Sorry for the 3 straight updates! I've been running through this season pretty quick. With how I've been struggling so far it makes me feel like I can't end on a bad night so it ropes me into playing more!

I plan on commenting on all of your guys new careers this week. It's been exciting to read everyone getting back into it and seeing how everyone is adjusting to the new game.

OkDoei's Arsenal FC Career Mode. Season 1.

        More games played by Arsenal!

        Arsenal 3 – 1 Derby County
        (FA Cup)
        Simulated

        Arsenal 1 – 1 Newcastle United

        59’ Icardi 1 – 0
        86’ Riedewald 1 – 1 (O.G.)

        Match Report:

It sucks that Jairo scored an own goal. He has been in excellent form as of recent. I sure do hope that this doesn’t get to him. I want him to know that I’ve got more than enough trust in him and that he’ll get even more game time if he keeps developing this way. And Mauro has been scoring for fun recently, he’s actually the top scorer in the BPL right now. Excellent signing.

        Liverpool 1 – 2 Arsenal

        66’ Özil 0 – 1
        84’ Ings 1 – 1
        90+’ Ox 1 – 2

        Match Report:

I’m so happy to see that Özil got Man of the Match. He’s had some troubles adjusting to my system and my type of football but he’s had an awesome game tonight. He scored the first goal and assisted Oxlade in the winning goal. Let’s hope that he improves his form from now on.

        Arsenal 2 – 0 Newcastle United
        (Capital One Cup semi-final)
        Simulated

        Arsenal 1 – 1 Huddersfield
        (FA Cup)
        Simulated

        Newcastle United 1 – 2 Arsenal
        (Capital One Cup semi-final)
        Simulated

        Stoke city 1 – 3 Arsenal

        12’ Giroud 0 – 1
        32’ Alexis 0 – 2 (Penalty Kick)
        37’ Odemwingie 1 – 2
        45+’ Alexis 1 – 3

        Match Report:

This match only contained one half. The second half was very dull from both sides, which looked very tired to me. I’m glad that Alexis scored a brace against a tough opponent. Giroud is not giving up on the battle for the first striker. That’s a good thing as long as they both keep scoring.

        Huddersfield 1 – 2 Arsenal
        (FA Cup)
        Simulated

        Bournemouth 1 – 2 Arsenal

        33’ Özil 0 – 1
        75’ Gradel 1 – 1
        88’ Icardi 1 – 2

        Match Report:

First of all, we need to stop conceding so late into the game. Özil played a big part today, scoring the first and setting up the winning goal. Icardi scored another goal, so that’s good for us. Lucas Moura made his debut this game and he looked very lively and fast. He’ll be a great addition for us. Let’s just hope that he’ll be just as successful as Riedewald, Carvalho, and Icardi.

        Arsenal’s Winter Transfer Window

Did anything happen for Arsenal in January? Oh yes, we’ve signed a very promising player. Who? You’ll find out right now!

        Players in:

        Benjamin Mendy

        From: Olympique de Marseille

        Position: LB

        Price paid: €7 Million

Role in squad: Important first team player

Benjamin has been a player that I’ve had my eyes on since this summer. I really like him and he has quite some potential. He’s lightning quick and in good physical shape. He has great stamina on top of that, which is great considering the amount of matches we play. He’ll be an excellent signing, I’m sure of that.

        Lucas Moura

        From: PSG

        Position: RW, RM

        Price paid: €25 Million

Role in squad: Crucial first team player

What a signing for Arsenal! A talented and fast winger to compete with Walcott. Just what we needed in my eyes. We had enough wingers but I really wanted another winger that is ready to perform in the first team. Lucas is just that kind of player. He’s lightning fast and very skilful. His dribbling is next level and he has been praised as a very entertaining player to watch. Arsenal will enjoy his company for sure!

        Daniele Rugani

        From: Juventus

        Position: CB

Price paid: Loan w/ option to buy for €15 Million

Role in squad: Important first team player

For me, this is the most exciting singing this winter. I’ve got Rugani on loan from Juventus, with an option to buy for just, just!, 15 million Euro’s. What an absolute steal! He’s 78 rated, and he has an explosive potential of 88! He’s 188cm tall and a very good tackler. He’s still very young, just 20 years old. He has got plenty of team to grow into our first team, as he’s very close to it already. He has the potential to become one of the best Italian defenders to ever grace the pitch, so I’m very excited about that! Can’t wait to see him grow!

        Players out:

        Oxlade Chamberlain

Loaned to Olympique de Marseille for 6 months.

