Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Beat Burnley 9-0 in the online save to increase my streak to 7 consecutive EPL games with 4 or more goals scored. Problem is, I'm only one point above pesky Man Utd. If I were in the Bundesliga like Tim, I'd be running away with the league.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
No you wouldn't, because I'd be there.
Working on the end of the season at Liverpool right now. Clinched the EPL title with 2 matches left. Up 2-1 after the away leg at Marseille in the CL finals. About to play leg 2 at home, and Manchester City awaits in the final. One thing FM gets wrong sometimes is scheduling at the end of the season. After my final EPL match, I have Blackburn in the FA Cup semis on a Wednesday, then a waiting Chelsea in the final 3 days later. Then the CL final would be 2 weeks later.
And if you're wondering, nomar, Ajax knocked Lyon out in the quartersLast edited by ImTellinTim; 06-27-2012, 05:59 PM.Comment

I do like it because there's no work permit regulations or anything like that. The teams qualified for promotion play against teams facing relegation from the league above so it can be tough if you don't flat out win (like I did last year. Lost right away in playoffs like 5-3 on aggregate.)
Only main gripe I have (not worried about league prestige or anything yet) is that game day sides are starting 11 and only 4 subs. That's another reason I play with the formation I do (aside from now being able to score more).
Its...
GK
DL - DC - DC - DR
MCL - MC - MCR
STL - ST - STR
My reserve team is always GK, D RLC, MC, ST so I can have one sub for every single position on the pitch until sub rules change higher up.
The only thing that makes me want to rage quit at times is the horrible and inconsistent level of play in lower level leagues.

You do see some, let's say, "interesting" things playing in the lower leagues. Before I'm done with 12, I'll be returning to that for some variety.Comment

The state of Italy in 2020:

Brescia wins it on the first tiebreaker, results between teams. With a 10-loss campaign.Comment

Wow!
<a href="http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j84/imtellintim/?action=view&current=3peat.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j84/imtellintim/3peat.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
In extra time tied 2-2, I brought on 19-year-old Swedish striker Anders Lindberg for Leandro Damiao with 10 minutes left for penalty rating reasons. All he did was score 2 goals to clinch the Liverpool three-peat! Woo!
After 4 straight doubles, the treble is finally mine!
Now it's time for Euro 2020 with the Dutch. My group is Bosnia & Herzegovina, Poland, and Ukraine.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 06-27-2012, 10:48 PM.Comment

I'm up to Tweede Klasse now. Diegem won promotion by taking the division by 19 points.
About 10 games in now, start of season goal was to avoid relegation. Still semi-pro status. Currently sitting in 4th.
My goal is to be promoted once more to the top league (Juliper Pro League) within 4 years and avoid relegation.badComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well, I had been sober for 8 months, but the other day I fell off the FM wagon. My addiction is back
Started back up my Manchester United save. We were in January, 2 points off the lead.
Didnt sign anyone, and immediately made my way into the Carling Cup Final against Arsenal and dispatched of them for the first silverware of the season.
And then came the **** up. Mid March, have a 3 point lead over the noisy neighbors. Facing Bolton at home. We go down a goal, and tie it up after the break. Instead of settling for a tie, I went for the second goal, and in stoppage time Bolton score and win the game.
Next the FA Cup semis against liverpool. Lose 1-0. Next game, liverpool again in the league. Lose 3-2. City never lose once in the run in. To make matters worse, I was drawn against City in the UCL semis. Lose the first leg 3-0, season over.
I was provided with one highlight near the end of the season, and it came from FM Legend David Mullins

BTW, the U23 team is only for the Olympics, so you'll be out of an international job when that's over. The nice thing about it is doing well gives you a little rep boost and experience and countries will offer you jobs later on.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
You don't really have to do anything outside of selecting your squad. Just do a player search on South Korean players, click the option to exclude players in the national pool, and add the best ones to your national pool. Then select your team each time you have a friendly or competition. There really isn't too much to managing a national team.

So just be aware that if South Korea hasn't already qualified for the Olympics, they may only be hiring you to see them through qualification.Comment
