£150/week! I now rent a room in an unfinished basement from a person who probably has dead bodies stored somewhere in the house. Good deal on rent though. And although ramen is still a major staple of the diet, I have started to mix in some Easy Mac.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I have so much to post about the season I just played in two days. But I wont, so this post wont be a mile long. I played every game. Sitting in my bed nursing this flu. And, I just, wow. Next season is gonna suck so hard.
I'll start with this.
Finished fifth in our first season in the VNL! Took the long way around of finding our form too. And then chocked away the title at the end.
Second to last game of the season we played Newport. Both on 78 points in first and third. We drew with them 2-2 and took us to second. Then in the final game of the season we lost 3-1 to the team in 24th. Because of course. Why fight for the title when a team already relegated can just push you around.
And then some how managed to not let that loss affect us and won the playoffs! Insane nonsense. Against the team that won the playoffs last year to come up with us (Boston United). And they finished higher in the league than us this time around. This game is so weird some times.
Here is the final table:
After losing the first five games of the season, and by large margins, I was fully expecting a relegation battle. But then out of nowhere our form turned and it was a slow rise up the league. Never had a season like this.
But now we are ****ed. Hard. Another loan to upgrade the stadium again. And to turn professional. Have to convert all contracts, and everyone wants way too much money. Including staff. And we still aren't breaking 600 people to home games. So I can't see how this is going to go well for us. I should have tanked the playoff final and stayed down.
Also this just happened:
Never seen a chairman only want to be a semi-pro chairman. So now we are in take over talks, and I can't do any moves to try and bolster the squad cheap before I'm forced to give them pro contracts.
Its going to be a dumpster fire next season. I know I say this all the time. But I can't see how we don't go straight back down. It will take a miracle to keep us up. Its either run the risk of administration or get relegated.
I feel like this is all a flu/medicine fever dream. And none of it actually happened. I should take another nap.

I was feeling extremely ambitious, so I started in employment save and got hired by Sunderland. 6 points from 6 so far.
I’m hoping to sign a big German named Christiansen on a free as a destroyer CDM to complement Jack Rodwells insanely overpriced talents. A championship player on 92k/week.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I forgot League 2 had decent TV money.
That is huge. Even if we go straight back down. If, who am I kidding.
Oh and I've never, ever seen this in FM before.
So with a fan take over, does that mean there is a chairman election every couple of years (or every year) or something now? Voted on by the share holder fans? I've managed clubs in the past that had the elections. But I never really looked into it. I assume this is one of those setups?
EDIT: Yup, that is what it means. And I also just read that I can be voted out of my job if I make them unhappy. That sucks. This is the worst possible take over.Last edited by Zac; 03-12-2018, 04:54 PM.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
After finishing the year in the Championship Group(5th) and winning the DBU Pokalen(one year removed from losing in the first round to a Danmarksserien club) I was excited to bring money into the club. I knew it was going to be a long shot, but I had hope that I'd be able to make it through the Europa League qualifying rounds to get some of that group stage cash...
Well, there's always next year... maybe..Support Local Sports

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So my 1st year in La Liga has been a struggle, as expected. I'm in a 10 game winless streak ( 4 draws and 6 losses) and I have to play a top of the table Barcelona, awesome.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
After getting a fantastic 1-1 result at Energi Viborg, we unfortunately succumbed to defeat in Sevilla, losing 2-0. Netted a nice 209k though. Now I'm focused on finishing third in Championship Group, due to our rise in coefficients, that should be an auto group stage spot for Denmark!Support Local Sports