Reason for departure: Don’t get me wrong, Oxlade is still an exciting young winger. The reason that I’ve loaned him out is the fact that he simply won’t get enough gameplay at Arsenal right now. Alexis and Walcott are the first team wingers, with Lucas challenging Walcott for his starting place. This would leave Oxlade to be the 4th winger, which isn’t the position that he should be focussing on. I’ve still got Campbell who has been better than Oxlade this season, so the Ox has the change to improve his game in France.

        Kieran Gibbs

Sold to Bayer Leverkusen for €15 Million.

Reason for departure: Well… this was a hard decision to make. But to be honest, Gibbs hasn’t been up to it this season at all. Receiving red cards, not playing very well. Monreal has overtaken him by a mile last season, and Gibbs hasn’t done anything about it. Which is a shame, he really has the potential to shine. But signing Mendy and having Riedewald who can play as LB as well was too much for me, and convinced me that I had to sell him. For the sake of his career and for the sake of our football club. He was unhappy as he didn’t get enough game time. Hopefully he can fulfil his potential in Germany and I wish him all the best.

        Oh, and this happened:

But naturally, I refused that bid instantly. Pffsh, crazy Spurs

Current squad after the winter transfer period:

That's all folks, more games to come soon! I have two games against Chelsea coming up! One in the BPL, and one in the Capital One Cup final. Exciting!

Thanks for reading! Any feedback/questions/critisism? Let me know!

        Stay tuned for more!

FIFA 16 Career Mode - My First Impressions - The Conclusion / Part 3

Today we come to a close for my first impressions with FIFA 16.

I have started with the youth academy, but am yet to receive any updates from the scouts. So I am assuming it works as stated by EA and other users, which is – Great with opportunity to train the youth players you sign for your youth academy without signing them for your first team in the beginning. So you can train and wait for them to grow some, before you decide to promote them to first team. One thing I noted though- the squad size has been increased from 42 to 52- so it allows space to accommodate more young talent on the books along with sent away loaners. Another great thing in transfers is ability to sign free players anytime during a season. I have tried in one season only, so am keeping my fingers crossed to see if any good players whose contracts are on verge of expiry end up as free players or not – unlike in previous editions where they all seemed to re-sign with their clubs rather than become free players and move elsewhere (EA Guys, take a look at Andre Ayew, for God's sake!!! Phew!!!).The story of the season is a great addition to perk up the in game feeling where they featured new West Brom signing by me – Robert Snodgrass with his details like Age, Transfer Value etc. Also in derby match with Villa they discussed the rivalry and mentioned that Villa will face trouble scoring against the team with Best Defence in league till now i.e. 5 matches into the season (and also showed that stat as top 5 best defence teams list with my team highlighted).

On gameplay front, the possession and passing gameplay is quite good on Professional difficulty but I hope it would challenge me more once I move up to World Class. In one match with West Brom, leading 2-1 against Villa in a Cup match, I scored my first direct free kick in FIFA 16 - a great curler from 30 meters out from a left side 30-35 degrees angle. Beat the keeper at his near post with the curl and power. Felt Great!!! The trainer assist mode is good addition, but personally I feel it to be more of a distraction than help. Rather than trainer, I love the skill games – there is variety and newer additions in this part. During training in Career mode, if you try yourself the scheduled training sessions yourself, you would simply love it. May not be feasible all the time, but once in a while you must try it guys.

Along with all these positive feelers, I could find three bloopers till date which I can't resist sharing. First up was wrong referee- a referee from Saudi Arabia officiating a Capital One Cup match!!! Next in was wrong commentary during Pre-season tournament match, where, when I made 3 changes together (with 4 more being available to me in FIFA 16), and the commentators mentioned it being a drastic decision by the manager to use all his substitutes at one go. And final one was in gameplay which is not done – I tried to play possession game towards the last 5 minutes of match leading 2-0 and my players tiring. I was passing the ball between my defenders and one opposing player was roaming in my area trying to intercept. All of a sudden I stopped passing and held the ball with one of my defenders and simply stopped moving. And NO opposing player came charging towards me even as the clock was counting down. They simply stood still – twitching at the point where they stood. This is unimaginable coming to FIFA 16. If in earlier versions like FIFA 12/13 I can understand, but coming to this new next-gen engine and this – it's totally unacceptable.

