Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Started as the USA Manager and then picked up the Portsmouth job around the January transfer window. They were getting pretty damn close to the drop from the Championship but I have won 3 out 4 since taking over. The only loss coming in the FA Cup where I didn't throw a great squad out there since the roster is so small with Pompey. I got them up to 15th and we have been playing some inspired ball.
If anyone would like to use the tactics I am running I would be glad to hook it up.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I'd be interested to have a look at them. I actually ran that formation a while ago in a different save, but that was before I understood the philosophy behind the 5-by-5, so it was really just aimless, curious to see how you implemented it into FM, if that is indeed what you had in mind.Comment

Striker: Pretty much can use anyone. Usually I use a poacher or target man.
Wingers: One in a winger role, the other in a inside forward or if your using a poacher I run two inside forwards
Midfield: Left Mid is your Advanced Playmaker, Right Mid is your Ball Winner or Deep Lying Pmaker
DMid: Usually run as anchorman but can work with just plain DMid.

Tactical Theorems 2010 eBook A Comprehensive Tactical Design & Match Strategy Guide for Virtual Football Managers Get your team playing exactly
You have to give them your email in order to get the download link but I am 99% sure you dont get spam from them and I have gotten maybe 3 emails from them over a year. It was written for FM 10 but the ideas have not changed really although some tweaking might be needed to compensate for engine changes.
If there are any specific roles/ideas you want explained just open a new thread or ask here and I'll help you out best I can.COYBComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well, in my last update, I was entering year two at Cosenza and was playing Genoa in the TIM Cup. We surprisingly played quite well in that game but lost 2-1. Now five games into the second season, we sit in second place, just two behind the leaders, and we've notched up 4 clean sheets in a row and only conceded once in the first five games. The problem is, as you'll see from my most recent match against Adria BAT, Consenza just isn't scoring. Our defense is top notch and we get a lot of chances, but we just can't finish. I don't know if this is just lower league play or not, but we should be easily in first place.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
There are several sites you can go to. I usually go to either FM-base or sortitoutsi. I use the Megapack 3.0 facepack and the Metallic logo pack. That should get you started. You can browse those sites for anything else you might want. Oh, also, get a competition name fix so that everything is called by its actual name.
Instructions as to where files need to be saved should be on the same page as the download links.
Good luck. If you can get past the sharp lurning curve, you're going to be addicted.
And for kits, I use the SS Kit megapack.Comment

League Table.jpg
Blackpool are the team not shown in 20th. Sunderland were runners up in the FA Cup to us and Bolton won the Carling Cup. Newcastle were serious contenders for the first half of the season but eventually fell out with injury trouble. Man City had a 10 point lead on us by the end of the year but we somehow caught up with them.
Team of the Year.jpg
Donovan and Arteta won player of the year awards while I got manager of the year.

Here is my tactic I used in case you are wondering, if you want to know the team/player instructions or want to know some of the reasoning/touchline instructions just send me a pm and I'll gladly help you out.COYBComment
