Once I get home, I think I will just see where they are in terms of qualifying and make my decision from there.
I was just offered the USA Head Coach job, and I reeeeeally wanted to accept it, but I figured, it's hard enough to manage one team, much less two. And the fact that I'm bracing myself (hopefully not) for a relegation battle now that I'm in the Championship, didn't want to have the added distraction.

But I was pretty damn close to accepting it.

In this old save (pre winter update, where none of these changes for pep, conte and mou, etc, were programed in) Jose is still with Chelsea. Still winning titles. However Klopp did have a spell with Arsenal, and he did win a title with them. Conte has been at City for 5 years. United has had a row of managers come through. The only one to win anything was Sinisa Mihajlovic, their current manager. Ex Milan manager. Philip Cocu has been with Liverpool since Klopp left. Won a couple EL's and some cup titles. Ex PSV manager. Pep is with PSG, crushing France. Since he left Bayern they haven't won anything. Wayne Rooney has managed Newcastle, Derby and now Norwich. Gary Cahill is the current Derby manager. Messi is the Independiente Reserves manager.

Also the game got this years CL correct. RM beating Atletico 1-1 on penalties in the final.

            Spoiler

Anyone wants to know about a team or player/coach in this save let me know. I find this stuff interesting myself. Comparing how things turn out between saves.

Drawn into Group F with Argentina, Togo and Croatia.

Should make it out the group, but if we don't beat Argentina, Germany awaits us in the knockout rounds.

Speaking of, Group E is probably the Group of Death, with Canada (who just won the Gold Cup btw), the Swiss and Ghana in the group with Germany

So, an update on the world Pre-World Cup:

England: Man United (with van Gaal still in as manager) won the Prem over Man City (who have brought back Pellegrini). Spurs and Arsenal round out the top 4. City won the FA Cup, Leicester won the League Cup (but finished in 14th and fired Ranieri, selling Mahrez to Barca last season probably played a part in that. Chelsea and Liverpool finished 5th and 6th for the other Europa spots. The most surprising development of the season was the fall of Everton, who finished in 18th.

All three teams who were promoted stayed up, led by QPR in 11th. Norwich, Hull and Nottingham Forest join the top flight next year.

Kun won the FWA POY and Golden Boot, Ozil won the PFA POY, and Luke Shaw was YPOY.

Spain: Atletico won La Liga over Barca, while Real Madrid finished in 4th behind Sevilla. Real also managed to lose the Copa de Rey to Valencia. The Barca top 3 swept POY, with Messi winning it. Ronaldo did score 27 goals though.

France: PSG did the double, Monaco won the Coupe de Ligue. I would try to tell you who won what awards, but I can't decipher French.

Germany: Bayern won the league over Dortmund. Leverkusen finished 3rd, Schalke came in 4th and won the Pokal. Paulo Dybala won POY (came over last season from Juventus for $80M).

Italy: Speaking of Juventus, they ran away with the league. AC Milan and Roma both qualified for the CL (Roma won the TIM Cup).

Europe: Bayern made it a double with a win in the CL over Atletico in extra time. Barca and Juventus was the rest of the final four. Roma beat Milan in an All-Italy Europa Final.

and finally, here is the 23 that are on the flight to Russia:

Been playing this old save. Was at Hamilton doing okay. But in the off season was offered and accepted the Sheff Wed job. They have been in the BPL for 5 years now. Old manager was canned after they barely avoided relegation last season. We were doing pretty good early, couple wins, couple draws, no loses...

Back in December I was playing fm16 but my computer couldn't handle it very well. A few weeks ago that computer completely stopped working so I had to get a new one. Luckily for me that means the football manager addiction is back.

Anyway, I started a new save with Roma (I wanted to use a larger club to get back into the swing of the game) and man I missed this game.

With almost $14 mil in transfer funds I went out and made two depth signings in winger Anwar El Ghazi from Ajax for $8 mil and Italian goalkeeper Marco Silvestri from Leeds for $2.3 mil. The only major departure was Morgan De Sancits for $1 mil because he wanted to go to a bigger club which apparently was Fiorentina.

Now with the transfers out of the way it's time for games. We kicked off the league with a 3-0 win over Fiorentina led by a Pjanic hattrick and followed that performance up with two 2-0 wins over Verona and Atalanta. In the champions league we drew Athletico, Benfica, and Gent which we kicked off with a 2-0 victory at home against Gent. Our best player so far has been Lucas Digne with 5 assists in 4 games to go along with solid defense.

That's currently where I am right now and I'm itching to play some more.