Finally as I wrap up this post, I will give my view on gameplay from each position of play. Let's start from the back, with the Goalkeepers. The animations of saves and conceding goals have been greatly upgraded. The keepers AI is much evolved with them making good outings during one on ones, corners/free kicks and also coming out to clear lines with kicks when defenders are not close by. Also the keepers are much frequent with their punched clearances and celebrate goals and saves made by themselves nicely. But still improvement is required during penalty shoot outs where it’s more favourable to the penalty takers.

Next up is the defence line. It has had a remarkable upgrade, right from more number of blocks with body in line TO more great interceptions which are frequent and not once in a while TO superb online clearances bringing to front the use of goal line technology seamlessly in game. The shirt pulling has gone up along with crunching tackles by them with powerful bullies being more difficult to shake off. They are more nimble footed now getting back up from challenges and the aerial challenges are really more challenging now. But then again, they are not in GOD mode and make their share of mistakes helping create chances to be taken.

The battle in middle of park is worth winning this time round, as promised by EA during promotion. The great number of interceptions in this part of ground, make it necessary to weight and direct your pass more accurately keeping track of speed and positioning as well. The slow game speed does help in build up the high pressing Tiki Taka way but one great interception and you might find yourself racing to the backline to shield your goal from a long ball or fast paced counter attacks. The different types of passing namely ground pinged power passes, lofted power passes and rejuvenated impactful through ball passes make the midfield more dynamic. The increased rate of interceptions in midfield by inferring passing direction and cutting the lanes makes scope for great battles within the war. The crossing is said to be dynamic and what not by EA- to me its “reinvented” crossing. The slow game speed helps you to make crossing on the run with awkwardness and also gives you the time to stop running frantically along the lines, hold up the ball, look around & across and make those pin point crosses behind the defenders for your strikers to attack and head. This change in crossing has greatly changed the dynamics during corners and indirect free kicks. More so because now the stats of a player like crossing, curve etc. really are reflected in visuals.

Finally what begins out of the back, reaches its culmination through what is to be exquisite finishing. From last year onwards, finishing has been sweet- but this time with a good strike you feel it to be sweetened even more. The long range finishes are a treat for the eyes, while the occasional tap-ins feel more naturally coming. The volleys, bicycle kicks, driven free kicks, curled free kicks, drag backs and back heeled goals are more frequent this time but not over present. Scoring a sweet strike really feels great this year round. More so if you celebrate with the various celebration styles available !!!

It would be unjust to stop this long post without talking about two more critical aspects of the sports which are ever present and least used by general gamers – not by us though I guess!!! They are formations and tactics. The generally more prevalent formations this year are 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 with the 3-man defence formations being more popular down Southern Europe like Italy etc. There are variations to above formations, customized as per a team's need but a few more varieties being available like 4-5-1(wide) etc. makes the choice a bit more thought consuming. One additional player instruction has been introduced this time – Interceptions being aggressive, normal and conservative. The tactics can be customized as before for a style suitable per player with specific pre-defined options being available like long ball, pressing etc. The mentality like park the bus ,ultra attacking etc. continue to variant the gameplay along with in game switching tactics like swap wings, counter attack, defenders as strikers etc.

Overall FIFA 16 has moved in right directions with its gameplay while adding few wanted components specific to career mode –leaving us more wanting for some more new features to be added in upcoming edition next year. Till that happens, keep playing career mode – more beautifully!!!

          Joga Bonito Amigos!!!

Keano16 - Picking up some injuries, that must suck I do love your signings, espescially Aké. I'm curious to see how he develops for you, keep us posted about that Picking up some decent results. it's a shame that you drew against Milan, but it was away from home so it's understandable. Exciting season so far!

LukeWhu94 - You're gliding through your first season as West Ham's manager picking up results and building a strong squad. Looks like a fun career! Drawing again City and winning against Liverpool is really good. You're still in a Champion's League spot. Keep it up! (Y)

texasbum06 - You're having a tough season at Pompey. Sitting at the middle of the table must give you some extra motivation to push forward. Lets hope that you can set a winning streak and go up some more places, hopefully finishing in a promotion spot.

@texasbum06 - Powering Through, I know how you feel it's like a hidden rule of career mode, you can't end on bad form. 4 games unbeaten although a few draws is on the right track, only 4 points off the play offs now and who knows with a couple of wins could close the gap on that last automatic spot. Good to see you promoting a few from the academy, any with good potential?
Going on a cup run this year seems harder than ever but it's probably just because we are all adjusting to the game.

@OkDoei - I'm glad I'm not the only one who won't sell to spurs, I don't care what they offer. Results have been good recently, hitting some really good form and seem to be averaging at least 2 a game which is impressive. Where are you in the league now?
You done some good business in the window both buying and selling. I don't rate Gibbs at all and for the life of me can not see how he has been called up for England so £15 million is a good deal in my eyes. As for the signings, some good young talent and Rugani should prove to be a steal if he can live up to that potential.

