've always had a soft spot for Forest since managing them in FIFA 14, so it's nice to see that someone else has chosen to do them this year. I like your team's setup, though I would personally put Chalobah in at CDM over Spearing, but it's your side. I'm curious to see how you get on since I used the financial takeover to bring in players like Fraser Forster and Eric Dier right off the bat, and with you not having access to that sort of funding, it'll be very interesting. All the very best!

@Jamie Being in a promotion spot with a club as limited as Brentford is fantastic. That win over City must have been incredibly pleasing! Shocking to see Ipswich dancing with relegation so early in the season, which proves how varied this game can be as they're fighting for promotion in my Derby save.

Also, where the f*ck is Rabbit?

            Derby County
            Season 1 (2014/15)/Xbox One/World Class

            DEPARTURES

            CALERO, Ivan
            CAM/Spain/20

Ivan is a young prospect with the potential to develop into a squad player, though it is more likely that he will eventually find himself at another club. Nonetheless, a season on loan with Portsmouth in League Two will give him the opportunity to showcase his talent while getting valuable experience in a professional first team setting.

            EUSTACE, John
            CDM/England/34

John signed for Derby in the summer of 2013 following a loan and a trial, and while he made important contributions during the previous season, I felt that it was time for him to move on and find a club where he could play regularly. Aged 34 and rated 66 overall, he moved to Leeds United for just £150,000.

            FORSYTH, Craig
            LB/England/26

Craig wasn't going to be part of my plans by virtue of several factors. He's a full back incapable of playing either centre half or wing back, and with much better defensive players to slot in ahead of the back three, it left him with no role in my new 3-1-4-2 formation. A move to Leeds allows him to link up with John Eustace and get some regular game time, all while putting £600,000 in the club's pockets.

            MASCARELL, Omar
            CDM/Spain/22

Omar was with us on loan when I joined Derby, but I was quickly disappointed to find that he did not have the preferable work rate or the attributes to compensate for the lack thereof. I chose to terminate his loan for £77,000, sending him back to Madrid for Carlo Ancelotti to worry about.

            RAWSON, Farrend
            CB/England/18

Farrend looks like he might have a touch of class about him and may yet be a future first team player. A loan spell at Walsall in League One will give him the chance to play regularly, aiding his development without costing us a shot at promotion thanks to his rawness and inexperience at the higher levels.

            WARNOCK, Stephen
            LB/England/33

Stephen is quite simply a player I'm not fond of. He lacks pretty much everything that makes a full back dangerous, and he doesn't have the pace and stamina to get up and down the wing 50 times a game. I figured that moving him on would get us a good bit of cash and add to our wage budget, so it was a simple 'yes' when Middlesbrough bid £400,000 for him early in the transfer window.

            ARRIVALS

            BUTLAND, Jack
            GK/England/22

Lee Grant was never going to help us make the Premier League, so the priority of the window was as good a goalkeeper as we could afford. Jack was dissatisfied with his limited opportunities at Stoke City, who were unwilling to let him join us on loan for the duration of the season. However, they agreed to part with him for £3.9 million, and Jack was more than happy to sign a four-year contract that would make him our first-choice goalkeeper.

            KALAS, Tomas
            CB/Czech Republic/21

Following the departure of Omar Mascarell, it was important to bring in some cover in defensive midfield. I also wanted someone who could play at centre back, as I didn't trust Zak Whitbread should one of our first team defenders get injured. Kalas would have spent all season on the bench with Chelsea, but he had the right attributes for what I needed, so I decided that his wages of £25,000 per week were worth paying to get him in on loan until the end of the campaign.

            22. Huddersfield Town, 3 points
            23. Blackpool, 3 points
            24. Rotherham United, 3 points

            MANAGER'S THOUGHTS

Preseason: It's not a bad start, is it? Two wins from three would be six points out of nine in league play, which is a decent return for a team that's looking to go up. Obviously, teams like Guingamp are going to ask questions until we find quality and consistency to match top-flight sides. I'm happy with how we performed, especially since we play with a back 3 in a division that's known for its wide men and wing play. If we can start well with about 20 points from our first 10 games, we can have a productive campaign.

