Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I. LOVE. THIS. GAME. Where has it been all my life? Just moved through November, and trying to make any potential transfer plans as I begin to move through December. November was--profitable...
Check out that PoM! He has been (SURPRISINGLY) incredible. Was planning to sell in Jan, but now--not sure that I can!
Cream has risen to the top...
Very pleased with results. Not sure what happened away at Newcastle!
Doing the business elsewhere too.

Finished 3rd in the Eastern Conference of MLS with Atlanta United. Beat NYRB in the wild card, and NYCFC 6-1 on aggregate in the conference semis.
Drew TFC in the conference finals.
(Edit: Beat TFC 5-3 on aggregate and will face Portland at home for the title).
As many in here have said, MLS is a weird league to manage in and I’ll be looking to move to Europe sooner than later.
Derby and QPR both have vacancies, but they’ll both be in a relegation fight.

So, I tried the "Offer to Clubs" as he's not willing to enter negotiations. Set the price at £20M, and got 4 offers back for £15M each. Didn't save, and tried again asking for £80M, and got 3 offers back for £45M.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Won the MLS cup with Atlanta United 4-1 at home. First league title since playing the game since FM 2011.
Not sure where to go from here to be honest. I have a National C license and there are multiple openings in League One.
The transfer and contract rules in MLS make it quite difficult to stay around. I wanted to replicate ATL’s real life deal for Darlington Nagbe, but the maximum amount of allocation money you can offer in a trade is 500k.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I got offers from Monaco, Man City, Chelsea, and Liverpool. All for £45M.
Wonder which one I chose. Still early December, so we'll see how it shakes out. I've been given a £172M transfer budget for January. An additional £45M certainly wouldn't hurt...Arsenal | New York YankeesComment

Monaco surely don’t want another RVP situation on your hands.
Don’t wanna be that club who sells their best player.
Everton hired me as their new manager and I told them I would get them into Europe.
They’re in 18th and in the drop zone.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Season 2 is in the books.
It was a rather uneventful run-in, as we were basically locked into the 3rd position for quite a long time.
It was a tumultuous season for big name managers in the Premier League. Newcastle were the surprise of the season, as they held off City and Stoke for 4th place under new manager Didier Deschamps. Rafa Benitez left to take the Spain job in July. On the same day there was another major manager shakeup, as Arsene Wenger left Arsenal to take the France job. His replacement, Luis Enrique, lasted until the end of the season when he was fired for finishing 10th and missing out on European football. In other manager news, Pep Guardiola was sacked, as Manchester City had a dreadful season by their standards. They sat in 11th in January when he was shown the door. Zinadine Zidane left Real Madrid to take the job, and saved a bit of face taking them into a 5th place finish and qualified for the Europa League. Finally, Maruicio Pochettino was sacked in January and eventually replaced by Roberto Mancini, who has made his return to English football.
On the transfer front, we have locked up the goalkeeper position for the foreseeable future by bringing in Gianluigi Donnarumma from AC Milan. Strong defensive midfielder Ljubomir Fejsa from Benfica was brought in to add some situational steel to the midfield. Naby Keita, of course, was an existing transfer that went through. Jack Wilshire, who spent the first half of the season out of contract was signed for only 35k/week for experienced depth. An absolute steal. Kik Pierie, a promising Dutch left back, was brought in, as we were extremely thin at the position in the youth ranks.
Loris Karius and Danny Ward were surplus at goalkeeper and were sold to West Ham and Huddersfield. We put 8 past Ward in the two matches against him. Karius got a bit of revenge in a surprise 1-0 win in London in his first match against his old team. Later in the season it didn't go as well for him in a 4-1 thumping. Barcelona came in with an offer for Dejan Lovern that I couldn't pass up, so he was shipped off. He got sent off in one of the 4 Champions League matches we played against them, lol.
The squad is a bit bloated at the moment, but most players get rotated in with so many matches and there is good cover for injuries. This caused us to pay about a 1 million penalty for FFP salary rules. For the summer, I might go for the big splash of Dybala, but we'll see Firmino scored almost 30 goals in all competitions. We might need that bona fide star to finally make a real title run though. As for outgoing, Ragnar Klavan has started a big decline in his physical attributes and will not be offered a new contract. Gini Wijnaldum is probably going to end up being the odd man out in the midfield mix and wants to leave for Atletico. It's probably time for him to go. Lazar Markovic has not lived up to expectations and will not be offered a new contract.
We swept the preseason trophies by beating Man City in the Community Shield and then Real Madrid days later. The Real Madrid victory was surprising, as we played mostly a rotated squad, and they came with all their firepower up front.
The League Cup was used as an opportunity to rest players and give youth a chance to get some senior matches under their belts. We beat Ipswich and Arsenal before falling to Spurs in the Quarterfinals. Watford caused a big surprise by topping City in the final, denying Zidane his first trophy as their manager.
For the second straight season, we received a very favorable road in the FA Cup and took advantage of it. A hard-fought 0-0 final was won in penalties, as former Liverpool player Jonjo Shelvey hit the crossbar in the shootout to help his former team raise the trophy for a 2nd consecutive time.
Finally, our European adventure came to an end in the quarterfinals, as Barcelona got their revenge for the group stage and defeated us 5-2 on aggregate. We went toe to toe with them, losing 2-1 on the road in the first leg. Despite pulling it back to 1-1 in the 2nd leg early in the 2nd half, it all went downhill as Clyne was sent off for a 2nd yellow card. The first knockout round was a bit crazy. We held a commanding position in Monaco in the first leg, up 2-0 going into the last 10 minutes. But Monaco pushed and pushed and were able to level the score with goals in the 88th and 91st minute. We turned the tables in the 2nd leg though. Mohamed Salah scored in the 81st minute to secure a 1-1 draw and away goals 3-3 aggregate win.
Nathaniel Clyne, Virgil Van Dijk, and Roberto Firmino were named in the Team of the Season
Sadio Mane was named Player of the Month for January
Gianluigi Donnarumma was named Young Player of the Month for September and December.
Trent Alexander-Arnold was named Young Player of the Month for March.
Ben Woodburn was named Young Player of the Month for April and May, as he did a good job spot starting for various injuries and rotation towards the end of the season. It was nice to see him bounce back so soon after a long spell out with an injury of his own. He could end up being a star on the left flank.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 12-17-2017, 09:34 PM.Comment

Well, this is a new one. My loaned out striker has won the European Golden Shoe scoring 32 league goals for his 6th place team in the Dutch Eredivisie. Wow!

Sometimes i forget that Zach Clough isnt related to Brian Clough. Surname still means you get to do legendary stuff for Forest though.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
After selling Coutinho to Man Utd only 18 months after I sold him to them, Bayern now wants to replace him with either Salah or Mane and have tried multiple offers. Yeah no Bayern. You have lost the privilege of ever buying another player from me in every version of FM forever.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Maybe this is a dumb question...but I've seen one some of the screenshots you guys have, and even on some youtubers vids for the game...that every attribute for every player is discovered even without getting a scouting report. When I play (granted, still on FM 16 at the moment), I only get the ranges and have to scout to learn.
I actually like that better because it's more realistic, but wondering if there is a setting that allows you to see the whole list of attributes right off the top?Teams:
