Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Mourinho has just praised my managerial skills as I have Inter sitting second in Serie A after 12 games. A few days later he blasted me for not playing Wallace on loan from Chelsea to aid in his development as part of the deal. First time I have ever seen this in FM and thought it was a nice touch!Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Having a lot of fun so far. Started at Aston Villa and I've won my first two friendlies, scoring a total of six goals (albeit, not the best opponents). I LOVE the ability to customize tactics and formations. The depth of which you can adjust what you do is incredible.
Right now I'm getting the guys to learn a counter-based 4-5-1, which seems to really play into Benteke's strengths. The one thing I've noticed is that if you have two different formations that you're trying to implement, the one that is not the current formation doesn't keep the positions steady (Benteke goes from ST to WM, for example). Hopefully that gets fixed upon release.
So far so good though. This has been a lot of fun and my wife has been less than pleased with the amount of time I'm spending with this game.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I'd recommend adding a few leagues simply because, if you don't, teams outside your playable leagues won't have too many players...then you start seeing fake players for bigger clubs, and that's no fun. And if you're doing, say, a national team, you'll want to include national team guys/higher rep guys, from inside your region and beyond to make the competitions more realistic (customizing your database where it gives you choice of small/medium/huge)
Any impressions on the MLS and the US in general? I skipped FM 13 so additions like the US Developmental Academy is new to me. Do most of the GA players come from that team?Comment

England, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, US, Mexico, Brazil. 3 1/2 star game speed which is decent. You could certainly switch up US and Mexico for maybe Holland and Belgium which are good leagues/nations to have loaded.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
My current save has just N. Ireland loaded, but I've got a custom database.
Africa - Top Division Clubs, Current International Players, Players from clubs in Continental Competitions
Asia - Top Division Clubs, Current International Players, Players from clubs in Continental Competitions
Europe - Top Clubs, Current International Players, Players from clubs in Continental Competitions
North America - All players
Oceania - All players
South America - Top Division Clubs, Current International Players, Players from clubs in Continental Competitions
That's 74,000 players loaded for me. I'll generally at some point starting adding nations in in-game when I feel the time is right.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Something like ~95 leagues from ~35 nations (I chance it up slightly every game, but its always around those numbers.)
Even though it says .5 stars, the game runs fine. It's a bit slower in terms of sim speed, but not terrible at all on my machine.Last edited by ubernoob; 10-20-2013, 07:12 AM.badComment

I go all out as well. Everything runs smoothly but of course the sim may take longer than usual. I am also working with 16 GB of ram so I guess that helps.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Just found this, and as soon as my DB gets all set up I'm gonna try it out.
Figured I'd share it - I don't know how well it works/if anything is missing yet.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Has anyone seen a Financial Fair Play guide floating around? I know it's early, but I thought there might have been a bit more help with it. There is an explanation of it on the rules screen but is there anything more in-depth anywhere?Comment
