So how has life been since taking over at Derby?

      Pretty good I say.

Here's the table at the beginning of 2017.

Being 11 points up right now is more than I can ask for. Tom Ince has been amazing, 11 goals and 5 assists and EPL teams are coming for him. My midfield duo of Craig Bryson and Jeff Hendrick are both putting up averages of 7.8 for the season. The team has just been on fire pretty much.

All I need to do is add a second striker and strengthen the defense more and prepare for promotion.

Well after the stressful experience of Recreativo, Hertha Berlin has provided some nice reprieve. Board only expects me to avoid automatic relegation and after making over the entire team, we're sitting in 5th headed into the winter break. I expect we fall to 10th or so as I don't think we'll be able to replicate our first half, but its been so much better than Recreativo it's not even funny.

Well, I wasn't able to save Hannover from relegation. In fact, I didn't even do any better than they did in real life. I did exactly the same. Finished with same points in the same position. Some games had different results than real life, but the end result was exactly the same. And I got fired right after the last game of the season.

Mostly going to depend on your computer. But even a high end machine will struggle with lots of them.

This might be my most impressive season campaign on any FM version.

It's March 18th. There's still 7 games to go. Happy that we got to clinch it at home and lift the trophy in front of our fans. I'm just ecstatic.

Now we can take this time and just give some youngsters some time. Next year the goal is to avoid the drop, unless a team comes in that we just can't decline.

EDIT: Ended up setting the record for most points in the Championship with 110.

Was in 2nd place, chance to qualify for CL if I just drew against the 17th ranked side in final game. But we lost 7-2 and fell to 4th place and missed out on CL.

                  **** this game

I have a cup final next week but don't even feel like playing.

So I'm going through the offseason, adding players here and there, getting my youth backroom set up so we can get the most out of them (both U21 and U18 sucked last season, I won't stand for that while we have some guys with great potential here while they get their 3 years of training in).

And then Canada beats the US for the Gold Cup.

So now Jurgen is out, and US Soccer has approached me for the job.

I'm really torn on what to do. Either I take the challenge of staying up or take the challenge of trying to win a World Cup.

This would be easier if Derby had offered me an extension.

Yes you can. Taking an international job won't automatically cause you to leave your club job. You would have to manually resign.

I mean, technically I could do both, but:

                          1) The time it would take me to get through one season would increase drastically (I'm in Summer 2017, and I'm not sure, but I think the US is struggling to qualify for the WC, so making sure I get the players right is key).

2)The board was upset when I didn't completely shoot down the idea.

Once I get home, I think I will just see where they are in terms of qualifying and make my decision from there.

                                Up to the Championship!

It was a great season. Spent most of it around the 4-7th range, but made a charge towards the end and gained automatic promotion!

Also, my financial situation was bolstered a bit by a new chairman. The new board took out a loan to cover the current debts (replacing debt with more debt, lol) and cover the day-to-day running of the club.

                                Also, this!

So after this season I'll have a shiny new stadium to play with. My main focus is obviously, most importantly, don't get relegated. But I'm really going to focus on continuing to bring in free transfers. I have a couple guys I brought in for free a year or two ago who have been great players for me; my plan is to sell them off, just to try and stabilize the finances a bit and build a bit of a bankroll.

Took me two years to get promoted from League 2 to League 1, and 2 years to get promoted from League 1 to the Championship. This is always the hardest part for me; I've never made it from League 2 to the EPL. Usually stall out in the Championship. I really think I have the setup to make the jump and make it to the top flight with Wimbledon!