            August form:
We went 100% with a convincing away win at Norwich in the league, followed by three big victories in the league. We did not concede a goal all month, which is a testament to Jack Butland's ability and talent.

            September form:
Five wins and two losses is not a bad run. Though we're upset to be out of the cup, we can't complain since the team that knocked us out have real quality. Boro caught us out when we were tired, but there are no complaints yet again as we were thoroughly outplayed. We still top the table with 21 points from eight games, which is far beyond what we expected to pick up.

            Darren Bent's form:
Ten goals in six games prior to his injury made Darren the top scorer in both league and cup play. A hat-trick on his competitive debut for us showed us that he still has the form he displayed at Ipswich, Charlton and Sunderland.

            Darren Bent's injury:
It's a shame that such a vicious foul wasn't even noticed by the officials, but such is life. We're more concerned for Darren to get fit and strong, and all involved will be a wee bit nervous until he's back.

            Johnny Russell:
He's really stepped up since Darren Bent's injury with four goals in five games. Quick on and off the ball, it looks like the Scot will be our go-to man in tight situations until we get Darren back into the side.

            Eiður Guðjohnsen:
The league's top scorer with 10 goals in eight games, Eiður has come back to England in style. The former Chelsea and Barcelona superstar is back at the club that brought him to English football, and he has repaid Neil Lennon's faith with a stunning tally in the opening stages.

            3-1-4-2:
We decided to opt for stability over flair in the opening stages of the campaign. Raul Albentosa was the first-choice holding midfielder until we got Tomas Kalas in on loan. Since setting up both of Darren Bent's goals in his debut against Rotherham, he has claimed the spot as his own.

            3-4-1-2:
There will be experimentation now that we have found the rhythm and chemistry to put attacks together without compromising shape. One of the things we want to try is a 3-4-1-2 formation with Will Hughes playing in behind the strikers, which is something we hope will allow him to influence games with a little more presence.

All the very best!

Thanks! Reading back on some old careers put Forest on my shortlist and I liked the fact that we European champions once upon a time but are now languishing in the Championship. The side wasn't set in stone when I posted the team and I'm still not sure who to play there! Spearing is smaller but is a very good tackler. His strength is quite low though, only around 60ish. Chalobah has been good whenever he has played so it'll be an interesting battle for a first team spot. I'm also wondering what tactics to use with the 4-4-2 Diamond Wide along with the build up play and thine like that.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

It's all about the 'how': Indi Blue

There's something about the way that Derby County's head coach asks his players to work on ball control that makes you recall Marcelo Bielsa's madman training sessions, if ever you've had the honour of witnessing one firsthand. If they can keep the ball away from their own shadows, surely the likes of Brentford and Rotherham stand no chance. And should they lose the ball, the next exercise ensures that there's no question of going without it for more than a few seconds.

"We don't like not having the ball, but possession for us is not about passing sideways or keeping the opposition from playing," says Indi Blue. "Owning the ball means owning the pitch, dictating the tempo of the match, choosing the decibel levels of both sets of fans, and generally taking a lead role in determining how you can approach the game. Do you want to create a free, open match? Do you want to close down space and limit how far the other side can go? If you have the ball, you can do anything you want."

Indi is as passionate in person as he is on the touchline on match days, so it comes as no surprise that he doesn't take kindly when I suggest that Barcelona are the prototype for his team. "We don't want to be compared to other teams. Yes, there are role models out there who inspire us, and Barcelona's ability to keep the ball and penetrate defences is worth replicating. But the style we have is our own. We've combined the best of other teams with our own surprises and tweaks to create a system that is unique to this club. The 'what' is the same, but the 'how' is special."

This kid truly is fearless, as his ex-boss pointed out last week in his new stint as a BBC pundit. "He has talent to concoct all these tactics and courage to go ahead with them," Steve McClaren said on The Football League Show. "You just need to look at Liverpool, who have been playing with a back three quite often since Brendan Rodgers took over. It doesn't quite work there, and I'm not sure Brendan knows why. Yet Indi has figured out how to make the most of this system. You have to admire his desire to be different without sacrificing results or going in a different direction that his players can't keep up with."

