Folks on reddit and the official forums seem pretty annoyed at the new UX. Not the way it looks, but there's lots of wasted space and it's harder to do things now.
Do you agree? Major problem? Just folks being upset? There have been some pretty reasonably written posts about this, so I wanted to hear from you all.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

I mean, I really didn't like new skin/ui at first. But its slowly growing on me. Most all my gripes will more than likely be fixed when skins start coming out so I'll just put up with what I don't like about it until then. And probably by then be so used to it that it wont even bother me anymore.
Also I agree with everything this dude says about the UI:

If you click on Assignments it will take you here, where you can create or edit existing:
If you are not set to handle the scouting and your chief scout is, that assignment tab wont be there. In its place it will say Scouting Focus, like this:

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Also I am finding I am fighting tooth and nail to gain the players trust and respect. Currently my captain and two key players oppose me and no one supports me. Everyone else is on the fence. But since the main guys are against me, its really hard to do a team talk or have any interaction with anyone really. It has zero effect, most players respond negatively to everything. So losing a game has a big morale drop. And winning barely moves it upwards. This also has an effect in match because players seem lackadaisical and don't care if we win really. They seem to just being enough to get by, no real effort seems to be given.
Doing a journeyman in FM18 is going to be crazy hard at first. It wont be as easy in past games. It was super easy to stroll into a very low level team with no rep or any stats and start turning them around quickly in that first season. Now it feels like an actual uphill battle that will take years. Like in real life. No unknown manager really walks into a small club and has them winning titles in their first season in real life. So I'm actually really looking forward to starting one on full release after the first big patch.
Also with the new injury feedback system, I find I'm acting like Klopp in regards to players. Treating them with baby gloves and not putting them back in straight away. I used to just go, 45 minutes recommend but you're playing playing the full game. Now I'm like, you wont play until until 100% cleared. Because all the feed back says re-injury risk is high. So that is kind of cool. Even if a guy gets a knock for a week, and it cleared to play. I wont. Because the physios are telling me he needs rest or there is a very high risk of him getting hurt again.Last edited by Zac; 10-30-2017, 03:10 PM.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I just noticed this and really like it.
That is the scouting report for the next opponent.
The star icon indicates he has the teams highest average rating.
The ball icon and yellow card are pretty self explanatory, top scorer and one away from a ban.
And the green arrow on the RB indicates he is making his debut for the club.
If you hover each player it shows their season stats too. I also like that it tells you the mentality and shape they have played the most with that formation.

The UX is awful. I started playing FM with the 2012 version, and this, bar none, is the absolute worst default skin. I've stopped playing a number of times because I got frustrated I couldn't find something I used to know. That being said, I've gotten more used to it now, and it's catching on with me. I will still skin this as soon as the first non-default option arrives just to see what else is available.
In the grand scheme of things, I think it's less of a problem, more of a matter of getting used to it. Had I not paid for the beta, this would not turn me off from purchasing the full game.Support Local Sports

Really appreciate the perspective on the UX guys. If you find any skins that help a lot with it, let us know.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Pro tip for beta right now. Default set pieces are garbage. Everyone is linedup goofy and no one reacts. You need to get in there and set something up ASAP. And once you do, they actually work now. Unlike last year where I could set something up and they never, ever actually executed it. They seem to be now. I'm scoring a lot from set pieces. I'm also not conceding from every damn corner the other team takes now.

Sadly I can no longer appear to play this game, it keeps freezing at the end of my Fulham-Forest tie.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Ya there are a lot of issues with this beta. It feels like this should have been out in testing over a month ago, because I'm not sure they can fix all this by the release day.
I also just ran into a crashing issue. I can't advance past the day I am on or it crashes to desktop. So much for this save. This is now my 9th bug reported. And I have a list of like 11 or 12 that I didn't report because someone beat me to it.

I was really enjoying FM18, but man, the beta is just a crash-fest. Hopefully once the game actually drops on Friday that stuff is ironed out. Never once had an issue with FM17.Huskers | Chelsea FC | Minnesota United | OmahaComment

Funny on Facebook though, it seems as though most of the commenters forgot that the game is in fact, still in beta.Support Local Sports
