Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

I mostly got the kinks ironed out in my North American Pyramid/Worldwide champions league save and finished up my first season.

Bayern Munich beat Barcelona to win the FIFA Champions League, but the cinderellas of the competition were the Portland Timbers, who made it all the way to the 2nd knockout round, which is remarkable.
    Spoiler

In the new "USA 1", Atlanta pretty much owned the season from beginning to end and finished with 84 points.
    Spoiler

I was coaching Seattle, and we only finished 6th but led the league in goals scored and had the leading goalscorer in Jordan Morris and the assist king (Nicolas Lodeiro). I added a tall striker named Carlinhos at the midseason transfer window, and he was clutch, getting 13 assists and 17 goals in just 24 games (16 starts).

Minnesota United won the US Open Cup, and Darwin Quintero was arguably the best player in USA1.

My U20s season went very well, as they won the league and I had the best goalscorer and goalkeeper.
    Spoiler

LAFC, Cincy, and Oklahoma City are getting promoted from USA 2 (Colorado, RSL, San Jose relegated). Poor Fort Lauderdale didn't manage a single point the whole campaign.
    Spoiler

LOL. First they are almost relegated, now LAG are selling all their players.

My Champions League debut started with a 1-0 and 2-0 losses to Napoli and Real Madrid respectively then a draw with Dynamo Kiev. After that it was 5-0 drubbings of Kiev and Napoli. After those two results I'm now in 2nd place in the group.

Hey friends, been away for a good while, got my FM itch back.

Starting a new save w/ Juventus.

When I load it up, the UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga, and La Liga (among others I'm sure) are not licensed correctly. However, I've "done the fix" previously, as I loaded my previous Arsenal save to ensure it was correct, and it was. So, not sure why this save would revert back to the incorrect naming?

Any ideas of how to fix? I tried clearing the cache and reloading the (default) skin--to no avail...

        Thanks, as always!

Figured it out! Had to move those "name fix" files from the 1810 to the 1830 folders. I have no idea what all that even really means--but it worked lol

            Me again, lol...

So I see there are quite a few updates available for the Cut Out Faces megapack. I assume I need to download each individual one, in order to get the updates that each contains?

For example, lets just say the most recent file is ONLY updating Alexis in his ManU kit. If I download that update only, that's the ONLY thing that will be updated? I don't want to have to update 6 times, lol...

The different folders are for the different versions, the 1830 folder is referenced when running FM 18.3, the 1810 folder is for FM 18.1, just as an fyi.

If you're downloading from sortitoutsi, they should have all of the updates in the megapack, the updates are only for people who downloaded previous megapacks and don't want to download 6gb of images again.

Yeah I saw the "update" note and figured it out. Much appreciated.

And sorry I wasn't overly clear after reading my post again. I did DL the pack back on 11-22. I see there are 6 updates. I'm trying to avoid DL each of them (I have terribly slow internet, lol). I just wasn't sure if I had to DL all of them, or if I could DL just the most recent one?

Every now and then I attend games to watch players, or just for fun, it's always funny when the media reports fly out about it too. I just went to watch Denmark vs England in the 2028 UEFA Euros and apparently the media are at a loss as to why I was there.

                      Let's see here:
                      Second Nationality: Danish
Former Players in the Denmark Squad: 8
Current Players in the Denmark Squad: 2
Former Players in the England Squad: 2
Current Players in the England Squad: 5
New club record signings starting for England: 1

Definitely a total mystery as to why I showed up to the Camp Nou for that game.

Also, fun, Lukas Raeder, a player I signed when at Viborg in the 1. Division to take over as my starting GK is joining me as a player at Arsenal. He's not really good enough, but because I can only have 14 foreign players, I needed a cheap backup English goalkeeper that wouldn't mind starting sporadically, if ever. So welcome back Mr. Raeder!

With the season wrapping up and with Rangers having ANOTHER manager...I'm feeling like finally shelving my Amiens save in FM17 and going full dive with Rangers in FM18.

Been working on a Klopp-like tactic, as Stevie G has said that he is looking to emulate Klopp's style while at Rangers.

So a few clubs have been after one of my best defenders and I have no intention of letting him go. After I rejected the latest offer from BMG, the player's agent demanded I offer him a new contract if I'm not going to sell to another club.

The agent was asking wayyy above what anyone at the club is currently making(he's already one of the best paid players as it is) and he shut me down on my highly reasonable counter-offer.

So I asked the player to sack his agent.

HAHAHAHAHAHA. 0 players on the books now, have fun with that.

Last year's FIFA Champions League (Worldwide competition I downloaded to replace all continental competitions) was a disappointment, so I signed Fabian Castillo, Gedion Zelalem, Angelinho, Francisco Meza, Tyler Adams, and Chris Oikonomidis to help out. It has worked so far.

After defeating FH (Iceland) and Dinamo (Croatia) in the 3rd and 4th qualifying rounds of the FIFA Champions League, I drew into Group W and managed to escape with 2nd place, behind Arsenal:

                                My reward? Bayern Leverkusen. Ugh.

We don't play them for 3 months though, and I have some reinforcements coming:
                                • Kellyn Acosta - 23 year old swiss army knife from FC Dallas
                                • Farinha - 6'6" box-to-box CM/DM. Has 14 pace, 13 acceleration, 14 agility despite height and a bunch of decent technical attributes.
                                • Benjamin Rollheiser - 18 year old striker from River Plate who already has 14 finishing, 13 technique, 15 pace. Comes in and is already as good (or better) as my best striker (Jordan Morris).

Maybe I can sit back and get lucky on the counter, we'll see.