Suddenly, Raul Albentosa steams into a challenge, all 193 centimetres and 89 kg of his Valencian muscle and bone knocking Glasgow native Johnny Russell off balance with a perfect slide tackle. But the former Dundee United winger quickly recovers before getting a foot to the ball, dragging it back before playing a one-two with Chris Martin. Albentosa is already moving back into position, ready to help Shaun Barker and Richard Keogh surround the tricky Scot. Indi looks over in glee, proud that he has got each player wanting to outdo all the others.

A lot of this success has been contingent on doing what's right for those players on the basis of individual talent, which allows them to perform to the best of their abilities, in turn providing them with confidence and belief. That has helped them win 21 points from eight games, score 18 goals, concede just four times, and keep five clean sheets with an average possession rate of 62%. It's enough to satisfy even the most discerning Derby County supporter, and it's all down to Indi's commitment to his players.

Before they brought Tomas Kalas in on loan from Chelsea, it was Albentosa who was asked to play in front of the back three. While strong, the Spaniard isn't blessed with stamina or pace, so he wasn't asked to go from box to box. He doesn't have tremendous range of passing or incredible vision, so he wasn't entrusted to start plays from deep. A defensively aware shielding midfielder, he picked up opposition forwards with his superior marking; a ball winner and nothing more. When Kalas showcased greater ability and better technique, it was obvious that he was more suited to a deeper playmaking role. The changes made that day against Rotherham resulted in the Czech picking up two assists, setting up both of Darren Bent's goals before laying on a key pass that allowed the Englishman to assist Conor Sammon for Derby's third.

"You can't make a deer eat meat if he doesn't have the teeth and stomach for it," Indi says, a gem that makes you wonder if you're possibly interviewing Jose Mourinho's star pupil or the second coming of Brian Clough. "You have to tailor the way you play to the men at your disposal, not the other way. And if a player doesn't have the skill set needed to perform or excel in a role, why give it to him? You're always better off with a mediocre player doing what he does best than a superstar in unfamiliar territory. Besides, coaches have a duty to their players. We tell these guys to join our clubs, to sacrifice higher wages for a chance to play regularly and hopefully win something. How can you say all that to someone, ask him to move his family hundreds or thousands of miles across mountains and oceans, and then not do your damned best for him?"

It's about now, at the end of this emotionally charged line of philosophy, that Derby's head of fitness Charlie Ings checks in with Indi about Darren Bent. The former Ipswich man's dislocated shoulder is healing well, and club doctors expect him to start training with the first team earlier than expected. The news is positive enough to lift Indi's spirits and those of the first team. Russell seems especially pleased, no doubt eager to partner the veteran goalscorer up top in what promises to be a fruitful pairing. As I look to the Scot's grinning face, Indi pieces the puzzle together.

"I wish I had given them a chance to play up top together before Darren got hurt," he says. "They're a very interesting pair. Johnny has the pace and athleticism that Darren had when he was younger, and Darren has the experience to tell Johnny, 'Listen, don't do that when they're doing this'. Don't get me wrong, I love Chris (Martin), but even he'll be the first to tell you that those two together at some point is going to cause serious problems for other teams."

About 200 minutes into my time at Moor Farm, a good 60 of which I've spent talking directly with Indi one on one, and I still have no clue what this man is really about. Sure, we know he's passionate about the game and his club. But what's he really about? "Sorry, that's not one for the public record," he tells me. "If you reveal too much, other coaches can read you like a book... the good ones, anyway. Sir Alex, Mourinho, Mr. McClaren... they all held their cards close. The moment people know what to expect from you, they know what not to expect, which tells them what to expect."

If Indi can confuse his opponents as much as he confused me with that closing line, Derby might just find themselves in the Premier League next season. And beyond.