Walcott is here to stay. He's important for the team and I wont sell him. I'm second in the BPL table right now, just behind Chelsea.

Look, the problem with Gibbs in real life is the fact that he hasn't developed in 2 years. He looked like a promising fullback a few years ago, but he never fulfilled his potential. Monreal is overpowering him in every aspect, even speed.

returning the subject to ingame, Gibbs was slowly getting my blessing halfway the season. He played some good games and I was prefering him over Monreal. But then he started losing form and picking up silly cards and making random own goals. Monreal proved to be way better, defending and in the passing game that Arsenal plays as well. Monreal's crosses are top notch, putting everything on the big forehead of Giroud. Giroud still misses quite a lot, so that's realistic...

I wasn't intending to sell Gibbs. I got a smashing offer of €25 Million in the summer transfer period, and that's when I turned to Mendy. But I decided to give Gibbs a change to prove me wrong. He didn't step his game up, so I sold him. Maybe could've got a bit more money for him, but I'm happy enough. Mendy is a bit slower but similar to Monreal. Great defending-wise and an excellent crosser. His stamina is his biggest aspect, so he can run the whole left wing up and down for 90 minutes. I just hope that he starts growing. He only has 80 potential on SoFifa, which is unrealistic and undeserved. He's been great for Marseille last season and he's waaaaay faster irl.

Rugani feels so good ingame, he's very tall and pacey as well. He looks like Mertesacker ingame, lol.

Which team do you support in real life?

                  Player of the Months

                  Rune Jarstein

Hertha BSC's scoring problems continued in the last three months and the team's top scorer was Salomon Kalou with only three goals. While the attackers weren't having a good time, one player stepped up in defence. The Norwegian goalkeeper, who overtook Thomas Kraft as the starting keeper, had impressive three months. Jarstein made several good saves in every game and he saved three penalties in the months of October and November.

                  My Thoughts

                  Attacking Play -
We haven't been able to score many goals this season and I'm not sure where the problem is. Maybe it's the strikers, maybe the build-up play. At least Hertha are having the same problem in real life.

Transfer Window - The transfer window is here and we have €10 million to spent. The question is, what to spend the money on? We don't really need anything in the team, and to be honest, I'm too attached to the players to replace them (Chico, anybody?). Probably the weakest point of the team is the striker position and central midfield. I'd love to hear some realistic-ish suggestions. By that I mean players from German, Belgian, Austrian, Dutch and Swiss leagues. Other Czech, German and Brazilian players are also welcome as Hertha have had many South Americans in the team.

Defence - We have kept many clean sheets this season but I can't say that our defence is that strong. The opposition has several shots in each game and usually it's the goalie who does the hard work.

Youth Academy - We have five players in our academy: M. Schäfer, a 56-ovr German winger who is 17; a 53-ovr German CAM who is 16 years old, a Japanese centre back, 17, and a Czech winger who is also 17. All of them have a potential between 75 and 94.

Thank you for reading this post! I hope you have enjoyed it! Any feedback or suggestions will be appreciated!

I Support West Ham, Had a season ticket since I was 6 and I can honestly say this is the best west ham team I have seen in my lifetime. First time there is real optimism around the club. I manged to find some here giving 100/1 on west ham to finish top 4 thought it was worth at least £10, if we can stop the individual errors and improve our home form I think we can get that 4th spot. It's a long shot but I feel we actually have a squad to compete this year and when you have Payet anything is possible.

@Simppu12 - no suprise to see Jarstein as player of the month after keeping that many clean sheets. Another one who went our of the cup early on, don't know what it is this year. Overall I would say a good month, a few minor setbacks but yoy seemed to bounce back from those as well as impressive draws with Bayern and Levurkusen.
Goal scoring seems to be all of our problems as the moment but you still seem to be up there in the league, maybe champions league at the end of the season?
€10mil is a decent amount for January and in would assume a striker is a priority. You could look at Embolo (Basel), Haller (Utretch), Sabitzer (Leipzig), Gabriel (Santos).
I would think that they should be within budget but not 100% on that.
I look forward to the next update.

Exciting season so far!
Yeah the injuries do suck but thankfully the squad is big enough to deal with it, and with there not being alot of games in Serie A we will pull through. Aké has been playing at LB in Radu's absence and has been solid despite his low Ovr, 67, and I hope he can fufill his potential.

