Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

After 21 days off since my loss to United I traveled to Turf Moor.

Am sign of rust was quickly shaken off when Pavluycheno scored 57 seconds in. He scored a second at 13'. Apparently the change to putting Pavy at Target Man, Support, Hold Ball up paid off.

This match looked in the bag until Alan Hutton got sent off on a straight RC for a challenge on Caldwell. Burnley then scored before the stroke of halftime to make it 2-1.

Pavy came out in the 2nd half & got his hattrick at the 60' mark, then Woodgate (in his first action of the season) scored on a header from a corner (my first corner goal all year also). Burnley had a player sent off on a straight Red with 20' to play.

The final ended up being 4-1, I dominated Burnley despite being a man down for nearly an hour. Pavyluchenko had a great match, and Gomes made the key stops when necessary.

After another United win I'm still sitting in 2nd on 20 points through 9 matches (on pace to finish with approximately 84 points!), United has 25 (on pace for whopping 105 points.....they can't keep that pace up can they?). chelsea & arsenal are slowly climbing the table, looking to join City & l'pool in a fight for 3rd & 4th place.

Valdes in FM is actually quite good. He doesn't make the same mistakes as he does IRL and I like him. Asenjo is my long-term target because he's young, good, and Spanish. Besides, with Puyol and Pique in defense, I don't concede much. Ochoa is good in FM 10 but I'm not sure about Ustari. I'll have a peek later on

I love Busquets too and he's going to be playing a lot for me the next while with Toure at the ACN. He's really developing well

I love my attacking options though. I wouldn't mind a left-winger this summer though to replace Henry. I've kept Marquez only to have him tutor my players as well as maybe be a coach down the road.

      Will keep you guys posted...

So is Steven Jovetic worth it over....say David Silva. I'm about to loan him for 2 million with a 12 million future fee. Is he worth it or should I just loan him, return him back to Fiorentina and sign Silva for an exorbitant amount lol

Can't believe you got Adu to go to a League 1 side

Ochoa is probably the better of the 2. That being said Ustari was outstanding for me in my FM 09 save.

Though for some reason never got any time for the national team.

Seems like my Millwall save got corrupted. Won't advance past a certain date, game crashes.

Contemplating where I'm going to go from here.

Well, I've decided to start fresh with Dartford F.C. using Super Bladesman's English National League Update, which greatly extends the English league structure, although I would assume a lot of you know that.

I'm going to try and stick with this for the long hull, and play this save for a good while. Dartford is currently in the 7th tier of the English league structure.

Tough decision....sign Jovetic or stick to Spanish only plan? I've only signed 3 players all Spanish with a 4th on his way. Jovetic would be nice for my team right now with Henry aging and Pedro able to shifty wings and Assulin in the pipeline

                      Oh such a dilemma lol

Asenjo is phenomenal in FM 10. You can never go wrong with him.

Go with Jovetic. Barca has no rules about not signing non-spanish players, so go with the player(s) that make the most logical financial & tactical sense.

I try to look for UK based talent in my Spurs game, but I would sign a player from Yemen or the US is they were deemed good enough for my squad.

I'm still thinking about it. I actually really like Jovetic IRL and loaning him wouldn't be a bad idea as I do need some depth for my wingers.

He might be good and all, but signing him would break a cardinal rule for me: any transfer target of liverpool is no transfer target of mine.