Give this a try for tactics:

                    Build Up Play
                    Speed: 61
                    Passing: 48
                    Positioning: Organised
                    Chance Creation
                    Passing: 40
                    Crossing: 60
                    Shooting: 40
                    Positioning: Organised
                    Defence
                    Pressure: 65
                    Aggression: 61
                    Team Width: 20
                    Defender Line: Cover

A value of 61 for speed means you need to get the ball up quickly, which is how you will want to do it considering you only have two central midfielders and one of them is practically a forward. Passing at 48 will let you mix it up without making your wide men pull too far infield, which is especially needed if you enjoy running down the wing. In chance creation, setting the value for crossing higher than passing/shooting will get your two strikers into scoring positions in the box i.e. late runs, presenting for the cutback, etc. Since you will have anywhere from 3-5 players in the opposition half if you lose the ball there, a high value for pressure will help you get the ball back quickly. Aggression at 61 is almost perfect for any high pressing tactic, and a narrow team width is perfect since you have just two natural central midfielders. Go organised to stop your CDM and wingers from wandering out of position and cover because offside trap is w*nk.

Get both strikers to stay central and get in behind, ask your CDM to stay back and man mark, and get your CAM to stay on the edge of the box and come back to defend. If your wingers will be cutting inside, leave the full backs on default. If one is cutting inside and the other is staying wide, ask the full back behind the one cutting in to overlap. If both are staying wide, ask both full backs to stay back on defence. I also suggest ensuring that all four defenders are in a flat line (move the RB/LB down instead of RCB/LCB up).

@1061, Everton got revenge, and not even once. Sad to see you drop out of the cup, but now, I guess the full focus is on the league!

@1065, second French league? Well, that is quite something new! I like those rules aswell, making it more interesting. Keen to see how this goes on! Your squad doesn't look the greatest, but knowing you and Exeter, you can make magic happen! Good luck!

Also, those games that you had with Exeter look really tough, and so do the ones next month, against Arsenal and Manu, but it seems like most of you have no problem beating the Gunners. Anyway, hoping to see you do well!

@1071, a pretty fine start, considering your objectives! Your budget isn't the biggest, so making moves is quite impossible. Still, not a bad pre-season, lets see how you do in Ligue 2!

@1073, IT IS THE OTHER WAY AROUND, you beat ManU and lose to Arsenal, how can't you guys get it right? The games look tough, they really do, but maybe you can go Top 4, lets see!
Thanks! I'm really looking forward to the new season with Exeter City to be honest with you! I'm actually gonna get some money! And then i'll be able to strengthen my squad which I'll need if I'm going into the Europa (or even Champions) league next season.

I've been doing a lot better than I expected in my Gazelec career! And the pre-season was tough due to the difficulty and getting used to the squad. I'm doing well since my other update and I want to keep the momentum going!

6th in the table with Exeter City. van Nieff and Appiah were impressive. Manchester City and Liverpool up next will be tough, hopefully you can take some points from them and then handle business against Aston Villa and West Ham.

2nd Gazelec - That game against Angers was crazy. 2 late goals by Tshibumbu to pull it out, very nice. Then followed by another 4-3 game against Valenciennes. Looks like you tightened up defensively after that. It's early, but you're in the promotion race and Tshibumbu was excellent.
Van Nieff was amazing in my last Exeter update and he literally popped up out of nowhere to get quite a few goals under his belt and Appiah's been amazing as always whilst also retaining the top goal scorer spot! Yeah, a very mixed month with two difficult teams and two slightly easier teams but I hopeing for a nice wad of points through those games!

Haha, yeah! That Angers game was amazing! Tshibumbu scored in the last minute and I was like: "Yes! I've got the point!!!" and then a minute later he scored again in a spectacular display which left my speechless. Going from losing all three points to winning all three points in two minutes was something I've rarely experianced. I did start to get used to the offense of Legendary so I started to let in less goals but it was also due to the formation change I made to a 5-4-1 which really suits this team!

                          Hi Guys

                          Sorry I haven't posted lately

I was busy early during the week and been very sick since Wednesday. I couldn't get out of bed yesterday fml. Got some energy to play tonight and will post either tomorrow or Monday. I will post until the end of season.

