Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

And with Manchester United, I had a fire sale, getting rid of all the youngsters who weren't going to amount to anything.

Then I went ahead and splurged on a £45m Striker. About the size of what's left on the Glazer debt.

And lol at this agent who does not like me at all. I'm in contract negotiations with my RB(England International), his contract ends in 12 months. His wages are $17M a year and he wants $30M a year to re-sign.
Don't you EVER read my blog? It's gotten a lot better.

Have you walked away without offering anything in the past? I've found that quickly angers them, as does lowball offers. There's one agent in my RM save that refuses to even talk to me, even though his client has said he'd love to play for me.

UCL revenue is huge compared to Europa League revenue. Focus on the UCL if you think you can pull it out. You're Spurs though...your squad should be deep enough to focus on both.

            EDIT:
Then again your Spurs and trophies mean more than money. **** it. Go for whatever you think will bring in the most silverware. With Almeria, I did whatever I could to get TV revenue because La Liga gives minimal TV money, hence I focus on continental competitions (not that I've progressed farther than the quarterfinals of the Europa League haha).

How likely is it that you can get into the knockout rounds of the CL? You should always try to get as far as you can in the CL for the money.

If there is no hope, focus on the league. I believe the difference in prize money between say 1st and 3rd place in the EPL is greater than what you'd make if you have a run in the Europa League, which is where you'd go if you finished 3rd in your group. There isn't nearly as much prize and TV money in the Europa.

My RB? Don't think I have, hell, I signed him to QPR for big money, then brought him over to United for big money.

I probably pissed off the agent with another client of his. Oh well, at least his huge, unwarranted wages will go off the books

3 points out of 9 and a pretty bad goal difference. I think Im like only a point or two out of first in the league.

2 out of the 3 CL games are at the Emirates, and i just got RVP and Vermaalen back. Their back up striker Park-Chu Young has been awesome for me.

Im at work so im going off my head. Lille first, then either Villareal or Napoli second.

Beat Napoli, lost to Villareal at the Emirates, and got spanked by Lille. Hazard tore me up. Its quite bad i only got 3 out if that. Chamakh is crap and RVP was still out.

If the next game wasn't Spurs, I would definitely rest some important players. I also go KO'd from the Carling Cup, so match congestion isn't as much of an issue. Might just go for it.

Park was TERRIBLE for me in the online save. His bags were already packed months before the first transfer offer came in. I don't know what kind of magic or selling your soul to the devil you had to pull to make him play well, but the first season of the online save might have gone a lot different if he didn't miss sitter after sitter.

First season in Serie A is going well. Halfway through the season we're sitting in 4th. Inter has a nice lead in the league at the moment.

                            Inter - 47
                            Milan - 42
                            Palermo - 38
                            Sampdoria - 35
                            Napoli - 33
                            Juventus - 33
                            Pescara - 31
                            Lazio - 28

Since I have a legit shot at some CL action next year, I decided to make a couple January moves. The first was something that was inevitably going to happen at some point. I had Marco Verratti on the shortlist waiting for a Serie A side to come in. Someone made a bid, so I had to swoop in to buy him for 2.7 mil. The other move was a 1.1 mil loan deal for Sampdoria legend Antonio Cassano. He wasn't getting playing time at Milan, so I'm hoping he'll be happy to be back and keep us in a CL spot.

We haven't exactly been scoring a lot, but we don't give up goals. Through 19 matches, the GD is 21-12 for a record of 10-5-4. A lot of those draws are 0-0 on the road, lol. Our home record is 9-0-1 with a 17-2 GD, the only loss being 0-1 to Milan. We're basically a slightly better version of Stoke.

The black mark on the season is losing our first Coppa Italia match. An upset loss against Serie B side Empoli 1-2 at home.

EDIT: Well, I guess Verratti will not be helping the squad much this season. In his first match with the team, he has been injured for the rest of the season - 4 months with a broken foot. Thankfully, CM is by far our strongest position and I have plenty of cover for this. Very disappointing though.

Are you at some point going to spring for everyone's favorite long-distance shooter, Sigurdsson?

Also, Verratti at 2.7 mil is one hell of a bargain.
