    Change of plans.

Torino finished 7th last season, so the squad already has some quality. I'm replacing Siniša Mihajlović who, funny enough, left earlier this summer for PSG.

I love it, youth intakes are cool because you get some players from African countries as well. I like having 2 cup competitions too. Oh and **** PSG

Just started a FC Romania/Romania national team save. FC Romania play in 9th division in English leagues and I get Romanian regens. Trying to get my team to play like Sarri's Napoli side irl, probably won't work.

Beating PSG as Arsenal shouldn't be terribly difficult. Struggling to make ends meet and make money while watching your team go on an inspiring winning run only to realize PSG won the title a month and a half ago is just... yuck.

Also, in the spirit of my suggestion, if anyone wants a character in the US Pyramid, coach/player/whatever, shoot me a PM with what you want and I'll add you to the final version. I'll stop adding people this Friday.

My first 10.0 rating! I've had some really high ones before, like 9.8, but never had a perfect 10.0

4 goals and 2 assists will do that for you, I suppose!

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

Year 5 of my Journeyman save, 2nd year at FC Platanias in Greece, is officially in the books.

What a year for us! After last year's largely mediocre performance, we came out with a real purpose this year. Finished 4th in the league, and qualified for the Europa League!!

I'm super stoked. This feels like a big step in my career, and I'm hoping that a reputation boost comes with it. I believe since we got the 2nd Europa League spot, we'll have to enter in the qualifying round, and win our way into the group stage. Regardless, it will be great exposure for the club, and I'm hoping that a nice payday will come with it. Just 2 seasons ago I was managing in the Czech 2nd division, and now next season I could be playing some real legit and powerful clubs in European football!

This was the best ever finish in the club's history. Previous high was 7th. It was a really solid year all the way through, the lowest we ever were in the table was 5th.

For a while this season, it looked like Olympiacos might slip up, and relinquish their absolute stranglehold of the league. They've won 19/22 Championships since 2000, the other 3 years they let Panathinaikos win. Anyways, as of December 4th, nearly halfway into the season, they were a very mortal 6-4-3, sitting in 5th or 6th in the table. Then they finished the season like this:

The key to the season was really the transfers we made. Looking back at my update after last season, here's what I needed:

There's not really one thing we do exceedingly well or exceedingly poor. It should be an interesting off-season, because I feel like we could improve in all phases of the game. Not quite sure what I'm going to focus on, but I'll likely need to find another starting level CB, and I'd like to have a creative midfield player, that's likely what I'll aim for.

All in all, not a bad first year, I'm going to shoot for an upper-mid table finish next season.
One thing I feel like I struggle with in this game is the transfer market. I feel like I always have trouble identifying my targets, and following through on signing them. But, not to pat myself on the back, we nailed it this year.

Got Mimito Biai from Portugese club Olhanense, he's a rock solid CDM, which is where I had my best player all season last year, Pierreck Cros. Cros is a natural CB, so signing Biai allowed me to move Cros back to CB really solidified the back line. Adding Johnson Salte, a Lyon castoff, provided solid CB depth.

Dimitris Limnios on a free from PAOK was just great business. He finished the season with the highest rating on the team, 7.71, playing left mid. Jose Aurelio Suarez was transfer listed at Valladolid from Spain, and I was able to get him, he was great in goal for me all year.

It was really one of those rare times in my FM career where all my transfers came together and really contributed in a meaningful way.

Really excited for next year to try my hand at the Europa League!

I blew a 1-0 in the first leg of the Europa League Knockout stage...to Tottenham. I let my players in no uncertain terms how I felt about that one.

However, since Victor Wanyama made a silly 2 footed tackle on Jack Wilshere in the 2nd leg, I went to Wembley and beat Spurs 3-0 in the 2nd leg.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

We won the league very comfortably. Made it to the semi-final of the FA vase, knocked out by Plymouth Argyle reserves 3-2 agg. Money is okay. No news on the staff front.

Those youth players, we only have four of them left. They all left for smaller clubs and immediate first team football. We've lost 9 first team players to bigger clubs who are giving them actual money contracts. Finding replacements has been tricky. I'm over paying a little just to have someone who is decent in a few positions. But we are getting by. One of the four youth players is now in the first team also.

Board demanded promotion by winning the league this season (which would be two in a row). And we were slight favorites to win the league in the media. But its been a much tougher season so far. More games, tougher teams and a smaller squad. Need to get promoted so we are forced into giving everyone semi-pro contracts so we can stop the revolving door of players.

Whats happened so far this season.

Oh and I forgot this happened. I've never had this brexit before.

YESSSSSS. I've been waiting for FM18 to be on sale until I purchased it (was still playing 16)...caught it on steam for 25% off with just 29 minutes to go on the sale. Game downloading. Let's go boys!!!

No idea what I'm going to do first. Want to try a true journeyman as I haven't made it more than 1 or 2 seasons in one of those before. My last save was a climb from the lower levels of England, so I may ignore that for a while (although it is very fun).

                          Any suggestions?

EDIT: Doesn't seem to be a FM 18 file in my documents and sports interactive so I can put some of the sortitoutsi files in..did they move where the folder is?

If you haven't launched the game, the folders haven't been generated yet.