@Indi: As a Championship fan I've followed Derby, I feel they are the hard luck team, Only promoted for a season then just missing out on promotion each season (should of gone up instead of QPR last year) Hopefully you can get them up and make them a solid PL team to World Class team. Sorry to be a pain but your starting 11 didn't load for me could you please write it down for me thanks greatly appriciated.

@Keano: Also admire Nottingham Forest, They have a weird owner and can never have a long tem manager. Gutted you sold a long time server in Andy Reid but it's FIFA and not real life good luck trying to get promoted.

indiblue Yeah, I was a Russian history major in college, so that's how I got started following the league. It's a fun league for sure, with some quality players. I'm a Zenit and Rubin supporter and both clubs have been very successful. Terek Grozny is a team that usually hangs around mid-table to just above the relegation zone (even though there's no relegation in FIFA), so it's a good chance to build them up.

Awesome month of August with Derby, not even conceding a goal. Sucks you are out of the Capital One Cup with the loss to Bolton, but that is one less distraction from your goal of gaining promotion. Unfortunate injury to Darren Bent, he was really on fire. Good to see you top of the table, keep it up!

Get better, mate. Here's my XI:

                              GK Jack Butland
                              RCB Ryan Shotton
                              CB Shaun Barker
                              LCB Richard Keogh (c)
                              CDM Tomas Kalas
                              RM Tom Ince
                              RCM Craig Bryson
                              LCM Will Hughes
                              LM Jamie Ward
                              RS Johnny Russell
                              LS Chris Martin

Yes, they have been screwed over in the past. This year, the fault is all theirs. They lost today and missed out on the promotion playoff spots, and it was down to a lack of stones. McClaren won't be with them any longer, I think. He's too talented to be managing a bunch of guys with no balls in the Championship. Fully expect him to be at Newcastle or Sunderland this summer, whichever one stays up.

Very interesting. I've never spoken to someone who studied Russian history, so it's fantastic to finally do so. I'm actually moving to Moscow in a few weeks on a long-term job, so I will be picking up a season ticket to watch CSKA solely to watch Zoran Tosic (who I hope will still be there when I reach Russia). Anyway, if you have any tips to make life in Moscow better, I'm more than open to ideas and suggestions! Cheers, I do miss Bent but Russell looks to be the future of this time in terms of scoring goals. Let's hope it keeps rolling as you said.

This game was a high scoring affair at the Akhmat Arena between Terek Grozny and newly promoted side FC Ural Sverdlovsk Oblast. The visitors from Yekaterinburg wasted no time getting on the score sheet as Alexandr Dantsev dribbled into the box and found Spartak Gogniev who beat Terek goalkeeper Evgeniy Kobozev with a shot in just the 4th minute of play. Ural doubled their lead in the 21st minute when Andrey Gorbanets fired a shot over the head of Kobozev and under the crossbar. Terek would pull back one goal before halftime as Kanu, who has been in brilliant form, scored in the 30th minute against Ural goalkeeper Evgeniy Pomazan. Terek would hit posts in the 32nd and 47th minute on shots from Maciej Rybus and Zaur Sadaev respectively. The tying goal would come in the 52nd minute when Maciej Makuszewski sent a cross into the box that Adílson headed into the net. Terek pulled ahead in the 75th minute off of a Fedor Kudryashov corner that Jonathan Legear headed past a diving Pomazan. Makuszewski continued Terek's onslaught in the 83rd minute when he volleyed in a shot after a cross from his Polish countryman Rybus. Gerson Acevedo almost grabbed a goal back for Ural in the 89th minute, but the Chilean's glorious chance was skied high of goal.

