Started one with Real Union since my last one ended abruptly, and.....

Had like a 8 point lead with 6 to play and then my team forgot how to score goals. Now need to do this long playoffs to try an get promoted.

Edit: Played like 8 extra games and finally got promoted woot. Had to go to penalties against 2 opponents but came out on top thanks to my goalkeeper.

So I am 1 friendly away from starting my first regular season down at level 23 of English Football.

My created South Coast Rangers FC (located in Shoreham-by-sea, nicknamed The Storm, and playing at 'Cliffview') has had an up and down friendly stretch, including losing to our own U21s but beating a team in the Isthmian Premier League as well. I got 2 solid players (RB and CM) for the level on a free amateur contract, but my other attempts have been rebuffed as the players team has signed them to a contract.

Looking forward to a solid season!

three years into my journeyman save, and i think i found a bug, while at SK Sturm Graz, I applied to Stuttgart. It's now been two months since then and there's been no action on anyone's part. maybe I've stayed away long enough i can go back to the nottingham forest save.

This save is becoming depressing. I might have to start a second save with a big team, just so I can win a game once in a while.

Anyone else still running a long-term save? I started my FM 2012 save back in January of that year, and I'm now into 2039. It helps that I particularly love FM 2012 more than any other FM game so far.

I've managed Walsall FC and taken them to a massive number of BPL titles and cups, took England to the semi-finals of World Cup 2038 and now I'm attempting to push Ross County up the Scottish divisions, with one promotion secured so far. I have no intentions of giving this save up!

                EPL Champions

Ended up being a pretty comfortable title race. Clinched it with a 3-0 win at home against Chelsea, with 2 matches to play.

After easily dispatching Dortmund in the first knockout round of the Champions League, I had a double on my mind, but in the 2nd knockout round I was put in my place by Atletico, 5-0 aggregate. D'oh.

I think Harry Kane moved into world class caliber for me this year. He had 47 goals in 48 appearances for club and country. Just a really great season for him. Felipe Anderson and Martin Odegaard are the mainstays on my wings (I run a 4-1-2-3, with a CDM, 2 CMs, LW, RW, and ST), and they both chipped in a combined 31 league goals.

We are the youngest team in the EPL, as well. With an average age of 24.8. Out of my midfield and attack, the oldest player is Christian Eriksen at 28 years old. Lloris and Vertonghen are getting old. I think Lloris still has a couple seasons of top quality left in him, but I think the top priority over the summer will be finding a replacement for Vertonghen.

                Fun season!

Alright, so I'm due for an update

So I finished off the run and won League 2 for Oxford. Didn't really have much to do, just had to not screw up in the last 10 matches and we got that done.

2016/2017 the board wanted to fight bravely against promotion. Okay, that's cool, we just got promoted, let's set a foundation. 2 months later, we're hanging around the top of the table and it's clear we're going to stay up. So every time we enter negotiations about my contract, I try to raise the expectations to a mid-table finish, but they never agreed.

                    Okay.

I end up signing a new contract around the end of January cause like hell I'm going to risk not having a job. Brought in a couple of loans from the big English clubs for reinforcements but the form slows down and we end up 14th, which while disappointing, it still was a season far better than we could have hoped for.

So jobs in the Prem and the Championship start to open up. I apply for the West Brom job after Nigel Pearson gets sacked only a year in after failing to get promotion, but it's a no go and they hired Alex Neal away from Brighton. So, what's the next thing I do?

                    Apply to Brighton of course.

Come in, nail the interview, and got the job (and tripled my wages as well). Didn't have to splurge on any transfers (got a couple of loans to cover for the first team and picked up Luis Jimenez on a free). Right now sitting top of the table in first after the summer transfer period closed, just crushed Norwich 4-0 at home. Hopefully we can keep this going.

Well, back with Nottm Forest, and I really wish I could go public with transfer offers just to humiliate other managers and their lowball efforts. Martin Ødegaard currently rated at £56m, had an offer from Man City that was £39m in total. Not even close to an acceptable offer for someone with 3 years left on their deal, and was in excellent form all of last year. I think if it was real life, I would make their offer public so everyone knows how badly they lowballed me.

                        It's been a while..

The Rangers board decided to let me go after I finished 8th in the Scottish Prem. Getting battered by Celtic in both the League Cup(semi-final) and Scottish Cup(quarter-final), on top of our league meetings was my undoing. A bit ridiculous considering it was Rangers first year back in the Prem and are still far from where Celtic currently stand, but when it's your biggest rival, I guess repeated beatings aren't acceptable no matter what your stature is.

I'm feeling like starting a new journeyman save, unemployed, no badges and see where I land.

I really suck at this game. Portadown fired me. I was doing okay I thought. Finishing just outside the Europa spots, in 4th. Two years in a row. Within a game or two of getting there each time, just a couple points back on 3rd.

I also never made it very far in cups. And didn't have a good record against rivals. Over spent the last season to try and bring in players for that final push. Didn't work out.

Now I have to learn Icelandic! I got hired by iA (Iprottabandalag Akraness). They only play 22 league games in Iceland! This should be fun.

There system is very different, but kinda cool. They have a pre season tournament. So you don't really need to play too many friendlies if you don't want. Maybe a couple before if you want to do good in it early. Or a few after if you bomb out early. Kind of excited for it. Also their season runs odd. Pre season tourney runs Feb-April. Season runs May-Oct. Transfer window from Nov-May. I have feeling bringing in anyone outside Scandinavia will be a hard sell. Hopefully I can do better here. I seem to fail in any league outside of England.

Decided to start up a new save. Kind of wanted a new challenge. I might return to my Spurs save to try and win the Champions League at some point, but I wanted to return to team I tried last year, and failed miserably with...

                            Spoiler

I love the story, and I think it would be awesome to get them to the EPL. I've never successfully taken a League 2 team to the EPL. Got Oxford up from League 2 to the Championship in FM14 but stalled out there.

My goal for the season is to finish mid-table. A quarter of the way through the season, we're sitting pretty nicely. Started the season off hot, but went through a bit of a rough patch. Leveled off a bit now, hopefully we'll go on another run soon!

I think I have a pretty good squad, there are some good players, but several of them are older, so if I am able to gain promotion to League 1 with this core, I might have to rely on loan players heavily in the higher league. I could definitely forsee a situation where my core players now are too old to hold their own, but my young players are not quite ready to be stars. Should be interesting.

So this is odd. I always take interviews offered to me, even if I have no interest in the job. I just like to see if I can get it. And if I can, to make a quick side save and check them out. Look at the squad, all their info. Just poke around.

So Stoke. They haven't been in the FA Cup since 15/16. It is currently the 21/22 season. Seven seasons they have not been in the FA Cup. No clue why. I'm guessing this is bug, and not some 10 year ban for rules violation or something.

So my starting GK amasses an amazing 9.3 match rating (which includes a fantastic penalty save). Naturally, I praise him for his tremendously goalkeeping in the previous match. Of course his morale plummets as he tells me he thought he was terrible. Fine, next time I'll criticize your 9.3 match rating.
