Got FM16 and, wow, is the interface ever improved. So much more info without having to enter other screens. Match engine is great out of the box too. Bravo, SI.

I've been investing heavily in the youth team as well as youth facilities and recruitment and it is paying off.

I don't even have 76m in my bank.
Hey kaletore, any chance you could pay Kampl's wages for me from PFC?
Working with financial restrictions is fun.
also fun, playing your favorite team for a place in the UCL Group Stage...

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So after fiddling around, I decided to start as Arsenal. I came to the realization I hadn't done an Arsenal save in years so I thought I'd start one. Disabled budgets and am not using any shortlists other than the players my own scouts discover.
I've decided that while I have a huge amount of money, I'm going to sign players who are at most 18 years old. I want to build a completely homegrown squad of of players trained at the club. So that means no Luan, Icardi, or anyone really good at their age. Heck, I may miss out on Embolo or Tielemans but this is what I want to do to keep this save interesting.
I'm focusing on developing players. Zelalem, Gnabry are on loan, so this season, JRA, Bennacer, Dragomir, Crowley, are just a few decent players that will be tutored and given some game time. I'm also obviously going to keep most of the senior squad but will sell if someone breaks throughComment

Nothing like a 6-2 reality check by Arsenal, off to the Europa League I go, and this is my group
I also lost John Brooks to Dortmund for £15m, took back Antonio Rudinger from them to replace him for £5mSupport Local Sports

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
What's everyone doing to get that tactical familiarity up in year 1? They've obviously changed something to make it take about twice as long using my old methods.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I played a lot of friendlies and didn't sign anyone. Also changed match prep to tactics only. I also only started training 1. Found that it really boosted my familiarityComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
That might be what's wrong in mine. Tried starting with 3 complicated tactics. Need to start with just one simple tactic.
Liverpool is quite an interesting start this year. Two of your key players are injured for months right off the bat, and Benteke's goal in life is to be offside when he's a lone striker.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Yep, that's what I was doing. In the past you could train 3 tactics decently using this method, but it looks like they really upped the penalty for trying to train more than one at a time this year.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Once you're fluid in your first tactic, then you can add two more. If they are similar to the first tactic, you will learn them quickly. And fortunately you won't have to start all over again with one tactic in the off season.Comment
