Here is a screamer that Fernando Torres scored for me.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

Against my better judgement, I stayed up to finish season 4 with Liverpool tonight. 2nd place Premier League finish behind Tottenham, who started off an amazing 22-0-0 and held on. Bayern got their Champions League revenge on us by knocking us out in heartbreaking fashion in extra time of the second leg of the first knockout round. I had taken the lead with an away goal in the 97th, meaning they needed two. Unfortunately, the first came in the 98th and they followed with another in the 106th to knock us out.

The highlight was winning an incredible 4th straight FA Cup. I've been getting quite lucky with the draws, but still have to beat the teams put in front of me. That would be 18 wins in a row and 26 straight without losing in the FA Cup.

Now it is time to look forward to the World Cup with Uruguay. We are ranked 5th in the world, but drew probably the 2nd toughest group with Italy, USA, and Iran. A pre-WC friendly with Belgium will be the tune-up before the first group match with the Italians.

Here's a good download. It adds and changes hundreds of lines of the match commentary. There are some hilarious ones in there.

Yeah, I have that. it's great.

Well, I took the Tunisian National Team job and am on the verge of qualifying for the WC.

My first year in Serie B had Cosenza battling to stay up all year long. With four matches left in the season, we were five points clear of the relegation zone. I applied and took a job at Tijuana in the Mexican Primera, since it's a higher rep than Serie B, and also because my board at Cosenza hates me, refusing to let me have a parent club, and restricting my max wage to 45,000, despite secure finances. In other words, there were prospects for success. After leaving for Tijuana, the Cosenza assistant took over and the club lost 4 straight to poor/mediocre teams, getting relegated.

With that commentary pack, I just scored two late goals to wrap up an away match 3-1, and it said "All your base are belong to us."

Yeah, it's hilarious. How'd you do in the WC, btw?

Lost in the quarters to Slovakia (on a ridiculous own goal in extra time) after beating Argentina in the first knockout round.

I would have been so pissed if I went out that way.

So I qualified with Tunisia for the WC and the ACN. It's weird that they do WC and ACN quals at the same time. Every squad selection would be for both competitions.

As for Tijuana, things are going way better than they were at Cosenza in Serie B. Whereas after getting Cosenza promoted I was battling relegation all season, I'm currently unbeaten with Tijuana through the first two months of the season. Unfortunately, the board only has my job performance as "satisfied," because they say they aren't going to rate my performance in the league at this moment. Since they're a newly promoted side predicted to finish 14th in the Mexican Primera, and since I'm currently in 1st place, I'm performing way above expectations. I want a "delighted," damn it!

The World Cup groups were drawn:

This was a pretty tough draw for me. Italy should be a loss, Canada should be a win, so it'll all come down to the match against Ireland. Beat them, and I'm in the knockout stages, but that will be no easy feat.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

So I finally got to start my first real game save over the holidays. I'm managing Spurs again, it's just too difficult not to manage my home side.

Anyway, after a blistering preseason (scored about 40 goals while conceding a mere 2 [both in a span of 10' against Huddersfield]) using my 4-2-3-1 I faced Fenerbache in a Champions League playoff match at WHL.

This result didn't go as planned. I ended up drawing 1-1 at home, leaving me a very difficult away trip to Turkey to try to qualify for CL group play. I know Fenerbache is a step up from 3rd & 4th division sides in England & Belgium that I faced in the preseason, but my players just came out completely stale in my first meaningful match. Van der vaart was tired so I threw him on with a half hour left, but couldn't find the goal I needed despite pelting shots at the away goal.

Now 4 days later I open the EPL season at Sunderland, with the away leg against Fenerbace looming 3 days after that. Needless to say this is not a good start to the campaign.

I turned off the first transfer window budgets, so my squad remains as real life default. I'm not sure how I'm going to use my funds in January, perhaps to bring on board a few youngsters to develop. I would like to sell Robbie Keane if possible, and maybe find some cover for BAE at LB (he's out for 4-5 weeks with an ankle tweak, leaving me little options at that position).

Buy Verratti if you want youth. He's been the best young midfield prospect in the four or so years of FM. Can be trained to be a natural at any midfield position (in FM 10 I had him a natural at MC, AMC, MR, ML, AMR, AML), and he's been developing at similar levels in my FM 11 save (I only wish I had him this time. Maybe in the future).

If you're looking for quality youngsters, keep these guys in mind along with Verratti

-Jack Robinson (Left Back) - English player with a ton of potential
-Zeli ismael (Winger) - another solid English prospect
-Jack Butland (Goalkeeper) - can be very good if tutored properly
-Thorgan Hazard (AMC) - Eden's younger brother can develop well if trained properly
-Khouma Babacar (ST) - will cost 11 million pounds or more, but can be world class
-Vaclav Kadlec (AML/ST) - have him in my City save and he's turning into a great player. Relatively cheap at 5 million too
-Lorenzo Crisetig (D/MC) - labelled the next Danielle De Rossi. Cheap signing with a ton of quality

No worries bud and I forgot 2 more to add:

-Yaya Sanogo (ST) - cheap and has great potential but is injured at the start of the game for basically the whole year

-Connor Wickham (ST)-you can get him for 3-4 million. Labelled the next Teddy Sheringham

I need suggestions on who to manage. I can't seem to make it through a season before I get tired of a team and want to start over.