Despite the snowy conditions at Lokomotiv Central Stadium, this game between Lokomotiv Moskva and Terek Grozny had a very distinctive Brazilian flavor. The Chechens were dangerous early, getting a chance from Magomed Mitrishev in the 5th minute, but Lokomotiv goalkeeper Guilherme was up to the challenge making the save. Maicon should have done better with his shot for Lokomotiv in the 25th minute, but instead he sent it wide right of goal. Lassana Diarra got the next Lokomotiv chance in the 33rd minute, but the former Chelsea, Arsenal, and Real Madrid midfielder was stopped by Terek goalkeeper Yaroslav Godzyur. In the 2nd half, Igor Lebedenko would get two great chances for Terek in the 69th minute, but Guilherme was again in top form to make the necessary saves. The game looked destined for a 0-0 draw, but in the 90th minute, Terek's Brazilian connection found the back of the net when a Kanu cross was volleyed off the left post and in by Aílton against his countryman Guilherme. Lokomotiv probably felt unjustly done by leaving with 0 points, but Terek seemed to play a level above the home team all day long, so manager Rashid Rakhimov will not complain with taking a full 3 points.

Terek Grozny completed a perfect month of November by dispatching FC Krasnodar by a score of 2-0 at the Akhmat Arena. Right before halftime, Terek got on the board when Kanu took advantage of two Krasnodar defenders colliding and got a shot on goal. Krasnodar goalkeeper Alexandr Filtsov made the save on Kanu, but couldn't control the ball as Aílton popped in a goal for the second consecutive game. Krasnodar came close to equalizing in the 56th minute from a corner, but Ari's header was just wide of goal. Terek would get the goal to seal victory in the 90th minute when Maciej Makuszewski sent in a cross that Magomed Mitrishev headed by Filtsov. It was Mitrishev's 3rd goal of the season, all coming from headers.

Aílton had fallen out of favor with manager Rashid Rakhimov, losing his Starting XI spot to Magomed Mitrishev in advance of the Lokomotiv Moskva game. The Brazilian striker would redeem himself however, getting a 90th minute winner against Lokomotiv after coming on as a substitute, and then also netting the winning goal against FC Krasnodar to push his goal total to 3 in 9 matches.

                                Manager's Thoughts
Wow, what a month to win all 3 games and move back into 2nd place in the RFPL table. We were really shocked by the start that bottom side FC Ural Sverdlovsk Oblast had against us, but we bounced back to score 4 goals in that game (the most goals we have had in a game all season). I had lost faith in Aílton, even taking him out of the Starting XI, but he really responded with 2 game winners against Lokomotiv Moskva and FC Krasnodar to earn November Player of the Month. For now, he is our top choice striker again, although Magomed Mirtishev is playing well too. Yaroslav Godzyur didn't have to make a lot of saves as our defense was pretty good against Lokomotiv and Krasnodar, but the Ukrainian goalkeeper did have 2 clean sheets this month and now has 4 on the season, which has him among the league leaders.

                                Terek Youth Academy
Scout Vasili Manakev finally got us a report on some players. None of these youngsters have been signed yet, but they could be very soon. Our targets are as follows:

GK Vasili Yeksov, 38-50 Ovr, 62-84 Pot, Russia, 15 years old
UNK Vadim Mironov, 24-32 Ovr, 59-81 Pot, Russia, 15 years old
GK Fedor Tverdovsky, 37-49 Ovr, 59-79 Pot, Russia, 16 years old
UNK Dmitri Chekhov, 40-52 Ovr, 62-84 Pot, Russia, 16 years old

                                International Duty
For the second consecutive month, defender Juhani Ojala has been called to represent the Finnish National Team. Terek Grozny congratulates Juhani on this accomplishment.

                                December 2013 Fixtures
                                12/1 - at Rostov
                                12/8 - at Tom
                                12/14 - vs CSKA
                                12/21 - vs Dinamo

This month we face some lower and higher sides. Despite having to travel, I feel we should take both of the games against FC Rostov and Tom Tomsk. Rostov is only 14th in the table, while Tom is in last place at 16th. From there however, we have to face league leaders CSKA Moskva. CSKA isn't in the greatest form though, only going 2-2-1 in their last 5 games after winning their first 8 games. Maybe we can get them at the right time. Then we have the rematch with Dinamo Moskva, which was a thrilling 2-1 win for us in the capital last time we played. Dinamo felt done wrongly by that result as our winner came in the 90th minute, so they will certainly be looking to pay us back at the Akhmat Arena.