You have been motoring well in the league and the cups. Icardi has been a good buy! You got good money for Gibbs seeing as you didn't want him. I look forward to seeing if you can sneak the title!

                          Manager's Thought's
The League - Up until the last 2 games we had been in some really good from, playing some good football. We were on a run of 5 consecutive clean sheets which was a good achievement but unfortunately 3 of those games were 0-0 which still shows the struggles we have in front of goal at times. We expeirences back to back league defeats for the first time this season with a shock home defeat to Palace and defeat to Chelsea who we have not beaten in 3 attempts now. On the plus side Payet managed to score 2 good goals which takes his goal tally to 8 for the season and he has been by far our best player and is looking like the front runner for the prestigious Hammer of the Year Award and with only 6 games to go, it is going to take something special for him not to win it. We still have the best defensive record in the league conceding only 22 from 32 games which is a remarkable record but we have managed just to 39 goals in 32 games which is just over 1 a game which in this division, isnt too good so its lucky that we are so good at the back. Up until the last 2 games we were suprisngly still in the title race and the longer we stayed in the race the more we wanted it but now 6 points behind we are focusing on securing european football and making it a season to remember, giving this ground the send off it deserves.

New Signings - The new signings have settled in perfectly. Dani Ceballos has managed 2 assists in his first 5 games with the club and I am convincd that he will have a bright future with us. For only £2,500,000 he is an absolute steal and hopefully he progresses with us. Demarai Gray is another youngster progressing nicely and has 1 assist in his first start for the club. He is showing real pace and looks a real threat on the counter attack, the ened product is sometimes missing but i'm sure that will improve as he gets more experience. Martin Odegaard looks a different class at times and was suprised that Real Madrid agreed to sell him at the end of his loan spell. He hasn't scored or assisted but looks so comfortable on the ball and is creating many chances for the attacking players. I will definatly be making him a permanent signing and for only £1,500,000 its another really good bit of buisness for the club. Danilo Pantic has found oppurtunities a bit limited in comparison to the others but has done really well in the games he has played. Another youngster who is comfortable in possesion and had a good eye for a pass creating 3 or 4 chances into the first half an hour of his debut so I am expecting big things from him in the future and again we will be looking to purchase him for £1,000,000 at the end of his loan spell with the club.

                          Standout Performer
                          Payet West Ham.jpg
                          Dimitri Payet - 8 goals & 5 assists
He has been a different class this season. He goes round players with such ease and has recently chipped in with 2 world class goals, curling a shot top corner from outside the box. I am hoping that we will be able to keep hold of him next season but should a to club like Real or Barca come knocking I won't stand in his way as in my opinion he could get into either midfield and not look out of place. I'm hoping he can continue the form he has showed all season and help get this club into the Champions League.

Thanks for reading, only 6 games to go now so next update will be the seasons last, any comments or suggestions are welcome

Well guys, I'm torn again. I fired up an old Swansea save earlier on and rebound my love for it and it's various youth players. It's in season 4 and I think I'm going to continue it alongside Lazio. Sorry for the constant switching, I really am.

There was only one player who was ever going to win this prestigious award and that player was Dimitri Payet. He was phenomenal for us this season chipping in with 10 goals and 5 assists which was impressive for his debut Premier League season. He was one of the few players who perfromed consitently all season alongside Adrian who was runner up for the award. At times Payet was truely unplayable, going round players with ease and then curling shots top corner from outside the area against international quality keepers and i'm sure next season he can get even better.

Overall I have to say I'm pleased with how the season went, 5th place which means we have qualified for the Europa League next season as well as reaching the Quarter FInals of the Capital One Cup but we will be hoping to build on that next season, try and go that one step further. We were in the title race for the majority of the season suspringly and the longer the season went on the more we beleived it was possible but sadly our form slipped towards the end of the season which saw us slip to fifth place, which is still an impressive finish. We have lost loaness Song, Jenkinson and Moses and I am yet to decide on whether we will try to make those deals permanent after inconsistent performances from them, however if I can get them for the right price I will try and make it happen.
For the upcoming season we have a huge budget of £49,500,000 so we will be looking to strengthen the squad and maybe look to bring in a big name player but we have already got a striker in Charlie Austin arriving on a pre contract (80ovr 86finishing) which I am delighted with and hopefully will address our issue of scoring goals last season.
The aim for the upcoming season will be the same as last season. We will be aiming for a top half finish and try and build on the cup run that we had last season which should we get the luck of the draw, be achievable.

                                Thanks for Reading.
