Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I've been playing entirely way too much FM recently. I might have to take a break for a few days.
The title was not to be. But we managed to win the playoffs and get promoted!
We won both playoff games 2-0, but we FM'd both teams. They out played us and we some how managed to win both games.
So next season its the Vanarama North. But I predict a struggle next season. Maybe even a relegation battle. Probably going to have to try to lean heavy into loans. But the ones I have now are rejecting another year.
And we are now 100K in debt. Plus we just took out a 130K loan to add more seating to the stadium because of new league requirements. The new guy got an affiliate, but hasn't put any money into the club. We aren't spending crazy wages either. We just don't make money on gate receipts or season tickets. We only average 250 people to a home game.
And for those interested, everyone's profile pages.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So I've decided to start a new save(mostly due to seemingly unresolvable squad registration issues in my NA Pyramid. I decided I was going to build/rebuild a club, and I pre-selected 14 clubs, and whichever one fired their manager, and didn't hire an interim in 7 days would be the first I joined.
The catch - after reading extensively about Brentford's abandonment of their academy, I decided that I would never request improvements, nor would I attempt to raise the Junior Coaching budget. Instead I'm going to focus on scouting youth players and signing/developing 18+ players that don't make the cut in the top divisions.
I ended up at Port Vale in League Two, sitting third bottom in November.Support Local Sports

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I don't remember if I updated the file, the first file I uploaded had an issue where the squad registration dates were exclusively in the next calendar year, so teams never got the opportunity to register players during the first part of the season.
I managed to fix that, however, now AI teams simply won't register players.Support Local Sports

First season in Italy was a success. Gutted to lose to Inter in the cup final, but I'm really looking forward to the Champions League next season. I also took over Argentina U23s for the Olympics just for fun.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
After 8 games in the WC qualifiers, I was 1st with 20 points, England had 19. Faced them on the 9th match so if I won that match I automatically qualify, and well....
Edit: Did beat Hungary next match so I qualified for the WC after finishing 3rd best for 2nd placed teams.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So first season in the VNLN was a shocker. These loan kids carried us.
Also to note, Bromsgrove, South Shields and Spennymoor were the four promoted teams into this division.
And we made it all the way to the playoff final, but Hereford was having none of our magical run...
So another season in the VNLN. However once again none of the five loans wants to stay for another year. And two of our players want to leave end of their contract because they are upset we didn't go up. I'm hoping we can make the playoffs again, but I'm having a hard time finding players as good as these 7 leaving right now.
Also this happened, and it confused me as to why it happened. I turned it down, but now I kind of regret doing so.
