Too close for comfort. We'll need to do better in the next round.

This is what I'm dealing with when I talk about my Grimsby side underachieving. We had great form as of late, but now we just can't get it together. Nothing has really changed. I can't figure it out.

Well, to be fair, a loss on the road to the 9th placed team when you are just above the drop zone isn't the worst, or most unexpected, loss in the world.

What kind of tactics did you employ? In my findings, specifically with lower leagues, negative tactics tend to flourish.

Oh, and in order to win, you have to get shots on target.

You're right. It's not the worst in the world. And I'm 12 points clear of the relegation zone in Mid-March.

I forget what I'm using right now. I think it's a 4-2-2-2 Attack Formation with 2 strikers up front. It was working really well in the past few matches, I even had a run of 5 unbeaten. But now it's fluttering a bit, and my star striker that was averaging a goal or two a game can't finish. It's not that he's tired, but he's just shooting wide.

I'll adjust strategy during, from attacking, to counter, to control based on conceded minutes/flow of the game.

Could you explain "negative" tactics for me? I'm a bit slow when it comes to tactics

Not the result I was looking for. The away leg is going to be tough, need to score.

By negative, I mean very defensive. Often times in my experience grinding out a 1-0 win is enough in the lower leagues, especially if you have a star striker who can work on his own. Perhaps try a 4-4-2 diamond with an anchorman dmc if possible? Otherwise, a 5-4-1/4-1-4-1 (If you have a better dmc than defender) seems to have worked well for me.

When you are not one of the better teams in the league, playing attacking is dangerous imo.

I personally would suggest, at least to start, playing quite a bit more defensively when against top teams and on the road against upper midtable teams.

Well Whitesox I went with the 5-4-1. Was happy for most of it, drawing until late in the game when my team gave up a boneheaded penalty in the box.

                    We lost 2-1:

And that was it. They decided they didn't want to let me finish out the year. First time I've been sacked in this game. Heck might have been the first time I've made it to the middle of March.

So now I'm looking for a new job.

                      Damn.

Well, we have the league to look for now. I may only continue one more season with Aris, depending on if we get back into Europe or not.

Ouch. Unfortunate draw. How do you rate your chances for getting back into Europe next year?

Do remember for future reference that it takes a while for teams to adjust to new tactics, and they won't be playing at full potential in their first match.

Decided to show off my Barcelona youth team which I have been setting up my system to craft the next wave of players. I set my half of my scouts with the best potential scouting to attend games in all of the top country's youth leagues. They will email you when they find a player who is worth your attention.

Once I get the players in depending on age, nationality, and potential I sort them where they will start their development. The general set up is that players stay at the U-19 team until their 18(Sometimes 17 if their potential is great). Then they make their way for a year at Barca At. they have to have EU passport to play in this squad so non EU's stay in U-19's until able. Then a loan out to a another squad at around age 20.

Done talking heres my squad in 2013.

Already on our way to a great season.

Some of my best players under 19

Yeah im not worried about it. The press was buzzing for the past month about me being on the verge of a sack. I managed 48 games and we only won 16, so it was well on its way.

Pretty good chance, to be honest.

There isn't much to the league outside of Olympiacos, AEK, Aris, Panathinaikos, and PAOK. And considering Greece currently gets five places in Europe...

Anyway, my computer crashed and my last save was prior to the away leg at Auxerre, so I'll be replaying that. We'll see if I can get a better result...
